Sessrumnir really was trying his best to keep this youma off the two civilians, but it was persistant. No longer at a range to keep the youma under his magic, Sessrumnir went for another tactic — hitting it when it got close enough. It wasn't exactly the most refined way of dusting them, but it got the job done. And this one seemed to have some nasty claws hidden from view, but once it got close enough...
"Yeah gramps," he called over his shoulder, trying not to roll his eyes and lose his concentration on the youma. "You're making me sick with all the mushy stuff, just grab her and get out of here!" There was a time to check for injuries and making sure the other was okay... like when there wasn't a threat of being eaten...?
"Little help over here?" he called to no one in particular, but hoped that maybe Palatine wasn't too busy with her own youma problems. A little back up would be nice, especially if he was babysitting the middle aged couple.

Varuna stared in horror, her deep plum eyes looking back and forth between the two Negas as they turned on her. Yes, the child as now safe, but that didn't mean much for her.
She saw the mace being swung, but having never faced a weapon like that before, her jump backwards to try and avoid it was too late, and she felt the ball crash into her side with a sickening crack, knocking her to the ground.
While she was no stranger to pain, having been thrown by a horse on a few occasions, the initial shock always left her breathless. Was she going to be killed...? Corrupted...? She didn't want that, not when she had so many things she... wanted to do.
It was strange, actually wanting to have a second chance at things when before becoming a senshi she had wondered if there was really a point to her existence. Before she'd become a senshi, she was just another nameless face, someone who could do nothing, was worth nothing, and could be nothing. But as a senshi she felt she could actually make a difference...
And if that difference meant being the distraction to save that chibi senshi...? She supposed that was good enough.
But even as her vision faded in and out, feeling like she was going to be sick, edging towards unconsciousness... she wasn't willing to give up so easily.
"Snow slip!" she called, throwing her hands out and towards the negas, her postion on the ground giving her a clear view of the snow as it magically formed and rose up from the ground with the intention of pushing them away, at least enough for her to try and crawl to safety.
She wished she could say she knew what she was doing, but the truth was she didn't have a clue. There was so much going on that focusing on one thing was becoming a little difficult. This was not what she'd signed up for. After going six months facing nothing but youma, and an awkward sparring session with some kid page, a full on battle was a lot to take in.
There was some morbid curiosity there, too. She wanted to observe the youmas' behavior, she wanted to confront a Negaverse officer to see what they were like, and the sight of civilians in danger... it was sickening but in a way intriguing, if only because she'd never seen anything quite like it before. Instinct said to help, and she could see how Sessrimnir's response—do whatever's necessary—was probably the best answer he could give at the moment, but there was also a part of her that wanted to stand there and take it all in.
Besides, her niece was still out there somewhere, but when she looked around, Palatine could not see her anywhere.
She pressed forward, forced herself to focus on one of the youma, sparing a glance toward the two middle-aged people Sessrumnir had saved. The woman was obviously pregnant. It brought to mind her own two kids and she felt mildly sick.
"What are you still doing hanging around?" she asked them. "Don't just sit there, get her out of here! You can have your little love fest later!"
The display made her vaguely uncomfortable; it'd been a long time since she'd cared to witness any sort of romance.
Palatine put the thought out of her mind and looked instead to one of the youma. One or two sparring sessions hadn't done much to improve her fighting skills. When it made to grab her she dodged as well as she could and stuck her foot out to trip it, but it was smarter than she'd anticipated and avoided it, catching her side with one of its clawed hands and knocking her right into Sessrumnir.
Rolls: 1-10 (6): Assist 1-10 (7): Attacked by youma. 1-10 (6): Assist 1-10 (3): Attacked by youma.
Natron swung his mace threateningly, fully prepared to hit the blonde Senshi a second time and make sure she stayed down for a while. He'd worry about the other Order fools later; for now he was feeling quite pleased with himself. After his little demonstration on Painite, he had known his weapon would be effective, and nastily so. The crunch of what he suspected might be cracking bones only confirmed what he had expected. His dodgeball had never done anything like that - and once again he was glad he'd chosen not to use it on the chibi. If it took out an adult, what would it do to a child? He didn't like to think about that.
His minor moment of patting himself on the back was ended very quickly by the Senshi's attack. As the strange, sudden magic snow rose up, pushing him back and off his feet, he cursed angrily. Damn Senshi and their weird powers - he had physical strength and speed, but he had forgotten to account for the one thing Senshi had over officers.
He started to push himself up, growling the entire time, but he was now just beyond the reach of his weapon.
"Are you alright?" He asked Serpentine. He wasn't injured, and he wanted to make sure the Lieutenant wasn't either.

