[Leo > entrance; Zeke, nods to Justin]
Somehow Leo had missed sight of Zeke upon entry, but now that he was right in front of him (and not to mention, probably more eye catching than most of the Raevens at the moment), the photographer couldn’t help but chuckle under his breath the closer he got. Anya was nowhere to be seen, but he chalked that up to the weather. ”How could I forget you, Zeke?” he asked, his voice a bit teasing as he raised a brow. ”Sorry, though. I didn’t mean to not contact you sooner, but better late than never, huh?”
The other man was one he didn’t recognize, and for the moment he had little time for introductions as he felt the phone in his front pocket vibrate madly. He’d have to make a mental note of Justin for later acknowledgements. ”Sorry to dash, but I’ll be right back. Client’s calling plus I gotta get the presents out of the car.”
With that, he rushed quickly out the door with his phone against his ear.

((Harrison > Anita > Zeke)) ((Camille > Booze))
Harrison ducked over to Anita, smile large on his face and easily moves through the crowd despite his limp to bestow a friendly hug, arms arched up over he like a willow tree before a gentle squeeze and release, "Anita, hey, good to see you doin' alright. Just wanted to pop in and say, hi. Not meaning to cram your style here."
The older man chuckled and gave a passing wave to the 'harem' Anita was departing from. His helmet bag still clutched in a hand. He glanced back at Anita and then to the crowd, taking a short breath, "gonna see if I can't find Zeke. Looking for a Raevan named Luka? And I guess Zul too... I'll catch up with you in a bit, okay?"
Harrison gave a small wave before turning to see a shock of hair and a sweater to rival Camille's own. He chuckled and moved towards Zeke, calling his name.
"Hey there, Zeke!"
---
Camille gave little notice to the compadres to his left and right, merely smiling and nodding and raising his flask at the man to his left. He shook it slightly with a face and decided it was getting low. The toxic concoction within-- the flask had never fully been emptied nor had it ever been washed so the remnants of 4 years worth of hard liquor into a poisonous brew- was sure to have a touch up in his opinion. He spied a bottle of Tequila and grinned wildly.

((Zeke --> Leo --> Trox))
The stern look broke as soon as Leo greeted him and a new smile was on Zeke's face in a heartbeat. As the photographer got closer Zeke patted him on the shoulder like a brother, but did not stop the man who was on a beeline for the door behind the vet.
"Yeah sure! I'll be around, I'm sure you'll be able to find me!" He gestured to his brightly clad form and laughed, giving the other man a wave as he disappeared into the December darkness. Zeke pivoted back around in time to see Trox moving toward him and the vet lit up all the more. "How's it going Trox?!""
He met the taller man half way and immediately extended his hand out in a shake. Despite all his airs and festive choice of clothing, Zeke had waffled on attending the party in truth. Anya had declined and Zeke, still not letting go of his tightly clutched worry for her, had been uncertain whether to leave her or not. It had been Brad and some gentle coaxing that convinced Zeke to attend. The Italian would keep Anya company if she so desired it and he made a point to mention that his younger boyfriend deserved to go out and have a little fun for himself. Over the past few months that had been in short supply in Zeke's life thanks to everything that came with recovery from injuries both physical and mental. Standing here now, he was realizing just how long it had been and how he had been craving something like this. Another point that had sealed in Zeke's attendance was actually twofold. He was shaking hands with one of the two, but the second one was not in sight just yet. Perhaps Duncan hadn't yet arrived. Either way, he wouldn't put his little plan into motion until he had both men tucked securely under each of his arms.
"Enjoying the party?"

