Salem had managed to land the chair shot he'd aimed at Hiro's skull, but it was a hollow victory as the pop from the audience was stifled by a gasp - jaws dropping around the arena as "The Copperhead" had his smacked shut with an upward swing from the challenger at the last moment! Eating a chin-full of chair, Salem's head snapped back, whipping his black locks up as he stumbled like a drunk backward into the fans. His eyes were rolling, equilibrium on the fritz after suffering another uppercut right on the button. His grip faded with his balance, one hand letting go of his chair before the other followed suit, dropping the weapon to the concrete with a clattering sound. A couple seconds after having been struck in the face, Salem's feet would slip and give way under his weight, falling back onto a group of people who braced him from hitting the floor too hard.

Hiro dropped off to the side, his chair falling on the crowd side of barricade. The Most Hated Man in Wrestling History rubbed the side of his head, slowly banging his foot on the ground. He looked up at the light, his eyes glazed over as caught on camera. Hiro seemed to be in a serious daze, coughing up a little blood now. Coughing, a tooth flies out! It's a molar from the back of Hiro's mouth! The Challenger looks at this and drops his back down, away from the look. The pain seemed numbed for some reason due to pounding pain in Hiro's head, not something he wanted to to be going through right now when he wanted to win.

Being that there were no count-outs, the referee could do little more than stand inside the squared circle and watch from afar, hoping that someone would get up and put and end to this calamity soon. Hiro's dentist was watching with glee, but the champion's fans were concerned, many gathered around Salem as he lay limp and aching on the cold concrete of the ringside audience floor. His head was throbbing, pounding to the vengeful drum of his ears which struggled to interpret the many cheers of support being cast out from around the stadium. Opening his eyelids, the rolling whites that lay behind them started to stop spinning, the BBW World Champion facing the sky with a blank-eyed stare.

But "The Copperhead" blinked from the rousing nudges of those fans he'd almost taken down in his fall, causing Croft's limbs to twitch and jerk lightly as he started to rouse back into consciousness. As though tugged to the shores of clarity from the stormy seas of distress, Salem's vision and hearing began to sharpen, the messy colors and blurry lines clearing up all around him. Seeing a chair emptied by an eager fan, Salem reached up and placed a hand on the seat, stoking the fans' enthusiasm that he'd soon be getting back up!

Hiro was breathing heavily, still laying there on the padded concrete as he spat out a little more blood, the fans in the front row that weren't bowling with Salem mocking him. The challenger began to work his way back up at the same time as Salem, but dropped right back down on to his stomach. After a few more moments of not moving much, Hiro turned on to his back, right on top of the blood and tooth he spat out. The lights really did seem to blind him a little, and Hiro's glazed off, defeated look could easily be seen. The fans laughed and mocked Hiro, his defenders in the crowd trying to shut them up. The challenger had a war waging in his mind, and things were slowly slipping completely out of his grasp!

There was little sympathy for the devil, it seemed, as the refutes of Hiro's few remaining confident fans were being deafeningly overwhelmed by the growing congregation that encouraged the defending champion, who was starting to pull himself up to his feet by the chair abandoned nearby where he'd fallen. Pulling his shoulders up to the seat, Salem reached into his hip pocket and felt around, as though trying to make sure he hadn't lost his keys or the like during that spill he'd taken. He then reached up with the same hand and checked his mouth, reaching inside to test the looseness of his own pearly whites while his remaining arm kept him propped up off the floor.

Though he probably needed to floss more, Salem's mouth was otherwise fine, though the impact had helped reopen the cut inside his lip that was now bleeding once more to the touch. Pushing off from the chair, "The Copperhead" took what felt like his first-ever steps on two legs as he tried standing once more, much to the crowd's delight. Still uncoordinated and off-balance, the champ wobbled towards the barricade, using it as a crutch so he could walk towards the section Hiro was currently lying next to, looking over the rail with ill-intent for his adversary. Both hands on the barricade, Salem would spring off his feet and tumble forward, looking to somersault down onto Hiro with a senton!

Hiro began to close his eyes a bit, the somewhat warm breeze really tiring him as his body continued to shut down from the blood loss, pain, and all else. His mind was completely shot, his brain scattered by the chair shot and his own inner psyche doing battle. However, his eyes shot back open as the crowd began to roar. The Embodiment of Hate darted his eyes over to the see-through barrier, and saw Salem walking about it, heading his way. Concerned, Hiro slowly started to get up, but he knew he wouldn't have time. Falling back on to his back, he tried to look as weak as he could, and as Salem somersaulted over the barrier, Hiro rolled out of the way, forcing the Champion to land on the padded concrete! The challenger was alive!

No! While many in the audience shouted this aloud, Salem could only think on the error of his ways as he fell haphazardly over the barricade, landing back-first onto the padded concrete around the ring! His legs stiffened when his shoulders struck the ground, causing Salem to sit up as the momentum transferred through his body with the rigid landing. Gasping for breath, the champion let out a squawk of agony, reaching behind himself to grip hold of his spine while the whites of his eyes bulged in their sockets. Falling over onto his side, Salem kicked his feet a bit and winced, slapping a hand onto the mat beneath him while riding out the aftershocks of his failed dive.

