Yeah, I at least plan on getting Sable into some bad guy battles that are more manga-style in the type of trouble she's in. Probably won't get any points for them, since it'd require using moves in ways they aren't meant to be used (like using String Shot to tie up a trainer in the middle of the battle), but it'd still be fun and I'd still keep track of damage and who's knocked out. Of course, then the problem would be pacing... I've either got the games or my tabletop experience to go on, and neither one is good for this. Game pacing would mean I'd blow through the baddies no sweat, while the tabletop one... I'd be squaring off with bosses before my third gym. >_> This does not make for good pacing. Even Ruby and Sapphire waiting until after that third badge to pit you against your game's boss. :c

...I'll admit, I both regret not joining in that Halloween event and am glad I didn't participate. It seemed awesome and like something I'd have enjoyed bringing Sable into, it really did. It just really didn't help that there was a lot of fighting between the RPers. :c I mean, I know part of it was stress from the holidays and part of it was some of the stuff going on in the actual event, but... The whole atmosphere of the place just felt toxic for a long while with how much RPers were at one another's throats. :c Not trying to take sides or point fingers, just saying my impression of the situation.

Heh, and there are so many options for bad guys, too x3 There are the traditional teams, and... I still need to put it up, but there are a few other teams that people have that they've expressed interest in plotting for/with, so there's all kinds of options. I'm not familiar with tabletop pacing, though, so I can't really say much on that ^^ ;; Sorry.

You know, as a participant, I kind of feel the same, but, honestly, I actually am glad I joined, for... various reasons. And I agree, the ideas Prince came up with were great, and very interesting, and I appreciate the opportunity they presented my characters. And I will stay on that positive not and move onto your remark about the atmosphere which, I have to say, I 100% agree on, and I know several others felt the same. Which is why knowing who was involved in that makes me even more uncomfortable... And a huge part of why this guild was made. Why we have the courtesy rule. Because we really just want to be able to enjoy rping, and keep the ooc, and conversations, from poisoning an entire thread the way some of those fights seemed to. It just... seems to make things really uncomfortable and difficult for a lot of people.... >.< ;;
Yeah, I've noticed a few profiles mention something about a Team Void, so I suppose I'll have to be careful of those guys. Of course, until she finds proof otherwise, Sable's gonna think these teams (including the established ones like Team Rocket and the like) are all a bunch of pushovers compared to her home region's main group of criminals.

As for the tabletop, it wasn't so much a pacing problem in and of itself (I think third gym was farthest anyone got in any of the attempts, since we were playing between classes at college), just that... With the fact that my character was a psychic in there (actually mattered less than one might think; mostly let me communicate telepathically with my Pokemon), the Pokemon she had, the way she trained them, the way she battled, and just the sheer luck we had on die rolls, it was literally the only thing the guy running the game had left to throw at me at one point. Heck, I steamrolled an Admin. Twice. With him having an improved team the second time. Before my first gym badge. Because he was in the best area for grinding experience points at the time. That's how bad things got. It took him throwing team leaders/bosses at me just to make me lose against a bad guy.

Yeah... All in all, the event itself seemed fun, it was mostly the atmosphere that was killing things. It did, however, renew my concerns about making an actual... Actual... I'm sorry, but there's no other word I could accurately use to describe the type of character that I'd want to make than a complete and total a*****e. Unfortunately, it just seems that too many people take what happens to their characters a bit too personally. I mean, don't get me wrong, I wouldn't like seeing someone push around Sable for no good reason, but I'd at least keep the irritation in-character. Heck, the person playing the character could be the most awesome and nice person in the world, and I'd still feel annoyed. But I'd also still actually try to talk to the person out of character, though, and try to figure out if it's just the character or someone bringing outside problems into the RP.