[ Domevlo --> Christmas Tree w/ Elai and Revontulet ]
"Ren is welcome." He seemed to smile more his eyes closing briefly. Relief? perhaps? It was good to be back out and mingling with his own kind. He couldn't remember a time he'd felt at ease. With the moving and uprooting of his life he had did everything in his power to make his guardian's life miserable. Anything that would get it through that thick cowboy's head that he hated being so far from his own. Even going far enough to poison those stupid mutts. It was a means to an end.
As Ren moved closer to him, his eyes seemed to hone in on that hand, watching carefully. He wasn't used to contact and didn't know what reaction he was meant to give so he did nothing. It wasn't uncomfortable to have her touch but neither did he find comfort. Somehow he was indifferent. If she found pleasure in being close then he would allow it. Besides he did enjoy having her near so that was a step in a positive light. His eyes warmed from their earlier sharpness as he nodded his head with approval.
Attention now on Elai, Domo gave an agitated sigh but responded to the man's inquiry. "Thanatos. The guardian that has come with Domevlo, he is the cowboy at the alcohol bar..." Lifting a single finger he pointed the cowboy out who was still plastered to the bar nursing another drink. His dislike of the cowboy was palpable in that he was glaring death to the man before he returned his attention back to Elai.

(( duncan previously / mordekai -> lobby, alcohol bar, camille ))
Mordekai tried halfheartedly to convince Duncan to never attend the party, y'idiot, but he did anyways. And he managed to rope Mordekai into helping prepare the feast, even, starting from early, early in the morning to only a few hours before the event.
He decided to wait out a majority of the procession at a cafe nearby, but he was oddly restless for hours, which descended into drinking several cups of espresso. Mordekai wandered outside, stared into nothing, then wandered back to the Lab's direction, cup of coffee in hand.
Upon reaching the lobby, he stared unceremoniously at the gaggle of company and sipped his espresso-- one brief look around the corner, though, and he spot the alcohol bar. He dryly sipped his espresso and wondered, vaguely, why he made the effort to walk all the way over here, when he didn't have the heart to entertain strange company.
He also wondered if he should be drinking while medicated, but he figured he would live with the regret later. Mordekai managed to wave briefly at Duncan-- who was quietly surprised at the blond's surprise arrival-- and sat himself down at the alcohol bar. He looked around for the bartender.
"Christ, they're just askin' for another disaster," Mordekai muttered to no one-- he resigned to popping his cup of espresso open-- he filled up the emptied contents with a bottle of Baileys, took a sip, and sighed. Mordekai stole a glance at his nearby company and noticed that someone had-- a flask? Mordekai chuckled.
He noted quietly to himself: "Ah, stealin' swill from the party. Why din't I think of that?" Then again, Duncan didn't really mention who or what was going to be present, other than a lot of food-- otherwise, he would have stashed a few of the liquor present for home. There were only so many days he could only subsist company on Blue Moons, and it was Lab's blessing unto its guests not to think twice about not having bar attendants present.

((LuLu : Cocoa booth Luka > Doucette Josh : Cocoa booth > Alcohol table Luka ))
Josh seemed confused at Luka's words. It seemed as though he had not actually expected them to have a history much less a bad one. His smile was wry as he accepted the gift, "Glad to hear she is staying out of trouble then. I appreciate it." He could not help but shake the gift gently only to hear a tinny rattle within it. His eyes widened and you could practically see ideas spinning in his head as he tried to guess the contents. "A Merry Christmas to you, too."
With that said, he tore a strip of paper off the reveal the top seam of the tin. His next flourish of movement was to rip the lid away and place it on the counter behind him. A low, impressed hum came from within Josh's chest. The boy plucked one of the treats, a small cake, from a piece of parchment and placed it in his mouth. He nodded approvingly, "Tastes amazing! My complements to the chef." He washed the rich bite down with a swig of hot chocolate.
Josh noticed Lu's eyeing the treats and smirked. He lowered the tin down to her and gave the container a small shake. The numerous confections jostled around but remained unharmed. "Plenty to go around."
LuLu chose a scone instead of a cake and took a tentative nibble from a corner. She soon also chimed in with her approval, "Yummy." The rabbit finished off the rest of the treat and fought the urge to lick her fingers. Instead, she wiped them on a napkin from the table.
With the gift exchange complete, LuLu looked around for her next stop in the party. As much as she wanted to make the most of her time with Luka, she could not commandeer the frei. Also, Dou was still around the cocoa table and Lu wanted to greet the woman properly. The sigel nodded to Luka, "It was nice seeing you again. I look forward to the next time." She gave one last squeeze to his shoulder before she moved past him and to the red head.
LuLu chirped to her friend, "Ms. Dou!"
Meanwhile, Josh replaced the lid on the dessert tin and decided his cup of cocoa could use a little more... zip. He clapped Luka on the back as he walked towards the alcohol assortment.

