Cyras Sylaria

Architect of Thought

"You should clear your mind of idle thoughts..."

As the young woman began getting offended, Cyras' eyes rolled a bit. At least she was somewhat polite about it, choosing to attack his choices rather than him personally. However, her little show of what he guessed was supposed to be power was far from intimidating, and he simply raised an eyebrow at her. "Because, my dear girl. I am a hopeless optimist, and I still firmly believe that at least one person in this room has one thing to teach me. Should I be able to learn that one thing from that one person, dealing with this idiot of a teacher will be completely worth it. Or do the people of this realm not value knowledge?" He asked, frowning slightly. He recognized the bow as mockery, but it was in good taste; he even found it humorous, and so was not angered. Her panther was a laughably pathetic entity compared to the unspeakable horrors Cyras had faced in his own time; there was nothing in this room that posed even the smallest of threats to him. That wasn't to say those in the classroom weren't powerful; far from it. The inhabitants of this class were all certainly strong in their own right. But Cyras had been on their level back when he was a very young child, before he'd gained control over his powers. Now that he was approaching compete mastery of the arcane arts, and had defeated the unimaginably powerful creatures that spawned in the heart of the Void, a mortal girl and her magical alter-ego wasn't exactly something to be feared.

"... If you can't manage that, I suppose I'll have to do it for you."

"There are people here who value knowledge. Me among them. Though I most likely can't compare with the knowledge you know of; I may know things you don't simply from experience that you don't have." I said honestly. I lifted my head proudly and said "I have the knowledge to learn and understand others cause I can see and feel their feelings.... it's called sympathy." I mumble as I went on "Good prince, have you ever cared to understand others instead of expanding your own knowledge of things. If you had then you might have had more friends growing up instead of having people thinking that you high and mighty cause you hold greater magic." I softly said as I thought of what it is that made him feel like he had to be smarter and more superior to others. Or was it cause he simply was that smart that he feels he needs someone to teach something new to him just so he can have a purpose instead of a boring lifestyle where now new knowledge can be gained?

Cyras Sylaria

Architect of Thought

"You should clear your mind of idle thoughts..."

"You assume much," Cyras said with a frown, his arms crossing against his chest. "Sympathy is a weak connection, feeling pity for others that refuse to help themselves. Empathy is a true understanding of the others' emotions. You think I could have a title like the Architect of Thought and not understand people?" He smirked at that, before frowning once more. "You know nothing of me, girl. Don't assume that you are more socially inclined simply because I am intellectually inclined, or royalty. To imagine that my life was spent being waited on hand and foot would be to ignore the vast majority of my life. While it is true that I spent quite a bit of time studying, that was to ensure that I was good enough to survive, and ensure the survival of my brethren. You are right on one point only; I had no friends. I had family, brothers and sisters at arms. What know you of comradeship, of the bonds forged in the flames of war? Can you look me in the eye and tell me you understand me and my loss, emotionally? You who think you've lost everything; where are your people? Your lands? A few miles away, or perhaps on the other side of the globe? But they still exist. Me and mine... Void take you, I'm all that's left. Can you understand that? There is naught of G'ralthul but me." He said, stepping towards the girl again. As ever, his placid countenance was set in stone; his poker face was unreadable. But recalling his brothers and sisters at arms, a pang of sadness struck his heart; a loneliness that these fools knew nothing of. The people who had saved him countless times, and he the favor returned; gods only knew how far away he was from them, if they even still existed. Then she commented on his having people thinking he was high and mighty because he held greater magic, and laughed. Out loud. It was an almost musical sound, ringing through the air lyrically for a moment before he straightened. "You know nothing of my people. I was not high and mighty; I was an equal amongst them, as inclined as the next to master my arts. And no one can hold magic any more than they can the air; it flows, as the air does, around us constantly. We simply channel it, give it form and shape it to our will. I was not considered mighty because of my power; I was considered mighty because of my will."

Hearing him i wondered if ever really knew people or just assumed things and said that i understood. "No, i have no idea what it's like to have brothers and sisters of arms. My father did though until he died in battle with them. As for the loss i have lost my village. There were others that survive, i'm sure any way. Our village was burned to the ground. I still do not of your kind of loss... i can go back but it'll be burned to the ground most likely." i mumble feeling embarrassed for calling him high and mighty. "I'm sorry, i really don't know anything about you it seems." i sigh and lowered my head down

Devral looked back at the girl as she gazed at him then looked to Cyras and his eyes narrowed. A mind reader? In that instant he emptied his mind and threw up the dark void that served as the wall to protect his mind. He listened to the mans words and aparently the only person here that was not an a** was the girl.

