Thraen is on the 1st floor! ( going down to second)
The decision to tail the lower ranked agents was fruitful at first, and then wholly unnecessary- the aura that poured out like a nuclear fallout was unmistakably that of the Dark Mirror Princess. Of course. Why shouldn't she be well enough after that to put in an appearance...there with starseeds to heal and senshi with healing magic. She must have been reassured enough to join on by that General King. Whatever goes on behind closed doors. How little footing the strike gained us.
I wonder if any of them will be present- Wolframite, Zircon, Bischofite. The stay of execution is over, if they are. As he drew closer, watching other senshi and knights filter in to the building, or around it, the smoke and heat became equally explicit. God's breath did that eternal have more magic in her? Did she set this place on fire as well? It makes this whole thing a death trap if there's no sprinkler system.
Thraen didn't stop his approach, instead only prompting him to tear a length from his sash-train to wrap as a filter. He hopped once before ducking in, intending to move quickly. Smoke was filtering up from below, belching out vents. There were remnants of magic flung hither and thither. Sure enough the fire eternal was there and engaged with Leto, uncrowned already, and another mirror senshi. The corrupted from earlier was there. There was another corrupted eternal engaged with others, and there were flitting forms of order members among the giant stacked sundry.
Eternal speed made it the work of a moment to scale to a stack-vantage and follow the safety yellow lines on the floors for the forklifts to locate the empty elevator shaft and flitting forms disappearing down the stairs.
Stairs it is. He made for that direction, eyes already watering for the smoke but undeterred.

Athene is heading down to the second floor via the stairs
It had been hard to miss the sudden whir of machinery starting up, or the sudden 'ding' that followed, but the lift (freight elevator) had already been heading downwards by the time Athene made it over which had left the stairs as being his sole option for heading downwards - unless he wanted to wait for the lift, which didn't seem that practical given that there something was on fire down below - he wasn't feeling particularly keen about trying those stairs either though.
He took some precautions - his long black hair was stuffed behind his cloak-like sailor collar and the torn red fabric that he'd spotted lying near the lift had given him the idea of pulling out the water bottle from his satchel and using it to damp his under-sash as best he could before wrapping the material around his face and nose, but eventually he had done all he could which meant that he was left with those stairs.
Staring at them isn't going to get you down them faster you know he told himself after a moment of doing just that and made himself take a step forward and then another. The next steps were easier and the ones after that easier yet as he broke into a trot and then a full out sprint. Something seems to be happening below, I just need to try to get down as fast as I can.
With only two options to pick from, Leda pressed the switch that soon guided the veritable group downward in a slight rumble before the ride evened out. She watched their view of the first floor thin out before finally dissipating into the thick middling area between ceiling and floor. For a moment, Leda wondered if such a massive concrete divide would crumble or even so much as groan at the pressure from the fire.
And then the heat hit her.
Initially the searing blast spirited her breath away, left her exposed skin to sizzle beneath its assault. The roar came next, as the deafening blaze licked up the pallets of cardboard sitting unprotected. From what she could spot from vague squints against the heat, flames claimed the majority of the floor but hadn't yet spread higher.
She couldn't bear to keep staring.
With a muffled grunt, Leda shrank down near the side of the elevator for a desperate reprieve from the blistering heat. It offered little; if she could think beyond the flames, she might've considered looking for signs of life within. However, Leda only settled for depressing the switch to the lowest level in an effort to part their group from the heat. Already it starved her of air; what had it done to the poor souls who sat in the elevator with her?
"I'm so sorry," she muttered to everyone in the elevator beyond the strip of train covering her mouth. If there was anyone in there... they're gone now. I hope that floor was empty from the start... "But, I think we might be getting closer to the agents." She soon realized her last statement was unnecessary, as their signatures were nearly atop them.

