Aiden had followed the crowd when it moved to follow the king, curious about what he would be addressing them about. He was covered in dark green armor with lighter green and black accents here and there, mainly accenting the dragon-like qualities of the armor. A few dark green strands of hair escaped his helmet at his neck and his brown eyes kept an eye on how close others got to the spear in his hand that was carefully pointed to the ground for the time being.
When he heard the king ask for volunteers and others rally in offering he stepped up as well with a smile. "Your Majesty I am more then willing to help win glory for our Kingdom." He looked around at the crowd briefly, the smile turning into a grin, then back to the king. "As a Dragoon I am both strong in combat and well protected thanks to my armor."

Character: Aiden Race: Human Class: Dragoon Weapon: Spear, enchanted
Personality blurb: Aiden is generally cheerful and very curious. He tends to push peoples buttons to see how they react which leads to him getting into trouble a good portion of the time.

The Nord smiled as the King made his choices, declaring the man a Soldier of Fortune with a small weight added to his ear - a little golden stud. Perfect - the front line. If he died, it would be in truly glorious battle for his King and Kingdom, and Sovngarde would have a pint ready for him to swill down with the finest of meats and cheeses.
As soon as the cask opened, he began to drink anew, reveling in the thought of warfare. It would be a good life, not matter the outcome.

Though she had begun with something more long suffering, a wide smile worked its way onto the faerie's mouth as she watched Alexander dodge the guards, finding far too much enjoyment in his little show. The smile turned warm as the tiefling sheltered Belladonna from the potential fray, and just as she was about to retort with something sassy for the smarmy b*****d's sake, the King spoke up and all fell silent. Quickly, the faerie ducked out from Ofelia's kind embrace and took her place between the tiefling and Alexander. With wide eyes and occasionally fluttering wings she just could not keep still, she watched as her fellows and friends onstage were named Champion and special fighters. Though her face remained curious, she smiled through out and even tinkled a laugh at Alexander and his oh-so-charming reply. The grin and odd look he gave her only prompts a quirked eyebrow and a confused return grin, only to realize what that meant if she were last. She had not prepared herself to be last, not for this position, nor had she at all expected to see her King look so very conflicted. Though she turned up wide eyes at him along with a shy smile, it did not feel as it should. There was something hidden in his gaze, words she could see him thinking and still not hear. His words were kind, but that look stilled her wings and made her smile begin to darken. It was only the item pressed into her hands that made her break the gaze. A golden circlet dotted with green jewels and thin, curling wires... A soft brush on her arm is all else the faerie receives before he is off speaking more and Belladonna is left with the gravity of her new position.
Pink eyes remained on the sparkling piece of jewelry in her hands, a thin thing really that should not feel as heavy as it did. It was little, just a tiny, miniature crown! There wasn't anything meaningful about that! Was there? The shout from the crowd below startled the faerie back into the realization that there was still a festival to be had, still fun to enjoy despite the odd look the King had given her. A smile was once more plastered onto her face for the people, but the circlet remained carefully clasped between her hands. For a moment she stood on the dais and looked at everyone, unsure where to go. Deciding it would be best to make friends with those she did not know on stage, the faerie fluttered over to the Eladrin who she gave a brilliant smile to. "I absolutely adore your dress. Here!" Having mostly forgotten about her basket, Belladonna plucked out a flower and carefully tucked it behind the girl's ear. Then she was off, handing a flower to Sophie and Julian and all the others with a smile before she hopped a foot into the air and flapped her way back to the King. For a moment she hovered in the air next to him, not wanting to hog all his attention, but wanting to at the same time. Finally she landed and fiddled with the circlet before him. "Will you stay and continue to celebrate with us, then?" Once again she smiled up at him, confused and hoping he would stay, at least a little bit longer.

When everything was said and done Ofelia found herself a Champion after all. She assumed she'd at least get something since a Tiefling's strength (and offer of strength) was nothing to bat an eye at but she wasn't really sure of what she'd wind up with. Being told she was something akin to a knight was pretty cool but then.
What was that on her horn was was it dangling. Ofelia tried to reach for it and wasn't paying attention.
And then she fell off the stage and landed fast first on the ground, legs bend awkwardly over her hair and her tail splayed in front of her torso.

The portal finally spat her out, and the girl tossed and tumbled, before sprawling out on the ground, groaning. Her shoulder still ached, and her robe was in shambles, but it seemed she had... made it here in one piece?
Slowly, she pushed herself off the ground, and huddled into a ball, not sure what to do. With the silver kingdom gone, she had no place to return to, no place to call home. The realization came crashing down on her, and Mayaa only curled up more, muffling quiet sobs.

