As everything started to go back to normal she looked away from the white frazzIed Fauny to the others, having ben more worried about her then what anyone else was saying, and saw that Kaiden had left so, making her way back, she smiled as she saw him, pleased to see him back "I'm sorry" she said as she ran towards him "I was curious, I didn't venture nearer then basically standing at the back and watching, though i do feel sorry for that Fauny, she did seem terribly upset, will she be alright?" She asked sincerely though with a worried tone in her voice, deciding that to get a definite answer would be better to ask someone who was at the front then just what she could see at the back.

Still musing at the multitude of items in his pack, an almost shrill voice pierced the air not too far from him. 'What is THIS?!?' He turned his head to blink at the almost ferocious female, obviously acting more beast than pae. He slung his pack over a shoulder and stepped over to her. "Bug spray." His voice was rather flat, wondering what good the information would do for her. "It repels insects." He kept a few feet between them as a precautionary measure. One never knew what a pae was capable of after all.

Zee wasn't expecting someone to actually HEAR her let alone reply to her proclamation. "Bug spray huh" she repeated with a grin spreading across her lips. The spray was the last thing to be left out of the now messily packed bag. She climbed to her feet her head turning this way and that looking for one of those annoying fairies, soon as she saw one she sprayed it. It of course didn't kill the fairy but it certainly hurried away from her at a quick speed cursing and coughing. "Gee it works!" she pulled the can against her with a nearly evil grin. She looked at the fellow demon and one could tell she was plotting.

Etana smiled a bit. Maybe she was just taking things the wrong way. After all, there was no way a male could be interested in her. This just proved it. He was just overly friendly. And that meant she wouldn't mind spending an afternoon teaching him how to fish.

"Soooo, subject change." She rubbed her neck, blushing a bit. Clearly family was an issue for him as well. What else was there to do around here? Etana couldn't wait to find something to do, or someone to talk to. She was quickly running into uncomfortable subjects.

"What brought you on this hike?" She offered, trying to think of something. Anything really. Get way from the subject of family. Even more so, get away from anything where he could flirt or flatter. Something told Etana he wasn't going to let her get off that easy, but it was worth a shot right?

So much to do! The fairies zipped around, trying to ignore the Pae'il activity for now, even the ear-piercing shriek that caused many of the fairies to drop their tiny clip-boards or supplies they were shuffling around. They gave the incident maybe 3 seconds of thought before resuming their own duties.

At the source of the Chai'en River, where the water is calm, deep and crystal blue a large paddle-boat was being loaded with some supplies. This was no luxury liner, or even close to a cruise ship; there were no individual staterooms. It was merely a tour boat big enough for all of the Pae'il that signed up for the Nature Hike. The paddle was powered by an unidentifiable power source that the fairies were very intent on keeping a secret, so no Pae'il was allowed to investigate it. "Admire from a distance!" they'd chirp at curious Pae'il who got too close.

A very loud whistle reverberated around the area, aiming to get the attention of all present.

"Ladies and Gentlepae, we're going to get going in precisely 30 minutes. Anyone not on the boat will be left behind. No refunds." Shouted a very long and lanky looking Avalon fairy as he looked over a very large clipboard. "We'll be starting the tour with a little sight seeing down the Chai'en River until we get to our first stop. We have many stops along the river where we will break camp on top of the river's rim (cliff-edge). Each day, we'll explore a new part of the jungle, investigating and trying to discover the secrets of why Northern Loka Nei Forest transformed."

Another Avalon fairy zipped over to join the lanky one, and whispered in his ear. After a moment of nodding and whispering back and forth, he resumed his announcement. "Do not worry about the wild life. I've been assured that the wild beasts from Dragnid have not been spotted anywhere north of the river. Yet." he mumbled the final word. "Loka Nei is protected from Dragnid's Taint, so you are in good hands! Don't forget your complimentary survival packs!"

The fairies are available to help any Pae'il who requires assistance. The boat will leave on time, and Pae'il will have some time to socialize before arriving at their first stop. There is a switchback trail that goes up the rim. At this leg of the journey, the rim is not very tall, so it will only take maybe an hour to reach the top of the cliff. The fairies will push the hand cart up, and start assembling tents and the campfire. Each Pae'il gets one tent to them self. There is a place for every pae around the campfire.

The area is several yards from the cliffs edge, so no danger of falling off the cliff unless the Pae is purposely careless. The jungle is also a few yards on the other side, so the campsite is open, clear and safe. Dinner will be served at sundown, and entertainment provided afterwards.

Breakfast will be served at sun-up. Tour guides will start leading groups into the jungle for the first hike following breakfast.

Pae'il can do whatever they want until the tours start, however do not wander far from the campsite. Warning signs will be posted around the campsite relieving the fairies of fault if any Pae'il does not follow directions and is accidently eaten or carried off.

---

((Minor prompt to get the RP going. The paddle-boat is nothing fancy, but does have a couple of large indoor gathering rooms in addition to plenty of room on deck. The handcarts are loaded on the back, near the paddle. A pleasant jazz melody is being played by a small fairy brass band on the main deck.

