Tahira post 2

Well this was getting swiftly out of hand, Tahira shifted away from the rowdiest members of the crowd but kept her eyes focused on them. If there was going to be fighting here on Chibale then she'd be ready. Although for someone normally so certain of her stance and place in life the hybrid prentice was not quite sure what to do here. So many sides and sides within each side and yet none of them seemed fully right.

Tahira's fingers clenched and unclenched at her sides as she waited to see if the voice of the elders persevered and calmed the crowd or if those determined to charge off to Sauti were going to claim victory. Either way some sisters were going to be unhappy at the end of this.

Maya post 4

Maya's gaze returned to V'demhe as she drew closer. Word to the earthlings could prove to be a wise choice. But that would require leaving with the extremists and hoping they didn't notice as they moved on ahead to warn them. Her mind flicked a memory of Antiope, and she gave a half smile. "V'demhe I don't think our actions will cause much of a change. Earthlings know something is up. They are intelligent enough, I also doubt they will be easily pushed over. They have wise leaders, much like our Yansa and Eshe."

Inclining her head a little at the introduction Maya closed her eyes. "Pleasure to meet you." Twtiching her antenna thoughtfully Maya almost hummed. "Well Teiluj does have one, and she's finally figured out how to ride it. If need be she has a way to escape. And if nothing else Tao and his siblings should be nearly ready to start riding. She's small enough."

Maya wasn't sure if she was easing her own worries or that of V'demhe's but the spoken words had helped her some regardless. The approach of loud proclaiming sisters had Maya gritting her teeth. There were so many of them, that she couldn't help but wonder if they were divided right down the center when it came to this argument.

Elsheba: Post 4

This was all falling apart so fast...! Soon, Lumi had stomped off - to face Tahigwa, of all people. It would have been enough of a fiasco, but the words her sister uttered hit a nerve in the eldest sister. She wanted to, once again, yank her sister from where she stood, shake her until she bruised and saw sense, scream until she was forced to hear her words - but Elsheba knew it would only succeed in driving her further away.

Instead, she barked a laugh, then rose her voice, loud, hoping that it carried to where her sister could hear - drowning out Anya's protestations. "You would blindly ally yourself with a group just because they are blessed by Aisha? Would you say, sweet sister, that these people, baying for blood, have more of her in them than your nephew? Or his father? They were both born from her, just as you and these ... warmongerers were - and they are both in Tale, now, in the path of this proposed attack" Elsheba cast an apologetic look at Anya, knowing she had just hoped to dissuade a call to war, reaching to touch her on the shoulder, then strode to the beach, brushing past Lumikani without a glance - to stop beside Tahigwa.

It was true, Tahigwa was foaming at the mouth, furious and hot-headed - and Elsheba had been embarassed by her words about Aselia, harsh as they were. But in the point of protecting the lands to the west, Elsheba was in total agreement. Now, standing shoulder to shoulder with her mate's aunt, Elsheba nodded and turned her gaze to the group at the beach. "I don't know our mother's intentions, but I can't allow anyone to risk my Samoset or Nimueh."

Dyakida (Post 3)

”But she is one of the only ones who can do something, Briella...” the artisan said, almost shaking in her frustration, ”Next to Eshe, she will have the Elder's ear. She had power, seniority, and authority. People will listen to her. Our sisters must listen to her, and now, otherwise they won't later...” she bit down on her lip, trying to calm herself down. But wait, why should she bother to calm down? This was clearly turning into a fight of passions, and her voice, reasonable though it was, would not be heard. Her voice especially...

Hmm? It took Dyakida a moment to figure out who was talking to her. Ilyra's voice was deeper now, stronger and more melodic, and nothing at all like Briella's. After a moment of calculation and logic, she figured it out. ”Kiki... Kiunyki... is your cousin. Yes...” And a rampant little extremist.

The arguing continued to grow in intensity, and Dyakida reached for the nearest shoulder to hold for support and comfort. ”At this rate, we will tear each other apart...” she murmured...