"Let's stick together," came a clipped command as Astarte retained her hold on the senshi's arm. Already Canopus slipped away from her; Astarte found little reason to go running about on her own when power levels enunciated a clear disadvantage to her. "Shite, I can't see anything through this jungle... Who in the blazes of hell conjured up this trick? Quite the witch, at that..." Through her mutterings, Astarte peered into the depths of the illusory jungle, hoping for some indication toward stairs or a lift.
Surely enough, the stairs stood at the far end of their aisle.
"Let's make a dash for it. Cover your mouth!" Afterward the Demon held a gloved arm over her nose as she started toward the stairs. A quick sprint took her past the Dark Mirror princess and the grappling eternal senshi, while they fought against a floor now superheated and painful to the touch. Astarte found no reason to linger; the two felt akin to one another in terms of power, and Astarte soon recognized the Wildfire Senshi from before shouldn't have too many problems. Next to her, though...
"Canopus!" She called to her mirror friend while still clutching Megrez's arm. "Come on! We haven't got much time!" However, Canopus wasn't listening.
In a huff, Astarte turned toward the egg senshi. "You go on - use the stairs there. I'll catch up with you in a touch. Got a friend to drag to hell with me." After offering a quirky grin, Astarte waved the girl away.
While the heat seared her eyes, her skin, and parched her lips, she still forced herself toward the Dark Mirror she met some time ago. A good girl, worthwhile sidekick, definitely not worth leaving in the thick of flames. "Come on!" She called again, and tried for the girl's arm.

As the lift groaned angrily above him, Bischofite's upper lip twitched in irritation. Already they've bypassed the flames... I wonder if there's a mole among us. This entire mission played out too far in their favor, for those completely oblivious to our tasks. I suspect Admin may be the culprit, if not one of these spineless lieutenants plucked from the depths of the internet... The price I pay for covert recruitment.
Bischofite swapped his pair of chakrams to one hand in order to make use of his communications crystal. "Strike Team, Recon Team, fall back to ze sird floor. Our enemy awaits; it seems even smoke and flame will not deter zem. See to it zat deas' will." If nothing else, he hoped the roof may yet collapse upon the lot of them and eliminate the majority of Negaverse opposition. And for the lives sacrificed on the side of the ark Kingdom... What is lost will be redistributed accordingly. Was such a price worth paying for the end of his endeavors?
Perhaps.
"Hurry up, Malicious," he called over his shoulder, half-lidded eyes more expressive of concern than impatience.
Malicious only smiled to herself, now thoroughly immersed in the epicenter of energy. "You should pull a starseed for me, General." She paused a moment, a clawed finger hesitating atop her lower lip. She gasped gently. "Too bad you'll need it far more than I will." So she couldn't deny herself one last little quip.
Gritting his teeth, Bischofite felt all sense of assuredness concerning this mission suddenly drop through his core - a cold stone lurched into a bottomless well. Inwardly he wondered if his viscera reoriented themselves around its passing, though his forethoughts centered around the myriad of obstructions preventing him from reaching his goal.

Megrez is on the first floor, heading down to the second!
"Wait, are we sticking together or...?" Megrez then made the call herself. "Okay, I'm going on ahead! I'll probably go all the way down if the fire's on the next floor." She charged for the stairs and headed down, noticing that it felt hotter the further down she went. The fire must be around here, she thought to herself, casting a cursory glance over her shoulder to see if the other senshi (Astarte) was following or not.
Canopus is on the first floor, being moved to the third floor.
Canopus didn't know who Gunn was nor what history her princess and the Eternal may have shared once upon a time. She didn't even know what they were talking about, as her mind was focused solely on the task of saving Leto. If she had known the story the two held, she may have found her heart beating in compassion for Gunn's words, and had she known Gunn, she would have known that she was very, very lucky that the Eternal hadn't simply set her on fire the moment she had the chance. She would have appreciated the chance to escape, but Canopus knew none of this. All she knew was that she threatened Leto's life, and she could not allow that!
"No... no I won't abandon my princess! I'd rather die!" And Canopus meant it. She was going to step in front of her princess's form the moment she got back to her feet, but it was the arrival of Persephone, a Negaverse senshi, that stopped her. She was surprised to see a Negaverse officer of any kind come rushing to Leto's aid, but Canopus would not question her, not when it was clear that she was trying to safeguard not only Leto's life but her own. At her command, she reached out for Persephone, but another had grabbed her arm first. Only then did she see Astarte and acknowledged the overwhelming smoke and the burning sensation of her toes, and she let out a breathless shout as she tried to resist Astarte's pull but could not fight the pain from the burning concrete beneath her. "Pl-please, save Leto! Please! Princess, please be safe!"
How shameful was it that she could not protect Leto, but maybe Persephone could. Maybe... there was good left in the Negaverse? It was all too confusing, and the smoke made it hard for her to resist Astarte's pull for much longer. Eventually she gave in and ran with her, hoping that her princess would not think her unworthy of their court for fleeing right now. She'd only get in the way... for now, she had to trust Leto could protect herself and that Persephone wasn't merely luring her into another trap.

