Inside it is much warmer. The two young women find themselves in a square entry way with benches along the walls. There is a hallway going forward, going left, and going right. The forward hall is short enough that they can see a flight of stairs at the end, where as the halls to the left and right turn, so it is not immediately apparent where they lead. Cytheria gives Sheridan a grateful smile and moves to sit on one of the benches, leaning her back and head against the wall. Listlessly she places her hands in her lap. "I feel so tired," she murmurs. ((OOC: Sorry this took so long. Things have been crazy here the last several days...it feels like forever though.))

Sheridan slid down the wall next to Cytheria and sighed contently. "Today's been pretty weird, hasn't it?" She couldn't help but play with the ends of her dress, the sparkly silk flowing between her thin fingers like a waterfall of fashion. She had never worn such a dress before and wanted it so very badly to stay. The goddess Ianaya had blessed her with such a beautiful, swishy dress, and she, ever so grateful, prayed her thanks to her. She would have to leave an offering of sage when she returned home. ((OOC: Please don't worry about it! Also, it might be confusing, but I revived the Immortals, and Sheridan is now a human in that universe. She is still fourteen and looks the same, and will be attending a dance. Not much different than before))

"I think that's a pretty good way to describe the day so far, yes," Cytheria says tiredly, closing her eyes. "I can't say I've ever had one like it before." She sighs softly. "I wonder if it might not be better, though I would hate to think that I might distress my Uncle even further," she muses, raising a hand to her cheek thoughtfully. ((OOC: Couldn't keep away from it?))

Sheridan's eyes met the floor once again, and she said, "Are you feeling any better?" She wasn't sure if she could do anything to help if Cytheria said she wasn't any better. The Immortals hadn't picked her, and she didn't blame them. Sheridan's hands suddenly jerked and glowed light blue. Before she could stop herself, her hands were at Cytheria's forehead, glowing and pulsing blue. A few moments later, Sheridan withdrew her shaking, clammy hands. Breathing heavily through her mouth, she jumped up. She felt energized, though this mostly came from her confusion, as she anxiously paced back and forth, thinking about what had just happened. It was like Etaêve's healing magic. But that was impossible. Even Immortals didn't have magic that could be used so involuntarily and so quickly. She felt light as air. ((OOC: It's hard to stay away from something that consumes almost every waking thought and shows up in dreams. sweatdrop I love it though))

Cytheria looks dazed for a few moments. After all, a blue light on her face wasn't what she was expecting. After her surprise fades, she realizes that her tiredness has been washed away. Sitting up straight, she peers at Sheridan. "I didn't know you could do something like that. Forgive me, but you didn't seem like the sort of person who could manipulate magic," she whispers in awe.

"I didn't know I could either," Sheridan replied slowly as she paced nervously. "That kind of power is the kinds the gods use. And they know I wasn't ever good enough for the Immortals." Her voice broke as she said, "My sister is an Immortal. I want to be just like her." She faced Cytheria and said, "Either way, should we get moving? Maybe we can see everything if we're high enough up the tower." She smoothed her dress again. The fabric wasn't a feeling she wanted to forget.

"I know nothing about gods," Cytheria says. "Some people worship them, but that is not common anymore. But it was more common in my birthtown than it is in my current town. We simply venerate the Land and all that it gives us." She tilts her head to the side. "Do you mean true Immortals? People who can never die? Or just those who don't age?" she inquires. Standing up, she discovers that her restored energy wasn't just a passing sensation. "That's actually a very good idea. We can at least go to the stairs and see how high they will take us." Moving towards the center hall, she gestures for Sheridan to come with her. "I've never had a sister, or a brother," she notes.

"Really?" Sheridan asked, confused. "The deities are so important to us. They're the ones who gave the Immortals their powers, and we are all taken care of by the gods and goddesses, even if the Immortals are a bunch of... Well, a bunch of poopheads!" She sighed and said quietly, "Immortals don't age, and they live forever unless you take away their objects. Though, some of them have tattoos now." Sheridan dashed off after Cytheria as she said, "Having siblings is weird. My sister and I don't get along anymore." She hoped they would just focus on the tower. She didn't want to think about home, or what mission Claudette would have her do, or how much training she would need until she was anywhere near as good as Jericho, let alone Claudette.

"I think I would have liked a brother better," Cytheria muses. "But what you are describing sounds a little bit like our Lord Shayden. He's been the same age for so long while everyone else ages. Well, there's also his right hand man, from what I've heard, who doesn't age either. I haven't been in that land long enough to know for sure. It could be some sort of elaborate trick for all I know, though I don't know how such a thing would be accomplished." Slowly they ascend the stairs, the sounds of their footsteps being heard between bits of conversation. After a while they reach a small landing with doors on either side, and a spiral staircase continuing upwards at the far end. "Should we try the doors, or keep going up?" Cytheria asks the younger girl.

"I've heard brothers are the worst if you're a girl," Sheridan said. "You're an only child, then. How peculiar." Her feet loudly slapped against the stone floor as they ascended the staircase. She hoped Cytheria didn't notice it, but her face flushed red as her eyes met the ground. "Sounds like you have Immortals where you're from, too," Sheridan said, her voice a little sad. "They're pretty mean. I hope they don't give you any trouble." Her right hand found her left wrist as she moved to cover her slave marks. The bands around her wrists and upper arms, the stripes down her thighs and the swirls around her ankles made her feel... Almost lesser than Cytheria. If only Claudette knew where she was... Oh, gods, she would be in so much trouble! "Let's see what's in there," Sheridan said quickly.

"I suppose it would depend on the brother," Cytheria counters. If she thinks of Sheridan as any 'less' it isn't apparent. As far as anyone could tell, she's being polite and makes an effort to consider the other girl's point of view. "I'm an only child because the doctors said it would be dangerous for my mother to have a second child, so she never did." Cytheria shrugs her shoulders and turns her head slightly to the side; it had only been a couple years ago that her parents died, so it wasn't always easy for her to speak of them. Finally they reach the top of the stairs. There's a trap door above them, and she pushes upwards. At first the wood creaks and protests against the movement. She rests for a moment. "I don't know if I would call the Lord mean. He's very strict, and some of his punishments are harsh, but as long as people follow the laws, he doesn't seem inclined to interfere with people's day to day lives." Looking up she eyes the trap door. "Do you want to try this, or should I give it another go?"

"Yeah, that's true, I guess," Sheridan said, quietly. "Doctors?" She wrinkled her brow at the thought. "You mean like a healer?" Sheridan glanced up at the trap door, wondering if she could push it open at all. Cytheria seemed to have trouble with it. "I see," Sheridan replied quietly. "I'll give it a go." She pushed up on the trap door, but it barely budged. She frowned as she tested the door once again. She positioned herself further away from the door, and taking a running start, she sprang into the air, backflipped, and sissorkicked the door off of its hinges. Rolling back, she climbed to her feet. "Claudette taught me how to do that," Sheridan said hastily, her voice squeaky.

Cytheria's jaw drops slightly and she looks at the younger girl in awe. "I've never seen anyone moved like that. Hopefully no one will get mad that you broke the door. Then again, we haven't really seen anyone else." she says. "Who is Claudette that she could teach you such things?" Then she realizes that she was asked a question. "Yes, doctors are healers.
