"Aw man, really? I knew I was going to have to do that," Heidi whined and slouched in her seat like Tuck had just ruined everything. But when he said he had no room for dessert she simply let out a long, mournful sigh and sat up again. No room for dessert, huh? Two could play this game. "Well..I've waited this long, I guess I can wait until our next date to a nice hotel in a foreign country for dessert." Another sigh. Such a disappointment. At Tuck's question she perked up, all of her face disappointment disappearing in an instant as she gave him a huge smile and didn't even hesitate with her answer. "Yes!" She replied eagerly, shaking her head when he worried about timing. "No! It's fine dinner discussion! I mean, I've been putting more things in your room little by little I just wasn't sure..I'd love to! Really!" Heidi giggled with delight and leaned in to kiss Tuck, putting her fork down and draping her arms over his shoulders. "I pretty much live with you anyway, it won't be much of a change at this point~."The waitress stopped by again to check on them, asking if there was anything else they wanted. Heidi turned down dessert with a polite smile and told her they were ready for the check before she cuddled up to her boyfriend again. "I'll move in on one condition." Heidi squinted. "You buy me a new pair of leggings to replace the ones you ruined."Heidi wasn't serious about it being the only thing keeping her from moving in but she was serious about him owing her leggings. She liked that pair.

Tuck snorted. Loudly. There was no way in hell he was going to let her pass on dessert. He merely gave her a look, one that said that there was no way in hell he was going to let her pass on dessert. "You promised," he reminded her in a playful tone, kind of sort of waggling his eyebrows rather lecherously at her. "Yeah, I would really like havin' you there all the time. Officially, I mean." Tuck cleared his throat. "What do you wanna do when we're full hunters? You want a house, or an apartment? I know it'd be a pain, but.. I kinna like the thought of privacy. Havin' a real place. Normal, you know?" He liked thinking about that. A normal place. Well, normal as things could be. The topic of leggings had Tuck squinting right back at Heidi. "Fine. I'll get you a new pair - or three - if you promise never to bring that up again." Yeah, it hadn't been one of his finer moments, okay?

"And I intend on keeping that promise," Heidi reminded Tuck right back. Whoa. Full hunter plans already? Heidi looked very surprised by the question, actually feeling pretty unsure how to answer. It wasn't that she didn't trust they would still be together even then, because she was very confident that nothing could get her to ever leave Tuck, it was more that whoa he was really planning ahead. So he wanted a house then? She didn't..actually have a preference... "Uh..it wasn't something I'd thought about yet. I'd be fine with anything, really." Heidi shrugged. It wasn't the most helpful answer but it was the best she had. She was more than happy to plan their future! It just wasn't something she had thought about until she realized they did have one together, the happiest realization ever. "Which would you prefer? A house?" Houses were more private than apartments, right? Man. That was a lot of space. She'd never lived on her own before Deus, her own dorm had been just enough space. Heidi remained stonefaced as Tuck squinted at her, at least until he offered her three pairs. She grinned. Victory. "Three pairs and I won't ever bring up how you wore my favorite happy ice creams leggings ever again. Do I get to pick them?"

"I think a house would be nice. Private. Do they got real kitchens in them houses? I might learn to cook if that was the case. I'unno. Then again, I think havin' an apartment wouldn't be so bad, neither, especially if they got real kitchens in them." Tuck was thoughtfully watching the bussers and wait staff do their work. He scratched his jaw as he glanced over at Heidi. "I guess we got plenty of time to figure it out. Ain't even intermediate yet." He grinned wryly, though narrowed his eyes at the talk of the leggings. "I'll buy you whatever you want, an' not even because I ruined your leggings. I'll do it because I love you an' I wanna make you happy. New leggings gonna make you happy, you gonna get new leggings. I still got most of my money left, ain't spent too much of it. You wanna spend all of it on leggings, you can."

Heidi shrugged. She honestly had no idea what the houses were like, she'd never been to that area of the island before. Maybe after their date they could go check it out and see what everything over there was like. But he was right, they still had a lot of time to figure things out. "Oooh? You'll start cooking if we have a real kitchen?" Heidi grinned. "I dunno, I think I could start teaching you now if you wanted. Evan, too. Oooh, and then you could cook dinner for us sometimes." This sounded like the best idea ever. He continued on to clarify why he would buy her new leggings with such conviction. Heidi just stared. He would just..buy anything she wanted? Anything at all? Because he loved her and wanted her to be happy. She couldn't help but smile. "Three pairs, no more, no less. You don't need to buy me things to make me happy, Tuck. Just being with you is more than enough, trust me." She had mostly been joking originally, now she was happy he wanted to buy her something. Heidi wasn't demanding, she wouldn't ask for or take advantage of Tuck's generosity, but it was nice to have someone eager to shower her with gifts even if she wouldn't be asking for them often. The waitress returned with their bill and Heidi held her hand out to Tuck. "Can I have my wallet, please~?" He wasn't the only one who wanted to buy things to make the person they loved happy.

