"S-s-six... thousand...." Abel muttered in disbelief. He scanned the crowd to see who was doing this bidding. It was hard to believe anybody would want him. When he found out what he had signed up for, he pleaded to Alihi to come buy him, but... well, first it took her a moment to understand that he was not talking about prostitution and then another moment to stop laughing at him. In the end, he got the idea that she wasn't going to bail him out... something about learning his lesson about reading contracts before signing them, blah blah blah...

Eventually though, Abel spotted his bidders and after a few confused blinks, his eyes lit up with joy. Annis and Clara, members of his mercenary group! They had come to save him! But why were they fighting over him... His head continued to turn into a tomato as his imagination ran wild.

Holy s**t! Six thousand gold! That's a lot of gold. That's more than what a Medium sized Bullion sells for in Awakening. If it weren't outlandishly impossible and cartoonish, those who put this fundraiser together would've had cash symbols zooming out of their eyes with the tongues hanging out of there mouths. I really like breaking the fourth wall with my posts lately.

"Sold, for six thousand gold!" the Dragon proclaimed. He finished his cosmo in celebration of the success of this auction while there was clamor of celebration at the last sale before going on. "Up next is Ephraim, one of the Host Club's very own and very newest members!" Unless I'm mistaken. Pretty sure Ephy joined the Host Club at the Job Fair.

What the hell did he get himself into? That was what Ephraim was thinking the entire time he was back stage. It was nerve wracking watching all the other bachelors being shoved out on stage or walking out on their own free will just to hear the word 'SOLD' everytime the bidding stopped at a certain number. As far as the lancer could tell, Abel's price was the highest. Nnnnnoooot sure if the prince himself could actually top that.

The moment his name was called, Ephraim tensed up and inched over toward the stage. He would have kept going but someone behind him decided, HEY..YOU'RE MOVING TOO SLOW and he was shoved on stage. He lost his footing for a moment and nearly toppled on stage, but instead, tripped over his left foot, stumbled forward...looked at the crowd then stood up straight arms crossed...it felt REALLY weird being in public without a shirt considering he never really did so in the first place. But this WAS a bidding war so a majority of the bachelors were required to be without one he supposed.

"What on earth did I get myself into...?" continuing to ask himself this question as his cheeks slowly started to flush red in embarrassment. "Someone please bid...or I'm gonna die of embarrassment..."

Victoria cursed her bad luck for being late to the auction. She already heard that nice swordsman from last year's blind date go to someone else. Oh well. Her and Oujay weren't super-close, but at least the bishop had been there to show him he wasn't invisible. "He deserves to be happy, like all of us here do."

It was a time of temporary peace. Victoria nor the rest of Eyris would not know the further horrors of war until much later. For now though, this date was all about her! She was going to win an auction and have a great time, but of course she would not break her holy vows and do the kinds of things people confessed to her about.

But taking her mind off her work as both a preacher and a healer was just what she had in mind. Up next, she saw the rather noble-looking Ephraim step up to be auctioned off.

What would be a good amount to start off with, she wondered?

"500 gold!" Victoria shouted. It was time for the bidding war to begin.

Innes the hero of justice stepped forward with a fiery gleam in his eyes. He had his moneysack drawn and after a quick count. "Ephraim I will save you! 1,000 gold for the prince!" He looked around for any signs of competition. He would win for sure. He shot up a wink at the prince to reassure him.

You know he probably should have read the flier more carefully. Because he didn't know any of what was going on. He thought that his friend was being sold into slavery. He just couldn't sit idly by and let that happen. After he rescues Ephraim he was gonna make the slavers pay. Why was Ephraim shirtless? Ah it was to make sure he didn't have any weapons on him.

"Excuse me, my good Fire Dragon! If I could have your attention, I believe we could get this squared off and underway."

A voice rang out from the crowd, originating from the red sliver of hair that poked out from the waves of ongoers. It was like an antenna broadcasting the signal for all to hear....If only anyone knew what that was! References far before their time aside, it seemed that Ewan had decided to throw his hat into the bidding, or in this case his wallet! (Wallet, pouch, satchel, what have you.) A thumb twapped the bridge of his nose as he held up a hand, dramstically pointing at Innes' direction.