He grunted and mumbled silently to himself "At least you knew your people." He snorted then watched him carefully.

I look at Devral and saw his rather sour look. So i guess i understood him wrong as well? i ponder and felt a little sad that i was just being a pain to every one. i sigh as i gazed at my classmates and teacher. "I have a bad habit of trying to understand things that i don't understand." I sigh and look down at the floor.

Cyras Sylaria

Architect of Thought

"You should clear your mind of idle thoughts..."

Cyras frowned at the darker student, eyebrow raised as he commented on the conversation. He paused, shaking his head and frowning. "One cannot lose what one has never had. You suffer no loss from not knowing your people; you are simply ignorant to their existence, and ignorance is bliss- you can hold hope that they are out there, somewhere. Unfortunately, I am well aware of what has become of my people and my home. There is nothing left. Literally nothing, not even the smallest grain of sand. Aside from me, the entirety of G'ralthul has been swallowed by the Void." He sighed at that, staring at the man with the same cold, calculating gaze that he held constantly. When the panther-girl commented on her bad habit, Cyras shook his head and stepped towards her, pulling his hood off of his head for the first time since entering. His icy gaze faltered for just a moment, revealing a more understanding look, and he even offered a genuine, albeit small, smile. There were intricate blue lines that arced across his face like a mix between veins and tattoos, and they pulsed a soft blue light in tandem with his heartbeat. "Trying to understand anything is never a bad habit. Assuming is, but understanding?" He shook his head. "Understanding is the key to existing."

Devral was silent a long time, then he began to laugh maliciously, when he could breath again and looked at Cyras. "Hope they are out there? The only thing I hope for is their slow and painful deaths!" He turned away to find a place somewhere on the ground to sit and leaned against the wall and stared at the ground, though he made sure he could still see everyone.

Cyras Sylaria

Architect of Thought

"You should clear your mind of idle thoughts..."

"Those who seek death often find it," Cyras warned the dark student with a frown, arms still crossed over his chest. "Though more often than not, they find it in forms other than what they hoped for." In all honesty, hoping for any sort of death was a foreign concept to Cyras' mind; even more so when that death was wished upon perfect strangers, whether or not those same strangers were the boy's own people. At this point it basically seemed like the boy was trying too hard to be a hardass sadist troublemaking a**, but again the concept of causing trouble in the classroom- for literally no reason- was again foreign to Cyras. He simply shrugged, diverting his attention back to the teacher. He shook his head at the man's question, a small smirk appearing on his face. "I am a Prince. To hide such a large part of who I am would be an injustice to myself, and omission of such a truth would be lying to you. I am not a liar, nor am I one to support any form of injustice; therefore, I revealed myself as royalty. I did, however, request treatment; not based on my status as royalty, but based instead on my power and skill. Considering both of these are far surpassing what I've seen demonstrated in the class, I'm still curious as to what this class has to offer me, if anything at all."

I looked at the prince's glowing lines and his slightly charming smile. I then ponder that maybe he wasn't as bad as he seemed. Your skin reminds of the time cousin got mad. His power turned his veins to ice blue. Much like yours." I gazed at Devral and chuckle a little at his words. "You also remind me of my cousin when he was younger... actually both of you are very similar to my cousin.... He knew his family but no longer has them. He hates his brother and wishes his father would rot in hell. Though he never shows it." I sadly lower my head at the thought of Carter. He never allowed any one in his heart. He never allowed himself to feel anything after his last rage. I only knew cause I just so happen to be with him at the time he was mumbling like a madman about wanting his father dead.

I walk up to the teacher and gazed at the large object with caution. What could we be doing? I ponder as I allowed my panther senses to take over. My smell, hearing, and sight became sharper as I awaited for the teacher's next instructions.

User ImageDevral thought of responding to the Prince, but thought better of it and figured it would just be a waste of energy. His royal highness should learn that things are different here than where ever the hell he came from. He snorted quietly, then looked up as the teacher was moving once more and pulled a box out of a bag that was to small for it. Magic. Then called Eira up and they all waited to see what would happen next.
