Shen zoomed up snatching her up by the scruff of her clothes and he ran straight up the wall. his feet tore up the stone leaving small imprints of fire as he quickly climbed up the massive wall. passing over the top he leaped off and looked at her a little unsure "...if you cant survive a fall from this height then just hold onto me....if you can...just strike at whatever you see down below..."as he mentioned. down below several things could be seen not to mention actual living beings. there seemed to be a few monks about, but their energy had long since been twisted and evil. but the thing that caught their attention most was in the far corner there was a massive amount of dark youkai energy surrounding a power ball of light energy. the center could not be felt but it would not be hard to tell by how shen was looking at it. what they came for was inside the ball of light. though perhaps more.

"I-I told you! I am-- A CELESTIAL!"
Despite her boasting, Lumine clung to Shen's arm. She could see there were dozens more of the creatures inside. Some of them weren't creature like the ones in the forest, and seemed to retain certain amounts of their humanity... Would it be right to just kill them?
Lumine was about to voice this concern to Shen when she looked up, noticing his gaze fixed on something. She followed the direction he was looking, finding the source of his distraction; the strange bubble of energy that had amassed in the far corner of the fortress.
"Hey! There! Over there!" She shouted, pointing, "I bet there's something cool in there! Let's go check it out!"

"that is where my daughter is.....but that energy and that magic is not something that belongs to an oni..."he glanced at all the monks before him. most had become malformed and beastly but to the best of his senses. they were all still alive some how. "...I cannot kill them....but I will assist you as you do....these men....from the looks of it....they are just draining or eating youkai for power...that bubble must be someone's safe haven.....though if its STILL up.....it must mean that whomever put it up and is still inside has been inside for a VERY long time"

Lumine climbed up Shen's frame, coming to stand on the giant's shoulders.
"Put those legs of yours to work and get hopin'!! If you think that's your daughter then let's go already! There's no point wasting time on small fries like them!"
In truth, Lumine had no desire to fight humans, corrupted or not. Heroes don't kill people, especially humans.

he smirked "exactly like her...."he leaped through the air tearing into the ground with his feet every time they two met until he was there at the bubbled. he twirled about knocking all the monks out with a swift strike to their necks then looking up at the golden glow of the bubble "....I dont understand how this thing has been up for so damned long"

Lumine hopped off Shen's shoulder after he had cleared a path. She approached the bubble and peered inside, holding hands over her eyes.
"...I can't see anything inside of it! Are you sure she's in there?"
She took a step back, giving herself ample room to draw her sword. She held the blade firmly, planting her feet in a practiced stance. Master Kazuko taught her this!
"Let's see what treasure's inside~! HII-YAH!"
The Celestial brought her sword high above her head, then swung downward with all her might, her blow aimed directly for the bubble's surface...

the bubble gave way even before her sword contacted it, within there was a mass of energy but it quickly vanished as one very elderly monk and one small girl with horns plopped down. the child seemed extremely confused and shocked though the very old monk seemed relieved and strangely about to die. shen himself was very busy knocking out all the mutated monks knocking them about but making sure not to kill any of them

Lumine stumbled forward as her blow first met with nothing, her sword then biting into the ground. She looked up in awe as the two figures fell out of the bubble. As they fell, Lumine grabbed onto the small girl, as she happened to be in her path. She cradled the child as her eyes fell onto the old man; it seemed it didn't have much longer in this world.
"Uh... h-hey there, kiddo--" Lumine set the girl down in front of her, then took up her sword again.
"Ah-- Shen! Yo! I think we found her!"

shen was already on the other side of the compound knocking heads and throwing corrupt monks around. the child however looked up t her extremely confused "....huh?....wh...where is everyone?....what happened? this place is scary" the old monk struggled to one knee "....y..you....are of the celestials?..we have been waiting rescue....for almost 80 years....." he coughed and struggled hardly able to even keep his body off the ground "...my master...and my brother and I...were the only ones to object when the others began eating the demon's powers.....do not mind the child.....she wil be very confused for a while"

"Ei--Eighty years?!" Lumine blinked, then went over to the man's side.
"What happened here? Why did people start consuming demon powers?! That's just stupid!"
Lumine removed the capelet from her shoulders by untying the ribbon from her chest, then took the article, balled it up and placed it under the old man's head.
"Don't worry, I got this covered! I can protect the girl, and my sidekick is off keeping the others occupied. I'll get her outside and then I'll come back for you, okay?"

"They desired power....and hated youkai....so they simply began catching them....and eating their bodies...this girl....is of a powerful bloodline...they wanted to raise her up and consume her as well....but we would not have that....so we put a magical shield around her....created a happy world for her to live in....though.....you have finally arrived...and now...I.....I can finally rest......I can finally die.....without failing my master...." he smiled weakly and his eyes drifted shut. unclear of if he had died or if he simply fell asleep. the girl still confused looked about. her horns were just like Shen's. "...eeeek!....theres scary people!" she dove for cover holding onto Lumine's leg. in the far distance shen was still wiping the walls with all the monks trying very hard not to kill any of them

"Wh-What are you talking about? Hey, mister! Mister! ..." Lumine took the old man's shoulder, shaking lightly, then ceased, saying a small prayer.
The small girl attaching to the Celestial's leg broke her from her concentration, returning her thoughts to the matter at hand. Lumine shifted and picked her up as she rose, turning to avert the Oni's eyes from the recently deceased.
"Hey, don't worry kid! Your father and I have come to rescue you! My name is Lumine, and I'm a hero! What's yours?" As she spoke, Lumine drew her sword and tried to move away from the site, cradling the oni child with one arm and ducking behind the cover of a building nearby. The echoes of Shen's assault could be heard in the distance, but that didn't stop the stragglers from hunting the Celestial with a child in tow...

the small oni girl looked up in almost awe "....Im.....mara......bu....what do you mean?...I have a daddy?...and...what is going on?....why is everyone fighting?" Shen's roar could be heard as malformed monks flew over head from being thrown head first through the air

"People are fighting 'cause there's lots of monsters running around! A few humans too, but they're evil ones."
Lumine peeked around the corner of the building, surveying the area. It seemed what stragglers were left were too preoccupied by the rampaging Oni in the distance.
"I think your papa's lost his mind, though. I haven't been able to talk to him since we got here, but whatever, I gotta get you outta here and to someplace safe!"
With the half-oni still in her arms, Lumine ducked in and around this or that building, trying to either find a way out, or at least find Shen...

Shen landed right in front of her and scooped them both up, leaping at top speeds foot first through trees and walls "....we are almost free"the little half Oni girl just screamed like crazy as she flew through the air with them