Sarras is on the bottom floor.
In all honesty he deserved it and Sarras wasn't going to argue with that. If one threw punches around, man, woman or child, then it would stand to reason that he would expect to take a punch on his own, and took it he did. Right in the jaw! Whoever snuck up on him made it clear that he would not be putting up with much bullshit and Sarras could admire that, even if he barely caught himself from losing his balance and hitting the ground. What angered him more, however, was his verbal insult, and Sarras immediately gave chase, hollering back to him and running straight for the stairs. "Don't you ********' call me an idiot! You're the assholes that lit this place up!"
Between his hacking and his appearance, it was likely hard for anyone to take the Cosmos page seriously, he thought bitterly to himself, and though he was quick to give chase, it was painfully easy to lose track of the officer, his black attire blending in well with the billowing smoke and natural darkness of the staircase. He cursed aloud but tried to focus on keeping his head about him- he needed his head for whatever the hell awaited them at the bottom of this staircase. Whoever set the fire was likely trying to keep them away from whatever the Negaverse had lying in wait down there, and whatever petty revenge he accumulated to the lieutenant that socked him would mean little if they failed to stop it.
So, down the staircase he went, taking leaps and jumps over steps to bypass as many steps as possible. Something big was going on downstairs and so the Cosmos knight descended down into the depths of hell, armed with nothing more than his bare fists and the knowledge that a scheme needed to be stopped. Maybe if he ran into a lieutenant on his way down, he could pin them and force the information out of them... make one of them squeal! It was the start of a plan, at least. Better to go in with an idea of what to expect when he made it to the bottom floor rather than run ahead and look like a damned fool again.

Tsui is now on the bottom floor.
The others on the elevator were making plans and trying to guess what laid below, but the Tiger senshi gave the matter little thought or consideration. She stood there, hands balled up and so tight that they began to ache and legs spread apart, looking ready to sprint out of the lift the moment the doors open. In fact, that was exactly what she was going to do. For better or for worse, Tsui was trapped in tunnel vision, thinking only of finding where Benitoite had went and snapping that spear of his in two before beating him down with it. She told herself that she wasn't going to kill him, but she was going to make sure he was brought to some kind of justice for what he had not only done to her, but what he had done to Bazzite.
Others may have spoken to her, but Tsui paid them little mind. Like an angered tiger pacing in a cage, knowing that the door would open soon, her claws were ready and her teeth were bared, and though wounded, the anger she felt was one hell of an anesthetic. The moment the doors opened, this tiger would dig her claws into the earth beneath her and lunge out for the attack, and heaven help whoever was the vanguard of the Negaverse for when the Eternal Senshi of Tigers made her pounce.
The lift came to a halt, she sneered and bent her knees. The doors opened. She pounced, rushing out the minute the doors had cleared the way, and her golden eyes locked on her first target, never looking at their face or taking in their features before unleashing her attack. SailorTsui’s Tiger Fist Strike’s power is enhanced significantly, as not only is her blow knocks the enemy back, but it also stuns them if she is able to make it connect, leaving them open for attack. This attack still requires her to be in close range combat, much like the first attack, but she puts more ‘umph’ behind her blows to physically stun the enemy, in hopes of preventing an immediate retaliation. Her time spent honing her powers has allowed her to aim at particular body parts, giving her the time to aim for an arm or leg to strike to immobilize that part of their body for 5 seconds, though at the cost of her having a more likely chance to miss. If she connects, she can knock the enemy back with a chance to stun.
*Knocks enemies back 4 feet *Chance to physically stun enemy for 5 seconds *Can attack twice turns per battle

