Heidi was smiling when the kiss ended, her fingers drumming all against Tuck's back. "You're right, I am spoiling you. I think I've kissed you more today than any other day," she giggled. She wasn't bothered by the silence, it was actually pretty comfortable. Heidi was content in Tuck's arms, being held against him and relaxing in the quiet tranquility of the lake area around them; they would really have to thank that hunter for the tip to come to this lake specifically. The compliment made her blush. He was too sweet. "You're pretty handsome yourself," Heidi told Tuck with a shy smile. "And sweet, and thoughtful, and funny, and a whole bunch of other things that translate to: you're awesome." she leaned in to nuzzle her face against his cheek. He really was the best. The absolute best. He made her feel like a girl, a desirable girl, not just a bro who wanted to do bro things and didn't ever want to just relax and be a girl.

Tuck chuckled and tilted his head so that he could kiss her neck. "Now you're really spoilin' me, all this talk gonna go to my head." He let out a low hum against her shoulder, a thoughtful sound that came an instant before he said, "I wanna know everythin' about you, you know? An' I wanna tell you everythin' about me, too. Even the bad stuff." Tuck rubbed his chin against her shoulder. She was so soft. "An' the scary stuff. I don't mean now, just. In general." He cleared his throat. "You kinna make me crazy, I don't know if you know it."

There was a curious look on her face as she tilted her head to let Tuck get at her neck, the feel of his lips kissing her skin making her shiver. That was new. "Yeah well, it's true...you should just spoil me right back though," Heidi told him with a grin. "Youuuu could start by kissing me like that again?" Just one more. That was all she wanted.
His words came almost as a surprise to her. "Of course." Heidi agreed easily, her hands moving to rub his shoulders. This had been a very good idea. "Ask me anything, really. I want to know everything about you, too." What bad stuff could he possibly have? He was human, humans were flawed, it was just a thing that made them different from one another.
"Crazy?" Heidi giggled. "Crazy how? Do I touch and kiss you too much or something?"

Tuck obliged immediately with the kiss, but he didn't stop at one. He kissed the curve of her neck once more, pressing his palms flat against her lower back. "I want to know your favorite color. Your favorite flower. Your favorite ice cream. What's your favorite perfume? I wanna know what makes you laugh - aside from tickles," he grinned to himself and kissed Heidi just below her ear. His voice grew soft, a rough edge to his words. "An' I want to know what makes you cry. What scares you. What's your biggest fear. I don't need to know now, these are just things you make me wonder." Tuck nuzzled the curve of her ear with his nose before trailing his attention down along the curve of her jaw to her chin, and then up to her lips where he pressed a kiss against her mouth. "You make me crazy by bein' you. You can never touch me or kiss me enough, an' I mean it - but you make me crazy doin' that, too. It's a good crazy."

The first kiss got Tuck a smile, but the second made her giggle. It tickled. "My favorite color is pink," Heidi answered. She rubbed circles against his neck with her thumbs, closing her eyes and making a happy little noise. "My favorite flower is daffodils, my favorite ice cream is chocolate, any variation of it really." These were easy questions. Simple little things she could answer without any thought. "I've never had a favorite perfume. I don't really wear it." She shrugged. As for what made her laugh..lots of things did. "What's your favorite ice crea--" The kiss by her ear made her breath hitch. He was kissing her a lot, a lot more than she expected. Heidi wasn't used to kisses in places that weren't her face.
Her eyes opened wide as Tuck continued, her gaze turning to Tuck as best as it could from her angle. He really did want to know everything. "..Will you tell me about your insomnia sometime, then?" Heidi asked quietly, turning her head to kiss his temple. It worried her. He had said nightmares but what nightmares could be so intense that he couldn't sleep? He did seem to sleep just fine when she was with him.
Heidi's breath hitched again as Tuck's lips traveled over her skin, her grasp on his shoulders tightening. She returned the kiss with a bit more eagerness than she meant to give. He was driving her crazy now. Tuck was too good at this, she didn't know what she was doing at all.
This cold water wasn't helping anymore. "I think I like good crazy," Heidi grinned, giving Tuck another kiss.
Matilda coughed. Didst thou not wish for a swim?
Suddenly Heidi was giggling. "Matilda says we're not swimming." I think.

