Vulpin rolled through the numbers one more time. He glanced back to see if anyone was still helping guard his lusus. He felt a tiny bit of dread inside, wishing he could do something to save him himself. But no, he was a tiny, useless weakling.

 920/1000how 2 bossfite | wiggler version: electric boogalooAny questions regarding battle mechanics should be asked in the main meta thread. With a hiss and a shudder, the machine begins to slow down in it's deadly whirl. The last of bugs are cut down out of the air, and as the black clouds clear, the machine's metal hull becomes clearly visible. Barely dented. it begins to emit a green heavy smoke that billows out of vents along the bottom and begin to fill the room from the floor up.*with lusus all damage and targeting is applied to them rather than the kid* If you rolled a 1, the clouds of green smoke billow up around you and you feel yourself slipping away... your vision blurs and begins to go dark. Lose 5 hp. If you rolled a 2, the room seems to start to gently spin as you inhale the smoke, and a high pitched ringing begins in your ears. Lose 4 hp. If you rolled a 3, you cough out the smoke and try not to inhale, seeing other trolls around you stagger as it creeps over them. Trying to focus, you still can't help but start to feel like the best thing to do would be to just go to sleep... Lose 3 hp. If you rolled a 4, you swing your weapon around, trying to push the fog away with air currents, the best defence you can mount against it. You think you've succeeded, until you realize that your arms haven't actually been swinging for the past minute or so, and are instead hanging limply by your side as you yawn. Lose 2 hp. If you rolled a 5, you pull the front of your clothes over your face, trying your best to filter the smoke out. It seems to be doing a decent job, although you do note a sensation of fuzzy lightheadedness. Lose 1 hp. If you rolled a 6, you scramble to find higher ground, using the other trolls and lususes to keep yourself up if necessary. You manage to keep from inhaling the smoke, but as it advances upwards, you realize it's only a matter of time.... Teens can choose to attack the boss once every half hour, as normal. But wow this thing is scary, scary strong. [Take half the damage you dealt to the boss in return as it automatically counterattacks.] Maybe it would be better to try and... Flee! Teens and kids can attempt to guess the passcodes for the doors. They seem to be on high security alert, with the passcodes resetting every few minutes. If one troll can concentrate on cycling through all the numbers available [Roll 2d6 and try and mach the number generated in the boss's round post.], while another defends them from danger [Take the highest individual dice roll as damage, ie: results are 3,5 take 5 damage.], they might have a chance of getting out alive [The two trolls can escape through the door before it slams shut again. if they have any lusus with them it is not fast enough and is left behind quote the mule on a successful escape.]. Reaching 0hp:If at any time during the fight or during flee attempts your troll or kid's lusus reaches 0 hp, please quote the mule, do not roleplay past the moment they hit 0, and wait for a response. This will be the last round until the 5th! Any trolls who have not reached 0hp or fled by then will not be able to count this as a battle rp.

Vulpin panicked as smoke began to fill the room. He was more used to dealing with physical threats, like giant furbeasts and other ridiculous monsters. Smoke was something he had never dealt with, and by the looks of it, neither had Sly.
At his very best, he could cover his own mouth with his poncho, using it as an air filter. But there wasn't anything he could do for his lusus, who was looking more and more worse for wear.

Everything had gone by like a blur since earlier, like a movie he was watching without truly taking part in it, and just that idea alone was laughable. They'd lost Zeffer, and even if he'd been dragged off alive, there was no guarantee he'd stay that way. The thought of losing him completely and totally scared Aprife, filled him with a fear he'd never felt, even if he was still unsure why everything felt so finite now. The fact of the matter was, there was nothing he could do about it in this instant. He couldn't charge the weapon and destroy it himself, it hardly looked like it had a scratch on it since they'd started this gog awful fight. He couldn't even hope to escape, because the idea of leaving his comrades behind in this place made him sick.
All he could do was look up from the ground and watch Akko struggle to defend someone they didn't even know. The fact was, even though the yellowblood felt a connection with the rebels and their cause, had begun to support them wholeheartedly, he always had a hard time seeing past himself and the few who actually meant something to him. It was rare to find a spot in Aprife's bloodpusher, but now that there were some who had, everything stung just a little bit more for it. It was funny, really.
Without thinking too much longer on it—he wouldn't have gotten anywhere, anyway—he took off towards Akko and the little troll whose name he didn't know. He would defend his escape attempts, because Akko had asked him to, because he wasn't sure what else to do, and because he'd already failed to save Zeffer. If nothing else, he had to protect Akko from taking yet another hit.
Aprife defended.

Vulpin mashed numbers wildly, not even looking back to see who was defending him. It was the end of the line, he thought. He only wished he wasn't stupid enough to have been tricked into being here in the first place.

Sly fell to the floor with a loud whimper. Vulpin, hearing this, scattered from the door and ran to his lusus' side. He watched the woofbeast. He was panting erratically, and his unfocused eyes teared up from the gas. Vulpin shook the dog's stomach. "Get back up!" He shouted, voice cracking. "I'm gonna get us out of here! Please!" Sly was unresponsive. "No!" Vulpin shrieked the brat he was, "NOOO!". He stood up and pulled a dagger out from his belt. He tossed it at the machine with a weak arm, and it clanged off the metal uselessly. Shaking with fury, Vulpin started to cry out of rage.
