Alicia tilted her head with a nod, blushing slightly. "I thought I heard someone singing outside... something about changing the world," she said quietly, her tone more thoughtful than embarrassed. I don't know how many people go to these meetings they're talking about and I've only talked to my aunt online and have never met her personally, she thought.Merrick shifted slightly, the music becoming slower and softer.

"Oh, that was Merrick." Constance said as she looked over her shoulder as if she was expecting him to appear there. "He is very good." She looked back at her friend with a smile. She reached forward and held onto Alicia's hand lightly. "Hey don't worry," she said as if she knew what the other girl was thinking, "I have never been to a meeting with Merida either. Usually these are only for the coven leaders." Constance had never met any of the other coven leaders so she was excited about going. "I am sure your aunt will be happy to see you."

Kaosujin Ryu Alicia blushed when Constance mentioned her aunt before she giggled weakly. "About that... I've actually never even met her in person; I've spoken to her on the phone and online, but not face-to-face," she admitted sheepishly. She tilted her head when Constance glanced back before she grinned. "Is it just me, or do you have just a little crush on him, aye?" she said teasingly, pressing her forefinger and thumb a fraction of an inch apart.Merrick tilted his head, pausing momentarily before he shifted to something more energetic. A faint aura of brilliant golden red light swirled around his fingers and arms, even around his shoulders for an instant, before fading away.

Constance blushed and shook her head. "No, why would I? We've only just met." After a moment she smiled at the look on Alicia's face. "Okay, maybe just a little, but don't say anything." She too giggled a little. Constance patted Alicia's shoulder a little. "I have never met any of the other coven leaders either. So this will be a new experience for the both of us. Although Merida and your aunt seem to be closer to each other than the other two. I would dare to say they are each others best friends." Constance grinned as she tugged on Alicia's hand. "So do you want to come help me prepare some dinner? I need to start a little early because there is a lot to do."

Alicia nodded, standing, before she felt a pulse of goosebumps shudder over her skin; it felt like someone had dumped warm water down her back. "Of course.... though what was that? I don't know if it's possible to sense magic, unless someone's sensitive to it... or if it's dense enough," she said slowly, her gaze shifting upward towards the ceiling. Merrick blinked as he paused just before the solo, his hand rising from the guitar in the pause before he noticed the deep reddish gold aura that swirled over his hand and wrist like living flames, originating apparently from the point roughly two inches above his wrist. He could see the odd tattoo glowing a pale violet on the back of his hand as a narrow line of runic markings formed on the outside of the central ring.

Constance followed Alicia's gaze towards the ceiling. "Mostly it is just the coven leaders that can sense magic, but sometimes there are a few of us who can sense it as well." She looked back to Alicia with a small smile. "You should speak more to your aunt about it. I have heard that many people in your bloodline can sense magic. Your family comes from very old magic." She began to pull Alicia back towards the kitchen. "Maybe we'll get more answers in a couple of days..." Constance wasn't just talking about old magic. She wanted to know more about her family. Since Amelia was going to be there and her coven were the record keepers...maybe she knew something about Constance's parents.

Alede OOC - Merrick doesn't know that his mother, who abandoned him, was really the daughter of the Japanese god Inari, while his father, whom he's never met, was the son of Mórrígan, the Irish goddess of battle. Also, the marking that's on the back of his hand is a binding spell created by the Mórrígan to hide the features he inherited from his mother's side of the family. Alicia tilted her head. In that moment, she heard a yell of pain that made her eyes snap upward towards the stairs. Her body tensed almost immediately Merrick frowned as he felt an odd sensation building in his abdomen before it grew more intense as if someone had stuck a red hot poker in his abdomen and twisted; he didn't even realize he'd half fallen off the bed as a srangled yell escaped him. A prismatic aura of teal and gold swirled around him rapidly before dissipating as he coughed, unaware that dark gold fox ears stuck through his dark reddish black hair as well as a pair of wavering dark gold fox tails wavering behind him where he lay on his stomach. His muscles were extremely tensed. to the point where he could barely move without pain. Lorcán jerked as he heard a distant yell. His gaze flickered around warily, before he blinked, sensing the dense magical nature accompanied by the yell. He frowned fractionally, his eyes narrowing. Is it possible? he thought.

