The Norwegian forest cat stopped, looking embarrassingly plump with half of a cookie between her teeth and she scanned the officer and cracked senshi with measured caution.
Mostly because she hadn't expected her offer to be taken as being ferried to mirrorspace. She had safe havens in mind, escapes foiled, but for some reason hadn't quite thought about the ultimate safe haven of the DMC. She had really just been making a joke.
"That's... a good question," She said finally after she had managed all the baked goods in her wake down her gullet and started padding around nearer to them, unable to keep still.
"The last time I was in mirrorspace, Ares was still around, and she was immediately alerted to my presence. However, I don't think the others were ever aware I was there or that I pass through on a regular basis. Ares has moved on to greener pastures, but they have new royalty. I'm not sure if they have the same connection, though, since they are created parasites in her image and not truly living beings."
Mostly she was just staring at the figure beside Alkaid and trying to cope with the thought of having to physically carry him into mirrorspace.
"Keep in mind I have to drag you, though," She shifted back to a catwoman to pose with her wrists on either side of her head, "I'm too delicate to take a group!"

Ganymede might have been right, on some level. Europa was talking big game partly because if she didn't, she was fully aware she ran the risk of chickening out at any second, and the shame of that would be too much to bear. Additionally, she knew that logically this was the only option, even if her silly, idealistic side fervently wished that there was some other way. She was glad for the support, and the hand under the table - it was good to know that even if Ganymede didn't agree with her, she still had her support.
"Believe me," she whispered. "I think about those things every day." But the time for intervention had been years ago, before Leto ever corrupted, when Europa still had the chance to steer her to a better peer group. One that didn't flirt more than casually with darkness.
She squeezed Ganymede's hand.
The news about Ares being gone was, well, news. But Europa supposed that much could happen when you took a year and a half of personal leave. The war didn't just freeze because she wasn't an active participant for all that time. "What can you tell us about the new royalty?" she asked Zirconia. "Who are the strongest among them? Their movers and shakers? What should be be prepared to face?"
Sessrumnir glanced casually over the flower covered senshi for only a moment, before his eyes landed on Zirconia. He’d given her a rough time when she wanted information from him, and he was fairly certain he hadn’t left her entirely satisfied with their last run in, but the ease of how she spoke about this other universe and the DMC reminded him that he still didn’t trust her in the slightest.
“I’m sorry, and where are you from again…?” he addressed to her in a low voice. He wasn’t out for blood. Not then at least. But it was amazing how easily these senshi and knights and Negaverse officers decided this cat woman was so trustworthy when her aura was so obviously different from the rest of theirs.
Or maybe they were so caught up with everything else that they didn’t notice.
Azure blue eyes narrowed on Bischofite when he leaned in close to Ganymede, but his small smirk remained throughout the officer’s reply. “The problem is… you need us. Senshi and knights. If it weren’t for us here, do you even think you’d have enough to fight them? You can’t afford for us not to help you.”
Of course then the caped man everyone called “WP” spoke, and Zirconia described the one she wanted saved… and Sessrumnir’s eyes narrowed more. It was convenient for her to be able to choose who lived and who died.
The aura of chaos was making his stomach churn. He couldn’t stand it and he couldn’t wait to get out of there. But everything the others were saying, even if it wasn’t in response to him, was information to think about. How Zirconia spoke freely of her mirror walking abilities, and how others reacted to each other…
If they did manage to eradicate the DMC, there was still a lot he was learning. He’d go along with it for now at least.
“It could always be you,” Sessrumnir said in response to the young Earth knight’s comment about bait, although his stomach twisted uncomfortably as he said it, regretting his inability to not be facetious about the safety of others he actually wanted to survive. “I mean, isn’t Leto a known knight killer?”