Mica, Vespa and Buddingtonite are on the bottom floor!
Thus far, things had been going remarkably well for the Strike Team, and General Mica was certainly proud that every officer present did their part. Even Vespa seemed to have played his part with quickness and efficiency, which said much for the clumsy little wasp. She enjoyed the enthusiasm that Cyllene displayed as well and she flashed the corrupted super an approving look as Benitoite made his presence known.
"There's no need for that. You looked like you had it rough out there," Mica said with a listless smile, opting to be more polite than to hassle the other general for his tardiness. There was no point in chiding him for that and she knew him to be a good officer- whatever reason he had for being late was likely an understandable situation and honestly, it wasn't as though they had suffered from his absense here. The flames were lit and the smoke was rising, and that meant that the first step in the Strike team's mission was completed. That's all that mattered to her for now. "Prepare to move on to the next and hopefully final stage. I'll be happy with all of this is over."
She may not have known what was going on above them, or below them, but it was time to move to the bottom floor. She had an uneasy feeling in her gut and it had nothing to do with the toxic smoke that now threatened them. Thanks to the roaring flames, she couldn't hear the lift's jumpstart, but she did hear Bischofite's order, and that was all she needed to hear. She called out to the rest of her troops, though it was unnecessary.
Only morons would have stayed on this floor.
"Strike Team, make your way to the bottom floor, on the double. Do not make us carry you, as the Negaverse has no use for dead weight!"
And with that, she reached for Vespa and teleported herself and him down below. Now the real fight could begin...

Mica is open to any and all attacks! Let her have it!
Eternal Vespa watched as the flames spread. There was no glee in his form, nor really a single sign of life. If one looked closely at the Wasp senshi, past the multicolored visor that hid away his green eyes, they might have seen the hint of tears that was rising, and it had nothing to do with the blast of heat that hit his face. The flames spread, and with it, so would Chaos. Was that what Chaos was? A raging wildfire that could not be contained or controlled? Even when he didn't want to follow the order, he did, with only minor hesitation. He had contributed to this fire and to the suffering of those above them, and before long, the flames would eventually consume this floor and spread everywhere... eventually, this warehouse would be consumed from within. Like the Chaos that settled deep within his starseed, it would devour the outer shell until there was nothing salvageable left, and he wondered for a moment... if he should have been one with the flames.
It was so tempting. He watched the flames dance and swirl around, their motions seductive, like the power of Chaos to other members of his team, and in a way, to him. He wanted to move to stand in the flames and let them consume him until there was nothing left. Death by these flames must have been quicker and less damning to his soul than allowing the corruption in his soul to spread any further... right?
Suddenly, Mica grabbed him, and within the blink of an eye, he found himself free from the fire's grip. It was cold again, dark, and he was surrounded by other members of chaos, but there was no warmth there. There could be no warmth there. Not for Vespa. He felt like a wasp, waiting amongst a sea of honeybees, all of them willing to throw down their lives for the cause, while he merely siphoned from their hard work. They were ordered to defend the crystals with their lives, with so few genuinely knowing the reward, nor the risk, but Vespa knew that whatever the reward for this could not be worth it. He knew nothing of Malicious, or Bischofite outside of their fateful encounter, but he knew that if the Negaverse succeeded here, then it would not bode well for Destiny City. He knew this, but what could he do... but obey the order?
The parasite knew better than to strike against its host... until the time was right.
The doors to the lift had opened and out came a flash of white. Now was not the time to think. Now was the time to fight!

