Lysandor

He felt his eyes drawn away from the eggs to where the first impression was underway the wild dog dragonet had found its companion, though the boy it had come to originally didn't seem upset Lysandor had to wonder what he was thinking. Thoughts returning to the girl who was walking away to feed her companion watching them leave caused him to recall that he had to return his gaze to the sands. It would do for him to get run over with an over ambitious dragonet just because he wasn't paying attention.

Jasiline

"Ohhhh!" Really the girl just couldn't shut up in her excitement. She staggered out of the spotted green's way, long limbs tangling in her own robes as she sought to retain her balance in the hot sand. At least the pretty little thing wasn't causing any real trouble as she found hers.

It was obvious when she had too from the delight on both of their faces. Jasiline started clapping her hands spontaneously, turning red from embarrassment when she realized she was the only one. Oops. It was the first Impression she'd ever seen before and it was a rather heartwarming sight. Jasiline turned back to the clutch with eager thoughts in her mind. Maybe the blue or the brown out there would choose her! Ooooooh she was much more excited now than she'd been a moment ago.

Ameleia watched with wide eyes as the patchwork green bounded along across the sands to another group of Candidates, seeming to be studying them quite closely before pushing forward into one of them, seemingly having made her choice from amongst the group of Candidates, "Good for you." She murmured, glad to see that one had found her rider since the dragon seemed so sweet when she'd met with it during the egg meeting. Ameleia watched as the green and her rider headed off the sands, probably to find food for the baby, before her attention went back to the other two dragons that were in sight at the moment.

She watched the pair of brothers for a long moment, admiring them both even though she knew for certain one of them would have zero interest in her since she was a girl, before she was back to searching the shadows, curious if she might spot the blue who was skulking about but no chance of that yet. After a moment of playing the seeking part of hide and seek she was looking over the eggs, wondering which amongst the colorful clutch might be the next to hatch. She was kind of hoping it would be the black egg just because she was still curious about that one. Calith had been reassuring about the dark colored egg being alright though, so at least she wasn't as worried as she had been during the start of the egg meet.

"So, who is next?" She murmured, mostly to herself as she kept her eyes peeled for movement among the eggs.

Mei (Interaction toward other candidates in general, and Jasiline)

So, that was what Impression looked like? A happy, rainbow-faceted dragonet staring up into the face of an equally enraptured candidate?

"They've Impressed, right?" Mei inquired to those immediately around her, but many did not notice or hear as they too were watching the pair in awe. Mei's question would easily be answered when the girl reached out to touch the green's exquisitely mottled neck. A girl was clapping awkwardly by herself, and Mei quickly joined in with her, shooting the girl a little smirk and a wink. See? Nothing to be embarrassed about. Mei wouldn't have even thought to clap had Jasmine not started it up first.

That stalking, sullen blue should probably get over his rage and go find his own, then. It seemed to be quite the mood lifter. Mei was really hoping that Impression was love at first sight like she'd so often heard it described, both for her own sake and for whoever impressed the volatile blue. Where had he went? Mindful that the beast was still stalking about, she stuck close to her fellow female candidates, now watching the brown and bronze with curiosity. Faranth help whoever Impressed that huge creature; he'd be a monumental task to wash once he reached full growth! That thought brought her back to the fond memories of helping wash Zellie, causing a sly little grin to tug at her lips. Not only had the chore helped her get over much of her ignorance inspired fear of dragons, but it'd made her a few marks in the process.

Then, she felt eyes on her, glancing up to see Hennory staring her way with that grin on his face that told her that he was seeing straight through her and into her thoughts. Her nose wrinkled halfheartedly his way, but couldn't keep the smile off her face.

Hennory

Hennory tracked the green's progress until she stopped Impressed to a young woman, watching with resignation as Impression was made. The excitement he'd felt when the green had stared at him now was gone, leaving disappointment in it's wake.

She wasn't the dragon for him. That didn't mean he wasn't worthy of one. That's what he told himself, anyways, giving his candidate's robes a final tug to straighten them out, smoothing them with a calm precision that belied the emotions simmering within him. What would his mother had thought if he'd Impressed to a green? Would she have considered that 'good enough'? It occurred to him rather quickly that for once, he wouldn't have cared what she thought. He would have loved a green as much as any color. It was taking a lot of convincing for himself that he had not done anything wrong, and that his chance had not just went skipping off to choose someone else.

He sought out Mei's eyes, but she was looking particularly thoughtful, her grin and shrewd expression one she often got when she was going through her earnings reports, or recounting some personal achievement. She was becoming spectacularly easy to read. She looked his way, wrinkling her nose as the easy grin she found on his face, but he knew she wouldn't be able to resist smiling back.