Yitzah (Post 3)

”... Yeah.” Yitzah shrugged, ”They're all idiots.” her complaint about the bug monsters – the very important dretch – went unattended. Everybody was arguing about hybrids – about how they shouldn't kill their favorite hybrids because they were family or something – and how they were all going to get their asses handed to them if they invaded. ”They're gonna argue all day, you know.” she said to Anya, not particularly caring that the girl was otherwise occupied, ”And then they're gonna regret it at night when the monsters come to get the and they weren't ready because they were thinking about some stupid place a long way away.” she shrugged. And maybe, just maybe, she would let that happen. ”Idiots.”

Jerarda Post 4

It was hard not to get riled up, hearing how people were shouting such nonsense at each other. Everything was beginning to dissolve and at the rate it was going there was going to be a riot between the Extremists and the rest of the clan. Noting that Niabi had made sure that Shima was with her she went to pat her daughters head.

"Stay with Niabi okay? She will keep you safe." Jerarda stated as she gave the other sister a look of reassurance before she went to stand beside Vollerie as she was speaking the words she so desired to hear.

She did flinch however at being reminded at their fight against the Obans and how it had turned out. Even if it was true it still hurt ones pride. To lose against a bunch of hot heads like that...was embarrassing. Besides didn't everyone forget or was ignorant to the other threat that was literally at their borders? Should she bring it up? Sometimes people would rally against a common foe, like they had once against the Obans...but..

"I am proud to be an alkidike, I am proud of my sisters and elders, but times change...and we must adapt with them, or face isolation. We don't need to make enemies with every other culture that exists, if the earthlings decide to rally against us ...they will out number us...and even our best warriors won't be able to win against a force of nature that large. We shouldn't be thinking of war, but talking with their leaders to find a peaceful method if you are all so desperate for expanding our lands." She stated firmly as she cast her gaze around.

Shima Post 4

Shima was disappointed as she was removed from Voll and brought to Niabi's side. Looking around she was quick to realize that there were few younglings her age around. All this shouting was making her head hurt and she reached up to clutch Niabi's hand. She was quick to trust, perhaps because her ma had told her that Niabi would keep her safe but she trembled as Jerarda left her in Niabi's care.

"Ma...isn't going to have to fight ...is she?" She asked Niabi trying to hide the quiver in her voice and failing.

The extremist women seemed unimpressed by Tahigwa's display of weaponry... and the women who came to suppress her. Some even going as far as to laugh at the scene. "You think you can single handedly take down all of us?" One spat out, a smirk plastered on her face. "You should hold her back, before she hurts herself." Another laughed out at those coming to pull their rabid dog back.

The leader of the extremists, the one that had came from the shore looked to all the Sisters around her and spat on the floor. "You're all weak! You think that the Alkidike women came to the defense of the earthlings during the last war? You think we were helping them?" She barked out a laugh. "We were taking down a pest, those that would try to change the way of the Alkidike; not helping the other earthlings."

A few of the more mature extremists began to quip behind their Sister. "The earthlings are vermin; why defend rats?" "If vermin get into your food, you eliminate it." Another elaborated.

The leaders of the Alkidike - Yansa and Eshe - shook their heads. This was not the way. Yansa snapped back. "And what would you have us do? Throw them to the menzuri? Are you deranged?"

Behind the stage an older Sister stepped forward, coming to rest beside Yansa and Eshe. She was ornately decorated and, while quite old, stood tall and proud. All Alkidike knew her face, young and old. She was the Matron. The mystic that had stepped down when Eshe was old enough to demand her place.

She spoke loud and clear, her face showing the disdain for the conversation at hand. "Is this what the Alkidike has wasted away to? A crowd of earthling lovers? Those that would rather lay with earthlings than defend the honor of our own?" She sneered, her face showing the wisdom in her years and the disappointment in her eyes. "I do not support or condone this newly hatched generation of weakling Sisters. The Alkidike have stood for hundreds of years above the earthlings, striking fear into those that were below them, and now - after all this time - your generation is bent on destroying our race." She was garnering support from those who had known those years of glory. Older Alkidike, mothers and grandmothers, nodded their head in agreement. Some might have been too old to fight at this point, but the majority held the same thoughts.

They thought they had raised their children better than this.

The extremists cheered, their vigor and enthusiasm amped from the support of the singly most respected member of their society. If things continued on this way, there was no doubt that war would come.

