Atlas tilted his head. "... I'm not sure if I could manage that unless I intentionally stepped on only its legs." He had strength, but he just moved instinctively; he didn't have much control. Keeping a toad alive after he struck would require great precision.

"Practice on that rock, simply step down with a moderate amount of pressure then lift back up, like grass you want to flatten but not crush" Tekashi demonstrated a short distance away.

Atlas slowly nodded, then did as instructed. He frowned when the small rock split in half. He found another rock and tried again. It didn't split, but there were still deep cracks running through it. Sighing, he smacked it again and it split. Several tries later, there were a multitude of split rocks and a colt whose temper was deteriorating. "This isn't working."

Tekashi squinted. "Try on my hoof I will tell you when to stop." she offered a leg. This was either going to work or was going to hurt like hell but she wanted to try.

Atlas hesitated for once. Could he really do that to her? If he failed again, her hoof would be completely shattered. Slowly he nodded. He made the same motion, but at the last moment he froze. It wasn't fast enough to prevent striking the hoof, but it was a much lighter strike than his rock-cracking ones.

She winced but smiled. " That was better, I knew you could do it." She grinned broadly at him, that wouldnt squish a toad it would be about the right strenght to get it to make sound but not be toadcake. "

Atlas frowned at her, lightly--or not so lightly by normal terms--headbutted her side. "Not again," he grumbled. He didn't want to do that again.

"Yes the next time should be on a toad." She started looking for another one, hopping through the grass happily. Until she flushed one out. 'There get im! But not too hard."

Atlas instinctively moved to obey the command. He pictured Tekashi's hoof as he struck out at the frog, pulling the same draw-back maneuver that he'd done on it. When he pulled his hoof back, he could see the frog's legs twitching. His gaze lifted to observe Tekashi's reaction. Had he done it correctly?

The toad let out a musical note after its twitchfest. That meant he had done it right. Tekashi smiled brightly at him, "Perfect! You did it!" She danced over and stepped on the toad as well. Said toad was not impressed.

Atlas huffed, resting his head across the filly's shoulders. He was drained. If he wasn't so tired from using so much strength cracking all of those rocks, he might've lashed out. But he just let his head rest there and focused on standing upright.

Tekashi went as limp as she could and still support the weight. She didn't want to alarm him or startle him so she relaxed everything. Truth be told she was a touch tired too. All that animal chasing was awesome but it wore a girl out. She yawned.

It wasn't hard for Atlas to notice the filly's own fatigue. He gently clamped his teeth around a bit of her mane, gently tugging it before releasing it and walking towards the large rock he'd taken shade under before. The colt laid down to rest there, wordlessly gesturing that Tekashi should do the same.

The tug worked, she thought she knew what he wanted. She staggered over and curled against his side, a big sigh and she was nearly nodded off already. She blinked up at him then fell into a deep sleep. She felt safe here even though he was also only a foal. She shifted and slowly laid her head on his feet, cautious even in sleep.

Atlas rested his head across her neck, his eyes and ears ready to catch any signs of danger. But even he could not resist sleep and rest for long; soon he too was fast asleep.