Sin stood attentive as her King approached and she smiled and took the pouch emblazoned with Om's symbol fastening it to her belt with pride. She gave a smile and tilted her head as she dipped into a quick curtsey.
"It is an honor your Majesty."
With that she turned to watch her fellow champions receive their titles and tokens committing them to her memory. These would be her battle companions they all looked rather capable. Framboise fluttered slightly before settling herself back in the folds of Sin's cloak for a nap. Sin watched as the King approached Belladonna and bestowed a crown to her, the Queen. It only cemented Sin's original opinion, Belladonna was no doubt very capable of defending herself, but Sin intended to stay close to the Faerie and ensure that Om's Queen came to as little harm as it's King.
She jerked as a keg was popped and gave a wry smile while she rolled her eyes. Of course the time for festivities was at hand. She started to move off the stage but blinked as the Queen approached her with a smile and…a flower. Her mouth opened in a startled 'O' before she quickly gave another curtsey and yanked her cape in such a hasty flourish that her fruit bat Framboise was startled and fluttered up out of the folds of cloth.
Sin hastily cleared her throat and flashed Belladonna a smile.
"Thank you, I decided to dress more appropriate to the Festival but of course I'll be wearing more practical gear soon enough. I am Sin…" and I don't intend to let anyone harm a single hair on your lovely red head.
Naturally she didn't say so out loud instead she watched Belladonna hop away handing out flowers. Her eyes tracked the Faerie all the way back to the King and she tilted her head as she watched them interact curiously. She busied herself re-arranging her cloak so Framboise could land again and settle down.

While the rest of the Mort clones had disappeared for the speech, the one by those of the Silver Kingdom remained - it wouldn't do to simply vanish on the ambassadors after all! Julian having answered Sigrun's question, he stood by quietly until the true king finished the ceremony and the crowd began to cheer once more. "And now that moment of discussion has come," he told them pleasantly, clapping his hands. "The party is a touch noisy, but I'm sure we could move to less raucous parts of the forest - or if you'd rather a view, the castle." He indicated the floating island partially hidden behind the tree tops. Their murmurs to one another weren't anything new to him - the Silver Kingdom was a terribly neutral party when it came to the others.
Not a few seconds afterwards, however, another ambassador was dumped from the portal and Mort blinked at the sight of the sobbing teen. Something was . . . off. Perhaps there was more to their murmurs than he was aware of; something ominous prickled the back of his neck as he remembered the Voice's words, and he crouched to get a better look at her. "Ah, what have we here, another guest? Come, friend, you are safe within the kingdom. No need for tears."
And another too! Goodness, the shadowing groups were more scattered than normal . . . This didn't bode well. The king gestured for Keel to also come forward, still with a light smile on his face even as his thoughts turned to darker things.

Her sobs slowly quieting into soft hiccups, she hadn't even noticed Mort approaching until he spoke, at which she slowly lifted her head, wiping her tears.
"You... you are the king of the Green kingdom?" If she weren't so dazed, she would realize the lack of manners with which she was greeting the king with.

Was it because of the Green King’s good gesture? Or was it because Keel finally registered that they were finally in a safe place? No matter the answer, the citizen of the fallen silver kingdom suddenly broke into tears, simply bawling their eyes out in front of the crowd. They really weren't sure what to do, the tears wouldn't stop and all their feelings were in conflict. What were they supposed to feel? So much confusion.