Pink, daffodils, chocolate, no perfume. He was making mental notes. Little things that were important to remember.
Tuck heard that hitch in her breath and he paused, half-tempted to try it again just to hear the reaction once more. He didn't, though, as her following question gave him pause.
"I will. Not today, it ain't a topic for happy times, an' this is a happy time. Later, though, when I ain't so distracted by you." He chuckled and loosened his grip on Heidi so that she could float free if she wished. That eager press of her lips to his, though... it made it difficult for him to let go of her.
"Matilda's right, I suppose we ain't doin' much swimmin'. She's watchin' out for you, I think."
Herryk wasn't watching out for anyone except himself, and the weapon shifted restlessly as Tuck loosened his grip on Heidi.
"You gonna burn if we stay in the sun long? I don't want anything happenin' to that pretty skin, so if you gonna burn we should hit the shade soon."

Heidi gave a nod at his answer. She didn't figure it would be something be explained today, it wasn't fun date material. But she couldn't help but grin when he said she distracted him. Damn right! Heidi drifted back when she was let go, treading water near Tuck and letting herself sink enough to blow bubbles in the water but still see over the surface. Watching out for her? Maybe. Matilda did say something this morning. There was a feeling of smugness coming from the weapon that had Heidi turning her eyes up toward Matilda's totem with a curious look. And then Tuck reminded her of something very important. "...I do burn." She had applied sunscreen before she met up with him, and she did bring it with her, but how long had it been? Was it even water proof? It was something she had just found and been told she could have. Heidi didn't imagine sunscreen being bought in bulk would be the highest quality. "We can find shade soon, yeah." Heidi touched her face, checking her cheeks and the bridge of her nose. It didn't hurt to touch and it was kind of difficult to tell if her face was warm because of Tuck or because of the sun. She lifted her braid to check her shoulder. Hm..it looked okay. "We can find shade now if you want, dry off and talk. There's still food we haven't eaten." Though despite this suggestion she did swim in lazy circles on her back, watching Tuck as best as she could from the angle she was at. "Keep calling me pretty and it's going to go to my head~." Heidi teased, intentionally echoing Tuck's words from earlier.

"You deserve to be called pretty is all I'm sayin'." He paused for a second and then quickly amended, "You deserve to be called pretty by me is all I'm sayin'." Tuck wasn't going to apologize for calling her pretty. He wasn't the type of guy to get all poetic about it or anything, but if he felt like calling her pretty or beautiful or gorgeous, well, he was going to do it because she was. Tuck suddenly disappeared under the water only to appear moments later in front of Heidi, and in the next instant he was hefting her up in his arms. One arm beneath her knees, the other braced against her back. His feet were solid on the ground, and water sluiced off the both of them as he moved from the water to the grassy spot they'd vacated. Thankfully it was in the shade thanks to a thick, knobby tree. "Ain't takin' any chances on you burnin'. Your nose already looks a little pink." He kissed said spot before carefully lowering her to the thick carpet of mossy grass. Tuck settled himself behind her so that she could lean against him if she wanted, and he pressed an absent kiss to the back of her neck before reaching for a few pieces of fruit.

Heidi squealed as she was suddenly picked up, her arms quickly moving to wrap around Tuck's neck. He wasn't going to drop her back in, right? Not that she would mind right now like she had when he had first thrown her in but she was still glad to see him carrying her out. She put her head on his shoulder and closed her eyes. It just kept getting better and better.
"How do you know I'm not just blushing again? Starting to think you're gonna make me just do that permanently're something." Though Heidi did know it was true, she was starting to get pink in some places. Her shoulders, chest and face mostly. She cuddled close against Tuck as he set her down, shivering when he kissed her neck again. "That feels good." Heidi admitted with a shy smile before she reached for a sandwich and a bottle of water. For a moment she considered asking where else he could kiss her until she realized what kind of implication could be misunderstood from the question. Yes, she was going to not ask that.
Especially not while they were only wearing their underwear.
"...Tuck..your birthday is soon, isn't it?"