Constance's eyes widened when she heard the yell of pain. She stopped and looked in the direction it had come from. "Should we...go see what that was," she asked softly.
"Go about your business," Merida said as she suddenly appeared next to them. "I will check it out." She smiled tightly at the two young women before hurrying towards the stairs. Of course she knew where the magic was concentrated at. The new member to their little coven. She hurried towards Merrick's room and without knocking she opened up the door. Her eyes widened when she saw what had happened. "Well that is unexpected," she muttered. Merida broadcasted her thoughts out to Lorcan, urging him to come see what had happened.

Alicia frowned when Merida spoke, tempted to follow her. "I'm so tempted to go after her to see just what is going on," she said quietly. Merrick heard Merida's voice and grunted, hissing as he felt his muscles protest painfully as he pushed himself to hands and knees, keenly aware his arms were shaking from the tension in his muscles. He heard a footfall and unconsciously tilted his head, spotting Lorcán, who paused as if surprised at what he was seeing. "At the moment, I feel like someone shoved a Taser where it definitely doesn't belong," he said wryly. Lorcán blinked as he materialized next to Merida. "Very true. It may explain at least in part why his magic control is chaotic at best," he said thoughtfully. He took a step towards Merrick and paused when the young man shot a look at him with deep golden irises that had slitted pupils. He forced back a smile as he realized just what Merrick meant when he spoke. "True that a Taser doesn't belong there," he said wryly, amused.

"Me too, but I don't think it's a good idea," Constance muttered as she tugged on Alicia's hand. "Let's just go to the kitchen and see what we can cook up. If something was really wrong, I would know."~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Merida snorted, hiding the laughter that wanted to burst out. "Yes, that must be very uncomfortable." She leaned against the door frame watching Merrick. She seemed to be calm and collected, but really her mind was racing. She had never expected to see anything like this in her life. It was strange and thrilling at the same time.

Alicia sighed, but followed Constance without protest. She grinned momentarily as she thought of something she thought would surprise Constance. "I can fix some homemade lasagna if you like," she said with amusement. Merrick shifted, grimacing ever so slightly as he leaned back into a kneeling position. "I have one minor question: What the heck are you staring at?" he said, scratching his cheek with the marked hand, still unaware of the changes that had occurred to his appearance. Lorcán tilted his head as he noticed the addition to the marking, a subtle ring of script that to him looked like ancient Gaelic. That confirms my suspicion, though unless I'm mistaken one of those marks, chíáid, translates as 'hide', so it must be some sort of barrier seal of some kind, he thought.

Constance looked at Alicia with a little bit of surprise. "Really?" She grinned at the girl and nodded. "Okay then Alicia. I'll let you cook. What will you need?"~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Merida raised an eyebrow slightly and shook her head. Well Merrick obviously didn't know what had just happened to him. She shook her head and pushed herself away from the doorway. "Here, look at this." With a little wave of her hand a small mirror appeared in her hand. She held the mirror in front of his face and waited for his reaction.

Merrick blinked in surprise, the fox ears lying back as he cocked his head, the ears settling naturally upright on his head before one twitched. "Holy s**t, this is more unexpected than Pee Wee Herman joining the UFC," he said wryly. He blinked as he noticed the twin fox tails that were a deep amber-gold color with black tips. Lorcán snorted at Merrick's offhand humor; it was very obvious Merrick had never expected anything like this. He was impressed that he was somewhat calm, even if the calm was on the surface. He could tell that Merrick was startled, confused, and probably scared though he hid it remarkably well.

Merida too was surprised at how well Merrick was taking the change. He hid the unease very well. She stood back up and stretched. "What you can do is amazing. I doubt Pee Wee Herman could or ever would join the UFC, and if he did...it would not be amazing." She smiled a little and shook her head. She looked over at Lorcan and shrugged a little. This was just one of those days that was turning out weirder and weirder. Her gaze went back to Merrick. "Do you need something to drink or anything?"~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ As they had begun to cook Constance turned on some music. She laughed as she danced around the kitchen, gathering the things that Alicia would need. She could still feel the odd current of magic, but she shrugged it off. She had never told anyone she could feel magic like this. Well just Merida, and she was sure Lorcan knew since he was Merida's second in command.

Alicia laughed, pulling out the pan to brown the hamburger and sausage, since she planned on using both. Merrick coughed after a moment, then cleared his throat. "Some water would help; my throat feels like I replaced it with sandpaper," he said wryly, not realizing his canines were roughly a sixth of an inch longer than the rest of his teeth on both the top and bottom. Lorcán tilted his head, watching Merida from the corner of his eye. He shifted his head in a slight nod, well aware she most likely felt a little out of her element at the moment.
