She was comforted to see Elm was friendly. She had admitably been rather uncertain of how people would treat her once she'd arrived, thank goodness for the kindness in peoples hearts, though it did seem he was only doing his job. "It's alright. I'm just somewhat nervous." Wei replied, offering a gently chuckle before Elm vanished into a back room. She waited patiently for the Professor to fetch her choice in starter. Stepping into the lab a bit more, she got a further look around at the various machines. It honestly was like she'd stepped into a whole new world. Aside from the descriptions in books, she'd never seen anything remotely mechanical in her lifetime. Save for once she saw a helicopter fly past the village, though she was fairly young when that happened and the memory of it all but faded away.
The professor returned in no time, offering her the Pokeball for her Totodile. She graciously accepted, giving a shallow bow. The Pokedex was another freezing moment for the teen. She hardly knew what to do with it.. Elm gave a small explanation, but.. well, she'd figure it out eventually. For the time being she placed the strange device into her bag along with the offered Pokeballs and Potions that the Professor offered to her. She wasn't to sure about the Pokeballs either, but Potions were something they did have back home. Not in these fancy bottles, but it seemed the object was easy enough to understand. Whatever the case, it was a lot to take in, but she didn't want to keep the Professor from his duties, she hated being kept from doing her chores back home after all. "Thank you for everything Professor." Wei replied at last, giving a deep bow this time. "I will do my best. I hope your work goes well also." She added giving a genuine smile as she rose from her bow. With a gentle wave, she turned with the Totodile's ball still in hand and left the lab.

Chayse pushed open the heavy metal doors to the lab, pausing as he felt a rush of chilled air escape from the well-conditioned room, a stark contrast to the Summer heat he had been walking around in all morning. He could see the professor standing at the far end of the room, but he couldn't yet bring himself to walk over. He swallowed to try and ease the tightness in his throat. He had literally been anticipating this moment his whole life.
'Just one step,' he coached himself, easing one foot forward, then the other, until his body remembered how to walk. Before he knew it, he was standing beside Professor Elm, and his eyes grew wide and eager. "Um.. Professor Elm? Sir? My name's Chayse Draco, from Violet City... I just turned 12 in January, and... I came to apply for my Trainer's License." He released the breath he had been holding in, having finally gotten the scariest part out of the way. "I've studied a lot about the three types of starter Pokemon you have in your lab, and the one I'd like to start my journey with is Cyndaquil. I think it'll be a good Pokemon to raise." His eyes shone with anticipation, his hands clenched and sweaty at his sides.
Flipping through his research notes and muttering to himself, Elm was deeply lost in thought and completely unaware of Chayse's presence even when the young boy was standing right beside him. It was only when he spoke up that Elm jolted and nearly dropped the journal in his hands, fumbling and juggling it in his hands to catch it before it hit the floor. A light tinge of pink crossed his face, embarrassed for looking so unprofessional in front of the young man, but he gave Chayse a smile nonetheless. "Y-yes?!" Elm squeaked and cleared his throat. "I mean.... Yes? What can I do for you young man?" He tried again, this time his tone back to normal, nodding as the boy introduced himself and explained his intentions. "Oh? Well Chayse, I would be honored to give you your license! Right this way." Elm insisted eagerly, rather, he was eager to save face after that embarrassing first impression.
After leading the boy to one of the computers, Elm began adding Chayse's information and constructing a trainer card for the boy. "Just stand over there and I'll take a picture of you so that I can add it to your license." He explained. As he worked, Elm listened as Chayse claimed to have studied the stater pokemon he had at his lab and having decided on a cyndaquil. "I see! Well it's good to know that a young boy like yourself knows to research your pokemon before hand. Not many think to do the same, but it's very important to know if the pokemon you pick is right for you, and if you can take proper care of it." With Chayse's picture taken, Elm set the machine to print out his new trainer card, and while it did, he moved to another machine containing three pokeballs and picked one out before handing it to Chayse. "Here you are, I'm confident that you will be able to take very good care of this Cyndaquil." He insisted with a smile.
Soon after, a noise indicated that Chayse's trainer card was finished, and Elm moved to grab it along with some supplies to hand the boy as well. "Here you are, your trainer card is all finished, and you may take these potions and pokeballs as well to help you get started, along with your very own pokedex to help you research any other teammates in the future!" With Chayse supplied and registered as a pokemon trainer, Elm wrung his hands and looked hesitant. "W-was there anything else you needed?" He offered, adjusting his glasses. He really did want to make sure the boy had everything he needed to start, Elm just hoped he didn't come off as an incompetent role model.