exclaim The Negas in the area receive a message from General Painite: 'Get them to the Fun House'. There is a wicked grin in her tone, but a firm edge that says her orders are not to be taken as suggestions.

Tian was happy at being able to take down a couple youma, but when she saw the Negaverse General kill a defenseless civilian and take their remaining energy, Tian was furious. She felt like there was no reason for her to kill them.
Looking around her, Tian searched for a long, sharp object. Even if she didn't manage to kill the General, at least Tian knew where to hit now to make a person bleed -- a lot. Tian was about to grab one before she noticed that the General and other chaos-aligned where leaving. "Leaving for good or attacking elsewhere?"
She thought about it quickly. Tian would rather leave Cotton alone for a while longer, where she would be safe, rather than allow more people to be in danger. She followed them secretly, wanting to make sure they were leaving.

Sorry it took so long to get back to RP!

Ditto!
As soon as snow appeared on the ground, Serpentine knew the blonde was responsible. He leapt to avoid it but... too soon. He landed just as the white slush swept across the ground. With a hiss of pain, he landed hard and eventually faltered to one knee. He had likely sprained his ankle with this newest stunt. It registered as a matter-of-fact injury, just as if an opposing Defender had slid into his cleated foot on the soccer field.
"I'm fine," he reported to Natron. Even if he had been the type to speak further, he probably would not in lieu of attacking instead. Painite's voice coming through his crystal communicator, however, meant that he had a new goal. Run as many of the individuals before him towards the Fun House. That he could certainly do, sprained ankle or no.
He summoned his thrown weapon and charged, as best he could, towards the Senshi who brought snow and all those near her, directing them as best he could towards the Fun House. Whatever occurred at the next part of this mission... he would certainly do his part now!

Natron gave Serpentine a sharp nod and stood up the rest of the way. They had their new orders; it was time to move this party elsewhere. To the Fun House it was, and he intended to ensure as many of these civilians and White Mooners went there as he could possibly drive that way.

Palatine righted herself and muttered a quick apology to Sessrumnir, and then glanced around the area to get her bearings and once again try to figure out what she should do.
It seemed the battle was trickling off elsewhere. Where? She hadn't been paying close enough attention, and a quick observation of the departing figures didn't provide her with much of an answer. They could be going anywhere. Retreating? Luring everyone elsewhere? Why? Should she follow? Or stay and see to any of the injured? Should she leave? That seemed the coward's answer, and while she didn't like to think of herself as a coward, Palatine also had quite a few other concerns on her mind.
She should make sure Claire was alright... and her niece was missing. Glancing around the area, she didn't see Rhiannon anywhere. She could have been hurt. Or worse. Palatine liked to think her niece was resourceful enough to escape on her own, but in all the commotion there was no telling for certain what had happened.
“I'm going to find Rhiannon and make sure your mother got out,” she decided, turning back to Sessrumnir. There were plenty of others around to make sure the fighting didn't get too out of hand. Her staying or going wasn't going to impact the outcome at all, she was sure.
Palatine didn't wait for him to answer. She turned on her heel and walked off before she could second guess herself, and tried not to feel guilty that she was essentially running away.
She had to figure out her priorities. Right now, this seemed like the most important.
Sorry, I wanted to close this out from Palatine's end so I can use it for reqs. I'm sorry. I'm so slow. /weep