There was nothing in this universe that was more horrifying to hear than Bischofite's laughter. Hearing of a loved one's demise? News of your own untimely demise to a painful disease? Finding out that the one woman you failed to provide a condom to was pregnant with your child? Those caused involuntary shivers to run down Buddingtonite's spine, but they failed in comparison to that laughter, and maybe it was that notion that finally made the rose-clad general realize just how grave this situation truly was, as well as just how deep his that jagged dagger went.
"Bisch... God dammit Bischofite!" It wasn't like Buddingtonite to snap, and though there was still a hint of a smile there, it was strained, fragile, and one had to be deaf or completely void of understanding human emotions not to hear the anger in those words. He was being used. He was being used by Bischofite again. Again! Before he could turn to Bischofite and engage in a verbal assault, the hum of the lift grew louder and louder, and the shift in both Bischofite and Serpentine was more than enough to rattle Buddingtonite's nerves. He turned to the approaching lift and though he held his weapon in his hands, he was not quick to take a stand at the front lines like his partner was. He sent Serpentine a look, one that he knew his friend, the friend that would never lie or use him like a puppet, a look that he knew he'd understand.
"Bischofite, I like you. I really do. But this? I'm not throwing my life on the line, for you and another one of your games." He had been through a lot today, and he knew he was being emotional. He had tried to reign them in, he had tried to reason with himself that Bischofite meant the best-
No, this is typical Bischofite behavior. You know this and you still go crawling back to him.
"I wish you the best of luck with this endeavor, Bischofite," Buddingtonite said, his voice a faux pleasant tone, and the way he tipped his hat made it very, very clear what his intentions were for this fight. Others would get to see Buddingtonite, the real Buddingtonite, and for the moment, he no longer cared. The White Phoenix event was still fresh on his mind and the wounds that he aggravated again tonight, only to be someone else's puppet? It was too much. It was all too much. "I can't tell what Serpentine to do, but I'm taking Turquoise and I'm getting out of here before I become a martyr for someone else's entertainment. Don't die here, Bischofite... I want to witness whatever our esteemed General-King's punishment first hand first thing in the morning when this plan of yours goes to hell!"
He grabbed his communication crystal, his voice sharp and jagged, and then silence as the crystal fell from his shaking hand. "Turquoise, where is your location? We're leav..."
A flash of white alerted him to the lift that had arrived, but it wasn't the Tiger senshi that he saw. It was...
Themiscyra is on the first floor (heading down via stairs)
The Page felt a tad pale as she'd somehow--vaguely, semi-sort of, ugh whatever--caught up to at least two familiar faces. There'd been zero shame as she'd cheered herself that tiny smidgen with the thought that moment she could, she'd be very much latching onto a certain Knight's cape. All the while wincing around deep breaths as she ran through the . Her side was <******** killing her from where Jarosite had kicked her. The area was tender, gulps of breath sending pins and needles and knives and all around made her deeply regret running after them after dealing with that dazed youma. ******** Captain. She was going to shove those dinky knives of his down his ******** throat. It did dimly occur to her she was overreacting over some ribcage pain, but she chocked it up to the interrupted fights, the lack of a proper vent, and her utter confusion as she walked from one mess of a battlefield to another.
The fact she was trying to not suck in smoke in the process... yeah. Themiscyra coughed more than a few times before she tugged at her toga and drew it somewhat over her nose and mouth awkwardly. She'd spotted Ganymede, two other senshi she'd never seen (Leda and Varuna)--the latter of whom seemed to be holding something (Liryn)--and thought she was close enough... only to curse anew when she realized they were already heading down in the elevator. "Oh ********... Guess I'm meeting you downstairs then, Val," she'd shouted to the Knight, cussing all the more before making as much of a beeline as she could towards the stairs. After... uh. Taking the moment to even find them. The fight around the floor was a tad distracting, particularly as she kept glancing around to see if Ashur had followed her or not.
The stairs flew beneath her heels, and she took definite notice of how she wasn't alone in her race down. At first, she for the most part ignored other bodies. They weren't the people she was looking for. Her focus was on her feet, on jumping down as many stairs at a time as she could. It was impossible to not pause though, for just a breath, as the heat reared up around her as she descended. "...guess this'll be the test if I'm a Roman Martian or a DC Comics Martian," she half-laughed, pushed herself further towards the blaze. Could she even reach the elevator from the stairs..? But her pause had been enough to make her glance towards any other body that was vaguely near her. Call it a moment of weakness. What her eyes landed on at least made a bubble of laughter pop through. She told herself that was not an edge of hysteria she heard on it. "Well ********, least I'm not the most flammable thing going down here." Red eyes were snagged on the man covered in flowers and vines (Thraen)--a rather attractive look all together, really. But heading into a fire... eh. She briefly entertained the thought of if those Eternal butt-bow-wings were flame resistant or not.

