Smiling, she nods as she hands Eric the tape before looking at him in surprise when he shows a bit concern about her being by herself with the spirit. Maybe he didn't mean it or maybe he did, it's hard to tell with that tone of concern behind the words. She didn't want to tease him but maybe they need a bit of a nice moment. "What's wrong?" Jaylegh voice changing into a drawl, "Are you worried about me now?" Shaking her head, she waves him off. "I'll be okay." Her voice returns to normal. She watches Eric with her curious almond eyes to see if she got a smirk or smile out of him. She knows that they both need it after this crazy day.

Eric only smirked for a second as the girl spoke, mainly just scorning himself for the question. He let his head drop to the tape to observe for a moment before he looked up, and turned to look Jayleigh. "If you say so," he said, feigning carelessness. He began to walk ahead, making his way to the car. "I'll drop you off."
Eric got into the car, and took a moment to look around for a safe place to put the tape. He didn't trust a gun and important evidence in the same glove box l, so he just kept it on his lap. The ride was quiet on his part, being too much in thought to hold a conversation. But when they finally arrived at the apartments, he spoke, "Listen, this ghost crap is all new to me, so I'm trusting you to really help me on all this." He began, "But, like I said, this is all pretty new. So try not to screw us over before I even figure out what the hell is going on, okay?" That was his way of saying "be careful".

Arriving late for his shift at The Emerald Isle Pub, Saul swore quietly under his breath at the jeers of the frustrated co workers and thirsty customers. Always thirsty. And so he began pulling pints of guinness, occasionally getting an easy order from the tap of PBR. The dulling of minds was a blessing. Inside, the Goetia killer slumbered it's awful sleep. Thankfully there were no psychics in this part of Hilton City, for if they were they would feel the endless chittering of insects, feel the gaping maw of a lumbering sperm whale lurking, under the surface of this ordinary man. And at the back of the pub, a beat officer swore he was having his beer poured by one of the detectives. But no, this man looked too young, his hair free flowing, eyes a soft brown where Masters had those queer blue grey eyes.

Jayleigh follows Eric to the car. Once inside, she gives him his key as he's obviously will be driving when he sat on the driver's seat. Seeing the look on his face, she knows it's not going to be a good time to joke around again. Maybe later, they could when they catch the killer. Sure enough, she was right, the entire ride was quiet. Which was fine with her. Almond hues glances outside, it's amazing how people don't realize that spirits of their loved ones can be right beside. Shaking her head out of thoughts, she notices that Eric was talking to her. "Hmm?" Her eye contact comes to his so as she listens. Geez. Isn't he real sweet? Sighing softly, she nods. "I"ll do my best not to screw anything over and I'll give you a call if I find anything. Meanwhile, can you try to see the connection in the file?" She says bitterly as she gets out of the car and closes the door, heading into Karen's apartment.
Entering the apartment by using the landlord key, she was right. There's Karen. Sitting right there on the edge of the arm chair. Jayleigh becomes a bit quiet before kneeling down, remembering to be careful with her words. "Karen. You know what happened?" Karen gives her a small nods. "Karen..I'm the only one who can help you. Please tell me where to find your body or his liar. Or show me." It was then Karen reacted badly. Her arms shivers so Karen tries to rub them up and down as if she wants to get warm and the room temperature has dropped drastically. Trying not to shiver herself, "Karen, please." Jayleigh begs as she gives the spirit full eye contact, to let the spirit know that she's here for it.
After few minutes of silence, Karen points towards... the wall? Confused, Jayleigh looks back at Karen and relaizes that she's gone. Frowning, Jayleigh gets up to the wall and follows it, only having Karen appear in the middle of the wall. Ah. The hallway. Leaving the apartment, Karen appears now and then, pointing to an area. Finally. Maybe Jayleigh will find her body or the killer himself. Leaving the apartments, Jayleigh continues to follow Karen, remembering where she's going so she can call the station later. Karen was getting faster due to her nerves, Jayleigh had to start running to catch up, apologizing when she bumps into people. That's when she realizes she's somewhere dark. Abandoned. Empty. This must be once apartments but was closed.
Looking around for Karen, she finds her. Before she could enter, she heard Karen scream out in pure fear, sending blood curling chills up Jayleigh's spine. Karen starts to cry out, something about red eyes. Confused, Jayleigh pulls her pistol out of the holster and holds it to her side but at ready. Both hands gripping it steady. Entering the building, Jayleigh tries to find Karen but couldn't. She must be too scared to enter. Turning, Jayleigh gasp when she meets another spirit. Wait. Have she seen this spirit. Thinking in her thoughts over and over, she remembers! The picture of this spirit was in the files. Now the spirit is pointing somewhere. Nodding, she follows where the spirit is pointing. Entering the room, Jayleigh's stomach has flipped. Heart racing as she gathers as much information as she could. Looking around without touching anything in fear of contaminating evidence, she sees sigils...possibly made by body fluids. Other stuff.... magic? In attempt to do magic...? Freeing one of her hand from the pistol, Jayleigh hand reaches into her pocket to get out her phone. ooc: PM Skreemer and he'll help you find connections in the file, if there's any xD

