There was one more door on the first floor she hadn't visited.
And on the table was octopus.
It had been her favorite meal. She thought, inching closer. She liked fish enough yes, but octopus, when grilled, was excellent. Two of them were enough for her whole family to share, each getting a tentacle, and Radek would slip her an extra because he knew she liked it...
When she swallowed her last bite, a gargoyle appeared, along with a key and a mint.
Eh, why not. She popped the mint in her mouth.

The remaining black door on floor 3 was next.
...Wait what? A stage? What?
Marzena could only stare as the crowd applauded, shell-shocked by the spotlight right on her. "I don't..." She tried to explain; anything to get her out of this mess, but something within her rose up in her throat.
She felt herself singing. It had been a long time since she had, but Damian had always wanted her to sing him to sleep, while Radek sat by with a content smile on his face and... it actually felt good, strangely enough. She had never liked to have a huge audience, but they were quiet, appreciative and well...
Huge applause and cheers greeted her and Marzena felt herself shrink backwards. A crown was placed on her head and a trophy with... a key?
Ah yes. That was what she was here for.