Mhm! I have a team I haven't quite introduced yet, and I know Wolkova does too, and I'm extremely hopeful to plot with people, if anyone's interested, just because.... plots <3
And, heh, from what I understand of some of the teams, there's definitely opportunity for her to learn otherwise about some of them being pushovers >w>

Ohhh, I see o.o Huh! Well that must have been interesting.... Lol and gained quite a bit of exp xD

Mhm. I had my frustrations with a few other things, but it was mostly a worsening atmosphere that just.... amplified anything.
I'll be honest >.> I love difficult characters. I enjoy playing them and getting to know them, but only if they're done well. And there's a certain way to write them. Like, I actually really enjoyed how Prince wrote Ridley, and I appreciated her character. But I could understand how people might have been a little put off, and there are other ways I've seen characters like that written that just makes it really hard to enjoy interacting with them.
Personally, I try and never take things too personally, but I do have to admit that there were some posts I read that, if the writer hadn't said that they weren't writing to attack people, I might have wondered if they were doing exactly that, just because of the way it was written. I think it basically comes down to whether you can make fun of your own jerk-ish character or not x3
At any rate, I hope that whole thing didn't deter you too much, especially not if it's a character you really want to make ^^ After all, those kind of characters can be some of the funnest ones out there >w<
Oh, I look forward to seeing them in action. >:3 Almost as much as I look forward to Sable getting trashed at some point in time by some bad guy or other. XD Seriously, I always feel like my characters need a good trashing at some point or another.

Yes, so much experience... Especially the time where a level 20-something Ducklett managed to beat a level 50 Nidoking... All because of a lucky Water Pulse... And the area had a fire gym, too. *shakes head* That gym battle was so sad...

Honestly, the whole Prince and Shadows being the same person thing... It still seems odd to me and I'm honestly not entirely sure I believe it. I can't say I disbelieve it, either, and getting along with both of them (at least, from what little I interacted with them) doesn't help matters any. I will say that I enjoyed having Sable interact with Ridley as well, just because the whole notion of nice(ish) girl from bad area interacting with bad(ish) girl from nice area was funny as all hell to me. Obviously the two would have had things to disagree on, but they still seemed like they'd mesh pretty well.

Eh, I plan on it, but the real jerk will be the secondary character. To give an idea of what I have in mind... The next trainer to enter the lab after him is going to find a some of the scientists and the professor taped to their chairs (or some other way of unable to move/communicate, depending on what horoscope is going on around the time I put this guy together). Just to hit the ground running and show that he means business. >:3 Sable... She'll have her jerk moments, especially if you push her too far, but for the most part she's a nice person.

Hehe yesss >w> Kail, my third character, will be an ex member of it, too. Depending on Sable's personality, he could possibly provide some antagonism towards her, since he's still a bit of a jerk, particularly to friendly people, but whether he and/or his team, or any of the other teams are preferred, I'm sure there will be ample opportunity for that thrashing. (And I totally know what you mean =w= I feel the same about many of my characters much of the time)

Ho dang xD That, uh.... yeah, that's pretty lucky....

To be honest, I know for a fact that they're the same person. I've had it confirmed to me, not to mention all the reasons I had suspected it. However, I mean it when I say that I'm glad you had positive experiences with him on both accounts : ) And I can only imagine how interesting that interaction must have been x3 It's certainly a funny pair up.

Oh my o.o That would be.... actually really interesting to walk in on xD You've certainly peaked my curiosity enough to investigate when you make him and post for him. He sounds interesting already!
Oh, I wouldn't call Sable friendly... More like that icy-looking person sitting by herself in the lunchroom that's actually not too bad of a person to talk with. Unless he has a Pokemon she deems cute and she notices. >.> And by she I mean I because it's easier for me to figure her favorites by just giving her my list of favorites. And honestly... Considering the way things seem to go, I wouldn't be surprised if Sable ends up with every group of criminals irritated with her to some degree. If only because all that has to happen is for her to notice them doing something blatantly on the "bad guy" end of the scale and she'll do what she can to d**k with them. Have some Pokemon caged nearby? Cages suddenly open all at once. Tying up some innocent trainer? Suddenly that rope you're handling tries tying you up. Setting up nets and traps to capture Pokemon en mass unfairly? Ten minutes later most, if not all, of them will be undone. And don't even think of getting in her way. XD Of course... A good chunk of this stuff will require her having a psychic Pokemon to do safely, or else she's gonna be getting in the line of fire. XD

While I by no means deny the validity of your assertions, that is admittedly the sort of thing that I'd only believe as 100% true if one or the other of them tells me themselves. Take with a grain of salt and all that. And, to be perfectly honest, the only thing about it that would bug me anyway is taking advantage of extra legendary slots. The additional character slots, while a bit unfair, also allow for more interaction with the RPers who might be stuck on their own. In addition, as bad as it might be to say this, it does allow them to say things that their positions would make very difficult to say otherwise. It does not make hurtful comments less hurtful, but there have been times, at least in my experience, where I couldn't say something as an RP mod that I could as just an RPer, even if it's the exact same complaint in a very short span of time. But yeah, the interaction was fun, especially when they were battling during the fair. XD