In his opinion, Labyrinthite viewed the DMC worse off than the WMC if only because Ares had abandoned her subjects while the moon princess simply hadn't shown. He didn't count Chibimoon. What he had been unaware of was the fact that new royalty had stepped up in the smoke senshi's place. His teeth gritted together and his fingers curled his hand into fists as he stood. He didn't know who claimed the title of prince or princess in the DMC but he had an idea.
Likely the co-captains.
The thought of them made his mouth taste sour.
He didn't like that Zirconia had left out this information. Royals had devastating amounts of power to them, he'd tussled with one princess more times than he would've liked. But the cat had said royals that meant more than one and it was enough information to churn his stomach.
He'd fought above his weight-class before and was confident he could do it again but he knew he couldn't take more than one. If he could take the one. An eternal would be no matter, prince or princess was a different matter entirely. Even if he couldn't, he'd be damned if he didn't try.
"There's more than one," the comment came out dryly, a clear statement rather than a question and his face turned towards Eurpoa as she spoke. She voiced the question he wanted to ask. "Do you have an idea of how many there are?" The game of war always dealt heavy with numbers.
He moved toward Zirconia brushing past Alkaid without thought or glance. "Could we test it? You taking me into mirrorspace?" He asked. "Do you think she was alerted because she was familiar with your energy signal? Because you used to be the same type of 'parallel?"

One would have thought it'd be impossible not to be caught up and swept away with the tense atmosphere lingering around them, fueled by their shared hatred and disgust, and yet, apparently Buddingtonite played the part of the oblivious fool. He lingered around the table, sampling the cookies with Turquoise, someone he knew to be an excellent chef and could probably outcook whoever provided their refreshments. He kept close to Turquoise as talks continued to escalate, as the situation started getting more and more serious. Talks of cancer, death, invaders entered his ears and did linger in his mind, though on the outside, he seemed more perplexed about what flavor was tickling his tongue.
"Hmmm, this could use some cinnamon. Or maybe molassas. It's missing something," He said to Turquoise, not speaking too loudly as to not interrupt important battle talk. He felt bad that he wasn't as invested as the rest there and he was certain that if someone discovered his reasoning, he'd be called out and even kicked out of the 'kill those dirty Mirror witches' fanclub, but he had a duty to fulfill to his friend. Serpentine would have expected nothing less from him! Though, all this talk of killing and dying and consequences was really starting to drag him down... "Hm, speaking of maiming, I'll want you to stick close to me in this fight, dear Turquoise. I'd be extremely upset if something were to happen to you and I wasn't there to stop it."
Not that he belittled any of those there. He knew that their hatred ran deep and from what he took in, each and every one of them had justification for their deep rooted disgust. He appeared to not care, but at the same time, he couldn't blame tempers for flaring, either. He simply wouldn't throw fuel into the fire by bringing up unsavory objections or matters of hypocrisy among the ranks. If Zirconia felt that her own kind were parasites and needed to be eradicated, than who was Buddingtonite to say otherwise?
He caught the gaze of the garden senshi and more or less ducked behind Turquoise, hoping it wasn't too obvious that he was trying to avoid eye contact but certain about not wanting to be seen. Thus far, he remained civil and no weapons were drawn, yet, and Buddingtonite was eager to keep it that way. It wasn't until he heard Europa's question about the royalty that he shifted from behind the lieutenant, finally speaking up and pretending he was an active part of the conversation the entire time. "I've met Prince Remarque recently. Though I was not in the best of conditions, I do recall him being extremely powerful, but he posed no threat to either myself or Serpentine at the time. Smooth talker, that one. No doubt he's more of the 'talk my way out of trouble' kind of guy..."
Which now made him wonder... if he should have mentioned being on good terms with the guy. Given the amount of hatred and disgust towards the group, he decided against it. That's one sure-fire way of being kicked out of this mob, for sure!

