Feeling the chain pulled on Adaeze struggled for air as the chain was pulled over her neck. Moving toward the pulling she was still gasping and spluttering as water got around her mask. She could only hope it was someone helping her and not the water dweller from before. Eventually she felt soil below her even still in the water Adaeze was instantly happy. She stood up as quickly as she could and clamored onto the shore before falling down. She took a few sobbing breaths coughing up water and shivering before she remembered Delta. Not worried about who her rescuer was she turned her head up a bit and called out loudly. “Delta? Delta talk to me.”

Delta all but collapsed in relief once both he and Adaeze were back on solid ground. He released the chain to reply to the mare's call. "Right here... Don't... haf'ta yell..." His ears weren't buzzing anymore, but he felt really, really weak...

“oh!” She stayed quite for a moment. “Sorry.” She whispered and coughed happy the chain wasn’t pulling on her anymore. She nosed softly and carefully until she found Delta’s head again and held her now very cool and wet mask to it. “Sorry Delta. I’m so sorry.” She closed her eyes under the mask and barely managed to utter the next phrase she knew she had to get out before anything else. “Thank you.”

Delta smiled weakly. "What are you... apologizing for? There's nothing to be... sorry about..." The cool, wet mask felt nice against his throbbing head. The smile strengthened at her gratitude. "You're welcome..."

There was a lot to apologize for. Yelling in his ear, worrying him. Not being able to support him. She just stayed there with her mask against his not saying any of those things. It could wait. Right now she was just next to him. Plans to get his sister left on hold. Just for now she was here with Delta breathing. Lets not forget the breathing part.

Delta draped a wing over Adaeze, content to stay where he was. The silence beyond their breathing didn't bother him. They were tired and wet. Taking some time to catch their breath couldn't be bad. He yawned, leaning against her slightly. Maybe a nap... a nap sounded nice...

After a while Delta’s breathing quited and Adaeze did nothing to stop him this time. She was tired herself. It was surprising what a small panic did to someone. She was too tired to argue and fight anymore about finding his sister. She would do that later. Huffing she started to drift off herself. Hopefully that water witch wouldn’t come back.

Waking groggily she inhaled Delta’s scent and blinked a few times under her mask surprised at being so close to another azrein. Freezing up she wasn’t sure what happened until her memories relayed those past events to her. She frowned thinking of Iota and how much Delta missed his sister. She didn’t really think she could take Delta with her since he was having that headache and was clearly scared to leave for his family who was left. Shaking her head she stood up having made a decision. She had a date with Demoni but the other azrein just didn’t’ know it yet. Picking her way carefully away she started off. She didn’t know how far she had to go or who to ask but she knew staying put wouldn’t help.
After weeks of searching and trying to glean some information she found out what she needed to know and was now traveling in the southern lands not really as certain as she had been that this was a good idea. She had ideas of what she could say but now in the south each morning she woke up she wasn’t sure it was a good idea and perhaps she should go back north and get help. Still the idea of Delta’s sad voice drifted in her mind. She couldn’t turn back on that.

"Lost, masked one?" Demoni couldn't help smirking at the masked mare, despite the polite tone of his voice. She was clearly lost in some form, but because she was masked, it was hard to tell if it was because she couldn't see or because she was from neutral or northern lands. He vaguely wondered if Ruin would like her. She seemed like the warrior type... Though since Demoni had found her, he was more likely to hoard her for himself.

Hearing a strange voice she stopped and cocked an ear. “No. Looking. Care to play tour guide?” She was scared but determined not to show that kind of fear to anyone in the south. She didn’t know who this was and where she was really. Perhaps they might know the Demoni she wanted to find. She didn’t know much about southern azrein so keeping her ears open maybe she would pick up a few things on how to act down here.

Demoni smiled. Perfect. "Well, I'm not really doing anything else, so I don't see why not. What or who are you looking for?" he inquired, curious. So she probably wasn't a southerner. Neutral Azrein, perhaps? He doubted a King's horse would be foolish enough to come down here.

She debated on whether to tell him or not. Well what’s the worst that he could do? Lead her into more danger than she was in? doubtful she might be loosing her life just meeting this stranger. “Demoni. I’m looking for an azrein named Demoni.” She snorted softly after the name trying to place the scent of the stranger. It wasn’t woody or dusty, but smoky and heavy. Why would an azrein smell like that?

Oh? She was looking for him? How interesting. He'd play along. "I know the name. However, there are four Demonis. Lord Demoni and his three children. I don't know where all of them are, but Lord Demoni and his eldest daughter, Dakini Demoni, don't live far." He paused and, sounding a little concerned, he added, "Are you sure you want me to take you there? Lord Demoni is mated to Ruin. One slip-up and you may end up as a charred corpse."

Kindess in the south? Well this ‘lord’ Demoni must be even scarier than she thought. Swallowing she noded. “Lord Demoni is the one I seek. No other will do I’m afraid.” The father would know if it was the acts of one of his sons right? She tilted her mask toward where the voice came from. “If it is troublesome for you just get me as close as you can and then leave if it makes you uneasy.” Even if she was walking into a trap like she suspected she would at least go out her way which included being somewhat civil.. for now.
