 Masae had been totally oblivious to the world around him. He was much too excited about getting home and showing Ryuu his new aquisition. An antique tea bowl, made from black clay and painted with the most beautiful flowery designs he had seen.
It was the basket that caught his eye first, or rather the glistening scales of the fish within. Curiosity drove him to pause and move closer. Seeing the sandles next to the basket he wondered where the owner could possibly be. They were taking a risk allowing such choice catches go unguarded.
Shuffling forwards he clutched the box to his chest and peered over the bank into the water.

 Enju had sunk long before the Haka had spotted the basket of salmon. His wings wedged under some rocks, anchoring himself at the bottom, his pale skin glimmering slightly under the water. His eyes parted slighty, a wavering figure apparent on the surface.
Curious, he wondered if someone was trying to steal his catch. Unhooking his wings from the rocks, Enju swam on the bottom of the river, swimming up until it was shallow and standing up rather suddenly, wings shaking off the water instantanly. Enju, glimpsing that the figure wasn't making a run for it, shook off his hair, droplets of water dripping down his his built frame and looked up. His eyes widened at the sight of the Haka, forgetting himself and gawking for a minute before dropping down on a knee in the water in a show of repsect.

Masae was visibly suprised by the sudden emergence of the Gehaka. Blinking he stepped a way from the edge and straightened up again, his bright blue eyes watching the Gehaka cautiously as he knelt in the water.
"You startled me." He said sharply giving a brisk nod of his head to excuse the dark haired Gehaka from his kneeling position. Holding his wrapped box in one hand he haughtly flicked a stray piece of hair from his eyes. "I hope you don't make a habit of such behaviour."

Enju left his firey orange eye on a rock near the Haka's feet, making sure they didn't stray upwards. His ears perked up as the Haka spoke, twitching off water from his ears. He straightened up more, rising and bowing, using a hand to brush off water from his body. Enju couldn't help but grin, cocking his head but still keeping it down.
"I apolgize, Honorable One. I wasn't sure if you might be a thief, my vision was obscured under the water."
He barely gave a quick glance upwards flashing the Haka with the burning orange of his eyes. His ears swiveled curiously, wondering if the Haka was by himself. He heard no one else.

Masae kept his rigid posture and looked away as the Gehaka brushed the water off himself. Wrinkling his nose he looked back down at the fish. There were several in the basket, good ones too. He obviously had a talent for fishing. Masae was suddenly interested in discovering if he had any other uses. He was certainly polite.
"What's your name Gehaka? Who do you work for?" He asked curtly, aware of the orange eyes searching for company. Cursing inwardly he wished he had taken up Ryuu's offer of a Gehaka to accompany him.

Enju was suddenly well aware of the Haka's appearance for some reason. A very light blush tinting his cheeks. This was...different. He was somewhat puzzled by the feeling he had but listened to the Haka, forecfully keeping himself still lest he grab a glance at the others face again.
"Arehoudai Enju, Honorable One. I help run my mother's shop, it's a flower shop and a bit of...an apothecary."
Enju tightened his wings around him, a frosty breeze blowing by. He needed to either get out of the water or get back in, it was getting too chilly for him to stay damp like this in the water.

Arehoudai... Masae ran the name through the aquaintances in his mind, he had heard of the family yet had never met them nor frequented their store.
Masae narrowed his eyes thoughtfully, Gehaka meant one thing to him and one thing only. Business.
"Come here." He said curtly. "I do not wish to continue having to raise my voice to speak to you."
As he spoke the cogs in his mind were already begining to work, he had severed one link with his mother by leaving home. That however, was minor compared to the business. His business. He practically ran it, she merely provided a figurehead. Her hands far too old and arthritic to even hold a brush, let alone write with one.
Snapping out of his reverie he turned back to the Gehaka named Enju. "Well, what are you waiting for?"