Chayse smiled sheepishly as the professor straightened himself out. 'He sure is a funny guy,' he thought. After combing his fingers through his dark bangs, Chayse gave his best non-nervous smile for his Trainer ID, and finally followed Prof. Elm to the Pokeball station. When he was handed the Pokeball which contained his Cyndaquil, Chayse breathed out slowly, his eyes shining with awe as he held it in his hands. 'It feels warm...'
"Thank you so much, Professor," he breathed, reaching out to take the Pokedex, ID, and Trainer items that were offered and slipping off his backpack to store them away. When he was all ready, he poked the button on his Pokeball and watched as a flash of white light materialized into his very own Pokemon.
~Cynn..~ The Cyndaquil's eyes were squeezed shut, its tiny, flameless body curled up on the cold tile floor beneath them. Chayse grinned slowly and knelt down to let it sniff his hand. "Hey there, Cyndaquil... You get to be my new partner. How 'bout you walk around with me outside of your ball for a while? That way we can get to know each other, and maybe we can be friends." Cyndaquil sniffed Chayse's fingers cautiously, looking up at the boy's warm smile and crawling closer to him, seeming to accept the request. Chuckling, Chayse lifted up the small Pokemon and placed him on his shoulder, nodding to Prof. Elm. "Thank you again, Professor. I'll come back and visit sometime, so you can see how Cyndaquil is doing. Until then, take care."
Chayse turned around and walked out of the lab, ready to take his first steps on his Pokemon journey with his brand new partner.
The young man was exauhsted, they had been travelling for what seemed like forever, and then on top of that, they had to unpack super late at night when they finally arrived at their new home. So, when the Johto sunlight snaked through his window, shining into his unguarded face, the boy didn't want to actually get up. He could hear his mother downstairs, rummaging through boxes and pots and pans clinging together. She was probably looking for stuff to make breakfast. At least he thought it was breakfast time. So, stretching and hopping out of bed, he grabned some clothes and started downstairs.
He was greeted with the sound and smell of eggs and bacon frying, his mom must have woke up early and went to the store to get some so he would have breakfast. He smiled as he rubbed the sleep from his eyes, yawning. "Morning Mom." he slid onto a seat at the island bar in the kitchen behind the stove. His mother smiled as she handed him a plate. "Good morning sweetheart! Eat up, you get to go see the Professor today, remember?" He perked up, grabbing a fork and stuffing in the food. His mother laughed and softly, scolding him to slow down as she handed him a glass of water. "Remember, I wont be home until later tonight. So if you get your Pokemon, just send me a message if you decide to head out today alright?" he nodded, finishing his plate and hopping down. He gave her a kiss on the cheek, grabbed his backpack and bike and started to the door. He paused though, his hand on the nob. Turning and dropping his bike he ran back and wrapped his mother in a big hug, squeezing her waist. "I love you mom." she chuckled and patted his head, hugging him back. "I love you too sweetheart. Go have fun, and be careful. I know you can be great."
He beemed at her and then took off, grabbing his bike and heading outside. He jumped from the porch onto the bike and took off pedalling as fast as he could. Today was the day! He was finally going to get a Pokemon! He had looked through a book over Johto Pokemon on the ride over, and he was sure which he wanted as his starter. Hopping up onto the curb, he skidded to a stop in front of the Lab. Kickstand down, he got off the bike and walked to the front door. Taking a breath to calm his pounding heart, he pushed open the door and stepped in. "Uhm... Excuse me? Professor Elm?"

