But then those ladies caught her look and went charging for her again, like it was her fault that Solomon's attention were a bit here and there!

Things quickly degraded into a good ol'slap fight, which America was sadly losing.

Awww s**t, they weren't letting go of her and swimming was getting difficult. She tried distracting them by pointing at Solomon.

Some one pulled off her ******** air tank and America knew things were gonna get real ugly for her real fast. These bitches were fighting so dirty, she was ready to call the tentacles back.
As her body slowly floated to the surface, she mustered up just enough energy to flip them off one last time. A few minutes later, she'd wash up on the beach, panting and squinting angrily into the rising sun.

For a second he considered sticking around despite the fact America had just floated on up without him, but to be honest......
A glance at the mermaids and he decided <******** that. And not in the way America would tease him for either.
He just had to surface without any more mermaids.
As he pulled himself out of the water, he popped the mouthpiece of his air tank out, laid on his back, and laughed. "Some girls can't handle rejection...."

Leaning back on her elbows, America admired the rising sun (and Bond-guy style Saul was rocking) with a wry grin. "Not gunna lie, I was a bit jealous of all the attention you were getting. Guess the grass is always greener on the otherside, until the grass decides to visit and leaves with a good chunk of you hide." At least her greed was determined enough that she only lost about half her stones.

He laughed a bit. "Yeah, but you looked pretty impressive taking them on." He said, slicking a hand through his hair as he glanced to her. "But definitely not as much fun as I made it look, huh?"
Because it was easy to think he liked fishy lady attentions when they liked him so much.
"Still got a pretty good haul." Solomon commented as he counted his runestones.

Sighing she laid back down with a soft thump. "Had a good haul, but lost a bunch due to reasons of jealous sea hussies. Hope they choke on 'em. All said and done, though? It was fun. Gunna try 'em again, opprotunity next." With a groan she pushed herself up, half-heartedly dusting a bit of sand of.
"Now to find some inner peace," she smiled wryly, grabbing up her bundle of clothes.

"Sea hussies with bad taste." he laughed as he put his visor back on. "I could barely keep up with you, though. You were finding rocks left and right. Could rebuild that portal by yourself if there weren't sea hussies.'
Because it was fun to call them that. Throwing his shirt over his shoulder and picking up his boots, he couldn't help but shoot America a strange (hidden) look. It was hard to imagine her finding inner peace.
"Got any ideas on that?"

"Oh, I dunno about bad taste," he reminded her a bit of Uncle Brady, and last she saw he was on his fifth wife and second mistress. Ladies couldn't get enough of the man. "But they were sure insistent about having you."
Squinting into the distance, she pointed in the direction of the dorms. "I figure the roof of yonder building would do. Less likely to be attacked, but still all one with nature and what have you."

"Seriously. I think I actually have teeth marks in my legs." Solomon would have tried to look, but wet pants meant 'stuck really tight to you' pants which wasn't really a look that...well, it looked about the same as he usually did, carry on.
Looking to where America was pointing, he squinted. "Doesn't look like too bad a spot, I guess. Care if I keep tagging along? Bonding Nakama s**t or whatever it was? Spite some mermaids?"

America looked too, but didn't notice too much blood, so she just shrugged at the mermaid idea of woo-ing a man. "Yeah, can always use company, though I suppose I'll never really be alone again, will I? Huh."
Nope.
She didn't mind, it was kinda reassuring, really.
America didn't bother getting dressed, no sense in dirtying her clothes, laundry being what it was. They passed a few more early risers, heading off for a jog or a spar or actual work of some sort. Once in the dorm proper, they even passed another hunter that had taken a clothes optional start to their day. He was a big ol'chunk of man too and America didn't shy from giving him a thorough up and down before giving him a casual high-five as they passed by.
"Island living sure does keep the men fit," she commented, holding the door to the stairwell open. At the top was a pull down metal ladder to the roof.

"A blessing and a curse, the never alone." he agreed. What's wrong with us? Yeah! We've got your back and you throw us under the bus? LAME.
Solomon did less eyeballing of other figures and spent more time giving serious thought to how to best scale up to the higher up places without too much work into it. Most of it required running starts, but it kept his mind occupied on the things he'd filled his life with off of the island.
"Probably keeps the ladies fit too," Solomon mentioned idly, having (possibly purposely) not noticed America giving people eyes. Hey, she probably liked men built like walls and there were plenty of those around there - he'd just never be one of them. "According to a Mist Hunter named Nevada, she thinks they put something in the pods you wake up in to make everybody really good looking." he shared - as it was probably a theory his fellow sun would find interesting, if not the name choice.
He took the door when he reached arm's reach of it, closing it behind him to look up to the roof and the ladder thoughtfully. Being the taller of the two, he pulled it down - "Want to lead the charge, Captain?"
Couldn't call her Madam President, that was Peyton.

America gave a snort, "I feel healthy enough, despite those fish bitches efforts, but I look about the same as I ever did. Recruiters probably just have good standards."
She scrambled up the ladder without a second thought, and scouted out the area for a good spot. There was a firepit omg sorts off to the side, which she wouldn't definitely take advantage of later, and a few lawn chairs, one of which was covered in stickers, and an empty cooler. None of it really struck her as much for inner peace, so she decided to just fish out the carving knife she'd been given and sit herself down on the ledge, legs dangling over. The sun was still lounging pretty on the horizon, make for a nice view.
"Now to make these stones a bit more useful. Don't wanna have a dead phone before even a week is through."

The roof was a mess, but it looked like it would have been a nice place to hang out at one point in time. "Could clean this place up an have a barbeque once we have actual food again." he commented idly, kicking the side of the cooler before putting the lid down to perch on it.
Like batman.
"Well yeah, having dead anything on this island seems to be what wer'all working against." Dead phones, dead people. Sounded right.
Still, the 'inner peace' part of anything was going to be the pain of this all, because as he held his first stone and looked at it, he could feel every concern and idle thought he had - the things that woke him up - weedling into him. It was hard to keep them away when you had less to do all of a sudden.
