♦The Magician♦And I'm the punchline "I see," Lord Death replied simply to Misty. He looked back to Scarlet. "Another tool wrapped around your little finger? I sometimes wonder how you work so fast..." Scarlet gave a smirk. "Practice makes perfect," she replied. Lord Death raised his guns, his expression turning angry as his Shinigami wavelength began to rise. "I'm sorry to disappoint you, but this time you won't be getting away with it. That student is not yours to have." Scarlet's wavelength rose as well, the combined energy of the two powerful beings beginning to collapse the buildings around them. Inwardly Scarlet knew the odds were well against her in this, but outwardly she seemed calm and confident. Besides, Lord Death wouldn't dare attack one of his own students. "Misty, please throw yourself at Lord Death and attack with all your strength," she ordered calmly with a small smile. This was a way to turn the tide in her favor.

Despite being frightened to death, the demon sword charged against shinigami. At first it was a battle do decide who she feared the most, but finding both equally above her in unsurpassable levels she decided to go along in the one she believed the most.
The eyes lost her shine, even the iris turned plain white. The demon blade went against lord death with all her might. Activating her soul carving resonating field, in search to reach Kid within her range to pull herself into one of his hands. Of course there was a backfire at this. Kid was too quick to be caught that easily, and two, both hands were occupied at the moment by her other weapons. Still, she could try to attach herself onto him which would be of little concern, but still a little stone that would give the slightes advantage to Scarlet if not handed properly.

♦The Magician♦And I'm the punchline Kidd focused on Misty, but only for a moment. Still, it was enough. He had to take his eyes off Scarlet in order to point both his guns down at Misty's legs and fired in an attempt to prevent her from moving around. Although he was strong enough to blow her legs clean off, he reduced the power of his shots to simply maim her for the time being. When he looked up, Scarlet was gone. He felt a sharp pain in his back as Scarlet's bullet ripped through it, coming out the other side. Of course, Misty would be in the way of the bullet if she was still standing. Not that Scarlet particularly cared. Kidd grimaced in pain but he was far from done.

The demon blade was stopped when a cold sensation invaded her legs.
-❝I'm going to die, I'm going to die...I'm going to die, I'm going to die.. ❞-
The defeatist blade replied over and over while standing fragile in the ground, her legs would not respond and now all that was left was a burnt sensation on the edge of the wound, followed by a frightening cold which didn't helped much. However, things were far from being over as she was now in the same situation as when she was at the coliseum. Her soul was gasping desperately for a host to sacrifice in her behalf. Just like when the great ape attacked her.
The range of her wavelength was expanded and now she was just sitting there, luring with her defeatist and fragile figure while yearning for a soul to steal deep within.
Of course, that wouldn't make Lord death fall for it that easily, but he might have to consider where he stepped.

♦The Magician♦And I'm the punchline Both Scarlet and Kidd felt Misty reaching out for a soul to devour. Ironically, Misty's killing spree had ensuring that there were no souls left to consume. Kidd and Scarlet both let Misty lay, firing back and forth. Red and yellow lines criss-crossed each other as Scarlet and Kidd fired their soul resonance powered rounds. She's already down? Scarlet thought in annoyance. Useless! Her vest was pock-marked with bullet holes and Kidd's suit was faring no better. They both had taken hits all across their body, but Scarlet was clearly on the losing end of the fight. Even as a kishin she couldn't stand up to Lord Death on her own. She jumped upwards, landing on a rooftop as Death stood in the street by Misty, looking up at her. They were both breathing heavily but Scarlet realized if the fight continued the way it was going, she would be defeated. That wasn't going to happen. Her gun was aimed at Lord Death but she slowly shifted her aim to point down at Misty's prone form. Without a second's pause she fired, shooting Misty straight through the mid-section in what would be a fatal blow if left untreated. "Coward!" Lord Death yelled up at her as she fired, realizing too late what she was planning. "It's been fun Death!" Scarlet replied cheerily. "Of course you could always chase me, but then little Misty would be long dead by the time you got back!" She giggled slightly before turning around and running, jumping from rooftop to rooftop as she escaped from the town. Lord Death cursed bitterly as he watched her go before quickly turning to Misty. He bent down and gently lifted her up in his arms. "It's not your time yet," he assured her calmly as he looked down at her, preparing to leave the city behind once and for all.

The demon blade was desperate by feeling her limbs going into slumber, she needed a souls to desperately clinch to. However all of it was forgotten once a crimson bullet pierced through her figure, her pain was unbearable by a few seconds, but soon it will all start to fade along with her vision.
-❝I'm going home now... ❞-
Misty replied to Lord death, thinking this was the end of her days, suddenly, she felt no regret. And slowly faded within Death's arms. At least she wouldn't be a burden to transport but what she could do after awakening might be something to consider. Taking in fact that the last thing she tried to do while conscious was to charge against lord Death.

♦The Magician♦And I'm the punchline Kidd looked down at Misty as he heard her final comment before she faded. He didn't reply, instead looking back up towards the exit to the city. His old skateboard appeared under his feet and lifted him quickly into the air. He oriented himself in the direction of the DWMA. Despite what Misty had done, she was still one of his students. And he was very familiar with how easily Scarlet could twist someone's mind around her little finger, especially those who were young and vulnerable. No, Misty wouldn't be punished for what she had done. There would be no point to punishing someone who's mind was gone. Instead, he would do his best to restore her. That meant erasing from her mind the ill-fated mission she had been on and her time in captivity under Scarlet. She would remember none of it and be able to live a normal life as a student from here onwards. Of course, there were always risks to doing something like this. She could remember; a dark part of her would always exist within her subconscious. Trauma wasn't so easily erased. But that was a risk he was willing to take for her sake. He leaned forward, accelerating towards the DWMA and out of the dead city in order to save her life.

The next hour were critical, after all those wounds were no easy task. However DWMA Capable doctors were able to help the injured Child.
Misty was put into treatment and observation for a year or two. Thanks to her memories being erased the therapy went smoothly and without any signs of risk. The more that year faded and the other one started, the more Misty would become a carefree person as she used to be.
-❝ H-huh?! Oh no! I'm Late Again? ❞-
The lazy blade said before knocking her alarm clock and dashing back to class. It took her a bit of time before her hyperactive personality faded into the calm, mischievous and most likely lazy person everyone knew.
Skipping Classes from time to time just to snuggle a couple of minutes in a sofa or bed nearby.
Apparently this seemed to happen whenever there was a Mission proposal or when they were having Sessions to bound with a partner as meister and weapon.
It would seem part of her subconscious evaded any possible risk or activity related with combat.
