Vinny Leavitt "I guess that's why you remembered." Vinny laughed. "I've never been to Ireland, or much of Europe. The band I'm in has toured in London, but that's about it when it comes to Europe. They're trying to get more concerts up there. It shouldn't be too hard, I think they're more focused on schedule conflicts." He gave Dexter a sideways glance. "Where else have you been?" he asked.

Dexter Olsen "Hey, pay attention!"He chuckled, then stared up at the sky in thought. " Nowhere until I was divorced. I mostly stayed in New Orleans, only leaving for my honeymoon. After we split up, though, I went overseas to teach. I have visited every continent except Antarctica and taught in over 30 countries." He looked back to Vinny, offering a smile. " Including Japan." Laughing a little, he nodded at the guitarist. " What about you? Can you remember all the places you've been?" "I get paid to teach your stupid butt, not amuse you!"

Vinny Leavitt"I grew up in Montana, then moved to Tokyo." Vinny started. "The band toured in every region of Japan and about every country in Asia, but that's about it. We're only recently branching out. This is the first time most of the band's ever been to America. I'm just glad to finally speak English again." he laughed a little. "Everyone tried practicing their English on me before we left. It was exhausting."

Dexter Olsen"Hey, pay attention!"Dexter was quiet for a moment, then spoke in stunted and terribly accented Japanese. " This to being all that I know in the Japanese." Knowing himself that it was terrible, the teacher laughed at himself and shook his head. " I guess I'm better at French." "I get paid to teach your stupid butt, not amuse you!"

Vinny LeavittIt took a moment for Vinny to process what Dexter said, not ready for the sudden switch in languages, but he laughed when he figured it out. "That was good. Could use more practice, but it was good!" he commented back in Japanese merely to be nice, and a little mean since he knew Dexter wouldn't be able to understand that much.
"You speak French?" he asked in English again. "What other languages do you know? Tell me some things."

Dexter Olsen"Hey, pay attention!"Pouting when Vinny replied in fantastic Japanese, Dexter only brightened once more when he was asked about his language skills. " Of course I know French!" he exclaimed in the language, as close to perfection as a non-native speaker could get. " I'm from New Orleans, a Creole in my own right. I've been speaking French since I was a child." When asked what other languages he knew, he held up his hand, counting them on his fingers. " I'm also decently fluent in Deutsch, Italiano, and Português. I'm learning Spanish, but it's hard to find the time. All the languages I know I had to learn because I ended up in those countries, teaching." He grinned cheekily. " What all languages do you know?" "I get paid to teach your stupid butt, not amuse you!"

Vinny LeavittVinny smiled absentmindedly as Dexter spoke fluent French. It sounded French, that's all he could tell. He couldn't understand a single word, and for all he knew he was being made fun of.
When the teacher returned to English, Vinny shook his head at the question. "Afraid Japanese and English are the only ones I know." he said with a shrug. "I know only tidbits of Mandarin and Vietnamese and other Asian languages, but only because of concerts." Even then most of the songs played featured only Kenshin singing, and sometimes they would have large, digital screens that had the words in the city's language.

Well, the best part about being a teacher in foreign lands is that the students are almost always more than happy to teach you their foreign language so long as you help them study for good marks in English." Dexter reached for his phone, pulling it out to open a folder marked Paris - 2012. " Here, these were some of my kids back in France. This is Angol, Marie, Violette, Abella, and Nathalia." The girls were all about fifteen or sixteen, arms wrapped around their laughing teacher and all grinning excitedly. " They all still send me pictures and letters, all in either terrible English or informal French." "I get paid to teach your stupid butt, not amuse you!"

Vinny LeavittVinny looked at the picture. It was interesting seeing what Dexter looked like years ago, and so happy too. "What changed your personality?" he asked out of the blue and looked at the teacher. "This was after your divorce too, right? Was it because of Akito that you started being more distant with students here?"

Dexter Olsen"Hey, pay attention!"He shook his head, scratching his cheek. " Nothing like that. I started acting out as a teacher whenever my dad got sick and I had to come back to care for him, I think. That's when all that I'd been running from hit me. I mean, I was divorced, rarely saw my little girl, couldn't bring it up in court because I honestly don't know if she's even mine, had no real friends to speak of except for the foreign teens I'd met on my travels. All that rained down on me in an instant, and I became distant towards everyone." Dexter shrugged, looking back to Vinny. " Well, not everyone. I'm pretty decent to you, now, and Reed and Alan are two of my closest friends. I guess I've started getting better." "I get paid to teach your stupid butt, not amuse you!"

Vinny Leavitt"It sounds like you hit Rock Bottom then, so all that's left to do is move up." Vinny said. As cheesy as it sounded, that saying got him through tough times. He looked down when he felt eyes on him and tossed the man a smile. "Like I said before, if you ever want to talk about it or vent I'll listen."

Vinny Leavitt"You'd be surprised. One day everything just might rain down on you again. Or you'll get a bad day." the guitarist shrugged. He stopped once they reached the school doors and lowered his guitar. Tilting his head back, he saw that the rain had stopped save the occasional drop of a stray, well, drop. "We're here." he announced, then coughed awkwardly at how unnecessary that comment was. "I guess I'll see you tonight?" he more asked than stated as he looked at Dexter. It almost felt like he was dropping off his date, though he supposed he'd really experience that later today.

 Felix limped into the garden after the elevator doors opened. He took in a deep breath through his nose, allowing him to enjoy the aromas of the plants around him. "Aaah... Oh how I've missed that. Oh how I wonder how the forests back home are blooming. Their golden lotuses and dark blue roses. The beautiful sunsets over the mountain ranges. Aah, oh how I miss them." He made his way through the rows of plants and flowers, stopping occasionally to feel and smell the flowers that caught his eye. After he had purveyed the rows he moved over to the edge and sat on the edge of the building, letting his legs dangle as he swung them back and forth. He took off his backpack and sat it beside him alongside the two crutches. This removal allowed his cloak to flow with the wind. He removed his hood from his head and let it sit on his shoulders. His short hair rustling in the wind and his ears listening to the sounds of the forest around his new home.