Metis is on the first floor!
Metis had come in a bit behind her teammates, trying to not leave the guardian behind, but her teeth grit as she watched them engage against more copper figures--didn't take much guessing to figure out who they must be. Or at least what side they were on. She'd seen one figure--easy to assume a senshi in context--launch what was, in her vision, a white ball of something at Iris, and though Psyche was also heading for that senshi, she'd taken a few long steps in the same direction. All with the intent of sending her own magic into the fight. Only to stop, hearing the voice somewhat behind her and for a moment... was tempted to keep moving. Get to the fight, make sure her teammates were ok. Do what she could to keep attacks off the stronger fighters. Wouldn't it be best for him to stay on the sidelines anyways? But to just leave someone behind didn't quite sit right with her, nor should it. Shaking herself from the strange sensation, she turned back to quickly crouch by Thetis, gloved hands moving carefully around the guardian. To keep him in her arms or to allow him the range to move onto her shoulder--his choice. "Sorry, sorry," she repeated multiple times, though aware the cat wouldn't have known of her momentary thoughts.
She still knew of them.
Standing, she turned back towards the commotion... only to stare, suddenly aware of... um. Green energy pulsated every which way, smothering any real hint of the copper she'd seen this way and that where boxes and fixtures and walls didn't block the waves. She moved forward tentatively, scanning the aura she knew came from plants with a scowl. "Thetis... what are you seeing?" One moment they were in a warehouse. The next? A... jungle? The Senshi of the Third Eye huffed, moving with a hint more reassurance as she went. She'd experienced this before, back with the Shade Queen's attack. Where it came from, she had no idea. But she knew the general direction she'd seen Iris in, and headed that way. Her eyes scrunched shut though, hit by the growing amount of smoke. That was messing her vision more than the random flora. Made the waves reflect and warp, never mind had her coughing a bit before she ducked her head a little. "Tell me if you see Iris or Psyche. My vision's a tad.. disrupted at the moment. Yours likely is better right now." Least his yellow aura was a nice disruption from the green. But as she kept moving, she couldn't help but let herself be pushed by that reassurance--maybe she'd see the other copper auras before they saw her.

Falias is in between the second and third floors and heading down via the stairs
It was by luck rather than design that Falias managed to stumble on the stair case, near to the freight elevator. The elevator itself was heading down and thus no route down that way unless he tried going down the shaft which he wasn't particularly inclined to.
So it looked like the stairs was going to be his option by default. There was what looked to be a scrap of red fabric and mindful of the smoke rising from somewhere below Falias picked up the material before darting for the stairs and did his best to keep his nose and mouth covered as he continued to run.
He could hear clatter of footsteps ahead of him, deducing that he wasn't the only one on the stairs. His outfit feeling swelteringly hot as he hit the second floor and the fire. The stairs were continuing and so Falias kept running, hearing footsteps on the stairs behind him and hoping the cause was ally rather than foe, eyes glancing down to the bottom which was getting closer.
Quote:
Anyone is welcome to interact with Falias but please quote me if you do so that I don't miss it.
The lasso disappeared from around her neck and so did the pain. Her scream had stopped a bit earlier and now, she felt embassement while her hands touched her neck carefully. She hadn't meant to scream. She hadn't meant to get caught. She had thought she was better than this.
Well, now was not time to swell in self-pity. She needed to act, to distract the Order as long she was here. Which wasn't long. The smoke was getting thicker and thicker which meant it was soon time to go downstairs. Quickly she pushed one of the boxes down, hoping it would distract them at least if nothing else and then ran towards the way where two eternals were. Which one she would approach? The other one was busy with the princess (Persephone) and the other one was in the middle of fight (Ate).
"Would anyone mind giving me a lift?" she called out, just before Bischofite's order was heard from communication crystals. "Understood, sir."
But it was not the only call she received.
Buddingtonite's voice rang in her ears. The sudden silence rang in her ears. Something is wrong. Her heart skipped a beat and cold spines ran across her back.
"I'm in the top floor, sir," she answered, waiting for the answer. It didn't come.
"General? ... ... General Buddingtonite? .... What is going on down there? Answer to me..... Hey, answer! ... ... Buddy? ... Buddy, hey, answer!"
The smoke lingered in her lungs and her plead for answers was interupted by violent coughing.

