The problem Beats encountered this late in the game had everything to do with the fact he had no idea which bit of the minipet was the head. But he tried his best, and he probably ended up mangling it and losing most of the usable parts. Heck, he still didn't even known what it was! Now came the blind taste testing, which yielded very... unfortunate results for the shoe haunt. From spicy to moldy to extremely spicy, Beats was pretty much spinning in the air trying to somehow get rid of the horrible tastes from this tongue.
Said tastes which he was very much stuck with. Ah well, the contest was fun while it lasted and he would try to see this through until the end!OOC NAME OF CONTESTANT: Beats STAGE: 3 Name of dish: Meet the Mystery Meat TALLY TOTAL 9 + 3

He had done his best with what he'd gotten, which by all accounts should have killed him if he weren't already dead. Maybe after this contest there will be two more ghosts to join the ranks! Hooray!
As he lifted the plates of mystery meat, he felt something scamper along his arm and land on the table. Blinking, the shoe haunt stared where he thought his ingredient had fallen before shrugging and floating on over to the judges.
"Dunno what I got. But what I have here are what I think are bite-sized morsels. I am semi-reluctantly-pleased and would like you to Meet the Mystery Meat!" And Beats did not hang about for too long.OOC NAME OF CONTESTANT: Beats STAGE: 4 Name of dish: Meet the Mystery Meat TALLY TOTAL 9 + 3 + 2 = 14

Reaching in one last time Soren felt...well something really tiny. Possibly smaller than that extra appendage. His hand practically dwarfed the mini so it probably wasn't the best option in the dark. He would hate to have to break it down and debone it and what not. So it seemed as if one of the other choices might work out a bit better for him. He felt around til he felt that jingle again and then scooped the mini out and onto his prepping station. Honestly, Soren wasn't exactly sure what he was making. But regardless of that all game needed prepped, and he was going to get with it. He started off by feeling around for the creature's gut, then skinning it and working hunks of meat off of the carcass. It was hard to tell what the delicacy was in this one, but muscles tended to have more concentrated Fear in his mind, so he was going with what he had. And considering that the meat really was winding up in hunks (which he carefully moved to one side so it wouldn't get confused with the rest of the muck) he was starting to think of a dish. A hearty stew perhaps, or maybe some kabobs. He could cook on an open flame, and skewers would give something for the judges to actually grab hold of. Oh right, the spices. Well, that might actually determine his dish. He felt around until his fingers encountered a little bowl, then dipped his finger in it. And wow, this was familiar. Room temperature oily stuff slicking his fingers and...wait, Neru wasn't here. Sighing he returned to the task at hand, while trying not to think of other tasks he'd done with this hand. Lifting his fingers up he smelled them, noting the light scent. So probably a basic oil, nothing to get too worked up over. Except then he managed to get the same ingredient again. Annoyed with himself he moved the little bowl over toward where his meat was piled, then went in for a 3rd dip. This time he felt actual texture under his fingers, and when he darted a tongue out to taste he was immediately met with salt. At least it was easy to identify. He got out a bowl and dumped in a large portion of the oil and salt, whisking them together before adding the meat and leaving it to marinate for a few minutes. Off to the side he got out a large grill pan, laying it out and mentally looking at quadrants of the cooking surface. When time was close to being up he put the meat on the pan, one piece per quadrant, because even when you couldn't see you should remember where you put things. He let it cook enough that he thought there would be a good sear to the meat before turning it. That done he started plating, adding one piece per plate until he was pretty sure the pan was empty. Now all he had to do was present and somehow canter into the finals. OOC NAME OF CONTESTANT: Soren STAGE: 3 Dish: Salt-marinated seared mystery meat Points: 11+1+1+2 = 15