The rim of the river is similar to the Grand Canyon. There are various switchback trails that allow hiking to the top. Remember jungles are dense, so the river is the easiest way to travel. There are many small streams and rivers throughout Loka Nei that are not marked on the map that will be utilized for travel deeper into the jungle.

Winged Pae'il are allowed to fly to the campsite. Naiad and Faun will unfortunately need to make the hour-long hike up the rim with the handcarts.

Naiad will not dry out hiking. In lieu of tents, they are being provided large aquarium-like tanks for slumber and rehydration. Privacy curtains are supplied. Don't ask how, but the fairies are fast at setting camp, including filling large tanks with water. MAGIC))

Iris Topaz noticed Okeanos as he sat down. She noticed that he was not talking to anyone like her. she was walking over to him when she heard the announcement. Hoping not to lose sight of him she moved quickly though the crowd over to him. Iris Stopped in front of him and held out her hand. "Hi my name is Iris Topaz and..." she stopped she realized how stupid she must hae sounded at that moment. She blushed as she looked down. "Sorry I muust sound like a real idiot but I wanted to know if you wanted to sit together on the boat?"

His eyebrows raised slightly as he watched the female distinctly spray an unfortunate fairy in the face with spray. It was bug spray...being hit in the face with it would make any pae run away. Or hit her. "I don't much care what you do with that." Which really amounted to - not much. But he wasn't going to burst her demonic bubble. "Just don't try to use me to see if it works on pae." Else she might just get eaten by one of his shadow animals. At a piercing whistle, the male looked up. A boat? He purposely chose not to do the cruise. Perhaps he should have chosen the mountain one instead...

He really was bound and determined to be all gloom today! What was going on with him? The male quickly laughed it off with a nod, agreeing with the subject change. "The outdoors really. I really love it out here. It's also a great opportunity to meet new pae! Such as yourself. It seems like no matter how many I meet, there are still so many pae out there who I've never even seen." Like any of those strange faun-look alike things that lacked antlers. He really wanted to meet one of those...but he was perfectly happy with where he was right then. Conversation with a pretty, sweet angel? What could be better? "What about you? With your mention of fishing, I would have thought the cruise might suit you better." Three brochures had magically found his house, and as such he assumed the same for everyone else. At that moment, the whistle sounded. His amber eyes flicked up. "Oh...looks like we're boarding soon..." He was a little disappointed. It probably meant he and Etana would have to part ways.

Pelagious couldn't sit still for a minute longer. HE took off for the boat, eagerly and excitedly awaiting for his turn to trail throu the forests. He didn't want to go alone. He might end up hurt or lost. Or worse, he might cut himself. Shuddering at hat thought, he all buyt skipped to the railing and waited for the rest of the pae to board the ship while simultaniously smirking at those that decided to do the trails or fly.

Delfin was following the girls. He wasn't really paying attention to where he was going but he sure was paying attention to their behinds as tey walked. Making sure to stay far enough away that said girls wouldn't slap him, he smiled to himself as he imagined what he wanted to do with those behinds he was staring so longingly at.

Shizzle shrugged at the announcement and took flight, heading for what the map said was the first checkpiont. At least, what he thought it said. He didn't know how to read a map. Noticing a small bird off to his right, he smiled. SO his friend had decided to join him after all. Calling to her, he asked her what she thought of the map. "No treasure" she called back, making Shizzle giggle. Of course she would think that. Looking back at the map, he made sure to follow it exactly, hoping ot get there in one peice and not so tired after dragging this huge backpack with him.

Applebloom jumped when a loud whistle sounded and scooted closer to the fairy who was speaking. Her little parasprite, Poma, had been resting in her hair bow until the whistle woke her up. Now the red ball of cuteness was awake and flittering around her owner. "Calm down, Poma," Applebloom murmured and tapped her shoulder for the Parasprite to perch on while she listened. Right, half an hour until the tour started. Half an hour she had to duck her brother and Rarity. Once she got on the boat it would be too late to send her home. Ha!

The Avalon fairies hosting the Back to Nature hike did not distribute maps, so it's unknown which map the Pae'il called Shizzle was following. The campsites are also not marked in a way Pae'il can notice, due to keeping the "mystery" of the jungle intact for the tour. The fairies also do not really care who is passing out the fake maps, because anyone Pae'il dumb enough to skip any proper directions where fairies are concerned, deserve their fate.

From the jungle below Shizzle, a loud "SCREEE" can be heard followed by a loud *THUMP*

Joi just went with the flow of activity. She boarded the paddle-boat when instructed to do so. She held tight to that pack, because there was something suspicious about it, but she couldn't put her mind to figuring out what it could be. Her intuition was almost as good as her mother's, so she trusted it. She'd keep her eyes open in any case.

She smiled as she pae-watched once finding a seat on the viewing deck. She noticed some couples and flirtations and some odd pae that she'd never knew existed. They must be new to the island because she'd never seen a hooved Pae before, furry or smooth. She wondered where they came from, but chose to not ask because it felt a little rude.