Hello! If you have any questions, feel free to ask!
A fairly rushed and clumsy man awaited the young trainer within the lab. Situated at a desk, ankle deep in an unorganized mess of paper work, a younger looking professor lifted his gaze from his work. A flurry of paper work fell from his desk, sending the man in a frenzy trying to collect the papers before they scattered. Luckily he managed to shove them back up onto the desk and safely get to his feet to greet the new trainer. "Hello! Come in, come in." Elm beckoned, a sheepish smile over his pale skin. "You must be Delmont, I was expecting you." He added, placing his hands together before him. "I heard you just moved here, yesterday no less! Anyway, we've been rather slow for trainers lately, so it was easy enough getting everything set up for you." Elm them motioned towards a machine set up near the far right of the lab. "Go ahead and look over your options. Everyone is eager to meet you." With that final notion, the Professor made his way over to the machine as well, pressing a button that lifted a round glass barrier from around the three Pokeballs situated inside of it.
His gaze shifted around the lab until they fell onto a man. He was rather unassuming, thin, and wore glasses and a white lab coat. Situated at a desk cluttered with papers, which, coincidentally, scattered when the man moved to greet him, was the Professor of the Johto Region, Professor Elm. Del wasn't sure if the man was just unorganized, or chaotic... Was that how all the Professors were? He really had no idea. However, when he was greeted, he stood a bit straighter and smiled widely at the man, bowing respectfully. "Ah! Yes sir! That's me, Delmont Chessergrave." he confirmed, stepping closer as the man stood and motioned to a machine, saying he heard that he had just moved. Del nodded as he walked over to stand next to the Professor, "Yes sir, my mother and I came from Alola."
He peered into the machine as the professor opened the glass dome covering it, his large gold eyes blinking in awe. Pokeballs, with Pokemon inside of them! This was going to be his first time actually getting to touch a pokeball! Not to mention, soon, he would have a pokemon all his very own! He almost couldn't contain his excitement! He wondered... which one would he pick? In Alola, he had wanted the grass type, Rowlette, but in Johto, that would be Chikorita. He wasn't sure if that was the one he wanted or not, he wasn't that big into flowers... Totodile was kinda cool looking, but he wasn't sure if he could handle getting bit by those big jaws... So that left... "Cyndaquil... the fire type right?" He asked hesitantly as he touched one of the pokeballs, looking over at Professor Elm. He wondered what sort of personality the pokemon would have, was it a girl or a boy pokemon? Would it even like him?
Professor Elm, who awaited Delmont's choice patiently, looked up when the boy inquired about Cyndaquil -- which he took as him choosing the fire mouse as his starter. "Yes, it's an excellent pokemon, a little timid but an excellent partner," he informed. "If that's the pokemon you'd like, feel free to take it! I've already got everything else you need." For once the good professor was well prepared, and for that he was proud of himself. With a shaky smile, he handed to Delmont a small parcel, topped with a pokedex. "Here you are! In the package are a few potions and pokeballs, vital items for a pokemon trainer, and then your pokedex! If there's anything else you need, feel free to ask!"
Delmont Received: Cyndaquil lv. 5 - Tackle - Leer
+ National Pokedex + Infinite Potions + Infinite Pokeballs
The Professor confirmed that it was that Pokemon's ball, and said a bit about it. It was timid, but a good partner... He picked up the Pokeball, holding it between his hands as he looked at it with a goofy grin. Yes, this was going to be the Pokemon that he was gonna start with! For sure! He giggled happily, holding it to his chest as the Professor said he had some other things for him. Looking up, he put the Cyndaquil in his pocket, then held out his hands as the Professor handed him a Pokedex, some Potions, and some Pokeballs. He grinned, putting the items safely inside his backpack and pulling the Cyndaquil's ball out again to hold.
"No, that's all! Thank you sooo much Professor! I'll take really good care of him! I promise!" He pushed the button on the ball, summoning the little fire mouse pokemon out to stand in front of him. The Cyndaquil rubbed its face and yawned, looking around before its gaze fell to Del, who crouched down to be on its level. "Hey there! I'm Del, your new partner. I hope we can get along really well." He smiled at the Pokemon. Cyndaquil looked at him and tilted its head, making a soft sound before nodding and smiling too. Del gave a laugh, reaching down to pick up his new partner. "How about I give you a nickname? How does... Cynder sound to you?" Cyndaquil cried happily and wiggled its feet as if agreeing to the name.
Del looked over at the Professor, grinning from ear to ear and holding his new partner. "Thank you again Professor! We are going to be going now! Have a good day!" Cynder jumped down from Del's arms as the pair raced out of the Lab, heading down the road to New Bark Town.