Heheh, yeah. Mostly got the basic idea from Gen 2 (say what you will, Silver was and still is my favorite rival; there is no contest) and expanded on it to just make this guy seem like that much more of a baddie. I figure he'll start as some unassociated bad guy, and eventually commit worse and worse actions until he earns someone's attention. And, since he'll be the type that knows better than to decline an offer from an international crime syndicate, he'll be one of those "first come, first served" types.

Also, after a brief look at Marx, I'm gonna make this guess: He has ADHD (or at least ADD) and OCD. ADHD is more moderate currently, while the OCD is somewhere between mild and moderate (enough to impact, but still controlled easily enough).

Heee x3 She sounds fun, for sure. And the more you say, the more I know I have to read her profile, because if I understand, that could provide some very interesting prospects... if you were interested x3 ; Of course, I would 100% understand if you weren't. Given the way things are, at the moment, I think tomorrow I'll be able to allow myself a small window of opportunity to go take a peak at all the profiles that are up when I wake up >w>

To be honest, if I were in your position, I'm fairly certainly I would feel completely 100% the same. And from what I've read of Ridley, I can only imagine the sort of banter that occurred over their battle. If I had more time and the accessibility, I swear, I would go back and read every page of the fair, I've heard so many stories of the different experiences characters had there.

Ahhhh gotcha~ And don't worry, I won't argue; Silver was one of the more interesting Rivals in my opinion, too. I'm very curious to meet your character now, especially if he's inclined to end up siding with one of the many possible bad guy groups. Just watch, once you make him, you'll have oodles of people trying to plot for his possible alignment with their 'bad guys' xD

ADHD is definitely a part of what's going on with him, for sure xD He's also got mild Tourette's, too, though, which constitutes his tics (something I've been trying to incorporate more into his posts, since I'm constantly forgetting to mention them, despite picturing them in my head).
Ironically, my third character, Kail, will likely have mild OCD, but likely only with a few things, and in a.... relatively controlled manner lol

Unfortunately, I really need to crash, but tomorrow morning, Sable's profile is top on my list >w<
Talk to you later~! : )

Good on you, nice to meet someone who's a fan of the Avatar: The Last Airbender/Legend of Korra series~ I'm guessing you're working on building a Pokemon team based around Korra? Because if so, that's absolutely beautiful~

If I wanted to claim a Tyrogue for the anniversary event, would that make sense? Are baby forms and first stage evolutions pretty much the same? Am I overthinking things? sweatdrop

Thanks for the ability capsule tip! I was actually asking b/c the description in the items thread has added in "Can also be used to regain an ability lost through evolution. " I'll ask in the question's thread now that it's up, but I appreciate the answer 3nodding

o _ o So many choices! I can't decide on the Valentine's Day one, and then there's the grand opening stuff. @ _ @ Hopefully I can wait a day or two to try and decide. gonk

Edit: And now that my wifi's not acting up as much, time to crank out the first RP post of the guild! ...At least, at this point. XD That might change by the time I actually get it written up and posted.

Boop! Picking back up from last night while I try to figure out how to word the post I'm working on.

Well, again, I admit there isn't much to her profile aside from the basics. One, it's hard for me to make awesome profiles. Two, and more importantly, I've usually found that a character is usually better defined by their actions through an RP than the story of their childhood. It can certainly influence how they act in an RP, but for the most part it's the RP itself that tends to shape the person. ...Does not excuse my poor profiling skills. XD

Yeah, but while I gave that sneak peak, don't expect to see him for... Well, either until Sable gets a couple of badges or a couple months pass. Mostly to give the guild a chance to warm up its engines before unleashing someone who I'm gonna try and turn into a wandering hazard. Not that I expect him to only do worse and worse and worse things, but I figure it'll be a pattern along the lines of big situation -> string of little problems -> somewhat bigger problems -> big situation and continue like that, just so I don't blow all the good (or bad, depending on the point of view) ideas in one big wad. Plus, he at least needs to be able to keep a low enough profile to face gyms and all, so big things like going after labs, companies, and museums are going to be occasional plans.

