Not that Mercy wanted anything to do with Riko, but her pride took a slight hit when Riko repeated herself. If Riko wanted Mercy, Mercy would know. So, then, clearly Riko didn't want Mercy. Part of Mercy wanted to make Riko want her, just to see if she could do it. Riko certainly thought a lot of herself. It would be satisfying to lure the girl in, to see her fall in this way...
Mercy, still grinning, shrugged. "Hmm, well, I guess we'll never know, will we? Unless..." She stood and walked over to Riko. Bending over slightly so the two were nearly eyelevel, Mercy gently took Riko's chin and dragged her hand up, her fingers carressing the top of the vampire's neck, her jaw, her chin, and, finally, her lips. Her fingertips lingered over Riko's lips and pressed lightly against them. "Unless you think we should settle this once and for all."
Elle, naturally, didn't have any idea what was going on. But she was almost done with her bottle.

Riko couldn't help but shiver, so hard that she had to roll her shoulder and turn her neck just a little to try and downplay the feelings that had just surged through her. She struggled to keep her eyes on Mercy as she felt the girls hand roam over her, tickling the skin where ever they went, Riko couldn't help but licks her lips a little now, feeling a bit hot, a bit bothered, her turquoise eyes darkened to a more pure blue. "Are you suggesting casual sex wolf?" Riko asked hotly, there was a red tint to her cheeks now. On impulse, Riko took the tips of Mercy's fingers into her mouth, and applied a slight pressure to them with her teeth.

Mercy hadn't expected to react so strongly to Riko's response. As her fingers slipped into the vampire's mouth, Mercy's breathing grew shallower and her body grew warmer. But she couldn't tear her eyes away from Riko's, from those pits of sudden, shocking blue. "Well, I wasn't about to propose, if that's what you're asking," she responded in a breathy, seductive whisper. She was about to make a next move--whatever it would be... she didn't know yet--and call Riko on her bluff, but then a resounding thud interrupted her thoughts.
Elle's bottle had fallen.
Startled out of the moment, Mercy withdrew her hand from Riko's mouth and picked up the bottle. She grabbed the plates and forks, too, and took everything over to the sink to start washing them. The unease Riko had created was still in her bones, but she was ignoring it. "When you're ready, let's go to the store," she said.

The bottle dropping iced the situation rather quickly which was probably for the best, Riko was honestly a little afraid of how far this could go for them. She didn't know her boundaries with Mercy if sex between them was suddenly something that could happen. Riko shook her head a bit, licking her lips faintly where the warmth from Mercy's fingers still lingered. Riko looked down at Elle still in her lap, it would of been awkward trying to manage her during all of this. It was probably a good thing that cooler heads had prevailed. Riko stood hugging the girl to her side as she moved over to where Mercy stood near the sink, washing dishes. She bumped the girls hip with her own, hitting a little low due to height. "I'm ready to head out, I assume we're walking, no car seat yet."

Mercy jumped a little--not noticably, but yes, just a little--when Riko bumped into her. She was still on high alert, her senses more reactive due to the nature of their conversation. She finished washing the dishes, dried them, then put them away.
"Oh, yeah. I guess so." She hadn't thought of that. Honestly, she had figured Riko could ride with the baby in her arms, and Mercy would drive especially careful, slow. She realized now, though, how dangerous that was. Mercy went to pull on her sneakers, and then they walked to the nearest store.
It wasn't the best shop for this kind of thing, maybe, but there were ads for baby-related items in the window. And it was too hot to carry Elle everywhere. Grabbing a cart from outside, Mercy strolled through the automatic doors. "I got a bunch of stuff already, but... I feel like this is something we'll never really be prepared for," she said, clearly doubtful. The store she had gone to yesterday had overwhelmed her. There were too many things to buy, to consider.