NIABI POST 5

Before Niabi knew it, both Jerarda and Vollerei were gone and she was with little Shima. The little girl grabbed onto her hand, her voice giving away her fear. She was out of her league here. From the way things were heating up, she couldn't say that they wouldn't have to step up and take sides, fighting against each other. Though she was fairly certain it wouldn't happen here, not under Aisha.

She clutched the girl's hand back and tried to smile to her for reassurance. "I know it looks bad, and maybe a little scary, but your mom will be ok. No one is going to fight here." She hesitated just a little at the end of her sentence. She hoped she was right, but weapons were already being drawn.

The Matron stepped forward and Niabi felt a wad of fear in her chest. Even she was standing with the extremists. It didn't bode well to Niabi.

Lumikani Post 5

Lumikani had been far enough away to walk away from her sister's words, but that didn't mean she didn't hear it. Her back was tense as Anya continued to speak seeming hatred for her actions, claiming she was someone who wanted to kill hybrids. It was hopeless to argue with Anya any longer, the girl would never understand or agree with Lumi's point of view. If a hybrid wanted to support Aisha, she was fine with that. Her great mother was the one who meant everything, and as she said before, she would do anything based on Aisha's will.

If a hybrid followed Aisha, they would be here, they would be safe. But if they did not...they were worse than any crystal faced creature she crossed path with. Forsaking Aisha was something Lumikani knew she would never forgive.

When the twins came to approach Tahigwa, who was still yelling and flashing her weapons, Lumikani felt her face grow hot with anger and frustration. Sure, she was embarrassed for misunderstanding, but her white-hot anger pushed through to the surface, especially with the names that she was being called. When Elsheba pushed past her, lecturing her again, that anger grew to a boil.

"Aisha is our supreme ruler." She began passionately, "...we all were raised on that one proof. Don't mistake my passion for who we are as a demand for war, but, if our great mother speaks through a mystic and asks us to march, I will do my duty as an Alkidike and march."

Her teeth were grinding, and she was astounded that these older Alkidikes seemed so keen to ignore the mystics and ignore the fundamentals of their tribe. Maybe it was because they spent so much time with others, that they did not recall the teachings she had just finished living through. She was only just done with her schooling, but that didn't mean she would forget her lessons.

She almost said more, when suddenly a voice broke out again over the crowd. Her cheeks were still hot with anger as she turned away from both of her sisters and looked on the matron, her eyes keen and her ears perked. She listened, and although she wasn't fully agreeing with the older woman, she could not disagree that based on their history and teachings, this was not how their great tribe would act.

As the extremists cheered, Lumikani turned her softening gaze back toward Elsheba, "You said that it takes more than one Mystic to speak for our mother. Maybe it's time we got the answers we need."

With that, she pushed away from the gathering extremists and toward the mystics, tired of listening to the foolish emotional rabble and ready to follow the will of her great mother.

Vollerei post 5

"She could take you all on, the will to protect those you love lends great stregnth to ones arms. And I don't even need a weapon to stand against you. Nor am I going to draw one simply because your cause is stupid and it would be an insult to justify it by taking you seriously." She said to the idiots on the beach. "Tahigwa is going overboard yes.. but I bet she could hold many of you off... She earned these blades of hers out in the wars.. can any of you say the same?" She glared at the obvious young ages of some of the extremists.

"Pests? You think our people died to pests? You think my adopted daughter's mothers both died to pests? That they are weak?" She growled and rolled her shoulders, popping her neck as she did so. Her stance was getting more aggressive. "Our people died out there! They died not to wipe out pests! They died to defend people! Do not insult their souls by suggesting otherwise, you pathetic anger blind morons!"

Her heart sank when the Matron, who should have been a voice of reason and peace, spoke words of disgust and hate. "I honored you for many years elder... but your words this day shame you! How can you say that? I have been among them! I have fought along side and against earthlings! They are strong! Strong enough to hold our people off from the rest of Juahur! Strong enough, that we could not defeat the Obans without outside aid! Or are you all ignoring the facts and simply seeing things that fit the world you want it to be?" She shook her head in disgust.

