Qyp Take over... I am lost. The initiative thing seems to have mucked up that grapple, I don't know if it's held or not... I don't know what to do here... Sneak attack gives you a suprise round. An additional action before combat breaks out. The grapple was rolled in the garbage rolll bin and is still held. Yes there is an element of unfairness because the puma gets a total of 4 actions and Fudou can only react to 2, but such is his advantage for not being detected.

I'll keep the block grapple thing in mind for next time.... xd
Yes, the current state of affairs is that the puma has Fudou in a grapple. So just roll damage and do your next actions! Remember that your claws count as dual wielding!
(But also remember that your actions are restricted when you're holding someone in a grapple)

I'm trying to make a low level zone (1-5) on the theme of "the bad neighberhood". Ideas I have for encounters so far are local thugs, stray dogs, and giant rats. Any other ideas?

Quote: *Immediately following a successful grapple attack and at the beginning of any round that the hold is maintained, user and defender must roll a Grapple check of d20 + Strength Modifier + 2 per 10 in Taijutsu to see if the grapple is maintained or broken (higher score wins). *While grappled, victim rolls a free grapple check (d20 + Strength Modifier + 2 per 10 in Taijutsu) per round against the grappler's grapple check to attempt to break free from the hold, and may use their attack turns to attempt Escape Artist checks against the Grapple check to break free. Erm. So does this mean the grappled person gets 2 or 1 free checks to escape? Or does the 'free grapple check' in the second point mean "free self from grapple check"... and in that case, how does that differ from the Escape Artist checks considering that they have the same stats added onto the roll sweatdrop Just checking so I can figure out how many rolls I can throw at the puma to try to break the hold cool @Hiru: I think you could divide it into the big-name thugs (like adults, muggers and stuff) and the small kid bullies? Otherwise I'm out of ideas for the time being...

You get one "counter grapple" check free at the beginning of your turn, sort of like to wrestle away from it. If it fails, you can use your attack mturns either to perform one handed or short weapon attacks or to wriggle away by attempting escape artist checks.
Good idea for the thugs! I'll look into that.