Riko squeezed in besides Mercy to seat Elle into the cart, making sure that her legs went clearly through the little holes provided. "Well for anything we miss, or that may pop up there is always the internet." Riko said easily walking into the air conditioned sore with Mercy. "I doubt there is anything out there that we will need that I can't have delivered to us with a quickness." Riko had club cards with maxed points on them specifically because of her repeated services to many stores, she was an honored customer, and she had all the perks that came with it. "Se we have diapers, food and that. I guess we need clothes, a car seat... maybe weaker soap for her to bathe with....and....?" Riko was just as lost really. There were a lot of things that they could possibly need to make sure that Elle was as comfortable as possible.

"... and...?"
And the list went on. The question was no longer, "What will Elle need?" Now it was, "What will Elle not need?" Mercy chewed her lip as they began browsing the baby aisle. Everything looked necessary. "She's not even a normal baby, either," Mercy murmured. "Who knows what the wolf in her is going to want." Mercy threw a few onesies into the cart, then she grabbed some toys--a pacifier, a plastic ring of fake keys, a rattle. Soap, picture books, blankets, socks. Good thing Mercy made decent money at the steakhouse.
As they approached the furniture, Mercy unconsciously smiled to herself. "Too bad we don't have extra space for a nursery," she mused. "Could be fun to decorate. But we're not always going to be able to share a room with her. What'll we do when she's grown?"

"Will she eat more than normal?" Riko asked with a frown placing a hand under her chin, she wasn't actually sure about wolf diets especially not that of a infant wolf, but they had better learn fast. Riko reached for the young girls mouth, spreading her lips slightly. "She has teeth....." Riko feared the fact that the girl had teeth, that meant she would be sinking them into everything soon enough. Not only that, but she might be wanting to eat more solid foods.... Meat instantly came into Riko's mind. Shaking her head she went to Mercy's point. "Well we have a basement, so if push comes to shove, we can put you in there and give her your room." She suggested with a shrug as if that was the most obvious choice to make.

Wait... what? Mercy could move to the basement? Frowning, Mercy slowed to a halt and turned to look at Riko. "You mean the unfinished basement?" she questioned, annoyed. "The one we found a ******** snake in last month? Yeah, no, that's not going to happen." She grumbled a few profanities under her breath--something about Riko taking one for the team, except with sarcasm and worded more strongly. Mercy resumed their cruise down the aisle and turned into the next. "Why don't you take it?" she asked. "I thought you guys love dark, dank spaces?" (You guys obviously referred to the vampire race.)
She sighed and threw a bottle of baby powder into the cart. "I guess maybe we'll... have to move? Or kick out Harry or Delorna." Mercy could live without Delorna, especially after their conversation yesterday.

"Hey.... It's getting there." Riko defended raising a hand defensively. The basement was a bit...... of an issue. Honestly they had just opted to lock the door and pretend the room didn't exist for the most part, it wasn't like anyone was going to break into their house through the basement and even if they did they would be very disappointed in what awaited them that was for sure. To counter Mercy's argument she pretended to think long and hard about taking over the basement herself, of course that s**t wasn't happening but it was fun to think it over anyway. "The attic checks off on every little niche that I could ask for, so no I won't be shifting down there. But you still can, I mean its almost a kennel." Riko offered innocently. "One made of mossy brick and soaked wood." She finished. She was sure one day their house would sink into that basement if they didn't fix it up. "I got it!" Riko realized now having an idea when Mercy mentioned their roommates. "We'll put Harry in there, he's a damn ghost, not like he needs a room." Riko reasoned nodding.

(Of course, that s**t wasn't happening... Don't know why I found that so funny, but I did. XD I love Mercy and Riko's dynamic.)
A kennel? Why the hell would Mercy ever want to live in something that resembled a kennel? Did Riko know wolves that liked being restrained? Wolves were free creatures. They weren't meant to be in cages. They were meant to--
Jesus, why was she thinking so deeply into this?
Mercy glared at Riko. "Do you even hear what you say sometimes?"
Moving Harry to the basement sounded like a good plan in theory, but Mercy knew he would never go for it. Dead or not, he had insisted that he got his own room, even if he couldn't contribute to rent, and he had even gotten someone to decorate it for him. He was a little different now, for whatever reason, but his new child-like personality would probably be afraid of the basement. Still, maybe? Mercy offered a grunt somewhere between approval and skepticism in reply.
"Or we could just tell Delorna to take a hike," she suggested, sounding strangely hopeful, like she wanted Riko to support her. Entering the area with the furniture, Mercy began inspecting cribs.