It was alright. They'd both be alright.

It seemed that rather than the young green's impression being a driver for the others to seek out there own riders, it spurred more eggs into motion. The dragons on the sands, did not seem in too much of a hurry. Black Mamba was still hidden, occasionally a sliver of blue hide could be seen as he moved from behind one egg to another, or a glowing eyes would be seen observing a candidate from afar before it soon retreated into the dark again. The Secretary Bird brown seemed more interested in his fellow eggs, hesitantly skirting around and sniffing at the unhatched shells, clearly as curious about their contents as the humans in the cavern. Elephant, he just stared. The bronze remained by his shell, eyes slowly roaming over the male candidates as he scoured each one. As methodical as he had been inside his shell.

Meanwhile two eggs took up moving, deciding that now was when they wanted to join the fray. After all, why let the others have all the fun. The first, the larger Honey Badger, was clearly set on using strength. It was clear that the dragon inside was throwing all of its weight against the shell. The thud of it and the answering judder from its shell becoming strangely methodical. The egg began to push outwards, revealing the strength inside. Finally the shell relented, collapsing outward and revealing a dark torso. The Honey Badger brown looked around and gave a dismissive snort. Hauling himself out the brown shook his head, the pale blaze down his back becoming apparent.

A distance away another egg had already begun to try and escape. Rolling away from its large gold sister and smaller bright sibling, Cheetah pitched and rolled. The small circular egg moving unfortunately a great amount as the dragon threw itself around in a frenzy. The egg however did not get far before it simply exploded outward, revealing a small speckled green lying among the remains, panting heavily from her exertion. The young dragon was thin and delicate in appearance. Though small, the green was not dangerously thin or small and as she climbed to her feet with a huff, ruffling her wings to dislodge any egg fragments, it became clear she was healthy.

Zofer

He held his open position, not quite staring down the bronze Elephant as the hatchling inspected each candidate in turn. He'd find him worthy, Zofer was sure of it. There was pride and honor there. Both of which Zofer had and deserved. It was the dragons choice in the end, not his own, that would make the match. He trusted the bronze to choose correctly.

The arrival of another brown and green were absently noted as well.

Jasiline
(tag Mei)

Jasi grinned at Mei, glad for the other's support in her own foolishness. Was it foolishness? She'd been excited after all! The new green's enthusiastic arrival seemed to match her own energy levels, but then she recalled the harried and exhausted feeling of the hatchling from the Touching. Was that just from the one day or was this poor little darling as delicate as she appeared?

"She's so small... I mean, I know greens're small but is that right?"

Lysandor

Eye's on the sands he noticed the first blue had still, yet to come forward to choose someone to impress. Hopefully it found someone suitable that would understood the dragonet. Gaze moving to the bronze who seemed to be appraising all the male candidates on the sands he felt is face flush if only because he knew it wouldn't be himself.

Shifting his attention to the sudden repetitive sound of something beating the inside of a shell he was reminded of the hammer strikes back home, as hammer met with hot iron or steel to forge mighty weapons.
Lysandor suddenly felt homesick, but silently cheered the brown who managed to get through its thick shell and out into the world. The next to hatch was a green who seemed almost I a tizzy as it exploded from its shell although it looked...rather lean for am green, was everything alright with it? It seemed healthy as it shook its wings out and stood but worry still tinged his thoughts.

For a moment Emora frowned darkly at the new green. It was so thin and lean. . .would this one between as well? But once the creature unfurled itself it became clear the dragon was healthy if not a little strange. Shrugging her shoulders she eyed the honeybadger brown for a moment pursing her lips in thin amusement.

So many browns and only one bronze. Well at least she knew where all the boys attention was going to be.

Mei
(Tag Jasiline)

"To be honest, I don't have a good frame of reference." Mei responded, shrugging. Her eyes weren't following the green though, but instead was smirking after the rough and tumble honey badger brown. She couldn't help but wonder if the creature remembered her attempt at a truce. He hadn't seemed interested at the time. "Do dragons often reflect their eggs?" She honestly had no idea, but it seemed to be the trend at current, with the spotted green and the telltale stripe down the Honey Badger Brown's back that so succinctly matched the one that had graced his shell.

Now, to see what the fellow candidate had been talking about… She looked toward the green. It was small, alright. Lithe and thin in a way that made her look like a tiny shadow of a thing compared to the behemoth of a bronze currently perusing the boys. "But look! She's pretty spry. She might be small, but definitely not sickly."