"Come on, it’s time to go.” Jeraldo was checking his phone, but he could see Trevor working on his sketchbook in the corner of his eye. He didn’t bother glancing at him when he didn’t get a response; instead, he moved over, and slightly kicked the kid’s leg, earning a frown and a sharp look. Trey pulled the headphones down, and this time, Jer finally did close his phone, and looked at him as he pocketed it. “It’s time to go,” he reiterated. Trevor sighed, but put his things away, quiet as ever. They hadn’t been traveling together very long, but it was long enough for them to each get a read on one another. Perhaps it was because they were so similar, but that seemed to come rather easily for them. Very quickly, it became as though they had known each other for years, and already, they were learning to deal with one another’s…. tendencies.
Like Trevor blocking out the world in favor of listening to music, and drawing the scenery around him. But, they’d set out for a reason, and that was so that Trevor could start off on being a trainer. For.... whatever reason.
The teen pushed himself up, and the two began walking. They were already near, but they still had to keep walking, ducking and dodging any signs of wild pokemon, Jer occasionally placing his hands on Trey to push or steer him hurriedly away from a sound with a frown and a glance in the direction, letting him miss the consistently irritated scowling sneer the teen would shoot back at him. He wasn't a child after all, though JR was quite a bit older than him.
Eventually, they reached the lab, and Trey slowed his walk, though he refused to stop. He didn't want to look hesitant, because he wasn't-- he was just wary. It meant... interacting with people, after all. Jer looked down at him, then rolled his eyes, lifted a hand, and shoved him forward, past the doorway, and into the lab. He followed him in, again missing the look Trevor was shooting him. "This kid here was looking to be registered as a trainer," he announced, as flat-toned as possible.

Professor Elm got up from his desk as he was alerted to someone in his lab looking to get registered as a trainer. In the movement however, a folder of paperwork fell off of his desk and he scrambled to pick it up. After haphazardly returning the papers to his desk, he departed to the front of the lab to greet the new trainer. "S-salutations! I'm Professor Elm!" he greeted, looking between the two guys that were in his lab. Which one wanted to register as a trainer though? Elm shoved his hands in the pockets of his lab coat to prevent himself from fidgeting. "er... um, apologies, but what is it you wanted again?" he asked, a slightly anxious smile on his face.

Trey stared at the man, his lips pressed together as his eyes took him in from under wisps of green hair. Seriously.... This guy looked like a nervous wreck. A nervous, train wreck. He looked off to the side, not sure whether to feel sorry, or annoyed at the guy. ".... To be registered as trainers," JR explained, folding his arms over his chest. Slowly, Trevor turned his head to give him a side look. Trainers? Since when had Jer been interested? He was probably going to give a fake alias or something, but...
Jeraldo gave him a brief side look to meet the stare, before looking back ahead at Professor Elm. Hopefully the registration process would be quick. "Neither of us will be needing a starter pokemon, however," he added flatly.

Elm blinked, then reached up to adjust his glasses. "o-oh, s-sure thing! I'll get you two registered then." he replied, then shuffled off to go get a pokedex for them. Not having to figure out a starter for them was certainly going to make the process easier. "Um, are you two together?... o-oh n-not l-like that but err... training as a team? I need to know y-your names, as well." he asked, quick to correct himself as he realized how awkward it had sounded, flustering himself. He attempted to hid his face behind the monitor of the computer he was using to register a pokedex to them.

That got a flat deadpan from both of them. The two young men just stared at poor Elm, likely making the nerves at his blunder even worse. Eventually, JR's stare dulled, and he slid his gaze off to the side, but Trevor still seemed... irked at the question. He folded his arms over his chest, however, and stayed quiet, expression soon melting into passiveness. At the clarification, he gave a look to Jer, and gave a subtle shake of his head-- no. "Yes." Trey twitched, but JR brought a cool gaze around to the professor. "In that, I may use some of Trevor -- last name "Dover", by the way -- 's pokemon to battle. And he may use some of mine for contests. My name is Elvrick Hirsh," he explained, spelling the name for the man if he needed. Hopefully, that got all the necessary information out in one fell swoop. This oughtn't take too long....
Notes to self: "Elvrick Hirsh" is JR's 'Trainer' persona

Professor Elm was made more nervous at the two male's reactions to his words, pushing his glasses up his nose and ducking further behind the monitor of his computer. Once the black haired male spoke up, answering him, he got right to registering the pokedex to the two of them, putting in their names without question. "H-here you are, a pokedex. Um, also, take these as well! Some supplies to start you off." he finally got up, retrieving some potions and pokeballs before approaching the pair, offering over the pokedex and supplies. He nearly fumbled the items, a pokeball dropping to the floor from his arms and a potion threatening to fall nex.