(( Cam -> Mordekai || Trox -> Zeke ))
"Ah, stealin' swill from the party. Why din't I think of that?"
It was faint but the flight medic still heard the uttered comment. He furrowed his brow, squinting straight ahead as he paused mid swig from his flask. Camille gripped the flask with his lips, letting it hang against his chin as he readjusted his grip to his crutches. The smaller man struggled to redirect his body, a brow quirking upward at the sight of the older man, accent hanging heavy on his ears. He knew that accent. Hell he had that accent. This allowed him to keep the absolute look of indifference, curiosity and disgust for being interrupted and mocked for his genius idea of a flask.
The cajun held out a hand, dropping the flask from his lips into the palm before finally speaking to the man.
"Prolly cos y'brain's half melted widall tha' backwater sewage y'call a train'f though'. Coonass like y'self..." He paused, maintaining a the same face before slowly cracking a genuine smile and swigging back on his flask. Balancing the crutches under his arms he reached forward with his free hand.
--
Trox grinned, teeth and dimple. He gripped Zeke's hand and gave it a firm shake. The raver was growing on him and damn was he a sight for sore eyes with all these young strangers cruising the lobby. He raised a brow, holding up his helmet bag holding both gifts from himself and Camille to their secret santa designees as an indicator to just how settled into the party he was.
"Well, I've been ditched by Cam for alcohol... Oh look he's terrorizing the locals. Nice," Harrison started, nodding over to where the equally flamboyant christmas sweater clad man was sucking down from his flask, "And I have secret santa presents to hand out but not the faintest who these characters are."
He chuckled and shook his head, shrugging, "Once I get that done, maybe I'll think of enjoying myself... The Raevans are born here right?" He asked, his developing ward fresh on his mind.

[[Fathle > Bar [Xan] || Dayo > Lobby [Cruz + Ethiriel]]]
Fathle looked around the room. A raeven with a crocodile soul. His eyes kept on returning to a green-shaded raeven that was with Dayo’s group. A part of his back glittered with green scales. Fathle gestured toward the raeven. “You may want to try the raeven by my Dayo. He has dragon-like wings and scales. He seems to make a reptilian description…”
---
Ekundayo had given Lulu’s hand a squeeze before she slipped away with Luka. She would have followed the rabbit but she had found her secret Santa person. She smiled at Leo’s thanks. “You’re welcome. Faye and I hope you like it,” she said before Leo politely excused himself. Her golden eyes fixated on Cruz as he introduced himself. She smiled at his compliment, blushing happily. She had been told before by humans that she was pretty but hearing it from a raeven… it was more substantial to her. Dayo took Cruz’ offered hand with both of her hands and shook it firmly. “Hello, Cruz! And thank you. You’re the second boy raeven I have met besides Luka,” she said with a smile. “You remind me of a statue I saw in Italy, very handsome.” Dayo knew she was gushing but she couldn’t help it. It was the combination of her excitement to be back home and the fact that everyone’s happy emotions were soaking into her skin.
Dayo withdrew her hands from Cruz and was momentarily distracted as Ethiriel pressed small kisses to the crocodile’s face and one to his lips. Dayo had asked Faye once why humans did this when she saw couples on the streets. He had said that that was how they showed the other person they loved them. A small flicker of longing sparked in her chest but it died as quickly as it came when Ethiriel politely posed a question. “Oh, yes, of course! I have a soul of an eagle and the essence of a little storm cloud,” she said with a smile. There was a small pause before Dayo tentatively posed a question. “Are you and Cruz girlfriend and boyfriend?”