"Remarque's a busy little bee. I don't know how many of them there are, I know Leto's his co-captain," The guardian said with a shrug to Europa. "But I also know Leto's a brawler and a knight killer. Remarque's a liar and a corrupter. I would peg him as the more dangerous of the two. I know a senshi named Avior was seeking him out for corruption."
It didn't need repeating that she thought one who could draw out loyalty strong enough to make someone throw their life away was more dangerous than someone who was just out for blood.
"I've heard of him swaying senshi towards corruption, awakening, forcing upgrades on dissenting members. He keeps the war machine well oiled. There's another violent one with a blonde mohawk that's a decent fighter with offensive magic and a taste for knight blood; She should probably be eliminated as soon as possible if sighted but the last time I saw her she was only at super stage. Since their corruption has the potential to kill me I try not to engage in direct battle with them, and their politics are simplistic in nature. They were created for tea parties so Ares didn't have to feel alone, not full scale invasions. That is simply a side effect from having no home."
She looked to Sessrumnir and gave him an absolutely saccharine smile. "Where am I from? Well, I, Zirconia, am from the other side of the mirror. Obviously. I was guardian to Ares' queen, and Ares herself. Unless you mean where is this body from; I'm pretty sure this girl I stole was a Destiny City native, but whatever."
Man it felt weird s**t talking Zia, who was herself, really. But all of the deep issues that spoke to could be sorted out later.
The point was she wasn't going to hide her origins or her nature. If anything she felt like they gave her information more credibility.
"If it helps I want them as gone as you would want zombie versions of your own species gone and I can promise you my motivations for helping are entirely selfish," She cooed at him with patronizing mock affection and a blown kiss.
His distrust was a sign of intelligence, but she was still going to give him a hard time for it. She even chastised his quip to poor Falias. "Oh leave him alone," Because he's not in my index yet. It was hard to put the index aside when there were so many undocumented knights and Negas in the room she was getting goosebumps just thinking of all the information going unrecorded for politics.
She specifically hesitated and left Labyrinthite for last and looked at him with a taught grimace on her features as she recalled the exhaustion from pulling Camelot through, and the though of having to not just pull his body through, but linger in the space between with him.
"Possibly. I've had to walk through since then for mirrorwalking but only in quick instances. But most of them don't seem to even be aware I exist. I'm not entirely sure, because i haven't lingered there since her corruption."
She looked him up and down, obviously uncertain as her tail flicked back and forth in thought.
"We... could..."

He really wanted to ask Penthesilea what she liked about the cookies, but he was stuck addressing current concerns. He only smiled at her, hoping she would take some home. Why? Because he spent a evening making them and had hoped more people would enjoy them. He felt that cookies were just the sort of thing that calmed nerves and lifted the spirits. At least everyone wasn't arguing as much anymore.
"I'd like a small team with me and for Europa to watch over the main group. One, maybe two members. I'll take volunteers for this mission out, but I don't want us splitting up aside from this one instance where I will lead them the hostage here and wait. If it was just me, they wouldn't call for much backup, but more than one would get their attention. I think two volunteers would do the trick."
He also had heard talk of mirror walking and needed to cut that idea down for now. "Mirror walking is a idea for later. I don't want anyone running into any mirrors. I'm not doubting your abilities Zirconia, but you don't sound like you have done this before. In the heat of battle, it could be taxing and you could become their hostage in a world where no one here can reach you. That is the last thing you want. Being a DMC hostage will make you beg for death and know you will never get it. I don't want anyone to go to someplace they cannot be rescued or lost forever. You also don't know that walking into mirror space would put your own soul in jeopardy and wind you leaving the world as another person. Entering that world means they have the upper hand. Not you. If you want to explore this later, you can do that on your own time after the battle."
He worried for those wanting to just test out an idea that seemed absolutely dangerous and suicidal to him.
"I'll take volunteers and answer any further concerns. Chaos Officers, I want to speak with you briefly before you leave." He said, looking to his left where Bischonite was sitting and then to the rest gathered.

