Shalvesta would gladly have continued hacking at the beast before her - acid or no. But then a sudden burst of warmth filled her body, strengthening her until she felt a confidence she had sorely been lacking just before. Bewildered, she turned and saw the healer responsible - a dazed and somewhat scared looking windling. She blinked, suddenly overcome with a sense of wrongness - not that he was on her side, for that was what her people had hoped for, but instead because he didn't seem a willing participant.
The hesitation remained in her head, but instead she decided it best to turn away from him - instead realizing the importance of the healers here. If she could be bolstered despite the bleak situation, they certainly didn't need such strength on the other side. Spotting a young woman, about her age, close by, Shalvesta rushed at her and tried to slash at her with her sword, but despite the strength of the spell on her - her rage had diminished in turn, and she found herself mumbling an apology under her breath.
Gaddok let out his breath slowly; he had to shake his nerves. It's true he hadn't really trained; leta lone touched his sword in a great deal of time since his incident in the mountains, but that doesn't excuse leaving yourself open to attack...
Thankfully the resistance eradicated the vanguard, but that brought forth an old friend; the Arwa. Gaddok watched as the creatures advanced and toppled into each other. there was something wrong, but he paid no mind to it. the faster these beasts were felled the faster he could return to his life... Into battle he charged, landing a swift clean blow to the confused creature.
The Arwa’s lumbering form continued their advance as the handler struggled to get the pair back on track. As they tromped down the enemy line; the first of the beasts had taken heavy damages from the resistance. For primitives the resistance seemed to be doing very well against the Arwa. These beasts were quite the sight to behold, but the shock effect was losing its luster on the resistance. Surely a few were left, jaw agape as the creatures trundled forward, but it was clear they had prepared for the beasts this time.
The Yaotl on the battlefield was more proof of this… The acid spit soaked into the armor of beast one, but left the creature with no more than a slight irritation which it shook through and began moving to its assistant tamer’s commands as it directed its counterpart over to the farthest resistance zone. The first Arwa stomped and swirled to attempt to get the swarm of resistance off of it, as the second lowered its head and thrashed attempting to scatter or throw the attacking earthlings.
Naria had her attention fixed on the Arwa. Tendaji lost the previous battles due to these creatures and it was her Yaotl that would help turn the tide. She tapped the shaft of her spear against the Yaotl to encourage it to pick up the pace and round to the other side of the zone seven so she could get a clean attack with her spear at the injured beast… If she timed it just right she could strike the area weakened by the acid and severely wound the beast.
The yaotl responded so naturally to her command, it hugged the ground and moved swiftly to where she guided, however its master was so focused on the target that she overlooked the flailing second beast. Just as Naria was about to launch her spear into the beasts side; her Yaotl jerked away to dodge the flailing Arwa’s club like tail. Naria frantically grabbed for the reins of her mount and managed to knick her precious Yaotl’s gill. The creature let out a low hiss of displeasure.

Gah! The beast turned on her, ramming through the group she had been fighting within. She dodged with a mighty tumble and struck out at the beast as she moved. There was a yield as her blade met flesh, but her first thought was; Hijil? She did not lay trampled beneath the beast's feet at the very least, but there was a momentary panic regardless.
Nyiim cursed as a close-range arrow missed the charging beast. He hadn't allowed for sudden movement and so had wasted an arrow. He was angry with himself but determined to continue, running back a few steps and nocking another arrow.

Kelina had been taken aback by the raging arwa and wasn't able to move quick enough to avoid it's attack completely. She swore under her breath as she flew to the side, but she kept a good hold on her bow.
Kelina continued to curse under her breath as she was about to try and counter attack when her arrow fell out of her throbbing arm, by the time she picked it up, her moment was already passed. She kicked the ground and tried to refocus herself again.

Rishima's antennae gave a twitch, alerting him to something coming his way, and he turned in time to see the beast lowering its head to come at him. He was quick to roll to one side, out of the way, and scrambled back up to his feet. He looked around, trying to figure out where Jerarda and Gerraden were but with the dust that had been kicked up he couldn't seem to find them, "Jerada! Gerraden! Where are you?!" He called out, his eyes going wide, feeling himself getting stunned to stillness as he was flooded with worry for them. Where were they? Had the thing hit them? Were they alright?!
Turning to looked at the creature he gave a battle cry before rushing forward toward the Arwa who still had it's head down, burying the tip of his spear into the creature's head. The problem being that it seemed to have a rather hard skull, making it so that he wasn't able to dig in as deep as he'd liked. A shame, a shot to the brain might have downed the thing. Instead he was forced to yanked his weapon free, taking a couple scrambling steps back, and lifted it up. He had to stay on guard for whatever this thing might do. As much as he wanted nothing more then to seek out and find his missing companions he knew that if he let his guard down he could be easily crushed by the monster.
He had to concentrate on the battle first and foremost, as much as he loved Jerarda and Gerraden he had to think of all the others around him as well. He couldn't abandoned the battle to look for those who were missing. Once things were over he would, but for the moment he had to concentrate no matter how much it hurt him to do so. Gritting his teeth he murmured, "Aisha, keep them safe."