Ganymede is now on the bottom floor via elevator!
The elevator being so easy to get up and running should have set off the warning bells in her head, and there was a small part of her brain that considered the possibility that this was a terrible idea, but as far as she was concerned the entire night had been a terrible idea. It didn't seem right not to see it through to the end.
They'd gotten this far. Everything about this evening seemed like a win to her.
In any case, she still only had one good attack left and she didn't fancy heading down into a mob of Negaverse agents with nothing to use to defend herself with. Before the elevator could screech its way down, she made a B-line to one of the pallets and hastily ripped open a few boxes (thank you, Senshi strength; she didn't have time to go looking for a box cutter, beneficial as that might have turned out to be in a fight). She found a set of pots and pans and determined they would have to do, digging into the box for the largest frying pan she could find.
Then it as down they went. The brief stop at the second floor had her inching toward the back of the elevator, keen on avoiding the flames (and here she was glad she'd already ripped her train off; that would have been the first thing to catch on fire, no doubt). She stumbled around in the heat, joining Leda near the controls in an attempt to assist her with shutting the door and taking them lower.
“To the bottom it is,” she observed.
What could possibly await them down there, she didn't have a clue. Ganymede didn't allow herself to conjure up any potential scenarios. The minute she started doing that would be the minute her confidence left. She didn't want to stumble into another fray without it. She'd spent too many battles lost and cowering to let her resolve be shaken here at the end.
Her grip tightened on the handle of the frying pan as the elevator screeched to a halt at the very bottom. The mesh door lifted. Out of the corner of her eye Ganymede saw Tsui make the first charge. Ganymede followed after, though her movements were not so quick as to constitute a pounce. She sauntered out with the frying pan hoisted over her shoulder, scanning the area of the bottom floor to seek out any familiar faces.
“Well, look who it is,” she drawled. She took off the fabric covering the lower half of her face now that they were at less of a risk of inhaling too much smoke. Her expression looked smug, quite contrary to her feelings. She didn't exactly like being two floors below with a fire right above them, but she was still capable of bluffing.
“If I didn't know any better I'd say I just found my three favorite Generals in one place,” she said. First, she paid particular attention to Buddingtonite, gracing him with a wave that might have looked flirty under different circumstances. The look on his face was amusing. “Don't worry, sweetie, we had our fun earlier, and something tells me this wasn't even your idea. Anyway, as much as it pains me to admit it, there are few of you I wouldn't care if I happened to see dead, and lucky for you, you're not one of them.
“But him,” she extended her arm to wield her mighty frying pan like one might a sword, managing to look vaguely challenging despite her slender build and slight stature as she directed her attention next to Bischofite. “If he died I don't think I'd be too upset about it.”