"Oh how far we have fallen indeed.. if our Matron speaks filth like this... The earthlings are honorable enemies, worthy of respect at least. But then.. have you ever met them? Ever fought against one?" This last was spoken to the crowd; how could people just... agree with that? Had they not seen the deaths? Had then not seen the strength that the earthlings had?

Kadriye post 4

So many demands of help and aid, so many sisters in need of advice and protecting. How was Kadriye to best divide her time and attention? She did not want to spill the blood of her tribe if she did not need to but peaceful end to this conflict seemed unlikely as more and more voices joined in. She had nearly broke ranks though when one sister spat on the ground.

Then the Matron came forward and spoke, words of war and conquest, but also pride and legacy. It left Kadriye feeling conflicted and her grip on her spear tightened before she turned to face a sister to whom she had never thought she would backtalk.

"We are still a mighty people and the tribe has gained much since your prime matron." The words burned like acid in her throat but Kadriye would make her voice heard. "We have learned from the Earthlings, taken their weapons, tools and techniques and made them both better and our own. We are stronger now than we have ever been. I have seen Aisha's roots kill, Matron, but it is not some desperate strike out like a cowardly blade in the dark. She surrounds, squeezes and take from the ground the power for herself." It had been strange the first time she had come across plants withered by Aisha but even the great mother needed to feed from the soil and could have only so much competition.

"I.. I do not think the Alkidike are meant to destroy the Earthlings, I believe we are meant to transform them. Aisha allows our unions to create sisters, even male sisters. I believe they are to become us, in body, blood and one day spirit." Kadriye had not spoken of this before but it was her belief and her dream. "We will unify Tendaji under Aisha and she will be great mother to all and regain her glory. While the lesser gods are placed beneath her , supporting her as they always should have."

A great pantheon with Aisha as queen and her firstborn people as those guiding the rest of the world to the future and perhaps uncovering more of the past. Alkidkike was not just the name of her tribe but it was and had always been a way of life for those born into it. So it should be for the rest of Tendaji and so Kadriye would make it be if she had her way.

This though, this ill timed and ill advised strike at Sauti, she would claim no kinship with or responsibility for the sisters who partook in it.

Anya post 5

Aya felt her world just.. breaking. her littlest sibling was so blind! So stupid... how could she just blindly follow someones words? Did she not think about them at all? Think that maybe the mystics weren't speaking for Aisha but for themselves? Or did she accept their words as Aisha's no matter what and would do whatever it was they said?
Would you go and kill Nimueh if they said to kill all hybrids? She thought to herself, silently asking her sister who was walking away. She dreaded the answer.

She looked over at Ytizah; "Do people actually think that Aisha is.. infallible? Always right and knows everything about anything? That what the Mystics speak are always her words?"
Did no one ever think that maybe the Mystics were lying? Or twisting what Aisha had said to fit their won needs.. How can I even know that Aisha actually you know. speaks. She thought to herself; what if it's just a baby making tree that the Mystics claim is a goddess?

She sighed; "I'm not sure if it is the food. Lumi and I were raised in Andile.. I think it's more of how we were raised.. but even then... Same mothers.. different beliefs. Apparently my littlest sister is a blind fanatic who doesn't think for herself anymore."

If anything, the Matron's words cemented the young teenager's thoughts on Aisha. Mystics were not telling the truth all the time; they couldn't be. They were people and people could lie. How can two Mystics of two different views both be trusted to not abuse the position they are in? She thought as she heard Kadirye add in her idea.. What a stupid thing; all of us under one tree? No.. that is.. not right. We do not have the right to take away their lands, their lives, their culture and gods.

"I don't trust that old lady." She whispered. "Too much stupidity is coming from her words! Earthlings are strong... I've seen them."

V'demhe Post 5

Her eyes went around the crowd. Never had she imagined that there would be this many extremists in her tribe. V'demhe had to admit that she was disappointed in the Alkidikes. To be this hateful. Aisha couldn't have had this in mind when she gifted her daughters and gave them life. When the Matron stepped forward and spoke, Dem's antennae seemed to droop. "I think I have just lost respect for our people, Mother." The elderly woman standing with her patted her arm but whether or not she was speaking to her earthly mother or her mother tree was to be determined.