Hiro's rolling out of the way worked as great momentum to roll to his knees. As Salem sold the effects of his failed move, the challenger was able to stand straight back up and stumble back, hitting the apron but using to remain on his feet. He looked around at the crowd, his freshly-stained bloody teeth revealing themselves once more. A smile overcame the Hated man as he reached down into his boot, and from it...revealed a switchblade. A very familiar style, the butterfly blade. Hiro opened up and waved it around a bit, laughing just a little. The crowd was in shock and extremely worried for the champion, some women screaming and children running off. Men of course were cheering their asses off, some chanting "This is Awesome". Hiro got very close to Salem before dropping to his knees next to the champion...and attempting to drive the blade down into his back, not very deep by any means, but enough to break skin. The whole park EXPLODED with sound, the warm breeze picking up even more, it looked like just maybe, rain clouds were drifting in.

If the first slice was successful, Hiro would aim to stab the champion again, attempting to leave him with another slight gash, and if THAT worked, the Embodiment of Hatred would go for one last stab, hoping to completely debilitate Salem Croft! He was cutting open the Copperhead!

One thing learned from being around a large crowd is that they often lack subtlety. This was a lesson Salem was presently taking part in, as he was helplessly unaware of what Hiro had in store as the challenger whipped out his switchblade and brandished it for the world to see. Though so many were trying to warn him, "The Copperhead" couldn't focus on their conglomerate of voices, distracted by the swelling pain in his back before he could realize his former friend was already upon him. Salem was expecting to be jerked up to his feet, or stomped on for good measure, but the stinging of a blade sinking into his back made the champion squirm and scream, blood spewing from the wound as another mark was made in a similar suit. On his stomach, Salem balled up a fist and beat it to the mat while he bled, pinned and helpless to prevent being flayed open like a fresh kill by a hungry hunter!

There's one thing anyone looking back on this match in the future couldn't say: That they've ever seen Hiro do anything quite like this. The guy was a much better heel than he was a face, that was for sure...but not a single person had ever seen such intensity from a man who made more of a career out of taking severe pain than dishing it out. Hiro ripped the blade out of Salem's back for the final time, and stood back up. He literally backstabbed a man he considered a brother, and a man who looked up to him.

Slipping the blade back down into his boot, the huffing and puffing Hiro, who was still spitting out blood, looked to take a handful of Salem's hair and bring him up into Hiro's clutches. If he could, Hiro would pick him up, and attempt to bodyslam him straight back down onto the floor!

Salem's center of gravity was thrown for a loop as the champion felt himself being hoisted up by the hair and heaved up into the air above Hiro, still reeling from having his skin sliced open after his botched try of taking advantage of opportunity. Now, it seemed the pendulum of momentum had swung the challenger's way with full-force, which was a good way to describe the impact of Salem's body hitting the thinly veiled cement. With a stinging 'clap' brought on from the slimy sweat sticking to "The Copperhead" as he hit the ground, every bone and joint in Croft's body became sore in one instant, leaving the champ to writhe and groan from Hiro's feet. From the nervous and anxious expressions all around the arena, fans were sharing the concerns Salem now had about surviving this match!

Hiro delivered a stunning bodyslam, and the clapping sound that was made was music to his ears. Blood and sweat mixing to practically stick Salem to the ground might have grossed some people out, but it made Hiro laugh out loud! The challenger seriously was off his rocker tonight when it came to being sadistic. Something indeed changed in Hiro tonight, and while many people might have been almost SCARED of this change, it was something the Embodiment of Hatred was definitely embracing. The challenger reached back down in an attempt bring Salem back up into his grasp. If successful, Hiro would pick up the champion and set him up for what looked like a powerslam, but however would merely be the way Hiro held him as he ran at the ring post and attempted to slam him into it back first!

Coughing for breath following the body slam, Salem struggled to keep wind in his lungs and hold on as Hiro continued the onslaught, firmly in control of the situation at hand. Meanwhile, "The Copperhead" was visibly fatigued, his limbs lethargic to move and defend against Hiro hoisting him up once again, surely not to carry him to a nice, soft bed. Like he was playing "Ship's Mast", Salem was driven into the steel ring post by his already wounded back, further aggravating the spinal damage that was plaguing his movement at present. Wide-eyed, Salem gasped at the audience from over Hiro's shoulder, an audible "Oooh!" of disappointment heard from the crowd as steam was quickly draining out of the champion's locomotive.

Hiro would have dropped Salem completely into the ground, but he was by no means done. Hiro had a third wind in him, every time momentum shifted back to him, he found the ability to keep fighting because he knew all wasn't lost. He did drop Salem to his feet, but had to help keep the champion standing. Bringing his arm over Hiro's neck, the number one contender took a hold of Salem's leg and attempted to bring him up, and plant him down into the ground with a picture-perfect Perfect-Plex!

Salem was in dire straits, unable to even keep his feet planted to the ground when Hiro tried to set him down following the ring post ramming the champ had taken. It didn't take a psychologist to wonder what was on his mind as Salem stood woozy and disoriented, once again biting at his busted open lip out of habit to stifle the stinging pain assaulting his spine, his bones, his very nerves from head to toe. But before the champ could reach over for the ring post to balance himself, Hiro was hooking his leg and heaving him up once again, this time tossing "The Copperhead" across the outside to tumble hard against the padded floor. This last attack looked especially nasty, as Salem's fingers merely twitched in response, his legs not even bothering to move or straighten out from how they'd landed. Too tired to even sit up, a hush fell across the venue as fans' hearts began to sink, fearing that "The Copperhead" might be broken after the savage treatment he'd just been forced to suffer through.
