Her eyes softened, she could feel her heart flutter in her chest. Just thinking about having someone to love you, and to be there when it was needed the most. Unless Royal was following her, she spend much of her time alone. She was a strong filly, and stoic. usually doing things for herself. Having a stallion like him..."you are my lucky star" she put in, before starting to groom him again, appreciating over his fine coat, and strong shoulders. She felt so safe with him there, safe from animals, from other ponies... from herself..

He glanced at her "not to worry my dearest Star, I will always be there for you when you need me. I'm yours and you are mine and that will never change" he put in as she started to groom him again. "Even in the darkest of times, I will shine brightly for you" he finished with a light nod of his head.

The little silver hooves danced on the wet ground near the water's edge as the blackened snout played with the bristled brown tip of the cat tail. Little ears were perked forward in absolute amazement and amusement.
Enyo was having the time of her little life with the reeds growing about her. "Momma, what are these?" Giggled out the little filly as she proceeded to clamp her teeth about one of the long stems. Thinking about taking home the long reed and teasing her younger sisters with it. Ooh, the fun she could have!Safari watched her oldest with a simple shake of her head. Babies would always be babies, she knew this and at the same time felt that her daughters did deserve that freedom.
With a smile and as she approached her daughter's side, the black and sunset striped mare answered simply, "Cat tail is what that plant is called."
As she watched her daughter play at the water's edge, Safari's golden eyes narrowed some, the fine hairs of her mane stood up on edge, not that she felt threatened, but because she could feel someone, or something watching her or possibly her daughter.
The mare lifted her head up and looked about the water's edge, this was something she feared, well, actually the worse for her daughter was what she feared, but having something unknown be out there.
Flaring her nostrils, Safari sniffed the breeze that blew by, she smelled the fresh water and the grass. There was also the smell of other ponies, but their scents were not fresh enough to concern her. Stepping ever closer to Enyo, almost to were the mother stood over her young protectively, Safari looked over her shoulder towards the taller reeds.
A quick glance would have showed nothing really out of the ordinary, but this was a calculating glare of a mother with one of her young. Did she need to stop the already starring filly from her play and tell her to run? Should she call out to whatever was out there?
No, she wouldn't frighten her daughter unless she had too. Instead, as Enyo moved out from under her over bearing mother, Safari heard her voice deadpan in a serious tone, her daughters had yet to grasp the magnitude of yet, "Stay close to me, Enyo."

She nuzzled his jaw and rested one front hoof on the edge of one of his. Her way of silently and lovingly acknowledging his words.
She Yawned lightly. Her belly was full and the wind smelled faintly of rain."you had enough apples? I am feeling all sleepy from a full belly." she said gently. Her pale yellow eyes looked heavier that earlier and she kept resting more weight on one back leg than the other, resting her hocks.
She had a place with Royal but to her, it was time for him to provide a different place to stay.

Watching the little ones was warming to his heart, and he had to try not to glow lightly. He has no powers but his body reflected his mood rather vividly sometimes.
He gazed at the Mare who was adorned with such striking colors, and his mind wondered where her mate was. With little ones, usually there was a Stallion not too far but the wind didn't carry the smell of one, not even really from her or the babies.
He noticed her starting to become tense and watching her struggle not to alarm the foals too awfully much. His ears swiveled lightly as he though about his presence may be the cause of her tension. He would need to make an appearance with out startling them.
So he softly spoke from the reeds, His voice so subtle and gentle. It was a deep voice that could be rather loud or intimidating if he wanted it to. but at the moment it was more like a deep soft rumble."Hello, don't be alarmed." he stated as he slowly stood to his hooves. His royal purple and star studded form raising into view slowly from the reed bed, crested with a deep purple and stark white mane. His head was slightly lower than what most Stallions would present themselves with. He didn't want to look frightening or threatening. He was a larger Stallion than some, but not the biggest. Not like the first Stallion to this isle, long ago.
His ears were perked but his body language seemed to be quite relaxed as he addressed the mare, but he had a deep warm expression in those soft lavender eyes of his. He couldn't help it, the foals were just so tender to see and a gentleness was in his expression, and his stars were glowing a bit brighter than normal."I was laying in the reeds here when you and your darling Foals walked up. I am sorry, I didn't mean to stare or make you feel tense."

He flicked his ears forward before speaking up "Yes, I have had enough apples I feel like nap" he mentioned before stretching some and slowly sliding down to his belly. "i'll find a place for us to settle down" he put in.

She nodded to him lightly, her mane and tail swaying in the wind that cut up from the lake. She wonders what safe place he would provide.
She leaned in and nuzzled his jaw once more with the soft of her nose, lipping at a star on his face before standing at attention, waiting for him to lead the way."Well, I am ready and it's starting to smell like rain" she mentioned, eyeing the tree over head that rustled in the wind above them.

He followed her gaze upwards towards the trees "that seems to be the case" he said before standing up and stretching out his leg muscles before swishing his tail to and fro. "We better start heading home, there's going to be a rain storm" he told her before starting to pad down the pathway leading here towards the place he called home.

She followed him with curiosity in her eyes. She didn't know what to expect for his home to look like, but she was willing to find out. The wind moaned through the trees and ripped through her mane and tail, causing them to ripple in the air. She watched her step and kept her eyes on him.
Her mind went off in tangents about stories of ponies that had wings that Royal always talked about. She was slowly getting distracted in her imaginings as she started to look at the swaying trees, and began to veer.
