Faythee giggled and waved off the doctor's concerns, her eyes shining brightly. She moved back to pour herself a cup of coffee, making it the way she liked it swiftly.
"These are some of the cheapest pills we carry, sir! Not really wasting them!Besides! What good is a doctor to a patient if he's dead asleep! None! So, good morning, Sir!" Her giggling fits get worse as she took a sip of her coffee. She had a hard time swallowing it as she laughed but that wouldn't be her biggest concern today...
"By the way, sir, Urania swung by with a patient. Heavy blood loss, most likely cranial trauma, Usage of a mild muscle relaxant, pain killer, and one of the homeopathic nausea fighters. There was use of the needle and thread as well, making me think that whatever wound it was, it was sewn shut but that's kinda obvious!" She swung her free hand about, reciting the list off the top of her head. She moved over to the list she'd made on the counter by one of the sinks and quickly scanned it over, making sure she relayed all that she could. She nodded to herself, placing the scribbled notes back down on the counter and turned back around, jumping slightly as the once empty bed now had a body in it.
She rushed over to the bruised form of the young man, listening to the wheezing and taking note of all the injuries. She placed a cool hand against the paling male's forehead, taking his temperature, the other hand checking his pulse. She bit her lower lip, counting the beats per half minute, waving her other hand as his temperature was too much for her. She pulled back, a shout of "Sir!!" called over her shoulder as she rushed over to a counter, pulling out a pair of trauma scissors and began cutting away the man's shirt, revealing large lacerations and blackening bruises. His wheezing signaled that something was obstructing his lungs, and the odd shape of half of his chest indicated broken ribs. It would be best to remove the outer wear of his torso as to not stress the injury further. She would check his lower half when the doctor relieved her of the upper body wounds.
Faythee stared at the doctor as he rolled over on his wheeled chair, asking mundane questions to the patient who had obvious breathing issues.
"Sir. Please. Help first, mundane later?"

I can do it just fine with or without coffee or asking questions that could very well prevent a lawsuit. Now let me work," He grumbled as he worked. He had to get some cough medicine and some pain killers at the very least. If it gets worse, they'll need to get an oxygen tank or perform CPR.

He's gonna be just fine... he said. Drake, eh? Yeah, that name seemed familiar now. He didn't have time to check his medical history though. "Nurse, please get me some sort of coughing suppressant. Before we can stop the chest pain, we need to stop the cough..."

A dark eyebrow rose at the crass response of the doctor. She wasn't questioning him, she was merely trying to make sure that the patient wasn't in a life threatening state before asking questions. She pulled her hands back, her usual smile falling.
"Sir. I'm not. You don't have to get grumpy with me. I wanted to make sure he wasn't in a life threatening state, as his clothes are obstructing the view and his breathing is abnormal." She swiftly turned about and pulled out a few different types of cough suppressants in varying forms. She placed them all on a rolling tray, along with several different pair relievers and clean wrappings.
"I apologize for my previous statement if it seems crass, I would just prefer that one of the first cases of the semester doesn't include the two of us getting into an argument." She took a step back, not wanting any kind of conflict and stood there patiently, waiting for another order.

He lifted off the shirt and saw the massive amount of blood coming from his chest. He facepalmed and insisted she take over. The sight of blood was making him queasy. "It's too early for this s**t... I need another cup of coffee..." he growled, going back to get another cup of black coffee.

She nodded brightly, her eyes bright again. She could get over things quick when the patient needed her. She waved her hand at the coffee machine with a sly smirk.
"Why do you think I gave you those pills sir?" She giggled slyly and began to count wounds. She rushed about the room after getting a ball park estimation of the number of cuts. With swift, small hands, she gathered a bowl of clean water and clean rags. She pulled a bottle of wound cleaner, some odd mix of peroxide and several homeopathic mixtures, and mixed some drops into the bowl of water. It wasn't enough to cause stinging, but it was enough to offer a bit of protection as she began her work. She pulled out an inhaler looking suppressant and numbing agent. She spoke softly as she sprayed it down his throat, massaging the tensed muscles there to get the medicine down as far as it could go. She let him cough a bit, monitoring his bleeding and continued to massage his throat and around his clavicle. The faster the medication began working, the faster she could administer more. She began to clean the exposed wounds as she waited, rubbing gently and measuring in her head.
"So, Drake was it? Nice to meet ya, love! I'm Faythee Stod, and I'll be your nurse-practitioner today! What I gave you was a hypoallergenic cough suppressant and throat number. I'd rather you not hurt anywhere but the most severe places, makes it easier to diagnose. So, doll, you got allergies before I give ya anything? And breathe slowly, in..... and out..... and in..... and out..... Trust me, easier on the lungs." She walked away from the bed, grabbing topic analgesics and a needle and thread as a just in case. She noted the awkward angle of his fingers and mentally noted the need for injections and resetting. Kid would't be able to use his hands for a while, but he would heal better than new... If he had a strong healing ability that is. if not, than good as new worked for her!
She cleaned the cuts swiftly a second time, placing some of the analgesic over it and wrapped it in clean, anti-bacterial bandages. She noted some of the cuts were deeper than others, but she needed permission from the patient before stitching anything up. She walked over to the cabinets again, passing the doctor and slipping him money to go get himself something. He was looking rather green to her, and it was best if he got some air to wake him up. It's always the morning injuries that were the worst! She rummaged about, filling up needles with pain killers and getting cast materials ready.
"So doll, training for something? Can I stitch the big ones? The faster I do this, the faster I can get to the ribs and fingers... Oh goodness I'm getting ahead of myself! So Drake, doll, can I stitch? I promise to inform you before I do anything else, but the spray was needed for communication!"