"S'cute when you blush. Helps me know I'm doin' somethin' right." He didn't elaborate on what, exactly, those right things were. Tuck snarfed down a few more grapes and a strawberry, offering Heidi a piece of this and a piece of that as he ate. He totally kissed the back of her neck again, lingering just a little before he rested his chin on her shoulder.
"It is. July twenty-eighth. We're gonna be twenty-one. I guess it's kinna a big deal for normal people, turnin' twenty-one, but on the island it don't feel like one."
He found himself briefly distracted by all that creamy skin, and Tuck cleared his throat and busied himself by picking through the fruit.
"Why?"

"You're always doing it right when you're not throwing me in lakes like some kind of barbarian." The fruits she was fed were accepted, though she nearly bit one of his fingers when he kissed her neck again and made her jump. Her heart raced wildly in her chest for a moment before she calmed down, clearing her throat and simply tilting her head to one side to rest her head against Tuck's.
Twenty-one. Geeze. She only just turned eighteen. "Cradle robber," Heidi teased mildly, finishing her sandwich and reaching back with one arm to massage his scalp with her finger tips. "Just making sure. Is there anything in particular you've been wanting for your birthday? I should get Gnat something too~."

Tuck was quiet because Herryk was busy laughing his damn fool a** off at the barbarian comment. He squinted into the distance until Herryk's robust laughter trailed off into mild chuckles, and only then did he snort.
"Cradle robber?" Tuck snorted softly. He didn't get upset by the comment, mainly because he knew Heidi was joking - and also because her massaging fingers felt really good against his quickly-drying hair. "Maybe I am, but no regrets."
He closed his eyes, lulled into a deep relaxation by Heidi's touch.
"Nah. Well. I'm kind of hoping to get my promotion by then, so that would be a nice surprise." His mom had always gotten him new socks and underwear, but he wasn't going to tell Heidi that.
Today, anyway.
"I ain't picky. Spendin' time with you would be a nice present, too."
<Sex.>
Shut up.
<It has been too long, Theodore.>
Noooooope.
"We could maybe combine a date an' my birthday?"

"Ohh, really? Good luck! I don't think I'm ready for that yet, but I'm sure you'll get yours soon!" Heidi grinned and turned her head to kiss near the corner of Tuck's eye. She would find something to get him. Him and Gnat, she hoped.
Hopefully Gnat wasn't still upset about that stupid dare.
"Aw, come on. There's gotta be more you want. I'll figure it out." It was about as threatening as a puppy, really. It was a very good thing she couldn't hear Herryk. "..Sooo..." Heidi grinned. "You want a weekend away for your birthday? I can do that. I'll take you anywhere you want. We can go to Spain if you want. Or anywhere~!" She remembered him mentioning that earlier. Now she was even more excited. Not having to pay for air fair made this kind of thing so much easier to afford. "It'll be my treat." For some reason Heidi felt the need to clarify this before Tuck tried to to the gentlemanly thing and pay for it. No, she was going to do this for him. He spoiled her so much, she wanted to spoil him for his birthday.

Tuck held up one hand, index and middle finger intertwined in the commonly understood gesture for 'fingers crossed'.
"I'll probably end up gettin' Natasha some of them awful shirts she likes." He shook his head and nuzzled Heidi's cheek. "An' surprise me. You know I ain't picky about much of anything. So long as we're havin' fun, that's all that matters."
Herryk had resolutely calmed down, restless as ever. It was a good thing, too, because there was no getting around the fact that sex was on his mind, yes it was.
"You dry?"

Heidi blinked. "I like her shirts. Except for that orange dress she wore on the cruise.." That had been...something.
Yeah. Something.
She made a happy little noise when he nuzzled her cheek. "Okay, I'll remember that."
When asked if she was dry she looked down at herself and picked at her bra, trying not to just..feel around like she would if Tuck wasn't there. Her body was still kind of cold but she felt fine, so it was hard to tell if her underwear was dry or wet right now. It seemed dry. "I thiiiiink so...are you?" Heidi eyed where she had thrown her clothes about in her hurry to try and get to the lake before Tuck. Her sneakers weren't even together, her socks were at least close to each other..her shirt was here, but her pants were by the lake's edge.
She really didn't want to get up. Instead she snuggled closer to Tuck.