"HOLD IT! Royalty or not, I believe his afternoon shall belong to me! 2,000 gold on Prince Ephraim!"

The challenge had been declared, the Wheel of Fate had started turning, REBEL ONE! ACTION! You get the drill. Ewan straightened himself up, trying to look as imposing as possible like some nature show. He needed a day out of the barn that didn't involve wars or Cloak missions. Certainly royalty would be able to give him one hell of an afternoon. Besides....

Ewan appreciates hotness in all forms.

He couldn't let that little brat steal his thunder. Wait why was Ewan here? A puzzled expression almost lost him his chance to bid. Then he regathered his composure. What little he had left anyway.

"Tsk Tsk Tsk," Innes remarked as he waggled a finger, "5,000 gold for him then!"
PostPosted: Thu Feb 21, 2013 11:32 am

"GAH!"

Ewan took a step back, not expecting that sudden jump in the bid. Something here wasn't adding up. Unless Innes had landed here with half of the royal treasurey in his back pocket....Think Ewan, think....Or you're done for! If only Master Saleh was here! What would he think? If only he hadn't been murdered by that golden statue....Wait what the hell was he thinking? Master Walsh was always with him, with a little IMAGINATION. Think...Channel his spirit into whatever bright idea you have this time little mage! That's it!

'Think about the available resources he has...Prince Innes hasn't been here longer than yourself, much less been a key player in society. What could he possibly have under his sleeve?'

"OBJECTION!"

Ewan straightened himself out, once more drawing his finger in the direction of the smug princeling dramatically. Everything was on the line with this one bidding! Make it count! Make it....

Wright.

"You have the same resources than me! Nobody would be that sure with their money unless they weren't aware of how casual this charity is or if they were bluffing with their entire savings! You're trying to shake my resolve! Which is why I bid..."

"5,005 gold!"

Things were sure heating up. When another princely figure came in and started bidding, Victoria knew she had to step up her game. But before she could go any higher, Ewan stepped in. He and Innes went back and forth.

"This is ridiculous! I've never seen two men so eager to spend their time with another man! To each their own, but I will not lose!" she thought. Ewan looked young enough to be Ephraim's little brother though, instead of his date. Just what was he doing here?

"5, 600 gold!" Victoria said, finally getting a bid in between the war of Innes and Ewan.

Wallace

Wallace sat around waiting for his turn to be bid upon for an evening. You'd think I would know better than to accept a wager as part of a drinking game. Especially with Vaida stipulating the terms. Can't drink the way I used too when I was a young lad.

Yet another bidding war! And the money kept rolling in!

"I hear 5,600 gold! Sold!" Oooh, Victoria totally threw the Magvelians off, competing with each other.

Cue applause for purchase and making money.

Cue next bachelor.

"Our next bachelor is Wallace! Come right up, Wallace!"

If Victoria was late, then Leena was dead last. But the business of an upstanding merchant usually took all her day. She was lucky enough to leave her shop to some of her helpers. They were good workers. She really felt happy to have them. "Come on Leena. You owe this to yourself! Find someone who you think would be nice and..."

The shop keeper looked up who was next for auction. "Is that Sir Wallace? Sometimes I see him patrolling with Lady Vaida..." she muttered. All the sudden, she clammed up, and slapped her hands over her mouth.

She couldn't bid on Wallace! Just imagining what Vaida would do if anyone "took him away" was too terrible. Even if they were the most 'bitter rivals', they spent a lot of time together. "It's always nice to have someone by your side..." she thought. Leon had always been by hers, but she didn't look at him 'that way'. The way lovers looked at each other was special.

(Just a little post to get Leena in the show. I'm not sure who I'll give her a date with yet. ~)

She'd find a way to erase people's memories if she had to. This year, she would indulge in the festivity differently. This year, she had the opportunity to buy her very own slave... for one day, of course, and she couldn't break the law, but the evil sentiment was still in the back of her mind anxious to get out and torture her poor purchase.

There was quite the alluring lineup at the end of the auction and Vaida was getting impatient. At first, she wasn't exactly sure who she was going to buy. (In her mind, it didn't mind if there were other people bidding. If she wanted somebody in particular, she was getting him.) There was the guild Vice Captain, the King of hawks... oh, if only she were allowed to buy more than one, the things she could make them do. She could settle with just one of them, perhaps. Of course, once the day was over, she would still have to live with them and they had the power to make her life miserable, so Vaida decided to let that evil little desire go.

