Derek jumped when the girl joined him in his hiding. "Uuuuh, thank you.." He said slowly. He nodded, glancing at the kids out in the field. "Yeah... This is pretty cool. Wet and cold. But cool" He glanced at the girl again. "Name's Derek. Gotta go!" He said as he shot out from behind the bush and dove at a balloon and throwing it. It said clean over the kids heads. Derek's reward was crashing into more mud.
That confetti trick worked wonderfully! Or at least, it did until he got a water balloon to the chest. So much for staying partially dry. Griffin grumbled to himself and grabbed for more confetti, but just before he threw it, he stopped himself. Hitting the same kid with more confetti wouldn't have the same effect. Instead, he settled for sticking his tongue out at Jason and moving on. He needed to aim for someone else. Someone who was wet, but not covered in rainbow paper just yet. Someone like the boy hiding behind his initial target.
He tripped a little as he ran off to the side, but managed to lob his papery handful at Ralph before crashing to the ground. Even though his knees hurt, he was satisfied at having made a good hit.

Eliza watched as the boy, Derek peeled out from behind the bush. Hiding behind here could allow her to take a breather but she was also out of the action. Brushing her jumpsuit down a few times calmed the girl's racing heart. Her words earlier to Derek had been truthful. Even if boys couldn't be trusted she had to grin. He had agreed with her. The balloon at her feet though required her attention though.
Derek momentarily forgotten, Eliza hefted the slippery balloon and moved to throw it into towards another boy who had confetti on his hands. The balloon shifted in her hands as she let it fly. She let out a whoop of glee as it struck her target, just as he went crashing to the ground.
"Yeah Really." Ralph said at Jason, as he slowly came out from around the other. Right until Griffin fell forward and got him with confetti. Oh no! Now he had confetti too.
He sighed, "She's hit me twice at least, already. I needed somewhere to hide for a second." He picked up a Balloon, but all the soap from earlier caused him to drop it and miss hitting Griffin, who he was aiming for. Which was kind of sad because Griffin wasn't that far away.

Jason just shook his head sadly at the kid behind him before running off to find another person to beam with a balloon. He grabbed a red one and tossed it into a crowed of kids figuring he would hit someone some how.... no such luck. LAME!

Before he could get back to his feet, a balloon got Griffin in the back, drenching the few remaining dry patches of his shirt. He shook all over like a dog, hating the feeling of dirt and water sticking to him. Whoever had thrown that balloon was going to get it, and get it good.
Of course, since the balloon had hit him in the back, he hadn't seen the person who had thrown it. All he could do was guess. He lurched to his feet, brushing his hands on his wet shorts to clean them off a bit, and then reached into the nearest bin. At least getting hit had washed the confetti and soap off his hands, so he was able to keep a good hold on the balloon he fished out of the tub. "Eenie, meenie," he muttered to himself, "miney... moe!" Selecting his target, he let the balloon fly at Derek.

Marisha looked out around the large area around her and smiled as she hopped up and down clapping her hands together in glee. She couldn't wait to get started in this 'fight' and she was determined to come out on top. Even if her mother had put her in this silly dress today, nothing was sacred in such a fight. With this in mind she ran forward. Grabbing the water balloon she grins and aims at a boy her age nearby hitting him in the back of the head with the water balloon.
Eliza flattened herself behind the bush again as a possible deterrent to incoming hostile fire. She needed to find a tub that no one else was near in order to fetch her next balloon. The girl's green eyes flicked quickly from each tub location before she decided on her next course of action.
Another balloon skimmed over the bush and drenched her. Eliza huffed silently. Why was she being targeted?
Rising from her cover the girl kicked up her legs in an awkward run before over shooting the tub she was aiming for. Eliza skidded on the wet grass and windmilled her arms in an effort to remain upright. It almost worked. With hardly a graceful bone in her body the girl felt herself fall backwards. A loud crash bespoke her fate. Eliza now sat in the rather large tub of balloons. Some of which had popped as her weight pushed the limits that the water filled rubber could withstand. However most of the balloons remained intact. Eliza grimaced at the sensation of dampness on her bottom before tossing a balloon at a random kid. Bullseye!

Akane McCormick loved water balloon fights. There was nothing like the smell of rubber on your hands, the squeaky sound the balloon made when you rubbed your fingers against it, the feel of water on your skin, and best of all, the feeling you got when you hit someone. It was bliss! Pure bliss!
She set her sights on her target, picked up a water balloon, and flung it at Marisha's back. "Ready or not, here it comes!"
Griffin was on a roll. He felt fantastic, hitting other kids right and left, screaming along with them when a balloon caught him on the leg or the back. This was fun! Why hadn't he joined right at the start? Why did he have to get hit before he seriously considered playing along with everyone else?
Eh, who cared? The important thing was that he was playing now, and Griffin played to win. He took his time surveying the yard, choosing his next target. Now that he had a streak going, he didn't want to break it. When he saw the girl who had fallen into a tub of balloons, he smirked. She was literally a sitting duck, the perfect target. The balloon he grabbed slipped around as he tried to handle it, and he wasn't sure that he'd be able to throw it accurately. Instead, he ran over and dropped it on Eliza, mentally patting himself on the back for making such a brilliant plan.

Jason spotted a familiar figure running by a bit to his right, it was Jake. Jason still owed Jake for a few balloons so with a wide grin he grabbed two balloons and in a double throw lobbed both at his best friend.
One missed him and splatted on the grass to his right but the second one hit him in the gut and Jason had the pleasure of seeing Jake's pants get wet almost as if his friend had wet himself. "Having a problem there Jake?" He called out.

Briar decided to investigate the tubs more thoroughly. He already knew that one of them was filled with the sort of sudsy water that made brilliant bubbles, but there had been others.
In fact it turned out that there had been another tub containing sudsy water and one containing confetti.
He smiled - he had the perfect target for this.
Scooping up some of the confetti, Briar waited until he saw the boy who he thought tried to chuck a balloon at him earlier.

Kaia wasn't sure about all of this, she hated to get messy, but so long as she didn't have to be in class she didn't care. She picked up the first thing she came across, a balloon, and lobbed it at the closest target.
She threw like a girl.
The balloon hit who she intended to hit but the thing just bounced right off, landing harmlessly on the ground before exploding.
Akane wasn't going to let her earlier failure deter her. She would try again. She picked up another water balloon and flung it again. This time, it rolled along the ground without even popping. She stomped her feet and pouted in response. "Hmph!"