Faintly, off in the distance, she heard the most unsettling sounds and chill went up her spine. She lived in this jungle, there were no creatures that made that type of sound that she'd run in to.

***

A few hours later, after the boat pulled up to the bank to lay anchor and let the passengers off, Joi watched as all the winged Pae shot up in to the sky while the hooved pae and lone Naiad were left behind to hike up the trail. She also noted the fairies pulling large hand carts up the trail as well, and wondered why they didn't just teleport them up, or at worst, levitate them up. Odd. Joi flew up to the campsite to join the others, looking back only once at the others, with a small amount of pity.

Top side, there was a large campsite roped off with some warning signs on nearly every post. Joi snickered, and mumbled to herself, "They really don't want us wandering." She thought back to that sound she heard while they were still boarding, and it started to make sense. Maybe they found dinosaurs, or something worse. This forest was as unpredictable as those fairies sometimes.

The tents were set up, but the campfire and cooking station were still in the handcart, so there was no food yet. Joi's tummy grumbled as she contemplated nibbling some of her emergency rations. Skipping breakfast had been a bad idea. She located her tent, and sat down in front of it to dig through her backpack and see if there was anything in there she could taste, that wouldn't be life or death if she got lost.

Lost. How funny.

The thought made her laugh. She lived here, she knew her way around. She'd never get lost in this jungle. How hard is it to fly above the canopy to find out where you are? She laughed at the thought. She knew exactly where they were now, but maybe it was all part of the show the fairies were putting on to make this hike interesting. Joi started thinking maybe the cruise or mountain climbing would have been a more interesting challenge.

Rarity emerged slowly from behind Big Mac and blinked at Faroth, recognizing him form somewhere but she couldn't quite place her finger on it. Was it during their trip over to the tree? "You do look familiar... I'm Rarity." she said and smiled a bit, holding out her hand for him to shake, but then thought better of it. She had already made a mess of things as it were, or so to speak. "I.. am terribly sorry... about everything....." she said with a half laugh and gulped again slightly. "Thank you Faroth... and Raina, for coming to save me...... eeeven though I didn't need it." she said and glanced down at her hands, twiddling her thumbs.

When the loud whistle chimed, Rarity let out another squeal, not as loud this time as she quickly cut it off and bit her lips. No more being startled. That was enough of making a fool of yourself for today.

She listened to what was said before glancing at Faroth and Big Mac expectantly. "So we leave in 30 minutes.... eheh, probably... best to just leave this little... fiasco behind..." she gulped and tugged her hat back down over her head. She did so hope she'd get her own boat....

But by the look of things, that seemed highly unlikely.... and if they expected her to hike more, well they had another thing coming!

And come to think of it.. where had Applebloom gone? She had wanted to ask if Sweetie Bell was with her... and possibly give them both a stern talking to.

Don't use it on him, what was this dumb male telling her what to do for. She hated male demons with a passion and this one was no exception whatsoever. But he'd at least told her info she wanted, so for now at least she wasn't going to spray him.... yet.

Zee hears the call and turns to wander away with all her new possessions but somehow gets turned around in the crowd and is soon boarding the little boat with all the other pae. There was many weird pae here she didn't know of as she looked around. She wondered if she should use the spray on them but decided to keep it for those stupid little fairies.

She all but forgot about the blue demon pae who had given her the info as her eyes lit from one new sight to another and her mind plotted all the mischief she could get into as they made it to the campsite... And how to get more of this bug spray.
PostPosted: Mon Aug 19, 2013 6:33 pm

Big Mac nodded softly towards Faroth. The male did look familiar to him, but Big Mac wasn't one to remember names much outside of his family. He merely offered a smile and a hand for a shake after Rarity had introduced herself. "Big Macintosh. Er... Big Mac, for short." he stated simply.

The whistle sounded and he turned his attention towards the fairy that began to speak. Once it was clear they had finished talking and what not, he frowned a bit, noting out of the corner of his eye that Applebloom was attempting to hide from him. And though he didn't have a direct log on her location at the moment, he knew of one way to corner her.

In one swift motion, he gathered Miss Rarity's bag and collected it with her other travel bag and his own provided pack. "I'm gonna head on down to the boat, Miss Rarity. It's probably best you come along too so you can find a decent seat before the others show up." he offered, but didn't waste any time to wait for a reply. He began trudging towards where the boat lay waiting for them and stood beside the pier. Applebloom would have to come out of hiding now or risk getting left behind. It was already too late to be heading back towards the farm now... Besides, after that little bit of a prank someone had tried to pull on Miss Rarity, Big Mac wasn't about to leave her all alone on the trip either.

Celestia was all too happy to hear that it was time to leave. Nodding her head politely in the direction of Jarek and Coronus, she retrieved her bag and was sure to be among the first pae to board for a more preferable location. For her, this location was in the rear of the boat at the rim, where she could watch the trees and trails go by without too much interaction. Needed interaction. The point of the trip actually. Whatever, it probably wouldn't be a harm to her.

Not in present time anyways.

She wasn't necessarily opposed to speaking with others on the trip, she just wasn't about to initiate it herself. Man, she really needed to get over this.
