Jo℘εη ℑη∂igo-ℒizard oḟ ℭobaℓt ◅ ◅ ◅ ☾☫☽ ▻ ▻ ▻ He spoke to her, and that was a start. She smiled to herself.
"I haven't spoken to a vampire since the days of Elizabeth Bathory, so your kind is still pretty foreign to me,"
Jopen said casually. She really didn't want to get into any details about that. . .interesting experience, to say in the least. It also happened to be when she met Lavinia, before she was Mabel walker. Jo had saved her life from the bloodthirsty countess/
"I didn't know vampires could even have children. I guess you learn something new every day,"
Jo mused. She raised her hand to the ruby that held her top shut at her neck and rubbed it thoughtfully. She felt bad that the vampire couldn't ever feel the cool caress of water or the light of the sun. Then it dawned on her she didn't even introduce herself. Jo decided to introduce herself in a moment, she didn't want to say too much at a time, just in case.

Imhotep wasn't surprised. Most people thought that it was impossible. He knew better since his daughter looked just like him. The man let out a chuckle to show he was listening. "It's rare." He answered the woman. "very rare." The vampire had been with many women and none of them gave him a child as far as he knew. Basima was his first and only child.

Jo℘εη ℑη∂igo-ℒizard oḟ ℭobaℓt ◅ ◅ ◅ ☾☫☽ ▻ ▻ ▻ "Yeah, I can't have children, it's impossible. The elders sterilized me before I left my old home and prison. And as far as I know, my human form can't produce children,"
Jopen said sadly while she watched the happy-go-lucky teenager romp in the water. There were times she had desperately wanted a little punk of her own, when she was in love, but the thought of losing that child would be devastating. The bad outweighed the good, in her opinion. Jo gazed at the vampire out of the corner of her eye when she thought he wouldn't notice, admiring him. So this was the guy she was going to be with the rest of her life, but hey, she wasn't complaining! She barely repressed an amused snort, which tended to be very unattractive. Jo turned to him and said,
"I apologize for not introducing myself sooner, I didn't really expect a conversation. But I'm Jopen Indigo-Lizard of Cobalt, exiled--excuse me, nobly dismissed--daughter of Knabqam Indigo-Lizard and her mate Jioxom the Cobalt. Oh, and I'm a dragonkin, who can kind of change between my Huplan and Wraynx Aqecks, which is old serpent tongue for human and dragon forms."

Imhotep didn't care about her own business. She indeed was some sappy immortal. He decided to keep his eyes on his daughter. The woman then introduced herself as some noble woman which he again didn't care about. He at least would at least humor her a bit. "Imhotep, Vampire Lord, God of medicine and healing, first known architect in the world. Creator of the step pyramid of Djoser." He introduced himself.

Jo℘εη ℑη∂igo-ℒizard oḟ ℭobaℓt ◅ ◅ ◅ ☾☫☽ ▻ ▻ ▻ Jo could tell the man was getting impatient. When he introduced himself as Imhotep, she could tell he was annoyed and didn't really care what she had to say. Jopen was interested by who he was, though. She had heard many stories about him from some Greek followers of Hippocrates, and later, Roman medics. But she wasn't about to act like she cared.
"A pleasure to meet you. I've heard little snippets about you here and there. But I do believe I have overstayed my welcome, considering I ran into you and began asking questions. Although I have one more: do you have any recommendations about lodging? I only arrived this morning, and I'd rather not live in the mountains like some sort of leper or criminal."
As she talked, Jo pulled her sleeves on and slid her feet into her boots gracefully after brushing the sand off them. While she waited for his response, she went from fixing the cuticles of her fingernails to playing with tiny forks of lightning that danced on her fingertips. It was a terrible habit of hers that typically frightened ignorant mortals, but she never really thought about what she was doing until afterwards.
angelmage99 Dodo me just realized I haven't been quoting you, and I'm sooo sorry! Lol, it's been a loooong week, especially since my prom is tomorrow.

Amityvillager It's fine. I hope you have fun at your prom. Imhotep was just about to answer when his daughter came out of the water from swimming and walked over to him. "Hi." She said to Jopen with a grin. "Dad who's your friend?" The girl asked before for her father to say goodbye. "No one." The man answered. The girl frowned and turned to Jopen. "I'm Basima. Dad said it means 'smiling' in Arabic." The girl commented before sitting down between Jopen and her father. "You're really beautiful." She commented, much to her father's unhappiness.

