Short IC Response: The mare had traveled far with her beloved..it was truly magical that they had found one another but, as of now their attempts at starting their family hadn't worked out. There was the son they'd adopted....their mini son who had drawn them even closer together in those beginning days of love. Sadly Pali had grown up which left them again without the joy of little ones lighting up their life..making them laugh, making them grow as a family. Ever curious Ethanol had heard tale of this star..this bright magical thing that might grant your wish if you left an offering. Despite the knowledge that the wish might not come true the couple had journeyed all this way side by side with hopeful hearts. It was she who paused first to gaze up in wonderment at the bright glittering star hanging above them, such beauty. Then her gaze swept down to the multitude of hopeful offerings of many that had come before them..some had been trampled or fallen apart from being left so long out in the elements. Uncertainty filled the mares heart but, one glance at her beloved calmed the nervous feelings. " Star....my beloved mate and I humbly come to offer these gifts to you..in the hopes that you might gift us with a foal. Our only son has grown so quickly! My only wish at this time is to be a mother again, to raise a family with the one I treasure most in this life." Head bowed low she settled their offering into a clear patch of grass atop the hill..where the starlight would surely hit it..maybe then their wish wouldn't be lost among the hundreds of others. Ethanol could have spent the whole evening staring up at the star, willing it to 'see' within her heart. Into her very soul..and know that this wish was genuine. Thankfully Raphael nudged her along to a nearby area, the journey had taken it's toll on the both of them. The twin daggers glinted faintly in the starlight..while a little breeze push the pink & blue feathers together. Tucked close to her mates warm side the mare couldn't help but, grin ever so softly..red eyes fighting to stay open. "Thank you star.."

He knew about the wishing star - he had wished upon it a time or two, and now the rumor was that it was back again. What was the wishing star? Where was it? He wasn't quite sure, but he knew that it worked - it really did grant wishes. How it did was a mystery, all that mattered was that it did. And now he wanted to wish upon it once more.
It had been a few weeks since Evelyn and him had left their comfy little home in search of their boys. It was an interesting few weeks, and he absolutely loved every minute of it. She was perfect; she was amazing; she was....everything to him from the edge of the earth and back again. And she was his. Forever. They had proclaimed their love after all those years, and they were finally together.
Bliss would never claim that something was missing - no. Never. There was nothing missing, he had it all, and yet, he knew that there could be more. They had the boys, yes, but the boys were old and grown and all gone. The two of them got a fresh start at love, so why not a fresh start with family? The thought of the pitter-patter of little hooves made his heart melt.
He wanted to be a father again, but he was ancient, and Evelyn was not that young herself anymore. Could they reproduce? Would they have trouble? He wasn't sure, but the wishing star was there to help him, wasn't it? So there he was, staring up into space with a heartwarming smile on his face. "Oh wishing star, thing, I ask that you help Evelyn & I conceive. I do not know if she wants more children, but it would be fun, and great to be a father again with her...and I'm sure she'll be happy if and when they came."

Roxana looks over at the stallion, blushing slightly, heart bursting with joy. She has fallen head-over-heels for the cheerful, doting creature standing next to her, and she can hardly stand how much she adores him. Although they'd only known each other a short time, it somehow felt like he'd been around for her entire life. Her heart, so full of love and happiness, had already begun to dream of a family together. "Wishing Star!" she said. "We would be honored if you would send us a family. A hawk feather Short IC Response: Fable moved slowly through the grasses, cast alight in silver by the shade of the moon above. The family was growing, cousins, nephews, new siblings. The world, it seemed, was moving on with their lives and it left Fable feeling very much alone. He stood at the top of the hill, eyes closed as the wind pushed playfully through his mane. Taking a deep breath, he lowered his head close to the ground, eyes still shut tight. "Mirror, mirror on the wall..." He murmured under his breath, half joking, half almost expecting a response somehow. Just anything to know that something out there was still listening. The breeze picked up slightly, and he opened his eyes, emerald hues flashing bright in the darkness. "Please. I just don't want to be alone anymore." He raised his head to look up to the stars, focusing on one that twinkled far more brightly than the rest. "A family of our own, it would be so much more than just a dream." It seemed as though his words fell on deaf ears, but as he reached over his shoulder and removed a long hawk feather from a knot in his mane and gently laid across a rock. It fluttered in the wind before finally got kicked up and started floating in the air, twisting and spinning like an intricate dance. "Please. I've never wanted anything more."

Short IC Response: Leilani gazed above herself at the bright shining Wishing Star. She'd heard the rumors of this amazing star and the powers it had and tonight it was shining above the Kawani Lands again. She approached the altar that was directly below the star, wondering who had set it up and if they had meant it for the star or if it was a mere coincidence. Shaking her head the orange and green mare walked forward and set her offering down amidst the others who had come before her. She placed the feather first, plucking it from her wing with a sharp pull. The pain reverberated down her wing, but the physical pain was nothing compared to the ache of loneliness she felt everyday on her travels to heal the sick and injured. She had chosen her own path and did not regret it, but that didn't mean on her long journeys that she didn't feel alone, without even a small companion to keep her company like her herd sister Blight had. The flower she set on top of the feather, a small breeze from the north caused the feather to ruffle slightly and she couldn't help the laugh that bubbled from her. Here she was wishing on a star for children when she could be out meeting males and settling down. In the end the Stallion that had agreed to help her have children had been chance met in the desert area. Sandsablaze was a handsome stallion of that no one could dispute. His amazing mane and tail flowing in the hot desert wind. Shaking her head the mare went back to what she was doing and looked up to the star, "Star light, star bright, first star I see tonight. I wish I may, I wish I might, have this wish I wish tonight." With her wish made the green and orange mare turned her back on the altar, every hope she had laid on the star and its magical powers, to lay down under a flowering tree nearby, content to watch the stars, and feel the spring breeze dancing its way through her long, slightly bound mane.