"My ears work darling." Riko mused as she walked along side Mercy her hands behind her back as she kicked her legs out in front of her in a bit of a lazy stroll. Giving her jolly disposition, and punk style, with the dyed hair and all, Riko would admit that she did look a bit impish a though that only came to her because she noticed a few looks that she and Mercy had been getting, upon further observation however she realized maybe these people especially these older women weren't looking at them because they were afraid that she might knock em over for the heck of it, but more or less because she was with Mercy who was pushing a cart that had a baby in it. A child that looked like neither of them. Riko snorted to herself shaking her head. It mattered not to her what these people thought of here, it never really bothered Riko in the past, what others thought. Now would be no different. "We can't kick Delorna out," Riko said, picking up a stroller from a bundle of em in boxes inside of a bin, she tested the bits of it she can work with from inside the box. "Sometimes we ********, I'd like to keep her in reach for that, when I'm feeling a bit lonely some nights." Riko said casually with a shrug as if admitting to this was as normal as breathing. She turned to Mercy now fully, holding up the stroller. "Think we need this?"(I feel anyone else would have throttled Riko by now.)

(Most likely, yes. XD)
Mercy couldn't see what Riko was holding up because she was currently on the floor.
Hearing Riko's confession had skewed Mercy's coordination and caused the wolf to lose her balance. Struggling to get back onto her feet, she stared at Riko with wide, disbelieving eyes. "I'm sorry... what?" she sputtered, clearly having a difficult time swallowing this news. None of this should have been surprising to her, really, nor should it have warranted the reaction she was giving. Still, she just couldn't wrap her head around it. "You and Delorna, you two--" Realizing her voice was perhaps a touch too loud (and already drawing attention from other customers, children included), she paused, collected herself, and continued more softly, "You two <********> Mercy let out a noise somewhere between disgust and utter shock, and she grabbed the stroller from Riko and threw it into the cart. "How often is 'sometimes'?"

Much unlike herself Riko burst into a fit of laughter at Mercy's reaction, doubling in her laughter, her sides hurt they actually hurt, and her eyes were watering up. "Was it really that surprising? Succubus and a vampire couplings aren't that weird" Riko insisted shaking her head a bit as Mercy slowly gathered herself back up from the floor, she wondered if Mercy's out burst, throwing names about carelessly would dissuade the notion from any watching that the two of them were together, no they would all now know that Riko might be involved with some mystery woman named Delorna. Riko chuckled again shaking her head. "Yes, we do. God what is so shocking about that?" Riko asked laughing again. "How often.......? Um...." Riko held up her hands, counting, recalling moments they had spent together. "I don't know really, but we've only done it two times this week." Riko said with a nonchalant shrug..... it was only Thursday.

"Only two times?" Mercy repeated, dumbfounded. It was Thursday. Twice was a lot--twice was something to aspire to as a single woman. Ugh, but Delorna of all people... Of course, there had been a time when Mercy had fantasized about her. Delorna was a confident, seductive woman with curves upon curves and an impressive vocabulary. She was anyone's dream. But Delorna and Mercy didn't get along, and the tension between them left no room for anything else.
Mercy made a face and began scanning the row of carseats. "I just don't like not knowing what's going on in my house, is all," she explained. Her cheeks were the faintest tint of red, evidence that she was a bit embarrassed by her own reaction to the news. Not to mention, images of Riko and Delorna wrapped around each other were invading her head, and it was making her sick. Yuck. "And it's not that big of a house. I don't know how I missed it."