Eric sighed as he leaned back in the seat of his car while parked in the lot of the police station. He flipped through the file from hospital. He wasn't sure what connections he could find in this thing. Most of it was random scribbles. He muttered as he read through the insanity. Then his brow furrowed. He stopped midway as he was flipping a page, and felt its thickness in between his fingers. Then began to pick at the corner of it. Surely enough, the page began to split into a second, and he pulled it out to read it. With wide eyes, he fished into his pocket for his phone. He needed to call Jayleigh.

Finding her phone, Jayleigh flips it open. She doesn't have the new phones they have now a days. No. She likes her Razor and she will keep it for as long she can take care of it. Finding down to Eric's number, she starts calling him. Once he answers, "I have to tell you where I am, but there's one problem. How the hell can we explain to the Chief to what I found? I found the area where Karen was killed." Jayleigh voice sounds rather strained. She posed a good question. How can they honestly say how they found this area without the Chief assuming that Jayleigh may be the murderer the whole time? She does not want to tell chief about her powers. "Hey! So I know I just join your station but I can see and talk to spirits!" That never goes well for any normal people. She's just glad that Eric believes her or acts like it, it's all she needs now. Her almond hues watches the new spirit. It's rather odd. The spirits is being too quiet and just standing there in the corner of the room. Not moving. Not flinching. Hell, not even blinking and it's making Jayleigh a bit nervous.

"I'll take care of that." Eric answered without skipping a beat. The chief was used to his bull. He scanned the paper he was reading again. "Where are you?" He asked. His bit of news didn't sound as important as this. Eric started the car. The man drove quickly to the address he was presumably told, notifying the Chief on his way. Police were quick to follow. Eric got to the place some minutes before them, discovering the blood-filled room. There was a strong odor of Karen, but several other unique blood odors as well. It was sickening. Eric had to cover his nose as the smell wafting his sensitive nostrils. He pivoted out of the room before he felt the urge to barf, and rested against the wall with his eyes closed and his nose and mouth still covered. He would have to throw away his shoes if he got any of that blood on them. The odor would linger on them. Police arrived--crew began to close off and investigate the area. Many other were squimish by the sight, but a majority of them sucked it up, and went back in to help. Eric wouldn't even look inside again. He barely wanted to open his eyes or even breath.

Hearing her partner's response, Jayleigh bites her lower lip, wondering if she should tell him. Sighing softly, she glances towards the door where Karen has vanished for the time being. She owes the victims this. They need to be revealed. They need to be heard. Closing her eyelids, she tells Eric the address. Hanging up, Jayleigh doesn't feel comfortable in here anymore so she leaves to wait on Eric and the others arrival. Opening her mouth to warn Eric, he just marched right in. She felt a bit ignored. 'Thanks.' Saying nothing else, she places her hands into her jacket and leans against the building wall to wait for Eric. He seems to be taking some time. Curious, Jayleigh removes herself from the wall and went in to find Eric. Finding him in the hallway, he looks rather sick. Wanting his attention, her hand places on his arm, "Mannaster, are you alright?" She questions, her face have a hint of concern with him. She does agree that the room is sicking but she didn't know it would be that sicking to him.

Eric nodded hesitantly with his hand still covering his mouth. Slowly, he removed it. A couple of coworkers passed by, teasing Eric about his problem. "The detective so great can't handle all this gore?" One said, "I thought you seen some crazy stuff before." "It's never smelled this strongly, though." Eric muttered, but the guys didn't hear him. When they walked off, Eric awkwardly glanced to his partner, and then back down to the floor. "I...gave the tape to some men who will get out the footage." he informed.