((Zeke --> Trox))
Zeke looked at the bag as Harrison pointed it out to him before his eyes drifted back up to look toward the open bar. The vet had to chuckle at the sight but he had no idea who the man with the pilot's roommate was. Perhaps a family friend of someone or a curious lookie-loo. He'd have to introduce himself later.
"Maybe I can help you with the gifts," Zeke put his focus back on Trox, grin spreading in an attempt to keep a sudden moment of embarrassment from shining through. Zeke hadn't missed the part about the Secret Santa, but with the waffling he had done, the vet had almost neglected throwing his name into the pot until it was too late. Speaking of presents, the vet was now realizing he had left his gift in his car thanks to his excitement to get inside and mingle. "Who did you get?"
Bouncing on the balls of his toes slightly, Zeke started to scan the room for the faces Trox would be giving him. People were milling about everywhere, chatting and having a good time. It was nice to see, even if the lobby was absent two always present figures during the Lab's open house parties. Dr. Kyou was still in a coma and Laz was sure to be by his bedside. After Zeke put his plan into motion regarding Harrison and Duncan, he'd be sure to stop in to check on the Sigel and see if he couldn't offer him a moment or two of time off to stretch his wings and visit with everyone out here.
"Hmm?" With the din of everyone talking and the ongoing stream of holiday music coming from various speakers around the area, Zeke almost missed what his pilot friend asked. Peering at him owlishly for half a second, the vet realized what was asked of him and the vet nodded with enthusiasm. "Yup! The laboratory is in the back of the building, past my office and the cafeteria." He pointed behind Trox to the open glass door at the back of the room. It had a sign taped to it that read 'Cafeteria This Way' with an arrow underneath. There was a curious light in the vet's eyes, try as he might to contain the surprise that wanted so badly to burst out of him at that affirmation. He had to wait till he caught sight of Duncan and helped Trox find the recipients to his gifts!

[Revontulet --> Christmas Tree with Elai and Domevlo]
"Yes, I know Luka," the newborn replied to the guardian warmly, her cheeks hinting the palest of rose as she blushed, "We are both princesses." Revontulet's lips were curled in the slightest of smiles that indicated her enjoyment of the inside joke, their interaction on the bus one of the few highlights of the eventful journey into the jungle.
With her fingers lingering upon the gray frei, Ren's own eyes twinkled as he nodded his ok. She cared not so much about comforting Domo, rather connecting with him physically for her own, somewhat selfish purposes. Touch was integral to the frei, and with his acceptance she moved closer, resting the entire breadth of her palm upon the man's upper arm. Upon her back, the pale green appendages of her wings hummed in a sound that was almost akin to a purring, the aurora simply happier when she was touching another.
Upon Domevlo's mention of his guardian, and the outright iciness upon his words, Revon lofted a slender brow into the sweep of her bangs. Her own response of "Doucette" and the general indifference of her tone seemed downright friendly in comparison. To be truthful, the moonstone had no such interest in inviting the redhead along, but she did not dislike the idea so much that she would deny Luka's guardian the company. It would not be seemly for a lady to show disgust and influence Elai's opinion of her negatively.
Perhaps he could some day forbid them to spend time together?
Inconceivable...
[Doucette --> Hot Chocolate Bar with Lulu]
While the newborn made friends, her guardian finished her second hot chocolate, gazing about the room once more in hopes of figuring out her next course of action. The moment she convinced herself to move into a group and try to join the conversation, Doucette psyched herself out and retreated back to the cocoa bar. Despite seeming outgoing and bubbly, the woman could also suffer from crippling social anxiety, especially if she didn't know the people around her. With so many new guardians and the people she did know already tied up, the Irish woman simply smiled and offered hellos to people who came near but offered very little else in terms of interaction.
"Lulu!" Doe's expression brightened like the sun coming from behind the clouds and sparkling off the snow. How kind of the rabbit sigel to come and speak to her despite having so many others of her kind to interact with. "How are you? You've grown!! What a beautiful young woman you are!"
The compliments continued to gush forward, the guardian's mind not only on Lulu but now also wandering off to the idea of her own charge some day growing and how she would change. Of course that would not be for a long time, but could it hurt to let her imagination drift? "How have you been?" she prompted again after finally coming to the end of her compliments.

