Lanakirene and Black Viath - damage HP: 37 Agility: +2 -----
But it was that split-second, that brief moment where both dragon and rider were absorbed in the act of refueling on firestone, when the Thread hit. searing Viath's back, making the black screech in pain. He blinked between immediately, no guidance from his rider, reappearing lower, in perfect formation.
Are you all right?
It hurts. Viath rumbled unhappily, testing his wings. But I'll live. Can't exactly bow out because of a little owie.
My brave boy.
And they braced themselves again.

Etasha and Coryxoth // Burn Post
Okay, Ryx. Second wave. I know you can do this.
She could feel his muscles quiver under her hand, along with the swift steady beat of his wings. When the second round of Thread began to descend Coryxoth shot forward, moving slightly out of formation in his eagerness to make up for his lackluster performance before.
With a tremendous jet of fire he flamed two small clumps in rapid succession, wheeling tightly around to return to his original place.

Etasha and Coryxoth // Damage Post
A stray clump of Thread spiraled towards them, but just before it struck Coryxoth's wing, the black pulled into a sharp dive, taking him out of harm's way. Unfortunately, it also took him even further out of formation.
Let's land and get refueled, Etasha told him. They were running low on firestone anyway, and it would cover for the black's misstep.

Z'fer & Calanoth // Burn Post
Full of fuel and ready to go, Calanoth roared as he flamed at a falling clump. There were still very few injuries so far, minor scores but nothing too serious. Z'fer could fret about it, or he could take pride in their wing's training and not worry.
For now, the latter. He was feeling good.

S’dekai and Pioth // Burn Post
Everyone knew when Thread was falling. No dragon worth their hide could fail to realize when the silver filaments were in the sky, the eternal enemy of all dragonkind. Even a bronzepair stationed at the Hold turned their eyes to the sky in silent contemplation.
Are you sure this is wise? Pioth's straps were already on; the two of them had been preparing at last to return to Natai. But S'dekai lingered, looking up at the rising wings. Trine had many wounded riders; he'd met more than a few of them while he was locked up in the cells in the stonebound ring at Benden.
Perhaps there was a small thing that he could do to repay them for their hospitality in permitting him to remain unimpeded.
Reaching out to Tyeth, Pioth contacted the wingleader's dragon mentally as the little bronze took up position in the sky. S'dekai and Pioth here, offering our assistance. We'll be departing as soon as the Fall ends, but in the meantime, consider this our form of thanks.

S’dekai and Pioth // Damage Post
Whoa! Careful there, big fella!
Apparently Trine formations were different from Malvren formations. Things that he did not know! Pioth stayed well out of the way of the other dragons, enough so that their presence wouldn't foul up anyone else's performance... but it did put him in the way of a nasty clump of Thread, and with the bronze still recovering he wasn't fast enough to evade.
Blinking between, Pioth managed to shake off the damage, but he still had a fresh score across one wing.

V'lay and Blue Vinath - burn post HP: 43 Agility: +2 -----
The stranger bronze in their midst elicited half a snarl from Vinath - one that was abruptly curtailed as he realized which stranger bronze it was - the one whose rider had been trapped with His, the one who had been sent to Trine after his own allies had turned on him. Right. He would deal with Pioth at another time, then.
Tucking his wings, he dove sharply after a clump of Thread, searing nearly all of it while V'lay resolutely watched the sky, checking for disaster from above.

V'lay and Blue Vinath - damage HP: 36 Agility: +2 -----
Vinath - incoming!
The call came too late for Vinath to move out of the way when the Thread hit them, and V'lay only barely managed to twist his own body clear, helped by the way Vinath contorted himself in order to keep the Thread from searing straight through riding straps.
It hurt. Oh, it hurt. Thread searing straight into Vinath's wing membrane, sending the blue snarling between - the cold dousing some of his pain. When he returned to the field, he was furious, snapping his head this way and that, looking for a chance to do more damage.
Leaning down close to his neck, V'lay closed his eyes, breathing hard. We're low on firestone. And...my ribs hurt.
Down?
As good a time as ever.