Serpentine is on the bottom floor.
The taciturn man was more than happy to leave Buddingtonite to the words that expressed the anger they both shared. His partner intended to leave and that was more than fine by him. Knowing that the ginger was safe would make the rest of the fight all that much easier. Retreat was not a path Serpentine could take, at least not yet. He had a platoon of soldiers relying on him for commands and for support. He was a vain man disgusted with this entire operation and his own appearance... but one manner in which he prided that he was separate from Bischofite was that he would support those who pledged themselves to him, not abandon them. If the time for retreat came--an at this point, it seemed inevitable--he would issue the order and aid those beneath him before he departed.
As the elevator doors opened, Serpentine raised the whip initially to strike at Ganymede, the fire he had endured this night reflecting in his eyes. No, she had not used her burning on him... but she had hurt his partner severely. His own revenge against the two responsible for his madness could come later. His focus did not grace her for long, however, when he saw a familiar flying white object. Tsui. Tiger-striped b***h, destroyer of that he had spent a decade building... the reason he had accepted the Dark Gift in the first place.
The other officers had their orders and would contact him if they needed support. Buddingtonite had already screeched his plan to flee, and his partner hoped he followed through with it immediately. Bischofite? ... well, Bischofite could just hold his own for a while. For now, he shifted his aim towards that streak of white and hoped it struck her before she had a chance to ferret her way out.

Bischofite focused wholly on Buddingtonite, who now forsook any previous inclinations toward mirth or grandeur. "Zis is no game, Buddy," he replied in a quiet seethe. "I'f finished wis' games. If you can't see zis attempt for iits benefits to ze Negaverse, beyond sanctions from our higher-ups, zen you're nossing more zan a mindless pawn and ze whole of ze Dark Kingdom affords no use for you beyond a ******** meat shield." Already his hands quaked with the anger that roiled within his heart, and Bischofite dismissed his communications crystal to redistribute his chakrams.
A single blade raised toward the offending general, poised at the neck. "You're not srowing your life on ze line for me, nor are you leaving me." He spoke evenly, despite the inward inclinations to bury the chakram into Buddingtonite's jugular. "I'f spent too many hours plotting zis endeavor out, contacting all of you and coordinating a fair portion of ze Negaverse to call zis plan into fruition. Were zis a game... What use haf' i for spoil sports who seeks to turn tail and run once matters take a turn for ze worse? You misunderstand me, Buddingtonite - you can call me a selfish little s**t, a misanthrope, a petty deceiver - but you can't say zat I haf' no passion for ze Negaverse."
"What happens here... Our standing in ze war will shift. Permanently." Finally he lowered his chakram, as gold eyes settled on Ganymede, who called to them beyond the length of a frying pan. "We'f no more time to waste on pointless discussions." Bischofite readjusted his grip and dispatched a blade into the crowd, aiming for those misfortunate enough to pour through the elevator.
However, Bischofite was not the only plotter present. "General Buddingtonite," came a coo from the youma beyond the generals. "You know what he's doing, right? Of course you do. You're a smart man. You know this portal charade was all a hoax, his own brand of distraction to get you and your friends to hop on board with the idea. But you know he's really trying to turn Destiny City into a second Rift. You know he wants this place good and dead for all his little youma friends to hang about and devour the neighboring towns. It's a cute idea, isn't it?" She offered the redhead a mimicked smile.

The real plan is revealed! Anyone is free to overhear Malicious! Likewise, all factions are free to attack Bischofite as a result - but any attack aimed for Malicious will be intercepted (it's important that she is not attacked directly as part of the plot)!
Sure, lighting the floor on fire was great, especially when he had a musical partner (Cyllene) who was just as eager to Burn Everything as he was. With the encouragement, he broke into the full song rather than just humming. Sure, it was probably a little sociopathic, and sure, there were agents on the first floor who probably wouldn't be enjoying the heat - including Avalon, who he'd obviously rather see get out - but he was having way too much fun to care all that much.
"Writers keep writing what they write, somewhere another pretty vein just," he kicked over another can, "died!"
Suddenly,t here was a roar that could not have come from them, and the fire started spreading far faster than it should have been. Between incoming Order, growing fires, and their orders to get the hell out, he was well and prepared to do so.
"Hey," he grabbed the corrupted Super's shoulder, "not for nothing but I really do think we sohuld listen to the General and book it out of here." Even if staying and watching Order burn and choke on smoke sounded like a really good time.
