November 21st, 2017: codemonkey37179 debased coin FeaturesAny news on the mobile app? Sorry for the delay. Still working on it. Mobile inventory goes into testing today. it amy Shrimp_Man Pop LiveCan this be viewed on mobile? Because I have bandwith issues which means I can't watch any streaming items at all on my computer until after midnight. It's possible, but very difficult—It's not optimized for mobile yet, so if you worry about your data or of if you have an older phone, it might not be the right fit just yet. Jak Bauer Hi there, Unfortunately no, not at this time. It crashes mobile browsers currently.

December 19th, 2017: codemonkey37179 Aliixandre Will you guys ever work on improving the mobile app? I really want to have better functionality on it. Half the time the pms don't send out and I'm unable to view things in the forums. I would volunteer to help make it but I don't think I have the necessary experience. sweatdrop Just a question. We will. codemonkey37179 Happy _Tropical_Flower Features/Gaia AppSo how goes it with developing the new Gaia app? How far along is it so far? surprised Hit some bumps! Getting back on track.

January 9th, 2018: codemonkey37179 MuzikFreq Features: when is the proper mobile app estimate? Using the web browser on our phones is tough. I hear you. There are several different areas of mobile modules we are working on right now. I don't have a proper estimate or even an improper one, but we want it as much as anyone.

January 23rd, 2018: Lanzer Aliixandre Was wondering if the mobile app will be updated soon? We have an avatar focused app that's in the works, after that we'll focus on Towns, but we definitely want a mobile app soon

February 27th, 2018: codemonkey37179 Yuekazehime MobileI know that Gaia is working on a new mobile app, but it has also sounded at times like Gaia wants to do separate apps for towns/minigames. Is Gaia doing separate apps, or making an all-in-one hub for mobile? We are not doing an all for one, at least not at the moment. We have been building mobile compatible web apps, so Gaians that come to the site via their mobile phone can have a good experience. We can then take those web apps and convert them to a mobile app.

March 21st, 2018: [NPC] Gaia Staff Welcome Back! Quote: FeaturesIs there a timeline on fixing the mobile app? Even if you don't push the completely re-vamped 100% better app, it would still be nice to be able to use the app! The daily chance on there has been broken for months! Posting is horrible, there is the default gaia purple behind the announcements so you can't read them at all... I guess what I'm asking is this: When do you guys think these problems will be addressed or the new app will be released? We're aiming for public beta for one part of it in two weeks!

March 27th, 2018: codemonkey37179 2sammygate codemonkey37179 Happy _Tropical_Flower Features/ Gaia AppDirected at Codemonkey! How's that thar Gaia App going so far? Any closer to being released? emotion_kirakira What I've been working on (The inventory manager) is almost done. Final testing should be this week, released soon after. The next parts, avatar dress up and shopping will go much faster, because I've made a bunch of parts. Stay tuned! please make sure to put in an item search for vending, plus a back arrow to instantly get to the last page of your inventory! pressing that forward arrow so many times is a huge battery killer! and with that, i have to go walk a dog. Well... Inventory won't exactly work like that anymore. codemonkey37179 jenru are we going to have to relearn thing? not against it, just emotionally preparing myself. XD There will be a 5-hour mandatory class before you are allowed to use it!! JUST KIDDING! You will have boxes to put things in. One of the advantages is that fewer items will need to load each time. This makes things go faster.

April 10th, 2018: Lanzer Castiel Lover Technical issuesI tried to get on Gaia on my Kindle Fire for the first time in months and it will not let me access Gaia at all. Is it the browser? Something on your end? My end? Most android based browsers have no problems displaying Gaia. We'll try to get our hands on a Kindle Fire to test. Which version of the Fire are you running?

I'm so curious, haha. emotion_kirakira The boxed inventory was the first step. Working on the avatar builder next. The inventory was the toughest one. The next will be much faster.

June 12th, 2018: codemonkey37179 rostiaper FeaturesAre there any set future plans to make Gaia more mobile-friendly? Working on it! We have the mobile forums and the mobile inventory. I'm working on a mobile dress-up system now. Towns 3 is a future project that will incorporate mobile. codemonkey37179 glengrin bluecherry I posted in ATS a few weeks back, but didn't have time to respond to this before the thread closed and have only now been able to catch an active ATS again. codemonkey37179 bluecherry . Welp, that's disappointing. The boxes remain useless to me then. I was going to ask about boxing (and tagging) by individual poses, but if something can only be in one box and it only applies to items we own, there's not much point. Except tagging by individual pose, that would still be veeeeeeery helpful, but that is pretty unrelated to boxing. Is it because you want to try on items that you don't own? So here's my response finally: Nope! Not all on its own at least that isn't the case. It's already plenty easy enough, in theory, to try on items we don't own. We can try them on in the market place or the shop previews or in invo search in the dress up page or in the avatar builder. The real problem is in FINDING items. So many items exist it is easy to forget about them, or remember them, but forget their name. There's a HUGE thread in avatar talk forum devoted to just the problem of trying to help people find items they remember, but forgot the name for. Tagging is still a work in progress for improving just having all the good, relevant tags added for when you remember an item exists, but that doesn't cover so well still forgetting about things even existing in the first place which means you don't have much of an idea to even go looking for them. We also have so many items that it's practically impossible to simply buy everything you currently or ever may want to use just so you could sort it for easier finding theoretically in these boxes. That's why I'd want to be able to box things in the avatar builder even if I don't own them AND why I'd want to box things in multiple boxes. I'm picturing using the boxes sort of like a personal collection of tags where the sorting/tagging system helps me find things in whatever way I personally find most useful, like in my above example where I may want a box full of shoes I like and a box full of certain blue items I like and one pair of shoes may also be blue, so I'd want to find it whether I was looking for shoes or blue items (or if I could look for an overlap of stuff, look up specifically things that appear in the shoe box and the blue box, that would be great too) and maybe it's an expensive item that I haven't been able to buy yet due to saving up for it or not being able to justify the expense until I find the perfect outfit for it or it's rare and I couldn't find a seller yet, so though I may want to find it later and don't want to just forget it exists, I don't own it yet. Also, as for the wish list, that currently has a 1000 item limit which is a lot of things to look through, but still not nearly enough compared to how many items are on Gaia to fit everything you could want on them that you haven't bought yet (seriously, I've burnt through multiple wish lists, totally full) and the wish lists don't display all the poses of an item either, just the default pose thumb nail, so it's easy to look at the list and forget about poses in the item that you liked or why you wanted something, what particular purpose you may have had in mind, like an item that's good for some cosplay or that has some useful layering or something. Good suggestions but I'd settle for ANY coherent system of finding items and poses in my inventory without hours and sometimes days of searching at this point. I use a computer rather than a mobile device so I want a system that isn't clunky on it too. Boxes were designed for mobile devices and are not integrated with the main inventory system last I heard. It depends on what you mean by integrated. It was designed for both. If it were only for mobile I wouldn't have put in keyboard controlls, mouse-overs or mouse wheel actions. Did you try the latest version? codemonkey37179 glengrin I mean I was under the impression from what you'd said in past AtS, you could use boxes or the regular inventory arrangers but the two could not be used together. I was waiting for the new system to further develop and potential bugs to be worked out before I tried it on my very large and fully chaotic inventory (thanks to the shuffle bug of months past). Are you saying that now is the time to do so? How do I access the box system? No, what I meant was that they didn't interfere with each other anymore. Before if you arranged a box, it would re-arrange your regular inventory. It doesn't do that anymore. You can access the boxed inventory under the My Gaia tab at the top of this page. Inventory 2 beta.