"Training isn't worth it if it gets you this beat up every single day... No matter what you're trying to master... If it were taking hits, he'd probably be a pro at it, but... I kinda doubt it," he said between drinks. His voice was muffled into the mug he was drinking from.

He set the coffee cup down and sat on the other side of the patient. "I don't want to take the pills. Those take at least an hour to get into my blood stream, and I don't have the patience to keep my patients waiting..."

Drake's eyes slowly opened when his wounds started to get cleaned, will at lest one eye opened, his true dragon eye stayed closed. His blue eye tried to focus on the lady mending his wounds,Drake then tried to answer her but stopped him self.Instead he lifted his still working arm and lightly touched her hand with his, this simple act opened a link form his mind to hers, this was one of his less used powers but due to very low magic left in his body he could only speak not not receive.I have no allergies I know of..it is easier if I do this...I hope you don't mind...Ms.Stod. Even though he spoke through telepathy it was still hard on him. Do what you need.....You have my permission. His hand then moves form her and lays back on the bed as his eye closes once more, his breathing slowed as did his heart beat,he was in short making his body shout down parts it didn't need right now.

Saphira ran as fast as she could. The girl hadn’t even bothered changing her swimming outfit. She’d just taken off her goggles and put them in her bag while she ran. Her towel shrug was tightly tied around her waist. At least she wasn't dripping wet.

[ENTER]

Saphira burst into the infirmary, panting heavily. Her eyes quickly scanned the area and noticed that no one was present. ”They must be treating Drake…” she muttered to herself. She hoped the doctor was treating him. The girl quickly walked towards the room where she heard animated voices.

She was about to go into the room, but she froze upon noticing the sight before her. Her eyes widened and she covered her gasp with one over her hands, ”Drake…” she breathed. He looked so beaten up. It was obvious he had broken bones, and blood was dripping all around him. The teacher told her he was badly injured. “Badly” didn’t even come close to the situation her friend was in. It looked as if a car had totaled him. He barely looked alive. Saphira hoped he would make it.

As much as she wanted to go to his side, she knew it was best not to disrupt doctors at work. If she went in or they messed up, Drake’s situation could turn worse. She leaned against the door frame and silently watched the nurse and doctor work. Saphira gripped the door frame so tightly that her knuckles started to turn white.

We don't know if there are any extra pieces of bone in his body, but we need to extract as many as we can and try to reassemble them. Now, Faythee, sweetheart, this is a new procedure, and it's called 'rib plating', okay? I'm gonna teach you how to do that," he explained.

He sighed and tried his best to stay focused, despite the long day that would await them. "We just need to make small incisions at the locations of impact, then apply small, titanium plates. They hold the ribs in place. These will allow him to breathe as though he was not injured..."

He imagined the phrase "mundane" again. "Breathing machines are a no-no. This concept is much better..."

Saphira ‘s eyes locked on to the doctor as he spoke of some new procedure to help piece together Drake’s ribs. More incisions!? she was horrified. The poor man was already cut up and blood, and he wanted to make more incisions? It took all the will power within her to hold her tongue. What did she know about doctoring and medical stuff? She had no right to say anything. This was probably one of the reasons doctors never wanted others in the room while fixing a patient. Only when pain shot up her arm, did she realize she’d been holding the door frame so tightly. She quickly let go and crossed her arms under her chest.

The girl’s head suddenly jerked up when she heard the soft whisper of her name. A slight relief washed over her. Thank gosh he’s alive… A weak smile formed on her lips as she gazed at Drake. Suddenly, Saphira heard a familiar voice in her head. At first she was confused but then she realized it was Drake’s voice. Now she knew he could use telepathy. When she tried to mentally reply back to his question, she got no reaction from him.

Finally unable to control herself, Saphira spoke up, ”Please tell him his friend Logen will be here soon… It might help him… I’ll be right outside…” she told the doctor and the nurse. She wanted to stay, but she knew she’d be disturbing their work, so she swiftly turned away from the room. She made her way to a nearby couch and placed her bag down. Saphira starting to pace back and forth. She wanted to help, but she had no idea what to do. She wished Logen would get here soon.

All Boots could do was poke her head out of Saphira's bag and gaze at her worriedly.

