Well a bunch of good that strike did. The thing only seemed to quiverr and tumble to the ground, spilling all of Maddy's precious sketches to the floor.

The shadowling came at him again and Andrew fling fire at it in a heated wave hand connecting with the thing and sent the little sucker into a wall. "Ha! That will teach you to eat my stuff!"
And then it popped back up staring, staring at him. "Jack...."

Maybe... throwing something would work better. As the shadowling edged over to chew on a bit of his blanket, he reached on his desk and found a pencil case, bouncing it once in his hand before flinging it full force at the thing.

And it clattered to the floor and promptly became the things snack. That didn't work so well. He simply stared a moment before trying to thing again as to what options he had that might get this thing to fall over. Cause it seemed pretty good at dodging him.

The coat was barely recognizeable now, a mess of its former glory. a small price to pay the green eared hound thought as the beasts continued to forage, at least what was left after the kick. the moment to think was halted, ears twisting at the sounds of yelling and things being slammed from all around. Was what was happening here, going on across the entire campus? It was a disturbing thought. to be eaten out of house and home.
The new coat from the closet was already in hand, along with the surf board that was used recently, brandished in a menacing way and bashed along the floor.

This really wasn't looking good. He darted for the thing again as he attempted to catch it once more, the minipets having scrambled out of the way to hiding at this point at least. But the thing once again hopped out of his reach at the last moment and left him with a few quick scratches as he was working to right himself again for another swing.
Nope. No luck at all. He just could NOT touch this thing.

The shadowling lunged for him again but Andrew stomped on it, fire coming from his feet. Stomp stomp, and it was dead. "And stay the Jack out of my room!"
Nasty creature. What the jack was going on around here he wondered as he shoved on his shoes. He had managed to save his room, that was good, or had he? Andrew left the dorms, his hair a mess and a bit of blood running down his face.

The poor thing just stood there as he beat it, and then, suddenly sank into the floor just as he swung down.
Jack damn it! Maddy's fur bristled, and he swung the keyblade in the general vicinity of the room. He would find it appearing in his hand again a moment later, devoid of any possible inky black stains.

Reaching for it, his hand went through the shadow once more, allowing it to gain some more ground escaping him.

This was actually looking pretty bad, but he wasn't quite ready to keel over yet. Darting forward again with a bit more speed than before he managed to rake at the thing and do a bit of damage, getting a bit of a bite from it in revenge.
The thing seemed to have a much higher effect than his own strike too, as it just cocked it's head as him as he stood rubbing at his arm where he'd been chewed at. Not exactly the best of situations.

Well at least the thing seemed a bit off balance? He figured it was best to keep after it while he had a chance. Giving up on his sore arm he lunged for the thing again, managing to whack it a bit more soundly than usual as he skidded a bit into his dresser again in the process. Not the most graceful, but the thing seemed far from pleased.
Not that he felt ANY better, but... well... HE WAS MAKING PROGRESS?

Continuing to evade him, Uru's instincts continue to urge him to corner his prey. Jumping over the little shadow, the hellhound crouched on all four, growling at the little creature. Knowing that it's path was blocked, it jumped to the side and made itself back around, fleeing from the demon.

He wasn't going to give up. No. Not at all. Catching his balance with the help of the corner of the wooden furniture he quickly kicked at the thing with his foot and caught it again. He received a few claws to the leg for it, but once more the thing was protesting at the attack and he was seeming to get somewhere. SOMEHOW.
TAKE THAT! Don't eat his bells. Or things. Or pets.

Olivia could feel the slight hint of sharp taloned claws against her legs, her deep leggings ripping as one of the creatures - probably the first one she had encountered - turned from the destruction of her room to her herself. But these things couldn't be felt, and her mind was only on keeping her precious things from being destroyed.

With a final swipe of his hand, the shadow dissipated into air. The room was cleared of the darkness that was consuming it and the yellow eyes among them. The room itself was in shambles, with much of his furniture missing. Getting to his feet, he adjusted himself before stalking out of his room.
It would appear the campus is infested.

He tried to shift to slam his foot back down on the thing again and failed as it sort of rolled to the side and spun to rake at his leg again. He was feeling awfully tired as it was, at the thing was still up and kicking.
He glared at it angrily as it chewed a bit more at one of his books that had fallen in the ruckus now, seeming not to care at all that it was royally pissing him off.
