While Scyther tirelessly battled the rock-fairy type pokemon, JD had his head turned and bowed, listening. There were so many other pokemon still coming… but he was pretty sure he recognized the cries of some of them. He lifted his head, occasionally turning to try and get a better listen as the wind shifted. Mawile… he was almost sure of it. And he definitely wanted one of those.

As the final Carbink appeared, JD shifted, turning towards Oshawott, but speaking loud enough that Scyther could hear. ”Lookee ‘ere, Osh. There’re a couple o’ steel-fury type pok’mon comin’. Ahma needja ta go at ‘em with all ya get, alright? They ain’t weak ‘gainst these sorta moves like the rest o’ ‘em,” he said. Oshawott looked up, but then put on a determined look, balling up his paws and nodding. ”Osh!” JD smirked, straightening up and turning as Scyther defeated the rock-fairy pokemon and stepped up. ”Good man. Le’s get ‘em.”

The Mawile came together, and Oshawott boldly faced off the first one, bracing himself, then leaping forward, smacking it with the steeled attack he had learned before. Luckily, it seemed just enough to K.O. the pokemon, and JD smirked straightening and relaxing. "G'job, Osh. Now jus' keep et up with thuh other one," he urged, tossing out a pokeball to catch the steel-fairy pokemon.

When the next one vengefully leaped forward to try and attack, Oshawott was ready, smacking it back with the same attack that had brought down its sibling. Jacque reached up, rubbing his temple a bit, and tossing out a pokeball. It failed, but the second attempt worked, and, like he'd been doing with the others, he sent it to his PC. It was starting to dawn on him that he might need to be a bit careful, just so he didn't accidentally over train either of his pokemon. He fully intended to get a badge after this, at the very least, and he was pretty sure he had some leeway on levels before he ran the risk of either of them getting too powerful. Personally, he couldn't imagine Scy disobeying him... but he wasn't sure on Oshawott, and it was always possible the Scyther might surprise him.

Jacque quirked an eyebrow at the pokemon that appeared after he caught the Mawile. There had been a brief pause, during which he'd tried to focus, listening, frowning at the snuffling sounds that greeted him. What the...? He had to use his pokedex again-- apparently the pokemon was 'Snubbull', another fairy type (no surprise). He clicked his tongue a couple times to get an idea of it. Huh... He wasn't sure how popular it would be, but he figured he might as well catch a few of them. There seemed to be one, for now... but he could hear another in the distance, mixed with with a few other unfamiliar pokemon calls.

Another snuffling Snubbull made an appearance, and Oshawott swiftly took it down as well. He called the poor water pokemon back, though, as he tossed a pokeball, letting him take a break so Scyther could at least temporarily take over. This was even better than the tall grass!

Jay was fairly sure there were more of those pokemon coming, but whatever was before him most definitely wasn't a Snubbull. It was... gentler. It softly sang it's name, and, using his pokedex, he could confirm it was a 'Flabebe'. There were a few more near it, but honestly, he knew nothing of this pokemon. He figured two or three was probably a soft bet, probably three, since their gentler nature seemed likely to be more appealing to others. Personally, he wasn't so sure he'd be keeping one for himself... but at worst, if he wasn't able to find someone interested after a while, he could probably release 'em.

The next one went down with relative ease as well, and his pokemon seemed to be getting the hang of this. JD relaxed, turning to Zoey, who was resting on his shoulder, and Jesse, who was on the ground beside him, watching, her wings occasionally fluttering as she observed. "If y'all want, yer more'n welcome ta go play some o' thuh games, gurls," he remarked, both looking to him, "Ah think me'n the boys got this, 'n ya haven' got much've a chance since we arrived here." Zoey and Jesse seemed to exchanged looks, before the zubat gave a screech of confirmation, and jumped off his shoulder. Jesse buzzed uncertainly, but turned, hop-flying after the zubat and heading towards the festivities. Jay didn't quite turn with them, but he did keep his head turned, listening until he lost the sound of Jesse's buzzing, and then looked back to toss another pokeball out.

There was one more of the Flabebe type, and JD turned his head, listening in to try and track what pokemon was next to come. Scyther was starting to breath a bit heavily, and Oshawott was just about recovered after his break, so he planned to switch them in for whatever came next. He couldn't... quite pick up what it was, though. He heard it rustling over the grass occasionally, though with odd inconsistency, but whatever the pokemon were, they weren't making a lot of noise.

Using his echolocation, Jacque was able to get a faint idea of the pokemon Oshawott was facing off against, clicking his tongue, then resigning to the pokedex to get more information once he had an idea of what they were. Fairy grass, huh... It was a good thing his pokemon were obviously a lot faster than these things, otherwise Oshawott would have been the wrong choice to send out. It seemed he was still easily able to obliterate the pokemon, though, K.Oing it instantly so that JD could send out another pokeball, and catch it. It was a good thing he'd been given so many pokeballs to start out with...

With two more left, JD decided to catch only one, letting Oshawott knock it out with the same attack. He would wait and see what else came, and just catch two of each new species that showed up. He could feel his pack getting substantially lighter as he caught more and more pokemon and sent them to his PC. He would undoubtedly have to refill once the swarm lightened up a bit, and he was able to actually make a trip to the mart. And when he did, he would have to check and see how many pokemon he actually had, too. Boy... that would be an endeavor.

JD tucked his pokedex away. He could hear the next few pokemon coming his way and he knew what they were. Oshawott wiped out the last Cottonee, but blinked, quickly stepping back and looking down at himself. He was... glowing? "O-osh...?" He looked up, eyes wide as the light got brighter, but of course, his trainer had no idea. "Wha's wrong, Osh? Somethin' goin' wrong?" he asked, frowning and stepping worriedly forward. The light around his pokemon grew brighter, then finally, dimmed. "De! Dewott!" the water pokemon chirruped in surprise. "Waddinthuh hell..." Jay lifted his hand, quickly snapping his fingers a few times, then raising his eyebrows in surprise. Oshawott's form had... changed. So he'd evolved? "Well ahm assumin' ya jus' don evolved, Osh! That or ya done sum hellova switch on me... Congrats!" he remarked, smirking a bit and straightening up, "Lesse whatjur proper name is..." He reached back, pulling out his pokedex. So it was Dewott. He was pretty sure that was what he'd heard the pokemon say, but they used so many parts of their names in so many different orders, he wasn't really sure if he could conclude that, and he certainly didn't want to go around calling his pokemon the wrong name. Well... how do you like that. The first of his pokemon to evolve... at least, that didn't have to hide it from him by going to the Day Care.

He'd probably catch another of these if they showed up, just in case, but he wasn't sure there were much more on the way, anyway. He couldn't hear them... least, not over the sounds of the other pokemon.

Welp, seemed he was right. As he caught the Igglybuff and sent it to his PC, a small clutter of Azurill appeared. He nodded to Dewott, given the Iron Tail was their only chance of continuing with one-hit K.O.'s, and then bowed his head. He'd catch a couple, but he wanted to see what else was on the way. And whether he needed to go get more pokeballs or not.

Another Azurill, but Jay could tell the pokemon already approaching weren't the same type. He would have to switch Scyther in for a bit, give Dewott a break for a little while. If there ended up being too many of them, though... and they were all different types... he was going to have to make a run for the poke mart before he could even hope to catch any more of them.