More swift movements and more arrows sent the way of one of the Arwa was how Jacin was playing things. He wanted to make sure that each shot he made counted, that each arrow he fired hit. He had yet to see an opening that might allow for him to take out the riders on either of the Arwa and as such he decided that he should instead focus on one of the two Arwa, designate it as his target, and only shoot at it. As tempting as it would become to go after the other one when it came closer to where Jacin was or when it seemed to be blocking his shots he wouldn't. The moment one of them was down then everyone would be able to concentrate on the other one. Not to mention that once one of them was down that the damage the monsters were able to cause would be cut in half as well which was even more important.
Lifting his bow he gave the Arwa before him a once over before firing again, his arrows once more burying themselves in the neck of the creature, "You will fall." He spat out, finding himself more then a little over fighting with the beasts and even more so the Obans. The army from the South had been dogging them for far too long now, making it impossible to even sleep through the night without worry that one of them would appear to mess with him or his family. It was because of this that Jacin wanted to see this battle down with sooner then later. Once the Obans were dealt with and this war was over Jacin meant to curl up with Takoda and nap for a while, wanting nothing more then just sleep for a while with his mate in his arms.
With that happy thought in mind he focused on what needed to come first, that being the defeat of the bit monsters. Reaching for more arrows he notched them and prepared to send them flying.

Able to recover from his stumble Chalcedony found himself once more charging toward a Arwa, crashing into the creature's leg with the spikes on his shield, then shoved forward a bit more. He could feel the bone crack a bit though it wasn't enough enough to really bring the thing down. If anything the slight crack in something so big wouldn't likely be little more then an irritation. He just hoped that it was enough of an irritation that it might slow the thing down a little bit. If they were able to halt the big beasts in their tracks and keep them from pushing forward into the camp that would keep the civiilians safe which was what he wanted most.
Taking a couple steps back, preparing for another charge, he caught the sight of something from the corner of his eye that left him cold... it was his son. Turning he found himself starring at Aysun who was clutching a spear, something he'd never seen him with before, before he yelled, "Aysun! Watch out!" One of those things was taking a swipe at his younger son with its tail and it wasn't something that he wanted to see happen, "Move! Get out of the way!" What was he doing on the battlefield he thought to himself before looking from side to side, finding himself wondering where Chandra as well as Keilana might be at the moment. She should have kept them off the battlefieled... but then again he should have as well.
He'd have a talk with them later, for now he had to do what he could to keep Aysun safe, as well as Chandra if he was out here too. He could only hope his older boy had more common sense then to come out onto the battlefield when neither boy was ready or anywhere close to trained for for such a thing.

Truth be told Aysun didn't want to fight, not really, especially given that the ones the Tale Army were fighting were a pair of the most magnificient creatures that he'd ever seen. They were being led to war by the Obans and he knew that there would be no stopping them, not with the size of them. Each blow that the creatures took, and the more blood that they lost, the more Aysun hated the sight. He didn't want to see such a creature killed even though he knew that it was going to happen. They had to be stopped so that they didn't kill people... and if it meant keeping safe the members of his family of course he'd pick them over the big beasts. It was just a shame that it was a choice that had to be made.
As the creature took a swipe at him with its tail, something that he missed, he heard his father's voice calling out to him. He jerked his head to the side when he was told to 'watch out' and realized what was happening. He jerked back, stumbling back a couple steps, and just barely got out of the way of the giant Arwa's tail. As though by instinct he reacted by taking a swing at the creature with the spear he was awkwardly clutching in his hands... and much to his surprise and displeasure he actually hit. Not what he wanted to do, but what was done was done. He had to keep telling himself that their deaths, while tragic, was necessary evil. They had to die so that others, those in the Tale Army, could live... he'd be sure to mourn them later since he was likely the only one who would.