Hennory

The thrill of the hatching was thankfully overriding much of Hennory's earlier worries, watching with bated breath as the bronze looked over each of them with a wise eye and a sense of duty that didn't surprise Hennory in the least if his mannerisms within the egg were anything to go by. He was distantly aware of the huffy little brown that escaped from the egg that Mei had found so amusing, and also on the tiny Cheetah green. She was a beautiful thing, but perhaps Hennory was feeling particularly biased towards them after his close encounter with the Wild Dog Green. When and if the Elephant Bronze looked him over, Hennory found he had a compulsion to be equally as cordial in return, regarding the bronze with a polite nod as he stood and allowed himself to be evaluated. Hennory was a polite individual by nature; it was no far stretch for him to extend it to the cordial bronze.

Mairin

Mairin had little time to feel much about the patchy hided green's impression before even more eggs were cracking and revealing more dragonets. While all of them interested her she was most curious about the pangolin and serval eggs. She wanted to see just what sort of dragonets came from them, perhaps one of them would be interested in her. Probably not the pangolin dragonet though, it had seemed to shy away from her as if her very presence made it uncomfortable. The Serval had seemed nice though clearly the mischievous sort that needed someone to reign it it maybe without breaking their spirit.

Not that Mairin was going to reject any dragonet that came her way regardless of if she'd interacted with it in the egg or not but those two she'd had chance to make up her mind about and she wanted to see what happened with them.

Evzen

Evzen's grey eyes darted left then right, up then down, there were so many dragonets to keep track of. It would make him less nervous if that one blue would stop hiding in the eggs like some sort of skulking feline you heard about in scary stories down in the creche. Although in a way it was one less dragon to be constantly trying to keep track of. It was an odd conundrum for the young boy who usually enjoyed observing things before making decisions, using his ability to read a scene to his advantage.

Still Evzen did smile as he watched the dragons who were watching him, it was a fun sort of game in a way. Well and he had caught Alara's wave to him moments before. He was glad the older weyrbrat had finally found her dragon. Perhaps now that she had something of her own she'd start sharing other less personal things more.

Jasiline
(tag Mei)

"I don' know either." Jasiline shrugged much like Mei had. "This is m'first time seein' them. I didn' expect'em t'look like their shells." She followed Mei's gaze towards the brown. She hadn't realized he looked like his shell as well. It was rather surprising.

"I hope she 'ent sick. She's too pretty!"

F'ronell and Brown Eileith

The green impressed to one of the girls, and the teen smiled. It was a good start, and soon more of the eggs had hatched. Only one guess right so far though.

It was almost disappointing.

I do not understand your preoccupation with this betting thing. his dragon said.

It's a challenge thing, he responding.

And you are losing? He could feel his dragon's displeasure about that, causing him to grin.

Not yet. I'll know when the hatching ends.

Then there is no reason for you to be concerned yet.

True. There were still unhatched eggs, and he had gotten the bronze right. They'd just have to see how things went.
PostPosted: Sun Mar 24, 2013 7:49 pm

Ameleia was watching the Brown and Bronze closely, curious what it was that they might be thinking at the moment, the Bronze one especially since he was standing quite still, looking a bit of a statuesque side as he studied the Candidates without really going all that far from the shell that he had recently vacated with the encouragement of his Brown brother. Tilting her head to one side she watched him closely before she tried to follow his gaze, curious who it was amongst the males that might catch his attention. She even turned for a moment, musing over it herself. There were a lot of cute ones, weren't there? She was sure that he would pick the right one and that they would make a striking pair.

Shaking her head to clear that line of thoughts since it had her cheeks coloring ever so slightly she turned to looking over the eggs, as well as the blue dragon that was darting around behind them, "Oh, look." She murmured, lifting up onto her toes a little bit taller as she saw two more eggs starting to move, one of them see be pushed out from the inside with a great amount of power before he popped open and released the Brown from it's shell. The look on her face was one that said that she was quite surprised by the the entrance that the boy had made, "Another pretty boy." She complimented him before turning to look over toward the other shaking egg, watching how it rolled away from the big, golden egg, and then suddenly seemed to burst from the egg, landing in a heap.

"Ahh... poor little dear." She murmured, head tilting to one side, wondering if she was alright, but before she could worry for too long the little one was back on her feet, shaking egg shell from her wings. Another beautiful Green she thought to herself, giving a smile before she looked between the large amount of pretty babies that were on the sands at the moment, looking for their partners, trying to guess who might impress next.