Sophie was on the middle of the stage, much like the others that were ordered. She noticed the two new arrivals and had she not been ordered by the King himself, she might have gone to introduce herself. Instead, she watched from the middle of the stage; fiddling with the hem of her cloak. All eyes were on her and it wasn't something she was used to. A deep blush crept over her cheeks and she was glad she didn't have to speak anymore because she wasn't sure any words would come out. When the King finally came to her, she tried her best to look the part; to look like her stomach wasn't filled with butterflies. She was surprised to see Alexander titled as a Champion, given his history with the law. It wasn't even history anymore; it was present and future. He was on first name basis with most of the guards. Despite all that and their first encounter together; she had to admit he had some skill she supposed could be useful. He may not be the brightest candle in the chandelier but he certainly was the fastest.
Mind back on the King now, Sophie realised he was presenting her with something. A wonderful cloak, beautifully detailed and embroidered with Om's crest. She took her own off, something she'd fastened herself quite some time ago and had never bother replacing. By now it was quite worn so she wasn't too concerned with pulling it off and tossing it in a heap to the side. She wrapped the new cloak around her and rubbed the fabric against her cheek. It was soft. Fastening it, she smiled at the King. "It's perfect. I only hope I can serve your Kingdom well." From Belladonna, she accepted the flower, pressing it to her nose and inhaling the wonderful scent. She grew the best flowers she'd ever come across.
"Thank you, Belladonna."
When formalities were over and the wine was cracked open, Sophie picked up her old cloak and stepped off of the stage. She searched through the crowd to find the new arrivals; the first two she saw in particular. There were two others but they seemed more.. emotional and she thought it was best Belladonna or the King handle them until they'd calmed down. Perhaps she'd bring them a nice cup of tea. But for the mean time, she turned to the two girls and greeted them with a smile and an extended palm. "Welcome to the Kingdom of Om. Are you in need of medical attention? I can fix you right up."
AJ wasn't happy with the King's unwise decision. He was only a pawn? Really? Serious? How can this King question his loyality to the kingdom? How can Ofelia got selected Champion but he was still a pawn. Maybe- maybe it's time to think about it, whether to go to another kingdom that knows how to appreciate his abilities. Even Bells and Sophie got chosen as the Champion but he remained as a pawn. And another thief, as famous as he was, granted Bishop?! He wasn't any inferior than Alex, was the King blind or having some vision problems?
The Tiefling thief was very very unhappy and dissatisfied for the first time, not only because he wasn't trusted by the King, not only because he didn't granted as Knight, not only because his other friends got chosen important posts, but because his ability was underestimated and being questioned. This was of zero tolerance! His tail beat onto the ground hard enough to create little cracks.
If the king didn't appreciate his effort, he will find someone else who does. Loyalty was only shown when his importance was valued. Yep, this was his home, with his friends and sister here. If he could choose, he wasn't wanted to fight against their kingdom. However, if he wasn't appreciated, it would be another case. Grievances overwhelmed his mind and negative thoughts started to accumulate.
Meanwhile, he would watch while bringing more troubles to his majestry as punishment of underrating his ability. Be careful, my majestry.
Ol-j-man
More troubles expected.
AJ was a tiefling thief having good sneak-in and fleeing skills. When he was not stealing, mostly he was telling stories of other kingdoms during his adventures. He was kinda easy-gong, loves to create troubles, but cares about his friends. He can tell lies to achieve his goals, so he could be cunning. He cares about his dear sister, but he didn't show it in public. He had a bad habit of stealing things. /shot shot

Sigrún paid close attention to the ceremony as it happened and even clapped out of respect for those who had been chosen for special positions. She knew they would have to work hard and perhaps even be working with her so Sig wanted to start off on the right foot.
"Your majesty" Sigrún bowed her head to him as he turned his attention back to her and Momo. She was still entranced by the copies but pushed that to the back of her mind. Taking a deep breath Sigrún was about to answer the king back about moving to a quieter location when more people tumbled through the portal much like she had. Only they did not look to have survived the escape as well and she and her friend did.
Sigrún sucked in a sharp breath and looked to Moriko her green eyes glittering. She was unsure what actions to take next without talking to Momo, she was always the one to best handle these situations. Sigrún opened her mouth to ask Moriko something while they waited to see if the other silver citizens joined them., when someone joined them.
The someone was the wood elf, the one who had just been honored on the stage...Sophie was her name. Sig quickly drew up the details she had observed so far. " Greeting and congratulations" she quickly took the offered palm in greeting then returned to her pervious posture. " I think we are mostly un harmed thus far miss Sophie thank you." She smiled her thanks to the elf before glancing at Momo and then at the other silver kingdom members.

Music was playing out of nowhere. A fanfare, trumpets, blasts of noise that seemed inappropriate and surreal at the same time.
And then silence. And then the scene around them shifted, darker still, until everything was stained a deep void of nothing. There was no them, they had no body, all they had was one thing calling to them. The Voice.
((OOC: Click on the image to view the cutscene! This is a NEW cutscene, the image just looks the same from the first page.))
"I am the Voice." The tone was both musical and clear at the same time, an interval that could not be reached through normal sound. It resonated in every core of their Miasma, and reminded them of their existence simply with its presence alone. Yes, they existed because of The Voice, the one who called them to fight in this world and promised everything.
"You have been chosen, Kings and Warriors." Images began flashing in their minds, too quick for them to truly comprehend. "This is my gift to you, and in return I demand Miasma." And then a glimpse of something else, something almost all kingdoms recognized. The Silver Kingdom, collapsed, in ruin, the tower crumbling, thick silver miasma curling from the base. The Kingdom had truly fallen. "To the north the fallen Tower of Silver, those few survivors who remain will fight for Kings or find themselves with the same fate." The Voice remained blank, apathetic as the image shifted to a thicker, lush setting. "To the center, the Great King's labyrinth. Miasma flowers, the King's prized possessions, lie in the center, cursed with a price."
Lastly, the image shifted to a war-ravaged area, familiar to almost all. The contamination zone. "To the East the desolate lands, corrupted by tainted Miasma, the earth itself treacherous."
With a poignant pause, everything shifted back to colourless still. Music again, odd, raucous, mocking. "The Voice calls forth the warriors, all for the glory of the true king. The Kingdom with the lowest price in Miasma will be the next to fall."
And even in the most abysmal setting, everything almost sighed in a burst of light. No, not light, existence, of their own Miasma. The Voice communicating directly to them, both chastising and commanding, encouraging and tantalizing demanded everything including who they were themselves. It was terrifying and it was absolute. Its message was entirely simple and complete. Several would turn to their King now, and their was no doubt the words in their eyes, in their expressions, in everything. They were scared, they were uncertain, and for some, they were ready. Warriors, Kings, measly peasants and shadows. It was the King's turn to decide who would fight in their Kingdom's glory.