Vic trotted in, wagging her tail happily. She was carrying her favourite bone, and she set it down by the front desk. Hm, what's causing all this ruckus? she thought, as she tilted her head to the side, lifting her ear a bit. A patient was in need! Vic barked loudly, to alert her fellow co workers of her arrival, before wagging her tail and pacing. She then shook a few times, and walked over to them. The pup nudged Faythee's leg with her nose, and huffed. She wanted to help them, but the panic and tension in the room was keeping her in her true form. She sniffed around, before deciding to join the anxious student back out in the waiting room. Vic whimpered slightly, and circled around the pacing girl, before sitting down on the tile, staring at her. Please don't freak her out. Please, you're just a talking dog. How is that not normal? she sighed to herself, before tilting her head once more. "Hello. I couldn't help but notice you are in distress, dear. Besides, your pacing is making me really want to run around out side and pla- you know, now probably isn't the time." she murmured, in a gentle tone, scolding herself silently. The pup yawned, and stood once more, wagging her tail. She hopped up onto a slightly large unoccupied area, on one of the benches, and rest her head in her paws. Now to play the waiting game. She'd enter the other room if needed. Besides, there was enough commotion going on. It would be best to leave the doctors be.

"Oh please! Call me Fay or Faythee! Mrs. Stod makes me feel old! Well... Older than I am at least! Don't worry, kiddo! You'll be better in no time!"
Faythee unwound her spool of thick black thread swiftly, rewinding a large amount of it around one of her canines and bit off the excess. What was on her tooth would be enough, she assumed for the first of the gashes she planned to sew closed. While this practice seemed odd to others, being that she was a spirit she couldn't contaminate the thread and needle with saliva. She maintained the ability to produce water in her mouth, but no bacteria could grow there, her body lacking necessary hormones and conditions to hold life in that way. She unwound part of the thread slightly and threaded her needle, a slightly hooked thin needle meant for a cut on bruised skin. She then rewound it and held the needle between her teeth, cleaning more away from the wounds as they sluggishly bled out. With the tools she needed at her jaw, she had both hands free to do whatever she needed. And it was easier if her face could be closer to the wound, she could see everything clearly up close.
She placed as little pressure as she could on any part of the student as she worked, well aware of muscle issues that could occur due to the dark bruises and lacerations. She was almost in a world of her own when a pressure caught her hand and a voice echoed in her mind. She understood the message given to her and gave a huge toothy smile. She had to reassure him that all would be fine. She quickly washed her hands in the cleaning liquid, now having turned a crimson color, and dried them off swiftly. Being as she couldn't carry microbes or anything in her body, didn't mean she couldn't have them on her. It payed to be extra careful sometimes!
She rubbed a numbing gel at the edges of the first wound, a gash on his upper arm that was too close to a vein for her comfort, and began her work swiftly, humming loudly as to give her patient notice when she was making her movements. She could feel the tensing of his muscles and forced herself to not rush her work. She hated when people were hurt. It made her feel like she failed her job in life! Once the first laceration was closed, she quickly cut the thread and tied it tight. She placed the needle back in her mouth and began dabbing away the blood that had escaped. She would bandage everything later, as the closing of the wounds was the most important.
She was about to start on the next one when a voice caught her attention. It wasn't loud, nor was it directed at her, but she heard it none the less, and it nearly made her curse as her vision darkened. Her teeth ground together as a vision assaulted her, her mind refusing to obey and the needle running straight through her lip. She moved her jaw again and a gash was created in her lip, a clear substance dripping from it quickly as she tensed. She shook her head quickly, the tear slowly opening the other way and tried to release her muscles. She got very tense during a vision and it was always a pain! She took several deep breaths and pulled the needle back through her lip, ignoring the bleeding hole there. It didn't really bother her as her attention was directed to the owner of the voice.
The girl left as quickly as she arrived, taking her worry about her vision with her. The doctor spoke up at the right time, catching her mid thought and she immediately nodded. She moved herself away from the patient and began gathering the necessary supplies, along with one of the needles of morphine. She wasn't a fan of needles or drugs of this nature, but it was entirely necessary as she was, in essence, re-breaking and resetting bones in a delicate area. She dabbed her lip with a small cotton pad and pressed it there, pulling away the excess and leaving a oddly shaped fuzzy spot on her lip. It wasn't attractive, she knew, but it would prevent her blood from falling into an open wound. She placed a scalpel and other tools on a cart and pushed it towards the doctor, making her way about the infirmary quickly to grab an iv drip and an oxygen mask. She dragged both machines over, hooking up the iv drip immediately and giving the boy the needed pain killer. It was only seconds before he was out and it would be at least an hour before he woke back up.
The oxygen mask forgotten, she quickly turned her attention back to the doctor. She inquired quickly about the location of the pieces and again rushed off, fetching the other equipment needed as the doctor prepared for the procedure. She too would wear gloves and a mask, if she were anything but what she was. She preferred working barehanded as she could ascertain a pulse better and she could feel everything. It was how she'd always worked, even when she was in the service of her family. She nearly jumped at the sudden barking noise and sent a caring smile down at the canine, her grin causing more liquid to seep out from the inside. She wouldn't say anything as to prevent the bleeding but she nodded her head towards the waiting room, letting the smaller being trot away. She rushed back to the doctor, nodding that she was ready to proceed.