(( Cruz Lobby with Ethiriel & Ekundayo | Anita Dinner Table --> Trox --> Sofas with Justin ))
With a small bowl of pumpkin soup in hand, Anita started on her way toward the couches. The man she'd just gestured too managed to catch up with her quicker than she anticipated, however, and she gave a quiet "oh" of surprise before smiling and returning his quick hug with one arm. With his light squeeze, she offered one of her own and a firm pat on the back before parting. "Hi," she laughed. Trox was talking pretty fast, which she figured out why the more he spoke; he was on a mission and he sounded kind of eager. The quip about cramping her style earned him a skeptical smirk. She knew both of those names but, without a doubt, she knew Zul hadn't yet arrived. If Trox was already on his way to Zeke, though, she wouldn't keep him and he'd be equally as helpful. "He knows 'em. I'll see ya," Anita grinned and waved him off. She watched long enough to see the two men meet up. Zeke looked so much better compared to the helicopter ride, she let off a contented sigh then righted her course back towards the sofas.
In that time, Justin had beaten her but no one else seemed to have followed. She caught his eye for a second while sitting, smirked, then got herself situated. Thankfully there was a coffee table in the center of the sofa arrangement so Anita could sit her soup and second secret santa gift down. This one was a cool grey bag with subtle white snowflake patterns and white tissue paper peeking out from the top. It was about the same size as the one they'd given to LuLu. Anita took the braid from over her shoulder and through it behind her to get it out of the way, leaned forward with her elbows on her knees and let out a loud, comfortable sigh.
"Starving," she mumbled, taking the bowl in her hands and leaning back into the couch. Anita slouched, taking a second to sniff the contents of the soup and take a tentative taste off the tip of her spoon before digging in. "You eaten yet? The foods always been ridiculously good at these functions." Truth be told, she was surprised he was here but there was probably a whole slew of reasons.
The croc gave a subtle rumble in his throat as Ethiriel's fingers entwined with his. Both of them were fairly room temperature, which meant they were still shaking off the chill from outside, but even between a cold blooded raevan like himself and one who was naturally restricted to the temperature around her, the contact would help them warm up. Dayo's skin, on the other hand, was soft and deliciously warm. He soaked up their contact for as long as he could, adoring immediately the fact she used both hands, and reluctantly pulled away when she did.
Cruz's attention, otherwise, was fully on Dayo. He kept a keen smile and bright eyes which widened with genuine interest as she spoke. "Really?" Cruz laughed in surprise, "I hope you meet more." Her compliment caused him to beam, mouth opening wider with excitement. "Thank you. Maybe I'll see that statue--" Soft lips on his cheek broke Cruz's concentration. His eyes unfocused, smile dropped, then his eyes closed completely and his expression was completely overtaken with contented delight. The frei let loose a deep purr, only to be interrupted by a much more tender kiss right where he needed it most. His fingers gently squeezed Ethiriel's in thanks and he hovered closer. His green eyes opened again when Dayo responded -- the bird he'd certainly picked up on from her wings but, oh, a storm cloud! No wonder she smelled like rain. That was a scent he appreciated, particularly on hot Summer nights.
Her question threw him off. Cruz just smiled and blinked for a moment, not understanding. He glanced to Ethiriel, to Dayo, then to their held hands. Oh.
"Thiriel is my friend who's a girl and I'm her friend who's a boy," he explained lightly, laughing, "The kisses -- they're how I eat. They're really nice but they're not like human romance kisses."
It was very brief but his rune had caught it, her momentary desire. There was no conscious awareness of it on Cruz's part, just something instinctual that pushed him to hover nearer to Dayo. "Have you kissed before?" His heart beat excitedly along with his rune, which pulsed and thrummed both happily and hungrily. Cruz's gaze was innocent and so was his intent but he lowered his voice to a more private level, just between the three of them, to try and spare Dayo any potential embarrassment. "Can I kiss you?"