It was quite a hike for the two small friends and the made it to the top just as the sun disappeared over the horizon. Small stars started to appear in the sky. Gradually a large bright star appeared. The light from the star bathed the two and shone down on a small alter like rock. They approached it together and looked up at the star. Mintireo started her plea. "Wishing Star... Please... I would love to help raise a foal with my friend Sounansha. We have been friends for a long time now... And we both would enjoy having someone to teach and to watch grow." She looked up at the star wistfully then placed her riding crop down on the smooth rock. Looking over at Sounansha, he started his plea to the star. "Oh Great Star, Mintireo and I would love very much to raise a small one of our own. We would help each other out and would make sure the child knew love like no other." He looked over at Mintireo. "We want to show the child love like Mintireo's father does for her. An unconditional love." He looked up at the star and smiled at it, then placed his torch in the ground next to the smooth rock. The pair then laid next to each other, content to watch the stars in the sky until the sun came up.

They are tied together by some stands of fur donated by Static. Short IC Response: The exhausted kalona finally clambered his way to the top of the hill, his lazy companion free riding upon his back the entire time. "Wake up, we're here." He grumbled, clapping his hooves against the dirt impatiently as he waited for Static to awaken. 'Alright, alright sheesh!' Static mumbled, climbing off of his owner's back and onto the ground. Their genes were one and the same. Clearing his throat, the male raised his head to its fullest and began to speak. "Strife offers you a piece of himself, a piece of his life in exchange for someone to carry on his legacy. Someone to teach his ways, and someone to keep him in check." Releasing his grip upon the item in question he took a step back and finally looked up to the sky. "Strife asks very little of you star ... do not disappoint him." Stomping a hoof upon the ground once more, he turned and walked away from the star, nodding towards his familiar to follow suit. He would soon be with his lady friend once more, and not a word of this would be spoken. Not to her, not to anyone. Instead of following suit, Static did the opposite and went right back to the star. "I also ask for a basket for my dearest friend. But not for his own reasons. He needs someone to protect, and cherish. Please Mr. ... OR MRS! Star ... Grant his wish ... just this once." And with a gentle bow, Static ran after his partner in crime, fully prepared to sleep the whole way down the mountain once again.

Often she had watched it gaze down upon the herd while on her nightly patrol. She loved to stargaze which is why she often chose the night shift. As a guardian of the Vitterfolk she didn't have as much time in raising her children and already they had come and gone. Still, her daughter was here and would become the new leader of the Vitterfolk when Malis stepped down. While she was proud of her daughters growth, especially in these hard times, she had a yearning to hear the patter of little hooves once more. Looking up at the star once more, a thought took seen within her mind. Maybe she should as the spirit of the star. If it was meant to be, maybe she could have a child once more. This time, the 'gryph thought to herself, she would make sure she had time to spend with her children.
Journeying to the edge of the WillowGlen territory, Ysiel looked up once more and placed a delicate necklace upon the ground. "Dear spirits of the wishing star. I have a dream of children once more. Please, if I am worthy, can you grant me such a thing? I'd be much grateful and honored." She looked around slightly and gathered a few flowers near by to place around the necklace and fashion a quick alter. "Thank you for listening." Short IC Response: Teague and Naimh walked, side by side to the hill where they'd heard wishes could be granted. They'd snuck away from the herd, a secret for two...or four. Blythe and Spokes had come along, wanting another family member as much as their soquili companions. When they crested the ridge of the wishing star hill, they paused, taking in the array of twinkling lights above. Naimh smiled and turned to her beloved. "I think we've made it honey, I think we've found it. I can feel it in my bones. We are meant to be here." Teague gently placed their prize on the ground. A squirrel hair, a nymph hair and a pixie hair, weaved together and wrapped around a long feather. He nodded, never one for words, and returned his mate's smile. They shared a look, a nuzzle, a moment. They slowly ambled back down the herd, quietly whispering sweet nothings to eachother. A squirrel and a crow watched happily, before sharing a glance and following behind their chosens.

A lit candle in the darkness Short IC Response: Tell me a little about your couple. What does you soquili ask/tell the wishing star when he or she comes to ask for a basket? Rose'nem tossed his main of main of mint curls - they were always getting underfoot! - and walked slowly toward the cliffs edge. The night was a good one, clear, calm, and cold, without a cloud in the sky. He looked up into the stars, crystalline and sparkling in a veil of light, and wondered if anyone was looking back at him. His mind went to the reason he had come, to Shi'Kahana. She was lovely and fierce and steadfast. How very much Rose'nem had admired her, from the very day they met. He felt blessed that she had agreed to carry his foals, gifted with his very own precious ball of light.
Glancing up a the stars again, he turned his head and gently removed one of the flaming candles from his back that had been lit for just this purpose. He carefully placed it on the ground in front of his hooves, carefully not to burn himself. He bowed his head for a long moment and then looked toward the night sky again. "Let this be an offering. Let it burn for Shi'. Let it call down stars from the sky to fill our baskets and make them our own." He bowed his head again, waited a moment, and turned and walked slowly down the hill again.
