Bare bottomed? He looked down at himself and blinked with his good eye. Hmm. So he was. "Best a$$ ye ever seen!" He joked, throwing his head back in a hearty laugh. "I'll be alright. Take the time to rest 'fore we set out 'gain." With his intact hand, he reached up to gently wipe one of her cheeks. "'n I'll try not to. Hate to make a pretty gal cry."

A small smile came over her face as she leaned into his hand. "Good, I'll be back soon." She pulled from him slowly so that he wouldn't lose his balance, then moved down the hallway back towards the snake pit. Before she left, she turned to look back at him as she set down the lantern to keep some light down there for her to get back by and for him to see by. "And yes, it is the best one I've seen."
Her wings spread out and she slipped up into the air again, flying up the 30 feet drop and landing on the edge of the pit. "Oy! News from the Cap'n!" She belted out at, using a louder voice to get their attention. He was out of the pit of snakes, so pissing off those legless reptiles wasn't going to do any harm.

He grinned broadly at her agreement to his booty, and slumped against the wall so it was keeping him up. He watched her go back down the hall before going up. As soon as he was sure she was gone, he slowly slid down the wall to sit. Then, he pulled up his bloody leg. Literally bloody leg. With his slide he felt more tears on it, undoubtedly from bites. But his leg had a sizable gash. He took the remaining tatters of his shirt to wrap around in an impromptu bandage. "Argghh....First my hand, then my eye, I better not lose a leg or I swears I'm settin those snakes ablaze."Black Jack sat with his back against the doorframe, there waiting with three other crewmates as the rest went out to do his bidding. He had stayed behind in order to coordinate whoever got back first. He hadn't expected Andromeda to be the first. "Shhh! Ye said to shut yer trap! The snakes, 'member?"

"Aye, I do. He's safe." She paused to let it sink in to every Pae there. "The Cap'n is safely out of the way of the snakes. A passage opened in the walls, and we moved down it. It's possible it's a way out. If anything, it's a place away from that pit."
She paused to see what Black Jack was going to order. He was in charge up here, and he'd know what best to do right now. All she wanted to do was get back to Darias."

Well. That was a relief. He sighed before nodding. "A'ight. I'll call off the search inside the temple, since we got time back. This place be dangerous. We'll get the rope still in case ye don't find an exit." As he stood, the large pae's muscles rippled under his skin. Powerful. "See if it be a way out. But if yer not out in 30 clicks, turn back 'round and we'll get ye out with the rope. Map yer way so you don't get lost."

Andromeda was so thankful that Black Jack was an ally, because she was pretty sure he could pop her head like a grape. "Aye, Black Jack. We'll be careful."
She unfolded her wings and drifted back down into the pit. As she got closer to where she saw the lantern light, she saw a glint to the side. Through all the decay and snakes, there was Darias' hook, picking up the tiniest bit of light. Careful of the snakes, she got close enough to pick it up, as well as the hat and eye patch that were laying close, before she flew through the opening in the wall and landed.
Picking up the lantern, she placed the hat on her head and then walked down the hall until she reached Darias. "Miss me? I brought you presents." She grinned under the hat, knowing this was the only time she'd ever get to wear it, and offered him his hook and eye patch in her hand, the lantern still in the other hand.

He looked up from his leg as he heard Andromeda approach, tidying up stragling pieces of cloth so they wouldn't trip him up. Somehow his sword had remained on his hip all that time, which he used to cut off the pieces. "Like water on an island lass." He spoke dryly before noticing the garments in her hands. His good hand lifted to his head, then his eye. Sure enough, not there. He quickly scrambled back onto his feet so he could make a swipe at the hat on top of her head. "Oi! Yer not a cap'n yet!"

She leaned in, not fighting him reclaiming his hat. "Yet? You think I'd become a cap'n? But that would mean I wouldn't be able to sail with you." She then offered him his hook and eye patch once the hat was safely back on his head.
"So, Black Jack is going to have a rope ready for us as a second resort, but he advised me to explore about 30 clicks from here to see if there's another way out. And considering that I'd rather not go back to that snake pit, I'm hoping for another passage. Do you have any other orders?"

In one fluid motion, he set the hat back in its rightful place. On his head. "Yer ambitious. So one day, maybe." At the second half, his mind flashed back to her tears on her cheeks.
She legitimately cared about him. But there was one thing still bugging him. "Aye. We'll scour ahead. Get back topside so ye can chit chat with...Kale." Yep, he was still sore about that. Good thinking though on Jacks part, he could always count on him to be second in command. He donned his eyepatch and hook once more. "Couldn't say it 'fore, but Kale? He's got the brains of a sack of potatoes!" If she was offended by him insulting her friend like that...well...Captain Darias wasn't known for caring much about 'feelings'. Unless his own.

"Kale? Why would I want to get back to Kale?" She looked at him confused, the remark being totally left field. Then it hit her and she started laughing nearly to the point of hysterics. "Oh.... Oh you can NOT think that... With Kale? Please, you know I have high standards."
She paused, considering how to proceed without letting it out that she and Kale were NOT friends in the slightest. "No, I threw him under the bus to get put up closer to you. I didn't think you'd get so upset about it all." A blatant lie: she knew he'd have a reaction.
"I do feel bad that Black Jack got stuck with him though. The man is not the brightest candle."

He stared at the shetani before it dawned on her the reason. The laughing however, was not expected. Nor was the reasoning behind it. Closer to him? If he didn't know better, he'd say she had a crush on him.
Black Jack owed him twenty silver now! He had a chance after all. The male slowly grinned before starting to hobble down the hallway. "Aye. Poor Black Jack. Was the easiest move though." He was going to have to make it up to the beefy first mate. Perhaps he'd give him the first glass of grog when they found alcohol again.

Oh thank goodness Darias wasn't questioning her reasons. "Aye.... I think he's getting half of my share for this. I feel mighty bad about sticking him with Kale."
She held the lantern out as they walked down the halls, lighting their path for them. A smile came over her face as she lightly nudged him with her shoulder. "Hey... gatta admit I did look good in that hat though."

"Half of ye share? Naw. I'll gift 'im half of Kales share." The faint light of the lantern revealed a set of stairs leading up. As this was an area not expected to be infiltrated by anyone other than tribesman, it seemed that there wasn't any observable traps. He gently nudged her back with a toothy grin. "Aye. Mayhap we'll craft ye a tiny version."

"Naw, it's not Kale's fault that I used him." She gave him a charming smile right back. "I'm just irresistible. He didn't stand a chance."
She moved to go up the stairs first, as she both held the lantern and didn't want to let Darias trigger any more traps. "Hmmmm, maybe we should get me a big floppy one. With a huge feather in it!"

He barked out a laugh at the 'irresistible' part. Sometimes she had as much charm as a cactus. But he wasn't going to say that. He slowly stepped up after her, being very careful with his injured leg. "A feather? In the salty sea air? A'ight, but yer cleaning it." Good old banter. "Hey, looks to be a room comin up."