The one she ended up wanted was Gale. It would be so amusing to be able to dictate his every action, down to what she would make him wear. He was so far down on the list though, and this was taking forever. And nobody was bidding on lumpy head! Vaida growled and unable to wait anymore, she just shouted out. "Would somebody just bid a measly five gold for this oaf already!!"

Not having much experience with auctions, it slipped her mind that the auctioneer might have taken her outburst for an actual bid... (Which he should.)

Thanks to the original bid war, things had become much more lively at the bachelor auction. Ziaram ended up being won for two thousand gold by Rin, Up next was Sain, and there was another bidding war for him between Blythe (who the young lord assumed was trying to win him more for some sort of training. Whether it was to woo the ladies (Roy had to admit that the cavalier did have some skill getting back into the game after having numerous failures trying to win a date with a maiden, or was that stupidity? He certainly wasn't quite like the womanizing Saul, but he was everything that his father Eliwood said about the Caelin knight) or maybe some horseback riding lessons, the young lord wasn't sure) and Aruna. The Hostess probably needed someone with his skill set to serve the women who came to eat delicious baked goods at the Host's sister club.

Blythe won Sain at four thousand and five gold. He was amused that someone would pull a mere five gold increase this late in the bid. Up next was a cat named Sunil. Roy never had the chance to speak with the feline, but he had heard of him. It wasn't that often you hear of a Laguz joining an organization outside of the Laguz Army, and the cat ended up joining the Watch of all things. He must have had his reasons. The young lord felt that the cat was someone the fates wouldn't allow him to meet, so there was nothing he could do but watch as his dear friend Tiki almost won Sunil only to be demolished by another cat. Annis and Isadora did side with the dragon, but their efforts weren't enough to stop the hooded figure as she won her prize at a whopping five thousand gold. Roy was concerned about Tiki, but she seemed to have cheered up when Annis and Isadora befriended her.

Abel was up next, and Clara and Annis bid like crazy for him (though he assumed the latter was doing it to keep things interesting and see just how far she would go). Abel sold for a sum that certainly shocked a number of people, Hosts and audience alike.

Ephraim replaced the green-clad Hero, and the young lord couldn't help but smirk. He was right not to offer himself up onto the chopping block, as a number of Magvelians tried to win the Renais King only to be outbid by Victoria the Bishop. And now...

General of Caelin, Wallace the Stonewall, whom Roy was familiar with. Both his father and Marcus spoke highly of him when they told him stories of their quest to find his grandfather and saving Elibe from dragons. And yet, it was ironic that the man who tried to release dragons into the world would become his grandfather on his mother's side, and the great dragon they fought was actually his Uncle-in-Law (and the very same person currently auctioning off the bachelors).

Roy turned his head to look at Vaida, who had... accidentally bid for Wallace. Huh... well, even if she and Wallace were rivals, the bid was much too low. He also had some use for Wallace, as the general was a weapons expert. Who better to learn how to master the art of axe-wielding than someone like him? If Lord Hector was around, he would have been just as good of a choice, but as he hadn't heard anything about a blue-haired axe-wielding lord from Elibe, the bald boulder would do. Well, either train him a little or maybe share some stories about the war from his father's era. Both options seemed satisfactory enough for him.

"Five hundred gold for Wallace." Roy called out.

If no one was going to claim him, might as well, right?

Wallace

Wallace walked on to the stage in all his shirtless, bald, and musclebound glory that one acquires through a lifetime spent fighting and training in the heaviest of armor. Well, the bidding for me has certainly been underwhelming. First Vaida accidentally bid 5 gold for me and now some scrawny red headed boy, who looks oddly familiar, has bid 500 gold for me. I've certainly never met him before though he does look a bit like how I remember Lord Eliwood. "Come now! Certainly an evening with a Captain of the Guard is worth more than just the paltry sum of 500 gold! I am Wallace the Crag of Caelin! Gwahahahahaha!"

~So, I'm to die in battle, am I? I regret nothing! Ha ha ha...ha ha...~