 Shinku sat on a plain cotton cloth; his dainty feet cooling in the water. His jaded green eyes where closed, and the thick hazel lashes resting against his cheeks as he soaked up the sun. The hazel hair Haka tilted his face up to the sun light, lips parted just slightly. "It is such a lovely day. Don't you think so Kageki?" He muttered. "Yes it is sir." Kageki said, demurly. His eyes where on the ground; his body pose submissive. The blond Gehaka was, just the picture of a poliet repectfullness.

A similar pairing of Haka and Gehaka moved slowly down the road beside the river. Reizo's eyes were closed as he too tilted his head up to catch the sunlight, basking in it much like a cat. Some distance walked Shinji, ready to call out if the Haka was going to trip or run into something.
Reizo sighed in contentment, feeling free to do so since there really wasn't anyone around to catch him doing it besides his younger brother.

 Kageki ears twiched, and the blond Gehaka turned his head ever so slightly. His eyes flickered to the Haka coming his way, and he stepped off the path. "Cousin a Haka is approaching the path." He said. Shinku looked at Kageki and shook his head. "No, I'm not moving. Stay silent Kageki, perhaps they will just walk past up." He kicked the water, smiling at the little splash. It was such a muscial sound, nature made the most beautiful sounds.

Shinji's ears large ears flickered, and he stepped forward to place a hand gently - for only a moment - on Reizo's shoulder, a silent warning.
At that, the artist's eyes opened, and he tilted his head back down, face resuming a more passive expression, as if bored. Not that there was anything wrong with enjoying the sunlight, but Reizo liked those masks. It meant that any emotion he did show was all that more powerful to those that experianced them. He glanced to the side, to see where the others were, and caught only a flash of golden-blonde disappearing, a brief glimpse of tan wings. "Well Shinji." He murmured, knowing with the stillness of their surroundings, his brother would hear him anyway. "Shall we leave him alone, or shall we investigate? A Gehaka hiding from passersby, that is most suspicious." He did not, of course, know that there was a Haka companion. He really didn't expect a response, beginning to veer off towards where the Gehaka had disappeared.

Kageki shook his head slightly and sat down under the tree. The Gehaka watched his cousin splash in the water staying silent. His ears twitched, and he turned searching for the cause of the noise.
Shinku own ears flickered back. He tilted his head; his eyes slanting confused. What was that noise? He withdrew his feet from the stream and dryed them on the blanket before placing them in his sandals.

At the top of the slope appeared a graceful figure, auburn hair done up in an artfully messy bun, stuck through with chopsticks here and there to keep it up. Reizo peered down, and then blinked. Ah. So that's what it was. A Gehaka out with his Haka companion.
He stood there for a moment, eyes shifting to the river to watch it flow, turning slightly when Shinji stepped up beside him. He canted his head to one side slightly as his eyes fixed once again on the duo at the edge of the river, nodding it slightly to aknowledge them.

Shinku nodded back slightly. He stood up and clasped his hands together. "Good day," he said, taking in the other Haka, and thinking of his own appearance. The helm of his kimono was soaked, his hazel hair was windblown and messy. He was a mess.
Kageki looked down and watched his cousin. His blue eyes ran over the Haka and then the other before flickering back down. Why did his cousin have to be such a tomboy? He was dishonoring his family.

 Shizuka was bent over the edge of the boat he'd been working on for months, taking care to make the finishing carvings perfect so that whatever Haka or Gehaka that took it out could feel honorable in such a craft. Helping with his mother's boat-carving was the only thing that really put him at ease, really brought out the best in him. He felt pleased to have almost finished this particular boat...
Shizuka stood his full height, stretching his cramped draconian wings because they'd been scrunched very tight against his back so that he wouldn't lose balance. The sweat poured off of his palest of bodies, even under the canopy which shielded his pure skin from the harmful rays of the sun. He closed his eyes and relaxed, wondering if anyone would come by should he choose to take a dip in the cool river...