Hearing the coworkers speak, Jensen approaches them with a deadly body language. "Talk like that again and you will have a broken nose. Is that clear?" She questions while glaring right up at the coworkers. As if daring them to touch her because if they do, they will go down. She's not trained for nothing. Jensen can hold her own and if they touch her, they will learn that the hard way. Instead, she gets cold looks from the coworkers as they don't' seem willing to fight Jensen with the Chief in the area as well. Once they left, Jayleigh hears his words as she glances towards Eric with a bit of confusion. Maybe he's sensitive? She has heard of people whose sense is more senstive than the other? Frowning, she doesn't like Eric's body language who is looking down at the floor. Sighing softly, she rubs the back of her head. She's been ignoring her body and Eric may have too. "Hey. We been at this since this morning and the sun is already set. We should try to at least get few hours of sleep." Jayleigh doesn't know if Eric would want to do that, but Jayleigh knows from her experience that the longer the body stays awake without rest, the worse the mind becomes. Reflexes are slower. Thinking process is slower as well.

Eric doesn't respond for a moment as he thinks about Jensen's suggestion. Right now, he could use some sleep and time to relax, but he wasn't sure how well he could relax when there were ghosts and mind-manipulating, insane murderers around. Still, it was worth a shot. Eric nodded slowly as he pushed himself off the off, and practically held his breath in fear of inhaling more of that horrid mix of odors all pointing to the dreaded word of death. Eric hated death. More specifically, he hated murder. To take someone's rights away with that kind of power over them was disgraceful. Eric looked down at Jayleigh. He stared in thought for a moment. Though his eyes were on her, his focus wasn't. He seemed to have zoned out into his own little world for a moment before he finally realized he was staring. He smirked to Jayleigh. "Do I still have to buy you that drink?" he asked, trying to distract himself from everything.

He became quiet. Very quiet. She can't tell if he's thinking about the offer or what the guys said. Damn it. She should went ahead and broke their nose. As they walked down a bit, Eric stopped which has a quizzical look on Jayleigh's face. He seems to stare down at her, making her a bit uncomfortable at this. They haven't been really making any eye contact lately. "Um. Eric.." She questions softly, but his expression shows that he is indeed; zoning out. After a bit, he smirks right at her and hears his expression. Ah. So change of topic? Two can play that game. "Aw come on. It won't be that bad. I know this really quiet place and it's a Tuesday night, there's not going to be alot of people there. Non-smoking as well I believe. Good food I heard. Let's check it out. It's only a block from my home." She wonders if Eric would take it up or not. If he does, they can have a quick drink, eat, and she can walk home and he can go to his home. Not to mention, she would be able to get a ride. If he's not up for it tonight, she will have to as if she can get a ride from the station and walk to her home from there.

Eric rolled his eyes a bit dramatically. "Fine." he said, keeping his smirk. He wasn't that good at keeping a light mood, but maybe this would avoid any questions about his breakdown for now. "You're on your own with the alcohol though." The man jingled his keys in his hand as he continued to the car.
With some directions from Jayleigh, Eric found the bar pretty quickly. He parked in the lot, looking up at the bar sign. The only time he ever went into a bar was when he was investigating a murder related to one. Even then, he wasn't around too many people for too long. Eric silently hoped he wouldn't be surround by too many idiots here. A quiet bar on a Tuesday probably meant just a couple introverted alcoholics.

Jayleigh smiles towards Eric warmly before shrugging. "That's fine with me. They have some virgin drinks for you." Jayleigh half teases to keep the mood a bit lighter. They know they need it. Entering the car, she tells him where to go. "Here we are!" Sure enough, there's few cars here. Entering the bar, they get a nice booth. There are few people at the bar, but they are quiet, watching tv and drinking their drink. Ordering her drink and food, Jayleigh becomes a bit distracted before looking at Eric. Anything they say here, she's sure that the other people won't take it seriously. "There was another spirit in that room Mannaster... and it's not... it's hard to explain. It's nothing I ever seen before. And that spirit is here. Hiding. I can't get a good look at him or her, ever. I've been trying but... I don't know. I think it's been compromised. I haven't even seen Karen since I found that room."

Eric ordered some food for himself as well. There's was a silence that he took to begin mindlessly scratching at the table. All movement stopped when Jayleigh spoke, and Eric's eyes shot up to look at her. His eyebrows furrowed in confusion at her words. That's creepy. "It's got a cloaking ability?" Eric responded dryly. "Maybe it's that man who supposedly wiped the doctor's memory? Maybe he's using his mind games on you." This was a shot in the dark that Eric was still debating whether or not he was serious about. By this point, that theory wouldn't surprise him.