gaia_crown[ THE KING'S CHOICE:] Now, as citizens and warriors prepare themselves, Queens and Pawns and Wild Cards, the King must come to a choice. Where will they place their pieces? As the King decides, his voice carries the final authority. They are ready to fight. They have no choice but to fight.
OOC: - When a King QUOTES you, and directs your player to a location, you are now moving to that { EVENT } marked thread. You can only try in an { EVENT } thread until you pretty much die/ your HP goes to 0. When you escape or finish successfully, please mark all gained Miasma Points HERE for your team. - If you DIE in an event, you will LOSE ALL MIASMA POINTS GAINED. They cannot be transferred to another player. - These events DO have difficulty levels. If you feel like you cannot handle a high difficulty level event, make sure you contact your King, either through pms, AIM, or the OOC thread. Quote the King player if using the OOC thread. The King will try their BEST to accommodate, but please do not expect them to 100% assign you to everything you want. If they assign you to a more challenging thread, consider it a compliment that they trust your skills! - It is up to the King HOW they want to split their players. Each player in a Kingdom can only participate in one event pass or fail. They cannot return to an event pass or fail. Think CAREFULLY which ones you want to bring your characters to! - To recap: respond rp-wise to the Voice as you wish. Ultimately however, you cannot move until your King wishes for so. You can ICly express where you want to go or wait for your King's decision. You can OOCly also talk it amongst each other. Once your King is ready, they will post their choices as to where each player will go. That is when you will move to your event threads, to try and get as many MIASMA POINTS as possible. - At the end of OOC 48 hours from THIS POST ALL EVENT THREADS WILL CLOSE, complete or incomplete. I will then tally the Miasma Point thread. The Kingdom with the lowest Miasma points. WILL FALL and all its subjects fall to ruin. Once again, for the King and all the players, the options are:

Moriko had glanced over the ceremony a few times but hadn't actually paid much attention to it. She had never been one for such things. Instead, she had been debating over the recent events and trying to formulate a plan. What she really needed was to talk to Sigrund but it seemed that a private conversation was out of the question for the moment. Instead she would have to settle for whispering.
"Whichever is more convenient for you. Neither my friend or I are particularly picky." She smiled as she spoke the king. As he looked to the the two newcomers, Moriko took the opportunity to lean in close to Sigrund and whisper a few words into her ear.
"I'm not sure what happened back in our Kingdom, but it didn't look good and I'm not sure we have anything left to go back to. I'm thinking we might want to cut our ties while we still can and make a new start here."
She was about to say a few more words when the healer approached. "Thank you for your offer, but I'm quite alright." She smiled to the girl. The green Kingdom was certainly turning out to be a friendly and helpful one.
Just as the two other silver members looked to be approaching, something happened. It seemed to be some sort of Voice... Nothing like anything that she had ever heard before. Voice... Her thoughts trailed back to the marketplace. Could this be the same voice that was mentioned before? She couldn't say. But what she did know was that the Silver Kingdom was most definitely in ruins and her decision to jump ship appeared to be a good one.
For a moment the music blended with the revelry around them and then Sin breathed deeply as she tilted her head up and felt something shift. It was as if she had detached from her body leaving nothing but The Voice and the sound of the voice all around her, a part of her. She listened because there was no other choice, and she was quiet and still until the shift occurred again. She gasped softly at the sudden sensation of returning to sight, body, touch, and then a smile as she felt a burst, a connection to Om and the green Miasma that made their existence.
Then she frowned and moved quickly towards her King and Queen, the ruins of the silver kingdom and the knowledge that it was time to move filled her with uncertainty in many ways yet she was certain of one thing…
"My King, forgive the interruption…I will go wherever you request, but if I may beg your indulgence I should like to go wherever you send our Moderator."
She had been tasked with protecting so hopefully the King would take that into consideration.