"I would try an' learn," Tuck emphasized with a grin, looking thoughtful. "But it would be nice to cook for you sometimes." Women liked that s**t, didn't they? He was pretty secure in his romance game; Heidi never seemed disappointed, even if they were dancing to horrible music on the roof of the life labs.
Tuck chuckled softly at the topic of leggings. "I know I don't, but buyin' things for you makes me happy, too." His train of thought immediately moved to the box waiting for them at the hotel, and his grin grew a little naughty. He didn't speak further on the topic as he rocked to the left in order to remove Heidi's wallet from his back pocket.
"You ain't gotta buy things for me to make me happy, either," he said quietly, handing her wallet to her. Tuck was pretty sure Heidi already knew it, but he wanted to give voice to his thoughts, as well.

"Or we could cook together, too. That'd be fun," Heidi suggested with a big smile. She actually really liked that idea, even if he wasn't the best at it, it wasn't as if she herself was some kind of professional chef. She just knew how to follow directions and measure things was all. It wasn't very hard. It would just be fun to do together.
She raised a brow and squinted slightly at Tuck when she noticed his grin change just slightly. What was that look? She didn't say anything for now, simply shifting to allow Tuck to get her wallet for her. Heidi took it, taking out her debit card and offering it to the waitress with their bill.
"I know. But everything this weekend is my birthday present to you," she told him cheerfully. "So it's my treat." Heidi couldn't splurge like this all the time, but she was finding this fun. Every now and then would be okay. She waited for the waitress to return, signing anything that needed signing. After being wished a good night she turned to Tuck with a smile, squeezing his hand.
"Ready to go back?"

"Cooking together would be kinna fun, probably," Tuck returned the gentle squeeze of Heidi's hand with one of his own, rising to his feet before lightly tugging her to hers.
"I'm ready if you are. You wanna go straight back, or there somewhere else you wanna go?"
That grin of his got a little more wicked as he ushered Heidi out of the restaurant, nabbing her jacket on the way out.

Heidi was quiet for a long minute as she seriously considered her answer. She had wanted to go out, walk through the city at night, tell him how much she loved him...but that had been when it would've been the first time she said she loved him.
They did have to walk back to the hotel anyway..they could take a scenic route or something.
"We can head back now," she finally answered, taking her jacket from Tuck to put it on. Heidi then took his hand again, lacing her fingers between his and squeezing once. "I want to know what's in that box."
She started walking after that, idly swinging their hands between them.

She wanted to see what was in the box, and Tuck wanted her to see what was in the box - and more than that, he wanted her to wear what was in the box. It was a gift for her, sure; but more than that, it was a gift for him. Win-win, as far as Tuck was concerned.
Was his pace a little quick as they made their way back to the ********.

Heidi did notice Tuck's pace was quick. His strides were longer than hers and though she didn't complain about it she did find herself having to hurry a little more to keep up with him. It was funny to her. When they finally made it back to the hotel she laughed. "You're in a hurry!" Heidi teased, grinning up at her boyfriend. Next would come the longest wait. The elevator. "Can I know what's in the box now~?"

"Not yet. We get back to the room, you can look." For a split second Tuck wished they were normal people on a normal date and not hunters sharing their headspace with another entity. He wanted to be selfish with the rest of the evening, even if nothing happened. He couldn't help the way he felt, but the surge of possession was strong as he drew her into the elevator and pushed the button to their floor. "But while we're alone you can tell me what you think it is." Tuck drew Heidi into his arms and buried his face against her neck, moving the collar of her jacket away from the smooth column of her throat before he pressed a kiss to her collarbone.

What did she think it was? She had a guess considering the 'dessert' metaphor they had been using, but she didn't know for sure. Heidi giggled as she was pulled into the elevator and into Tuck's arms, her hands settling on his hips for now and she tilted her head back to let him get at her neck. She made a happy little noise when he kissed her collarbone. "You said it's for dessert, right?" This was good. This was okay. Even if they were in an elevator it was something more private then the middle of the restaurant had been.
Her thumbs found the bottom hem of his shirt and nudged it out of the way so her fingers could brush the skin underneath, lightly tickling her fingers up Tuck's sides. "And it's something I'm doing for you?" Heidi just wanted to make sure she had her facts straight before she made her guess.

"Dessert, yeah."
He was grinning against her jaw, pressing little kisses here and there - the corner of her lips, the line of her jaw, beneath her ear.
"Dessert."
Riiiiiiight.
Tuck grunted at the tickling and took a second to glance up at the display that showed their current floor.
"Mmhm. If you want to. I mean, I was hopin' you'd want to, but if you don't then that's fine too."
They were only a few floors out. He forced himself to ease up, just a little.

"Is it..something I have to wear?" Heidi asked quietly, her breath catching as he kissed near her ear. Her hands traveled up until she felt his abs, closing her eyes and turning her head to try and catch Tuck's mouth for a kiss.
Again he was giving her the option of backing out if it made her uncomfortable. Tuck really was the best. Heidi drew her hands away only so she could reach up and wrap her arms around his neck, pulling herself up so he didn't have to bend down anymore. "I'll try it, if I don't like it I'll just do something else for you," she finally said, nuzzling her face against Tuck's cheek.