Jo℘εη ℑη∂igo-ℒizard oḟ ℭobaℓt ◅ ◅ ◅ ☾☫☽ ▻ ▻ ▻ The girl's timing was impeccable; Jo wondered how long this luck would last. The girl told her that her name was Basima, and then called her beautiful. Jopen smiled at the compliment and thanked her.
"Hello, I'm Jopen, but you can call me Jo if you want! And you're very pretty, too. A natural beauty! Your dad better watch out for the boys when you get older,"
she said with a wink and a grin. Then she remembered the shell she had stashed in her boot minutes ago. She reached inside and pulled it out, presenting it to Basima.
"Here, I found this shell after I clumsily bumped into your dad and I think you'd appreciate it more than I could. If you're ever away and you put the shell up to your ear, you can hear the ocean and the waves calling to you, wishing you back home,"
Jopen told her in storyteller voice. She smiled faintly, remembering her old homes over the centuries. She was a little jealous of the happy Basima, who had a loving father and a home. Jo was tramp, traveling from place to place until it was clear that it was time to move on. Anyone she had that was like family died. Jopen didn't really belong anywhere. She was exiled from her one true home because she was a feared rebel and anarchist. The dragonkin sighed wearily to herself.

Imhotep smirked. Considering his daughter got her look from him, he shall it as a compliment. "If they come near her, I'll I have to say is that I'll bite them, and they just run off." He told her with a grin. Basima took the shell and put it to her ear before listening. The girl smiled. "So cool." She told the woman. She turned to her with a smile. "Is there something I can do in exchange for the shell?" She asked.

Jo℘εη ℑη∂igo-ℒizard oḟ ℭobaℓt ◅ ◅ ◅ ☾☫☽ ▻ ▻ ▻ Imhotep joked to Jopen, and she laughed. She was sure he could just look at any boy who tried to pursue Basima and cause them to run home, tail between their legs. The girl took the shell from Jo and held it to her ear. When she asked her if she owed Jo anything, she crouched down and tilted her head slightly to the left with a smile.
"You don't owe me anything doll. It's a gift, from and old dragon to a young dhampir. I'm sure it's in good hands."
Then Jo thought for a moment and realized Imhotep never answered her question about lodging.
"Actually, I was just asking your dear old dad here where I could find somewhere to stay. Do you know any inns that would have me?"
she asked, putting her elbows on her knees and holding her chin in her small, delicate hands. A small hermit crab crawled by and she resisted the urge to grab it and race it to the water before a gull could snatch it away. Luckily for the little guy, the gulls all seemed to have gone elsewhere for some reason.

Imhotep pushed his hair back as the question came back up. "Don't sleep in any here at the board walk. They're full of prostitutes." A smile came to the girl's face. "You could stay with us. Your fee could be stories about the past." The girl seemed to pick up on her father's stories of the days of old."

Jo℘εη ℑη∂igo-ℒizard oḟ ℭobaℓt ◅ ◅ ◅ ☾☫☽ ▻ ▻ ▻ Imhotep offered to let Jo stay with them, and she smiled. She was thankful that she wouldn't have to sleep outside again, and excited she was finally drawing the old vampire out of his shell, if even a little. Jopen rose to her feet, careful not to kick sand anywhere, especially with Basima lounging on the ground next to her.
"Thank you so much, you have no idea how much your generosity means to me. And I'm full of stories, don't worry!"
The last part was directed at Basima, who Jo offered a hand in case she wanted to stand. She turned to Imhotep.
"I tell stories for the simple joy of it. I'm a renowned dancer in other parts of the world--I'm more of a myth now, really--and I used to be an acrobat in the circus. I could work somewhere. Not on the boardwalk of course!"
she laughed. The little lightning that danced around her fingertips were back in her excitement.

Imhotep stood and Basima did it with the help of Jopen. "I'm super excited." She said holding onto the ancients had as she dragged her back to their home. Imhotep followed behind them. He would take the woman in for the night, but tomorrow she better find her own place.

Alana heard a voice from behind her and turned her head. Since she was blind in one eye from her abusive father and wore an eyepatch to cover the silvery-grey color of it, she couldn't see who it was quite well. All she knew is that someone had lectured her on feeding the kitten. Frowning, she turned back to the kitten and scratched behind its ears. "I never turn my back on something helpless.." She replied bluntly. She felt the pitter patter of rain on her hands suddenly and scooped the kitten up into her arms, putting the purring feline inside her hoodie's front chest pocket. It was a tiny creature, obviously a stray runt from a litter who had been rejected. Alana knew the feeling of being rejected, so she figured she'd bring the little cat home. Who would stop her anyways? As she stood, she pulled her hood up over her head, her crimson uncovered eye noticed that it was a male who had lectured her. Her eye narrowed slightly in annoyance as she held the kitten against her body to keep it warm. "My name's Alana. Who are you?" She asked in her normal voice, although she still appeared a bit scary despite the kitten in her chest pocket.