Ah, haven't seen much of Tourette's, so I didn't pick up on that as well. But being someone who has ADHD (and some other stuff), I could definitely see the obvious signs of that. XD Granted, he's got it a lot worse than me, but I still see it. XD And heh, mild OCD can be fun... In its own twisted way. It can also be a pain... Like having a mild compulsion to have every capturable Pokemon caught in Premier Balls... Or to catch every capturable Pokemon. That's a problem in monster-taming RPs. XD Especially since each one needs their own personality and... @ _ @

Good on you, nice to meet someone who's a fan of the Avatar: The Last Airbender/Legend of Korra series~ I'm guessing you're working on building a Pokemon team based around Korra? Because if so, that's absolutely beautiful~

I wish I had that kind of focus, but nah. I think I'm just gonna stick with RPing this the way I've been playing Pokemon for all these years. I'm not a competitive person in the first place, so I just raise what I encounter.

On a very unrelated note, did you guys know that there are other holidays that branched off from Valentine's Day? Of course, they're more like social norms than holidays.

For example: White Day, which is celebrated in various places in Japan on March 14th, exactly a month after Valentine's Day. Over there, Valentine's Day (as an observed "holiday") is when the females are the ones who present their male friends/colleagues/coworkers with chocolates, which are usually of varying quality. Store-bought ones usually signify friendship, while homemade ones are often more meaningful and are usually presented to significant others or... love interests. Generally, it's the homemade ones are more desirable because of the time, effort, and emotion put into producing them, but of course ladies, if it were you, how much you put into making these varies on how much you like a guy.

White Day, on the other hand, is pretty much the Valentine's Day for guys, where they return the favor. Gifting is reciprocated, and are usually double or triple the value of what they received the month prior... except the color of said gifts to be given back to the ladies is often white. Popular choices include cookies, jewelry, white chocolate, white lingerie (wtf), and marshmallows.

And then in South Korea, you get Black Day, in addition to all other holidays they celebrate.... except this is more based on not getting anything from Valentine's Day nor White Day. So yes, Black Day is practically Singles Awareness Day, where the single people dress in black and hang out to eat black-colored food and lament as much as they want about the lack of romance and intimacy they get. Mope away, people. It's not the end of everything. :'3

Congrats on the first post! x3 I've been tinkering around with the remaining stuff that got missed/still needs to be done, but I'm reeeaaaallly hoping to at least be able to start posting Ajicka fairly soon here =w=

Ohhh don't even worry. Honestly, my profiles aren't that thorough either, for the exact same reason. I try and just do the basics when I make a profile, because I agree, my characters always end up getting more flushed out and defined by the rp and everything. It's kinda hard to describe your character when they're still sort of forming in your head, and the best way to really find out who they are is to play them.
Also! So, is Sable psychic? ovo Or does she just use psychic pokemon a lot? 'Cuase you had mentioned a few things, but I didn't notice anything specific in her profile : 0

Hehe, well, I don't blame ya there x3 I'm extremely excited to rp, and that includes introducing the other character in my head, but I really can't afford to make him when there's so much to do, and there are some things I want to get set up before I go and bring him in, too.
At any rate, I think I kinda get the picture, and even if it might not be a little while before he shows up, I really, really look forward to getting to see him x3 He seems like he'd be really interesting, especially given all the different plots that are going on and everything.

Heh, yeah, it's a lot less well known, and I've really failed to mention it in his posts, so that's totally understandable. But yes, he's got it pretty bad. Allllll the hyperactiveness.
Lol luckily for Kail, he doesn't have it quite like that xD It's more that he'll be, like ".... that's... that's not straight...." and line something up properly or something.

Nah, Sable's not psychic. That'd be a bit too broken, considering even low-level psychics are dangerous in my hands. XD But I tend to like quite a few psychic, dark, and ghost types (The whole Ralts line, Espeon, Umbreon, Murkrow, Misdreavus, Shuppet, Houndour and Houndoom, Sneasel, Absol, Mightyena... The list goes on), so expect her to get something to mess with people. And that's not even counting all the bug types I like... And the few grass types... And poison... >.> Might be a good thing she's more or less a nice person... Oh, yeah, and don't forget how many Pokemon can learn Psychic via TM...
