 Not only did the monster continue to thrash around, smacking away anyone in its path, but now there were bees to contend with. Many, many bees. Things were looking bleak for our young heroes. Boss HP: 91

Malodore stared at Riley with narrowed eyes; its claws twitched in her direction. But she had been very clear... "Protect her!" it shouted to the dragon, then brought its hands down directly on the dragon's side, funneling FEAR into him. HP: 19 Action: Healing Target: Jericho Healed: 6 + 3 healbuff = 9 x 3 = 27 HP

Kettil kept getting distracted by bees mostly because they were very threatening and deadly. That didn't stop him from trying to hit the creature. Endzela let out a few little screeches of dismay.

"Come on... Hang in there!" he called out to the others. They were wearing down a lot. The bees on the creature were not helping a whole lot either, unfortunately.

One last sliver left her wings, before she heard Malodore's severe warning. She backed away, her arms lifting up to hang off Jericho's tail.
I'm fine. I'm more than fine, really - bee stings are nothing. Keep Jericho up, your heals on him are only reason I - or any of us - are still alive and able to fight. Her words were heavy, thick with both pride, and affection. Hel and Kettil were still on their own feet, wounded but refusing to give up, just like her. She'd picked a fine team. Win or lose, she would remember that.
But she was still counting on winning.

The monster was wearing down, but not fast enough. It slapped its tail on the ground and swung it at the insects, and then flopped down on the ground for a quick nap. The bees were still awake, though. Boss HP: 82

Snarling, Jericho curled himself around, trying to block off as much for Malodore and Riley. Only Riley knew what this thing looked like. If she went down.. well... they'd have to go home.

Bees stung him and it was nothing. Nothing. He did worse to himself in training. Kettil watched as it flopped over for a nap and he just gave a bit of a feral grin.
"No. It ain't nap time. WAKE UP." That was when Kettil dove in real close and punched it as hard as he could right on the snout. "NAP TIME IS A BAD IDEA AROUND ME."

Malodore ground its beak and sent more FEAR into Jericho, keeping its palms pressed against the dragon's scales. It wanted to heal them all, but there wasn't time. It had never truly been in a battlefield situation like this before, the sole healer under siege... It wasn't sure it liked it, now. Too many choices. Too many impossible choices. Too many opportunities for crushing guilt. HP: 6 Action: Healing Target: Jericho Healed: 4 + 3healbuff = 7 x 3 = 21 HP

She'd told everyone to stay back. Play it safe. Don't be a hero. When Kettil defied her orders, he looked like he was standing on his last legs, and yet - he stormed out and punched a bee covered creature in the face.
She was mad. She was, and yet, there might have been the smallest part of her that thought highly of the stupid boil, even as her psionic shards were shot out past him into the creatures thick hide. Because in the end, no matter how safe she might have wanted to play it, that was something she would have done in the end.
But she'd still yell at him for it when they were all home, later.

Being worn down like this wasn’t anything new, and if anything, Hel happened to like this state in a sick sort of way, because it meant things got desperate…and one tended to fight harder. She would also more than happily lay her existence down for a cause, so she was glad to see Jericho protecting Riley and Malodore. Like Kettil, she pushed her way through the bees, and was trailing up with him to strike at the downed beast. Quote: HP: 14/50 DMG: 6 Target: Boss

Like a hungry hungry hippo, the monster chomped down on Kettil and Hel, swallowing them whole. He tried to do the same for the dragon, but Jericho was too big and he choked and spat him out. So that happened. Boss HP: 62

Riley removed herself from the hold she had on Jericho's tail, climbing up just in time to see the two swallowed whole. Her skin paled and she shuddered, but somehow she considered that ending far more humane than being chewed..
Still...
Remind me to find some way to give those two my gratitude, when we're back home. Riley murmured quietly, to neither of the two remaining in particular, before she too ran forward. She only hoped her death would be as quick.
She flung herself up into the air, launching herself off of Jericho, and let out a deep, violent roar. If they were going to die, she, too, was going to give it all she had left.
