Although she knew of the great risk she was putting herself in, Xiu could not deny the exhilaration that rushed through her as she finally stepped onto the battlefield. When was the last time she had put her fighting skills to the test? When was the last time she had even left the safety of the palace and the Red Kingdom? All she knew that it had been much too long.
She was not dressed as she usually would have been, her lavish silk robes replaced by something less extravagant and, more importantly, shorter and easier to move in. Her long hair was done up in a simple bun, her jewelry had all been discarded, and she donned a pair of plain black gloves on her hands. All in all, Xiu looked quite ordinary, and she could have easily passed as any other Red Kingdom pawn.
Had it not been for the crown that was perched delicately atop her head, of course.
Still, unless anyone turned to actually look at her and take in the crown, there was nothing that made it immediately obvious that she was the Red Kingdom's King. No overpowering aura, no violent hunger--for the time being, she simply stood there with her hands calmly folded in front of her, one of her Qilins standing at her side as she scanned the field. When her gaze fell upon a particular figure, her heartbeat quickened. Riley was already here? Then they should go and assist--
--...No. No, something was strange. The other girl was not acting as she usually did, and seeing the ordinarily gentle young virgin lash out in such a violent manner was...
Whatever it was, there was something in Riley's expression that gave Xiu pause, and she gave a quick, silent shake of her head before looking over towards Mot. Mot entered the field of battle, trying not to become overwhelmed by the sight if mayhem and gore that met him. His body positioned itself in front of his King's, guarding her with his life. He'd attack if need be, but for now he kept himself where he felt he was needed. Needed... or maybe just where he wanted to be? Close to his King, a familiar form, to protect all he loved and cared for. This field of death and hatred was not suited to him at all. His hands were meant to heal, to make others feel better. To have to raise his hand against anyone was... He didn't let himself imagine it. Protect and heal. That is what he knew. His attention drew to Xiu as she addressed him, his terra cotta gaze shifting to where Riley wa---- . . . She... seemed.. different. It was scary, and disturbing to see a sweet and innocent lady... do such... His eyes darted away, and he nodded to Xiu. "I understand." Stepping onto the battlefield, Etzer seemed quite out of place. He'd never been on the battlefield before, and his eyes frantically searched for anyone he might know, especially his King.
She had faith in him. He wouldn't let her down.
Drawing upon his inner strength, Etzer formed a whip that was icy to the touch, breathing out as his fingers slid over it to pull it taut.

But as he glanced around, he realized that people were already engaged. He picked a smaller target just flitting around and looking lost and attacked her with his knife, the blade hot. He wasn't much of a fighter but it did some damage. "Nothing personal." he said, this was a war situation after all. He just knew he wasn't going to die here. { Entering} Rosy followed after most of those from the Red Kingdom, but didn't stay too close. Not that could as she came to a stop as she saw the chaos that had ensued on the battlefield. She actually felt her heart stop for a brief moment, and out of habit she was reaching for someone who wasn't there. No she left him behind when she walked away. She didn't want to see him out here, didn't want to see him fall if it happened.
Lifting the short blade, she keeps herself on high alert. Looking for anyone to attack, or making sure she was ready in case someone attacked her.OOC HP: 40/40

The sight of her blood, flowing down her cheek like a waterfall, coaxed a nearly obscene sigh from its lips; her pain resonated thickly through its entire being, intoxicating beyond belief. And there they were, her people--her family--moving onto the field one at a time. They were scattered across the area, but still within her view, her gaze flickering between them sharply as she took a quick headcount. Riley, Mot, Clyde, Etze--
Etzer. There was a moment of shock as she watched as one of the opposing kingdoms lunge out and attack him, but the surprise soon faded into anger and a strong desire to keep her comrade safe. "Mot." Her voice was soft, but firm. It was an order. Without hesitation, the King moved forward, bristling as she reached out to shove the attacker aside.

Following the actions of his king, Clyde fires an arrow. Though he was simply firing off a warning shot, the arrow grazes the skin of the opponent.