The jarringly familiar tongues in which Thraen spoke received a nod from the black-haired general, emphatic enough to coax a chime out of his earrings. Gold eyes focused between WP and Zirconia as the two exchanged necessary information to the gathering present. Inwardly he wondered if such a plan would succeed - from his experience, convoluting instructions given to a mass often led to disaster: the simpler the better. However, WP appeared quite confident in his tactics, and if they resulted in utter chaos... Well, Bischofite would have his rancor in spades.
To hide in the rafters and await the filtered arrival of the Dark Mirror... And then what? Shatter their sole exit and slaughter them wholesale? Bischofite himself preferred rigging the majority of the warehouse with enough explosives to bring the roof atop the petulant wretches, but such tactics involved intimate knowledge of demolitions - something he wagered no one present possessed. No matter; what came of such measures was absolution, and the feathered general accepted this strange invitation for the cacophony resulting from half-measures, not the silence given my corpses abound.
To simply strand themselves in this paltry housing as a means to fight some carefully contained battle... How meek.
"Sraen will go," Bischofite offered as soon as WP requested hostages. Of the White Moon present, the blonde proved most capable of death among their ranks - and thusly capable of Machiavellian tactics. "He has ze stomach for such deeds, more zan ze whole of ze White Moon present." As he spoke, the general offered a sweeping gesture to the remaining senshi, most bearing wings at equal rank. Lastly his eyes settled on Ganymede, whom appeared utterly revolted by his presence.
Good. Let her suffer.

"Oh darn," Zirconia laughed, giving Labyrinthite an overly friendly knock on the arm. "Foiled. We can experiment later, I promise. Assuming we both still live. I enjoy commiserating with the Negaverse outside of joint operations as well."
She hadn't meant her quip about chasing people through mirrors to be taken as an invitation to mirrorspace, and she was glad she wasn't going to have to make good on that promise. Not right now, at least, but time meant wiggle room for attempting to weasel out of such things.
It was time to proceed anyway, and WP was asking for volunteers. Notably, she kept her arms folded behind her back and stayed quiet.
She had told WP right off the bat she would offer him no combat value, and from that she saw 'hostage' as 'suicide mission'. She saw nothing cowardly or distasteful in staying quiet. It was only honest.

"How rude," Alkaid had simply quipped back at the stubborn Captain, though seemed rather unaffected despite it. She'd known his feelings.
Instead her eyes drifted down to the giant cat as the conversation struck up around her. She stared back at it for a moment before she raised one delicate brow, obviously confused about this reaction. It certainly wasn't horror or sympathy. It was actually kind of confusing. As the Captain at her side stood and walked towards Zirconia, she leaned down and pulled the over-sized cat up into her lap. She wasn't sure what was going on with him, but her adoration of Hiro made her feel inclined to take pick him up (just in case he'd had a seizure).
She ran hardened fingers through his fur with a surprising delicacy, then let her gaze slide back up to the conversation at hand. Royalty, mirrors and hostages. If she'd still had properly functioning organs, her stomach would have rolled at the familiarity of the idea. The past always seemed to repeat itself, especially the violent parts.
"I could come with you, my basic attack can hypnotize quite well. I'm also quite shocking, if that kind of flair is the thing you're going for." She paused here, rethinking her words with a small purse of her lips. It made the cracks on her face widen just a fraction, shifting the planes of her cheeks at unsettling angles. "Of course, it depends on how much surprise you want to have behind this. Are you going to show up with all members of one faction to steal the hostage, or a mix? Do you want them to know just how much power you have, or surprise them?"
She smiled then and glanced back down at her newly acquired fluffball. "It's a tricky question."

For the most part. Lellouch had stayed quiet. Doing nothing more then growl, glare, stick to her corner and listen. Sure, she had stopped and stared, probably lost a few shades of color to her skin when Alkaid walked in, and note to self- find out what was up with that. But she did little more then that. She sat mostly, wondering if this would work. What would happen if it did, well aside from the obvious of course. How many would they get? How many would get away? Would he get away? Would he even be there to begin with? Lellouch frowned as she mulled things over before something clicked with her.
Of course. Of course he would. And she knew how.
"...How do you feel about bait WP?" The blonde corrupt said suddenly, breaking her silence as she stood and made her way over to the gathering. "What if I could get one to essentially come to you? I could lure him where ever you want easily." She paid no mind to anyone else, just stared ahead at the masked General. "...We're... close, so to speak. He'll come if I call him. It's not much but..." Lellouch shrugged. "It's something."