Giving her attention momentarily to Maya she forced a smile. "I think I will take my mother home before things get too far out of hand." Without waiting she started to move, she even hoped Maya would come with her. V'demhe wanted to find a way to get off the island. War was not what she wanted. It made things difficult for her.

Bhima- post 3

Bhima's roar of anger may well have mingled with the cries of the extremists and taken for cheers, but it was furthest from it. All she could think of was Hijil back home, of their planned children who now may never be able to happen. Even the matron denied the spread of Alkidike culture to others? What was this?! Who could say that Hijil was not strong or brave or worthy of Aisha's blessing? She lived nearby a large settlement, they interacted with Sisters on a daily basis, but where were their defenders now?!

Nearby, a young Sister spoke up. Her words were a reassuring burst in this crowd of negativity. Spreading Aisha throughout the world, yes. Hybridization and understanding, sure. Who was this young one? She wore quite a bit of face pain-- markings. Those were markings. A mystic?! Here they had a mystic speaking against the extremists and still they would not listen. She gave a loud "yah"[/coor] of agreement as the mystic spoke. She never imagined that she would go against the greatest of Alkidike but her view of this society was trembling down. Blatant racism had been the way of the old world, did they want all of these Sisters to believe they had merely been using the Earthlings as extra hands against the Obans? Even going to their lands to protect them! An old, familiar fury was rising in Bhima's chest and she wasn't sure what to do to quell it.

(Please excuse this horrible woman, Tahigwa why)
Tahigwa, post 4

Tahigwa looked as though she were rabid and clenched her swords until her knuckles turned white. Weak, rats, these words were like kindling to the fire in her chest, but the words of her daughters kept it at a steady low. Slowly, she seemed to find a shred of reason and moved an inch toward Zahra, her gaze falling upon Vollerei awkwardly. No, she didn't want to be sat on, and she'd feel even more paranoid about the invasion of space. Her breath puffed out rhythmically as if her mind were trying to subconsciously calm her down, until the Matron's voice from behind her brought her rage back like a volcano awakened by an earthquake.

"Hags like you should leave the decisions to the youth, you are no longer of importance!" She screamed, throwing herself back through the crowd. "And we aren't some birds, you pile of glorified wrinkles! Perhaps in your time you were hatched from a pile of rotten eggs, but if I recall my mother's words correctly, I bloomed. And I will continue to flourish under my own guidance if that is what Aisha seems to have planned out for me!"

She seethed, her teeth moving forward to pull her lips backward, before her next words came out like daggers.

"If you take the land from the Earthlings and continue to destroy everything I have ever held faith in, I will not hesitate to murder each and every extremist and extremist sympathizer that participated in such a massacre." She continued, staring straight into the Matron's eyes. "I will make my own army and I will raise my own flag, and I will stand by my brother's people until the day I die! Mark my words!"

Zahra Post 5

Zahra went sort of stock still as the arguments continued with the Matron, someone who it seemed was their former mystic before Eshe and the others, spoke up. Instead of an elder's voice of reason she seemed instead to be one who seemed to support the extremists, making it seem as though those of the who were born of late were nothing but a bunch of weaklings due to them opening their hearts and minds to the Earthlings. It was then that she started to feel a bit of despair in the pit of her stomach. Didn't that mean there was a split between the mystics? Those who supported the war and those who didn't? That meant the arguments would just get worse and she was already tired of hearing those on the side of the extremists as they all but begged for the blood of those who weren't as they were.

Lifting a hand she poked at her crooked antennae for a moment, "Feh. I am sure after you get rid of the hybrids and the Earthlings then you will what? Find new people to sate your ideals of perfection on? Look at those who are different and get rid of them too? Why not weed out those like Ilyra or myself next, those who were born with odd little hiccups? I won't be around for that." Lifting a hand she waved it in a dismissive manner. She was tired already and she just wanted to go, but she wouldn't do so without Jowe.

Walking over to where she'd left her twin behind she held her hands out to her, "Come on, Jowe-Jo. I think we should go. I came for a festival and for fun, I didn't come to watch our sisters tear each other apart like witu. Even mother seems to be going too far, talking about murder likes it's something done so easily. I want to leave, JoJo, either to where our Uncle is or further, preferably in the opposite direction of Sauti." She murmured quietly to her twin.