Rengato ((Sorry for waiting so long, I've been busy with exams and scholarships.)) StealthNeko ((SNeko, just pm me when you get on about what you when Hei Ryung should come to work)) Hei Ryung Satoshi ONIHIME But it’s ok now...what are you worrying about... [Chorus]"Curry bread..." Ren whined, interrupting her question. She barely registered him. And--I know, I'm sorry it's inconvenient--I don't have a phone number for you to contact right now, so when can I come by for my first shift, and I've got your contacts on the flier, so---""Girl..." Ren said, persistent. He latched onto her sleeve and started tugging, fain little pulls on her T-shirt. "I'm hungry.... I'm really hungry... I need food." His stomach growled like a delirious beast, and his face grimaced in anguish. Hei Ryung exhaled through her nose and smiled at her roommate. She opened her mouth to tell him to wait, or go on his own, when she realized something. She was in total agreement. Her stomach warbled mutely and she blushed. "Okay, that doesn't sound like a bad idea." Hei Ryung grinned apologetically at Emilio. "I should go. I'll drop by the Water hole soon, though. Thank you for the job, sir. Ren! Lead the way!"Keep your grind on girl...it’s your love, it’s your world... [repeat 2x]

Stahl § Venerra "Come along with me, we'll fly between worlds, Through purple forests and frostbitten skies, Diving deep, we'll make these late nights memorable..." Stahl raised an eyebrow slightly when the woman's head turned, showing not a fraction of an eye, but part of an eyepatch. He wondered momentarily as to why it was there. Had she lost that eye? Did she simply wear it because she wanted to? He couldn't tell by looking, but he wouldn't ask about it, not whilst there had been no change in topic at least. The reply she gave made the dark-haired male smirk a little more, turning his gaze to the sky. "If I had a dollar for every time I've heard that...every time someone's sworn to care for a lesser creature, only to break that promise...I'd have enough to provide for that cat myself." He said, mostly thinking out loud before adding in a light shrug. Though he would've added more, something splashing lightly against his cheek made Stahl pause and blink lightly, something small and wet. Was it the spray of a rather large wave? Did this woman, far passed annoyed by his presence, spit at him? Or maybe..."Oh, rain...strange, the clouds further out didn't show any signs of a storm..." He thought. Seeing movement in the corner of his eye, Stahl looked back to the female as she stood. As she turned to face him, the male noticed three things. Firstly, her uncovered eye was a dark shade of red, an eye color he didn't see very often if at all. Two, though she had a distinctly feminine face, the jewellery she wore, along with a look that said volumes of what she thought about him, had a rather harsh effect. Three, to Stahl anyway, that near-threatening appearance was almost immediately drowned out by the small animal poking it's head out from her hoodie. His attention returning to the female, introducing herself as Alana, he smiled lightly and closed his eyes. "I wonder...are you asking because you actually care who I am? Or are you just trying to seem polite? Or perhaps there's another reason...curious..." He said, opening his eyes and looking up at Alana. Before she had a chance to answer, he pushed himself off of the lamp post and put his hands behind his head. "Whatever the case, I'm Stahl." He added simply.
For a moment, Stahl's expression changed to one of slight puzzlement, he tilted his head slightly, his gaze not leaving Alana even briefly. "You know, I've watched this place for a while, not to mention a bunch of others, but I can't seem to recall ever seeing you before." He said, placing a hand to his chin, his brows furrowing momentarily. "Either you're new to Janhall, or our paths have seriously never crossed until today...interesting..." Without so much as another pause, the male suddenly smiled lightly and shrugged. "No matter, either way, it's best not to stay out here for long. Who knows how much harder this rain is going to get and I'm sure your new friend would like to be indoors." There were few that knew Stahl personally, but most that did would say he was a bit of a scatterbrain sometimes, no focus unless it was dire that he needed to, but there was at least a point to the change in topic. Though only slightly, the rain had indeed picked up, it seemed as though there was little chance of it stopping any time soon.
{No need to apologise, hope things clear up soon}"I'm crystallised, I'm lost in my head, But with you, my only hope, I can begin this boundless renewal."