LOOK LOOK I DID THE THING

Lellouch provided a welcome distraction from Alkaid, whom Pen was actually fairly certain she might have nightmares about. The redhead crossed her legs, hands resting on her thighs, and leaned forward. She was fairly certain she knew exactly who the blonde corrupt spoke of, and if so...well.
"I think I know who she's referrin' to, and if I'm right, he comes in a pair with another one of them parasites. Sort of a two-for-one deal - either an extra hostage or someone who'll get out and bring more back." She volunteered, and she was fairly confident she was correct. Her relationship, whatever it was, with Damocles was the reason she'd left Lellouch alive, after all.
It was remarkable, really, that after everything just thinking about the Dark Mirror no longer caused a well of hatred to coil in her gut. She'd taken her revenge, and she was mostly done with this little vendetta. "Either way, dependin' on how many you need and what you're lookin' for, I wouldn't mind bein' on the ambush team."

general apology for my inconsistency in typing out pen's accent
Lieutenant Galvatronite held his tongue, even when the knights words cut deep. It was hard to maintain his composure, as he was certain that anyone around him could see the way his jaw tightened, but somehow he kept all of his anger within. And with the White Phoenix and Zirconia pushing the meeting through, it was easy to forget those insulting words and focus on the real issue.
Everything Zirconia warned him about only acted to strengthen his resolve against the parasitic invaders, and the moment WP requested volunteers, he rose his voice, hoping to catch his attention so that he would not be overlooked. "I volunteer! I may not have much, but I will give my life for you and the Negaverse, if it meant to rid ourselves of these body snatchers!"
MoonKitsune
Buddingtonite was maybe on his third or fourth Caprisun when WP asked for volunteers, and just like that, the rose-clad general was quick to silence himself once more, hoping to once again blend into the background so that none would think to throw him in there.
He was here for support, yes, but the idea of acting as bait or the vanguard of this operation? Especially with the threat of possible death and suicidal nutjobs like that Galvatrawhateverhisfaceisite practically throwing themselves into the slaughter, Buddingtonite had little desire to throw his name into the hat. And the way he looked at Turquoise and mouthed 'don't you dare' made it clear that he did not wish for her to speak up as well. She was welcomed to, but he would do his absolute best to persuade her not to.
"Baiting them sounds like a wonderful idea," Buddingtonite added his input before grabbing a few more cookies and wrapping them in napkins, preparing to take some on the road. "Give them the element of surprise. I'm sure the look on their faces will be worth the trouble when they see their 'friends' turn on them. We can all yell 'SURPRISE' too."
He considered those that had already volunteered and mulled it over for a bit. Not being part of this surprise ambush may have been playing on the safe side, but it wouldn't have been fun. "I'll go. Just if I die, someone better tell Serpentine to avenge me. Or should I leave that task for you, Turquoise?"

"If that's what's needed, if that's where people think I'll fit best then sure I have no problems playing the lure to draw a Dark Mirror person" Falias said calmly in response to the The Jupiter knight's (Sessrumnir) quip that he could be the one to volunteer. As a Page he had no magic and weapon-wise, his 'weapon' if you could call it that was useless so if that made him the ideal choice to be the lure then so be it, otherwise he was happy enough to sit on the ambush team.
He hadn't actually known that this Leto was a known Knight-killer, his experience with the DMC limited to his one encounter with Al-Janah - but he'd just known that the red-haired dark senshi couldn't have been the only out there from the court attacking knights and the Jupiter knight had just confirmed it.
As did the one who had turned up as a talking cat before shifting into a cat-woman and then back again who had identified herself as Zirconia and had an aura that he'd not come across before. He'd noted that Zirconia seemed to have a lot of information on the DMC and that there seemed to be at least three members out for Knight blood and given that one of the three seemed to be one of the leaders for the whole group Falias was certain that there was more - most likely a whole organisation full.
It seemed that he wasn't the only one willing to volunteer though. others also volunteering or as in one case - the case of the blond super senshi - was volunteered.
