Harrison caught him, but the extra buoyancy was unnecessary. The shield kept Rep in a bubble of no harm.
It fizzled out like a lighbulb.
Harrison set Rep down, and got low, ready to address the answering backwash of shadow.
"...What happened?" He asked, not looking behind him, but uppercutting the oncoming wave, "What'd it do?"

Managing a quick nod to Harrison as he weaved around the battlefield to escape the claws and bites coming his way, Jason saw that another moon hunter seemed to be a little ruffled up, so he stopped by Dakota to place a bandage on him.
"Here yo go, just be careful you don't get hurt - OH SHI-" He stumbled backwards from a flying mob of shadowlings, and was about to be overwhelmed had it not been for Jordan taking them out.
"T-thank you!" He huffed, gathering his wits as he went to offer mroe assistance to others.

Rep was thrown off balance for a second as he took in what Harrison had asked, he'd been so caught up in adrenaline and power that he hadn't immediately realised the key thing that was missing from the attack.
It hadn't hurt at all.
He checked with Tracey just to be sure, just to double check that he hadn't been too zoned out to realise, but the fallen angel's feedback was just that. Nothing. No damage to his shield, even the claws of the shadowlings that had lashed out in their death throes had met with nothing but pink impassable barrier.
"It like.." Rep shook a shadowling off the axe that had impertinently climbed on. "..it ******** ate all the damage. I didn't even strain my back. It was like I was running on B0nez energy instead of my own or some s**t. I don't know. It felt. Weird. But not bad weird."

It was easy to tell where most of the shadowlings were grouped up, and it concerned Jason to see just how many Harrison was trying to block out at once. Sure Rep was doing a lot of damage, but the moon was taking most of it. Plus with so many shadowlings around, it was difficult to get close.
With a grimace, Jason tried his luck once more, managing to get close enough to them to offer more first aid to Harrison as he struggled to keep away from the mass of black at the same time.
"Gah! Careful Harrison or you're gonna be eaten alive!" He called out as he literally had to duck.

Taking a good battering in the midst of it, Jason was determined to do at least a half decent job on the other moons injuries. He managed to bandage a reasonable amount before he was forced to pull back from them all.
"Damn! These things are a pest..." He sighed in exasperation.

"Well s**t," Harrison said, taking another swing, "that sounds like a good ******** deal. ...I think B0nez can do more of them, but last time I tried making a couple of them they shorted out. So like. Takes more energy."
He pinned a shadowling to the ground, short of Rep's torso.
"Guess when it comes to experiments, now's a good a time as any." He wriggled the shorter blade free, and was about to slash again...no. White coat. He held up, and patiently let Jason attend to him some.
"I can take it," he answered gruffly.

Moments later, all the shadowlings pull back.
Silence, for several long seconds. The only sound afterwards is the tentative clang of a couple of Hunters moving slowly, with trepidation as if anything would set something else off. They immediately tensed as from in front of the Headquarters appeared a single door.
A fine mist emitted from the door before it burst open, revealing-
Minipets. Remember when the Life Labs was testing on minipets and all that good stuff? Well, maybe they really shouldn't have, because they were returning with a vengeance. No, they weren't just regular, somewhat adorable minipets: these were well known and somewhat-familiar minipet creatures that had grotesquely grown to at least ten times their actual sized, desaturated to a deep blue-violet. On each of them was an odd emblem.
The second they emerged the colour from around them pulled back out, sucked into the door as it disappeared with another screech, leaving only the minipets behind. The minipets and the shadowlings.
As if moving as one entity alone, thousands, several hundreds of thousands of baleful, glowing eyes turned towards the Hunters before lumbering their direction, poised in suspense for that single cue-
- Before everything exploded into chaos.
This is what happens when you leave minipets alone for too long.
You notice some familiar minipets.

"What the ********>" Ferros burst into flame as Jordan swung, bowling over several of the mutated minis. He avoided the one that looked like Killer. :c

Solia had issues with minis. Mostly the foxfire type. She had killed them. On accident. But she'd still killed them all the same. Well. Israfel mused. You have experience?
That was true. Plus huge minipets were probably going to try and eat them. Solia just wasn't into that.
"SORRY NOT SORRY." She said, aiming at the horde of previously cuddly creatures.

"It's ******** ha.." he cut himself off before he legit said haxx as a description of something out loud. "******** amazing. And aye, best time to do anything is in proper battle."
Once again though, something changed, the shadowlings ******** off, which in itself was suspicious, they weren't beaten yet so them leaving was more worrying than a relief.
His moment of doubt proved more than valid as with a slam of the door, they were beset with the entire contents of the life labs turned mutant. It was time to do some cleanup, and it would have been easy, just more fighting was it not for a very familiar but a lot bigger moo.
"Oh for ******** sake." It was an exclamation less anger and more on the side of despair. "MASS. Daddy's here!" He'd never been ignored by the little cow before, it made it so much worse when he ignored him now and settled on trying to gore the nearest person to him.
He swung at a mini he was sure he didn't recognise, just as he spotted Killer in the fray too. "What do we do?" he asked, as if Harrison would know.

Harrison knew what he was going to do.
He defended Rep from a nasty and oversized set of jaws. But as for what they should do...
"Killer?" he called, on edge, "Divinity. Come on, I...I taught you this s**t, you can sort yourself out."
Killer seemed set on using trample instead.
It was them, it had...well, no other herpicorns had an eyeplug, even if the coloring was all weird.
But it didn't make any sense. Why them? Had they reacted weird to the shadows? Gotten their cages eaten?
"I don't know," Harrison offered at last, "doesn't feel right."

Rep didn't deal with helplessness well, it slithered in and overtook him, freezing him to the spot. He couldn't afford it now when they were surrounded by shadowlings and monstrous not-so-minipets. He stood to lose far far too much if he stopped in his tracks. "I guess... All we can do is clear the others." The ones that didn't look like their beloved pets.
He swung out again at the creature trying to chew his head off, but his heart wasn't in it, he kept looking over at the big purple cow still wearing his silly frilly collar.

If anything, Deryk felt they had a pretty good system going on here. That was, until something had to come and make things harder on them. Now, all of the sudden, there were a bunch of Minipets that were in the mix.
"...Man today sucks," he groaned.
Running around the field, he went ahead to try and slap another bandage onto Harrison. The guy was absorbing a lot of hits for the others. Surely he needed a boost.

It had a nice ring to it, even if Irsfael was expressing his disapproval. Well, she was in death. This was kind of fitting.