If he was honest, Soren was looking nice. So if his invisible plate of food didn't do it for anyone, he would have to shine in it's place. And that was the key right there. Thankfully he still had a bit of oil clinging to the bowl, and he had no qualms about rubbing blood onto his chest, invisible as it was. So stripping off his shirt he started rubbing away. Unfortunately, it was invisible, so while his skin felt amazingly soft despite his rock hard abs, it still wasn't shiny. Then with a stroke of genius Soren tossed some water onto his torso. Just a little, not enough to run all over the place, but it also couldn't sink into his skin as the oil was already coating him. Glistening slightly he went before the judges, standing cockily and with his hips jutting forward just a bit. "On the plate there's food."Nailed it. Rhiannon couldn't believe she had made it on to the next round, not with the terrible, awful job she'd done with the ripsotto ( three times). Either it was a miracle, or other contestants messed up even more than she had. And Chef wouldn't let them forget it. She mentally thanked Jack for whatever allowed her to slide through. Looking at her new box, the witch was almost afraid of lifting it for the excruciatingly harder challenge that she was sure lay ahead of them. But wait! They could use whatever they wanted! So maybe this won't be hard after a--- 'Is anything even in here?' Ri looked down as Ramsay and Hyde exlained the rules, but just couldn't comprehend it. How do you cook something you can't even see? This game is rigged from the start! But Chef was watching, and she didn't make it this far to not see how they film the finale episodes... She reached her hand in, trying to feel whatever was in the box without getting any form of injury, when her fingertips brushed against a mini. Ri lifted the, thankfully, still creature and heard something jangle. Maybe a Luck Dragon? She placed the thing back in the box, not wanting to deal with sharp scales. For her second attempt, Ri reached toward the opposite side of the box, being mindful of anything remotely dangerous. It took a short while to find her next ingredient, its body being so tiny and all. The small mini was curled in the corner of the box, seeming to be waiting for her. Rhiannon lifted the something and took a chance. 'Might as well use this one,' she shrugged. Now was the hardest part about the entire competition (next to trying to 'not incinerate' the dish), made even tougher by her ingredient's invisibility. Ri could feel that the thing had a soft, furry body and small fangs that weren't trying to escape her grasp, but she also felt the strange sensation of something leathery attached to the thing. "The only thing this could be is a bat. Unless it's an invisible Famine or Death mini." She said aloud so the cameraboil could leave her alone. The reaper ghoul shot him an annoyed glare, and he walked off. She tried to find the sleeping minipet's head and cut swiftly, breaking its necklace and sending beads to scatter across her station. Ri caught some of the orbs and placed them in a bowl, in case she wanted them later. Next, she felt for the section where the leathery wings of the bat creature met its furred body and chopped down on either side, neglecting to check to make sure she wasn't cutting anything else. Because it was a bat, she knew that it would have legs, so she removed them as well, and tried her best to finish the last of her prep work. Strangely, even though Ri swore she skinned the thing, it still felt furry, as invisible fluff motes clung themselves to the meat. Invisible spices for an invisible dish. The judges had a sense of humor that was nothing but evil. Ri rolled her eyes and, not even completely sure what she was going to do anyway, grabbed three of the containers at random. The first spice wasn't too bad. In fact, it tasted pretty good! Kinda coppery, like blood, but she couldn't tell what it might be. Pleased, she set the spice down. The next spice was almost too much for her to handle. Though the flavor was light, Ri couldn't stand spicy food. She thought the judges would like it, so she placed its container by the blood one. The final spice sent her straight to the fridge to look for fresh Arpakassu milk. Her eyes watered uncontrollably and she thought she would suddenly gain the ability to breathe fire. Was that dragon's breath?? Once she managed to cool off, she returned to her station and placed the spice as far away from her as possible. The two fiery spices along with the bloody one and the batty ingredient only made her think of one thing: screeole food. The kind they only serve in the swamps of Halloween. She started the cooking of her dish with bloody rice, adding the metallic spice with a heavy hand. While that was going, Ri decided to roast the bat thing in a casket-iron skillet, sprinkling salt and the slightly spicy spice all over the pan so she wouldn't miss seasoning it. The super spicy hellweed/dragon's breath was all that was left. In order to not overdo the spice in her dish, Rhiannon found the tiniest measuring spoon she could find (also known as a toothpick) and scooped up the invisible spice, tapping it a few times and stirring it into her rice. With some quick, last-minute thinking, Ri took the bowl of beads and added the bat wings to it. Next, she made a flour mix in a new bowl and mixed up a scrambled egg, coating her garnish with batter and then dumping it all into a nice, hot fryer. "That should do it." She took a moment to step back and prided herself on her work. OOC Name of Contestant: Rhiannon Stage: 3 Ingredient: 3) You feel something with a tiny body - Jambalawwa Invisible (bat) Spices:- 9) Something blood-flavoured what is it ??? +1 - 8 )Something slightly spicy, just on the light side +2 - 3) Something very, extremely spicy +0 Score: 10 + 1+ 2 + 0 = 13

Finally completed with her dishes, Rhiannon began to plate. First, she scooped her rice onto the bottom of her plate, making a sauce out of the drippings in her bat pan and pouring it atop her rice. With a little bit of difficulty locating her bat meat, she placed the invisible creation in the center, hoping it was cooked well. Then, the witch ghoul placed her fried bat wings into a form of teepee beside her bat (an easier feat when they were coated in breading and made visible) and sprinkled the beads around her plate. She topped the whole thing off by shaking sparkly red salt, driving home the spiciness and bloody flavors in her dish. She presented the plate to the judges, surprising everyone by having a steady hand and voice. For once. "Today, I have made for you Swamp Surprise. It is spicy bat on top of classic screeole bloody rice, and comes with fried bat wings. Because nothing says 'swamp' like 'fried'. Enjoy." She bowed politely and went to go stand with the other contestants. Would the judges find her good enough to get to the finale? Ri hoped so. Even though he couldn't recreate the three dishes perfectly, he did a not-so-bad job to his customers, just minor defects. The judges were not happy with that, but eliminating all would lose the purpose of the competition. Anyway, no matter what, he got into the semi-finals, which he didn't expect at all. It was the Mystery Box time again, leaving the box up, AJ rarely tilted his head and made a bitter smile. He couldn't see anything but empty air. Invisible minipets? He immediately reached out, his hand floated - nope - was on something with a pulse. So it was like cooking when you're blind? Sounds challenging and fun, he's up to that. One hour? He wondered if he was lucky to get something he would come up with a good idea. As Chef Gorgon Ramsay addressed them, he took advantage to fiddle across the invisible ingredients. When he announced the session began, AJ grabbed onto the first time his hand touched. it was long and thin, tracing to another side, he got to one, two, three, four limbs. Normal minipets had usually four limbs, so it had a big chance to be exotic ingredient. He memorized the position and decided to check a few more before he decided. OOC NAME OF CONTESTANT: AJ STAGE: 1 Ingredient 4) You feel something that seems to have an extra limb

Next, he brushed across something fluffy, but it wasn't moving. The boil reflected an image as he continued to sweep across the object.
