I haven't had the chance to show off my first egl outfit yet... but I'm scared to sweatdrop everyone who saw it so fatr thought it was some kinky maid outfit

I hate that. I have this awesome outift, but people always ask me if I'm the "swiss miss" becuase it's blue. It makes me so mad.

Yea, I'm afraid of going out in it because some perverted person might approach me and... well think I'm something bad.. gonk that's the problem with this country, everything out of the 'ordinary' is shunned, and stuff like EGL, people take you for being from a porno or something

Yeah, I'm always afraid of that when I wear some of my outfits in public, but I have some really supportive friends at home. Seriously, all my gay boy friends tell me that my outfits are really adorable, so I don't feel so nervous about people getting the wrong impression. My parents are used to me wearing crazy stuff, and my mom is happy that I'm actually wearing girly things, so it's easy sailing with them. Besides, my mom has always been more worried about my location and safety than my dress habits.

my dad cant really tell me not to wear anything because him or my stepmom have done almost everything i want to do. my stepmom wears her underwear on stage while singing as a stage gimmick (the band is called naked beggars) and my dad has done just about everything with hair and makeup that you can do. i have a lot of freedom that way because both of them have really unique styles, so they cant try to tell me to dress conservatively.

That's really cool. My parents do great halloween costumes, but that's about the only time they dress up, whereas, even before I got into gothic lolita, I'd come to school in fun clothes. In 9th grade, I dressed up like an angel one day in December, and other days I would wear other stuff. It was incredibly fun, and though I got stares, it was worth it.

me and my friends used to be like that, we once got the entire grade to dress in clothes from different time periods that we were studing in school, we even got the teachers to give extra credit, but once we got to the sixties, they put a halt to things. you can dress in a toga, in victorian dresses, but they draw the line at tie-dye. but we did leave the school with a lasting impression, they can dress as flappers, where evening gowns but you can't dress the freshman up, no cross dressing during homecoming, no pajamas, and no pant legs as hats, the american flag is not to be worn as a strapless dress, and i could get away with wearing whatever costume i wanted but if sera tried to wear the same thing, she'd get sent home, i miss high school.
now i don't even get noticed for what i wear, the japanese students think it's pretty cool and tell me everyday that they have people in japan that dress like me. other than that my friends notice when i get a new dress and comment on what they think about it.

In 10th grade, I had tranferred to an arts highschool, so we had fun wearing whatever the heck we wanted. That was when I started getting into Gothic Lolita. My senior year a friend and I wore our Chii dresses I had made to school one day. I've always been known as the girl who makes her own clothes, so nobody really minded whatever I wore...though some of it has been a little embarassing. Actually, I've been dressing up since elementary school. Kids were really mean about it then. In 2nd grade, for picture day, I wore this "pioneer-ish" dress and sun bonnet. It was so much fun...but later on I was embarassed that I had done that. One girl once told me that my earrings had "ruined the class picture." I wasn't even wearing anything interesting that day. *****! It wasn't 'till I got into highschool and free of my ungly middleschool "dress-code" that I was able to dress up again without being so self concious.

I can just imagine how fun it'll be to dress EGL at my first year of hs (I'll be a sophomore, but I was home schooled this year), in a small town full of looserz [/sarcasm] But I think it'll be refreshing for me to not worry about how in-style what i'm wearing is, and if I look like What's-her'name the most popular slut in school.... and just dress however I want. I imagine I'll get used to it (since I don't commonly dress EGL now, and never wear EGL outside the house), and eventually won't care 3nodding whee

It is fun, when I do dress that way. I'm hoping that this summer will be a mostly Lolita summer, but who knows. If (when, hopefully) I get a job, I may need to dress sweet Lolita, and not have all the accessories. sad

here in England, you pretty much can't wear your own clothes until College.
i'm in College now, and due to all of the bullying in the past (wearing what i wanted instead of the uniform anyway lol, non-uniform days...etc), i find it difficult to walk outside the house wearing my lolita skirt, or my dress...
Theres another lolita at my college, and she shops in the only shop england has along side myself, but she has the guts to go in a look all cute andpretty rather than myself :/
I goto a college by a city called Brighton (some may of heard of it), which is like...alternative central, so i need to get to grips and realise that i wont get bullied at my college sweatdrop

Yea, I work at a fabroc sotre and this week alone so many people are getting materials to make star wars costumes. now they are wearing this to a big ewven where thoudads of people will be, but they are afraaid of telling others about it? Odd ne?
Personally as anyone who knows me can tell you, i am fearless, I'll post three stories up on the ledge and wear damn near anythig damn near anywhere.
But at the same time i know what its like to be stuck in the strick end of the world for what you can and can't wear.

i would like to say its because they dont know any better because they havent seen it before, but that still isnt an excuse. ive seen people wear different clothes than what im used to and i assume that they probably dress like that.

i used to be just liked that. not give a damn, just go out and love the stares, until it got violent sweatdrop
But i think still, the only way i can be myself is all my piercings and hair. I love going into college with my hair all over the place, people just remember me for my crazy hair, and i love it whee no one really can do nor say anything about hair, hair is hair and people can have it as they want biggrin
But i think todays world should be more open to different styles, i really wanna just walk around and look like a walking talking doll...and be accepted :/

I agree. I would love to open a boutique with Gothic Lolita and other neat styles in it. That would be so lovely. heart