O'thor and Silver Adamanth HP: 60 Dmg Mod: -1 Thread Burned: 1 Scored: No. Current Thread: 107-1=106
In the interlude, all wings had Weyrlings or riders popping in and out delivering firestone. The Greens and Blues who were exhausted from the first wave switched out with those waiting for their turns, giving new life to the wings before it became imperative for them to have it. For O'thor and Adamanth, it meant the chance to breathe and mentally prepared themselves for the next onslaught-- a one-wave Threadfall was almost unheard of, after all.
This time, the wings above and ahead of them managed to burn a goodly amount of the initial wave away before it reached the pair. Adamanth blew a quick, brief flame to take out a few lingering strands, but that was all that was required in their first moments.

Lanakirene and Black Viath - burn post HP: 37 Agility: +2 -----
Shards, they were understaffed. That was what it came down to - too many injured dragons, too many injured riders - everyone was below their top game. There was a Malvren bronze - a Malvren bronze - flying Thread with them, and though La recognized the dragon as a prisoner of Trine's whose own allies had turned on him, it didn't make her feel better. Trine needed Malvren dragons to help them in Threadfall. Faranth, let none of the riders here today be spies.
Viath snorted dismissively at his rider's worry, coughing a fireball at Thread as it fluttered almost leisurely past him.

Lanakirene and Black Viath - damage HP: 32 Agility: +2 -----
They were getting creamed.
Viath squalled as another few strands of Thread hit his tail, flashing between and returning a moment later, with a black dragon's precision, exactly where he had been - no formation broken. Not as bad as the last hit had been, but it stung - so did his neck.
Vee...
This is why I Impressed a dragonhealer, Lanakirene. The black's wry humor made Lanakirene's heart twist with guilt, but her dragon touched her mind with affection. We're fine, old girl.
I'm not old.
I know.

J'nes and brown Hatteth - burn post HP: 44/53 Agility: +1 Thread: 102/171
There was a moment's rest as the sky was cleared of Thread. long enough for everyone to stretch and refuel. Then, all too soon, another wave of silvery strands descended.
The Threadfall was thin yet, only a singe stray Thread heading for Hatteth. He turned and flamed it neatly, needing only a bare puff of flame to char it away. No more fell near them as of yet, but he didn't stray from his place in formation to look for more. It would come to him soon enough, and he knew his job.

N'mol and Bronze Tyeth HP: 73 Dmg Mod: -3 Thread Burned 8+5=13 Scored: No. Current Thread: 102-13=89
Everyone has had their firestone replenished, Tyeth announced. N'mol nodded.
Good. Injuries?
None serious enough for the pair to leave. Some minor scoring.
N'mol nodded mostly to himself and instinctively adjusted his hold and positioning on Tyeth's back as his dragon maneuvered easily out of the way of several clumps of Thread and proceeded to sear them from the sky as he went. The pair drifted back into place, N'mol again adjusting the lean of his body and his grip on the riding straps.
Instruct the Blueriders at the far right to tighten up their formation. This is real Fall, not a drill.
Tyeth rumbled agreement and let out another spray of fire before he passed N'mol's instructions along with a crisp voice. There was a pause, and then Tyeth stated,
Pioth and His come. They say they will join the wing for this Fall and aid in the fight as thanks, but will be gone after.
While Tyeth focused on Threadfighting, N'mol turned his head, finally picking out the Bronze amid his other riders. He wasn't familiar with Pioth, or his rider, so he had to assume this was a rider from Malvren-- one of those who stayed behind with the Revolutionaries or one who was stationed at a Hold. Or with the new Goldrider who refused to take her duties seriously.
As N'mol watched, Pioth was forced to between and back, unfamiliar as he was with the new wing formations.
His allegiances aside, he came to aid them when Thread fell. That was honorable and it placed a good mark in N'mol's book for the rider, whatever his allegiance.
Thank him, Tyeth. Let him know we appreciate the extra flame.
Pioth, we appreciate the extra wings and flame during Fall. Your aid will not be forgotten. Thank you. We should not need to change formation, barring any shift in Thread itself. The form we take now will stand to the end. Should we change, I will give you further instructions.
