The lightning struck Fois, but... it didn't hurt? Weird. At least is knocked him out of his confusion.
"Shake it off, buddy! Use Hypnosis!"

Hematite felt a faint dizziness, but easily shook it off. Was that supposed to be an attack? She grinned and called down more lightning.

Fois braced himself for the attack. When the lightning struck, the Hoothoot only got a few ruffled feathers. That's it? He could hear Valarie giggle in the background as the static made his feathers puff out more. Any more electricity and he'll just be a walking puff-ball!
Whatever. Fois stared at the Haunter again.

Hematite grew even more dizzy, but a quick shake of her head dispelled it. Her attack had hit, right? It didn't seem to do much. Still, she tried it again.

Fois quickly took off and hid among the branches of the trees when he predicted his opponent's next move. From his spot in the trees, his eyes gave off a slight glow. He didn't quite understand why nothing is happening to that Haunter.

Hematite felt nothing at all this time, and she couldn't spot her opponent, either. She floated around, phasing through trees and trying to find the Hoothoot. Eventually she gave up and just used Ominous Wind to fill the area with a gust of creepy wind, trying to at least blow aside the leaves and reveal her opponent.
Lyle though his pokemon was being rather silly. She ought to know that would be ineffective. But maybe she was having fun. He sat down, figuring this could take a while. Spinel figured the same and hopped of Lyle's head, then scurried off somewhere.

Fois allowed a small chuckle to escape and flew off to another tree. He watched the Haunter again with glowing eyes as he slowly concealed himself within the branches.

The wind didn't reveal the Hoothoot, but neither did Hematite feel any kind of attack come her way. Was her opponent just running away? She turned up the wind, trying to blow the bird out of hiding.

Fois strengthen his grip onto his branch. He warily kept a glowing eye out for the Haunter from his spot behind the leaves.
Valarie scratched her head in thought. She wondered where her Hoothoot flew off now.
Wait.
Why did everything get so quiet now? Creepy. She shivered a bit.

Hematite was struck with a sudden wave of dizziness and reeled. Still, she knew the Hoothoot was out there somewhere, She spun around, managed to spot the glowing eye peeking out, and cackled. Then she sent another lighting bolt lancing down at that spot.