( Arriving )
Despite the date, Phiel had managed to wrangle it so that he would be off. Christmas parties were not his forte, but Zurine had insisted. Having missed everyone all summer and a fair bit of the fall, she wanted to be certain she'd get to see them all now. She was, in fact, dragging him a little; he was dragging his loafer-clad feet, and she was floating ahead, gripping one gloved hand in her pale ones. "Hurry, Phiel," Zuri chided. "We are already late." Her sweater was shimmering softly in the cool light, pinned back with a big silver bow, and she looked just like a Christmas present herself, especially in contrast to Phiel's sober black. He had conceded, however, and pinned to the collar of his turtleneck was a little enameled pin in the shape of a cardinal gripping a holly sprig in his orange beak. Zuri thought it looked quite festive. Christmas was one of her favorite times of the year and she intended to enjoy it to its fullest.

[[Dayo > Lobby [Cruz]]]
Dayo blinked at Cruz’s explanation. “That’s such a… that’s such a sweet way to feed! I feed on emotions so I’m getting very full at this party,” she said with a happy smile. The crocodile raeven drifted closer and he lowered his voice.
Have you kissed before? Can I kiss you?
Dayo’s face flushed a little at the question and shook her head. No, she had seen human couples kiss and kisses in the movies. She had even seen Faye kiss people on the cheek. “No, I’ve never kissed someone,” she said with a shy smile as she copied Cruz and lowered her voice. “But… yes, of course you may, Cruz.” If he was hungry, she wanted to help. Of course, the added benefit that she would finally get her first kiss. Her wings fluttered a little with anticipation and she found that her heart was beating faster in her chest as if she and Faye had just come back from the playground. She offered one more flushed smile before she copied what she saw in the movies: Dayo puckered her lips, closed her eyes, and leaned toward Cruz, waiting for her kiss.

(( duncan previously / mordekai -> lobby, alcohol bar, camille ))
Mordekai stood up from his chair and downed the rest of his lazily spiked coffee. He rummaged through a few of the bottles available at the alcohol bar-- he took the Bailey's again and poured more into his cup to drink plain-- then let his eyes wander over to Camille. Boy was a damn cajun? And he was addressing him. Despite Cam's initial deadpan face, Mordekai immediately lit with a curious, quirked smile, then leaned forward against the table.
"Be real honest with you, couyon like me cain' even tell if any brain is left in all'a this swamp slog," he drank from his cup and stared at Camille as he took a swig; he sighed in faux-disappointment, "Speakin' of, I must be real asleep if I'm seein' another coonass 'round here. Mam tol' me real good that they wouldn't bother me none 'cross the Atchafalaya." He spoke faster than he usually did around other company-- the way he talked often embarrassed him for one reason or another, but he couldn't bring himself to care so much for now. Mordekai scoffed, though, and ran a hand through his hair.
"Christ, hear me talk. I try coverin' it up an' it jus' spills right back out. You really hear what I say?" It took him a while to realize, but Mordekai beamed at Cam and firmly returned a handshake.
"Mordekai Kantor. You are?"

"Don'chu gimme no sass," Cam smiled brightly, shaking Mordekai's hand only once before releasing and returning his grip to the crutch, re adjusting his hips to place more weight on the prosthetic. He then returned the flask to his mouth, unscrewing the cap with lips and taking another gulp, coughing because damn it had far more kick now that the green substance had mellowed out the harsh flavors of the residual concoction.
"Call me Cam," He regarded the taller man, brow furrowing as he looked him over, placing him as someone who was at least a military brat- possibly grown up into a Soldier but just as he hated people assuming his own history he'd keep quiet, "An whatchu mean 'fin y'cross outta th'Basin, y'ain' gonna find anyone else?"
Cam snorted, biting down on the cap of his flask to hold it again and kicking his toe at the carpet. When he spoke it was distorted coming from around the bottle but audible enough, "s**t, man. Don' be actin' a fool now. An' y'voice carries more'n m'pilot like frien's snorin' over there"
Cam nodded back to Troxel who was eagerly working with Zeke. The tall man had pulled out the gifts in front of him, reading off the names they had written just to be sure he didn't mistake one or the other. Harrison held out each one as he said the name aloud.
"Well we've got a Zul and a Luka here!"
