Breaking free of the Ice she was able to dodge the incoming ice punch. She countered using Dragon Pulse shooting a blinding light at the Sableye.

Once again, Spinel's opponent broke free from the ice and slipped away before he could punch them. He scowled at the Kingdra and chattered something that obviously equated to stop that! Taking a shock wave to the face didn't improve his mood. His glared at Flora and eyes flashed brightly.

Once Flora Fainted Zak withdrew her into her pokeball. "Good battle" he called out. "Congratz on winning the tournament" he gave a small wave before leaving taking his pokemon to the pokemon center to get them recovered.

Lyle smiled and waved back at Zak. "Thanks! You fought well too." He'd won! Then realization hit. He won? He was going to be a Gym Leader? How was he going to manage that?
Spinel had no such qualms. He cheered and jumped in the air, then turned and bounded back to Lyle. He clambered up on his boy's head and chattered excitedly. They won!
That snapped Lyle out of his thoughts. "Good job Spinel! Let's go get you healed up." That came first, he'd figure out the rest later.
