[Calanoth (Brown -1) 59]
The large brown's eyes whirled bright with desire and the thrill of competition. Oh there will be dancing! Once the fine lady Evmeth takes her pick of a partner we shall see who's left dancing alone!
He pressed himself for altitude. With the length and the excitement of the event so far Calanoth was hoping they'd lose the blues and possibly even the time dragons here soon. Already one was down, having crashed into the lake, and still others worked at detaining Sereth. But Calanoth did not like the way Evemth was showering praise on Malcarreth.

[and again, at 34, -1 for being brown, must be 7+ to continue]
[making thirty-four total xD]
A ripple of delight surged through Kyoth at being noticed, the ungainly brown putting all of his energy into gaining as much height as possible. His wings shed droplets of water as he climbed, and he was pleased that though he was not at the front of the pack - where it would be the most dangerous - he was not last, either… and he had not fallen into the lake. That was pretty important.
(meanwhile, his rider was considering attempting creating some sort of rope made out of linens. This could only end poorly, especially in her flight-muddled state)
Kyoth said tartly, striving to match Calanoth’s pace. <...and to dance alone is not so terrible. It's the game, not the winning of it, that is the joy>

[Malcarreth: 37 + 5 = 42. 42 + 2 - 2 = 42]
Malcarreth replied, closely followed by; Strength however... strength was not his strong suit. As several of the larger males began to pass him - including Calanoth, gallingly - it was all the small blue could do to keep beating his weary wings at all. He wasn't giving up yet! Somewhere down below the other half of him wholeheartedly agreed and punched a passing bronze rider on principle as he hastened through the halls, still heading for Shylla's weyr.
[Pycath: 27 - 1 + 9 = 35]
Pycath trumpeted, turning upwards again with a mighty beat of his wings and striving to make up the ground he had lost when he had briefly turned away from the chase. he continued with a light brush of his mind against Evmeth's, the usual sharp predatory edge to his voice turned keenly and ardently protective. A healthy clutch meant a healthy Weyr and while he believed that he would make a very fine sire indeed it was down to Evmeth to decide in the end and all those left as serious competitors were healthy if nothing else.

(Tote fail - snick) Banneth remains at 52 Banneth made to rise and found himself flattened by the pull of gravity. The small time bronze gave a low noise of irritation but kept attempting to fight for air. Ra'fe questioned, amusement curling in his tone.
Banneth snorted,
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Hazmath shook himself and attempted to drag himself out of the lake. Cold, cold, cold.
B'ren laughed, swamping his blue with love and amusement. He grinned.

[Absoth 32 + 3 = 35]
Absoth considered himself amazing in most respects, including physical might, but the strain of the flight was beginning to tell on him and though he strove with all his heart he began to see other males - browns! - pulling past him. he called with a brassy bugle.
[Morth 44 + 1 = 45]
Though ahead of Absoth Morth fared little better in the climb. The fact that two of his wingriders were in the process of pulling ahead of him only made the failure to close in on Evmeth more frustrating. he called, trying to force his wings to beat harder and faster.

[Pycath: 59 - 1 + 8 = 66]
Pycath climbed through the air near as swiftly as he had dived. From near the back of the group of chasing males he first drew level with the middle of the pack and wove through them and then flew onward and upward with a high call of exaltation, reaching out again to Evmeth to share with her the simple joy and the heady thrill of his speed.

Bronze Kelilayth | Time Dragon | Modifier = -1 @31 → 35
Kelilayth was the graceful sort, and for once, not in that much of a hurry. Sure it bothered him a little bit that with this climb he fell to the back. He didn't realize how out of shape he had become by him and his rider's lack of training since arriving in the future! He would have to make sure to remedy that. He did, however, notice with satisfaction that his clutchmate had risen closer to the gold. In his mind, at least, he could be back here in case Sereth tried anything further.

Bronze Tiaeth- Time Dragon - Modifier= -1
It is a joy to be welcomed back by your sweet voice Evmeth. Thank you, Tiaeth crooned softly. He did his best to shrug off the bad mood Sereth's challenge had caused. You show your wisdom and kindness today. The bronze rumbled his approval for her generous nature.
He craned his neck back as the gold lofted up back into the sky. Spread thy wings wide sweet Evmeth. Allow me to test my strength among the clouds.

"It's going to be okay Shylla," S'ol said firmly, helping her back through the door and then closing it and bolting it behind them; when the healer arrived he'd let him in, leaving it open right now seemed pretty stupid.
Shards, how had this happened?
Forcing himself to at least appear calm S'ol headed across the room, sat down on the bed next to his clutchmate and took her hand. "It's going to be okay," he repeated, "Zaqueth won't let anything bad happen to Evmeth." And he wouldn't let anything bad happen to Shylla... anything that hadn't already happened. Tired. Zaqueth had heard Evmeth say that Shylla was tired and she looked it, not sick just... just tired. Had somebody drugged her? But why? Distracting the rider of one of the males involved would benefit a competitor but drugging the gold's rider? Who would benefit from that?
Somebody who would benefit from a shortened flight, somebody fast but without much endurance.
A time rider?
S'ol didn't like the shape his thoughts were beginning to take at all, though this at least was better than the thought that Shylla had been poisoned. He hadn't ruled poisoning out yet though and he really hoped that the healer arrived soon.
