At the shout, Melvin jerked back and stepped aside, watching as Jerry aimed perfectly and fired. The Shadow stumbled and started to seem to shudder in it's form. It must have been close to dying.
Seeing as Jerry didn't need his help at all in defending now, having shouted him to get away, Melvin decided to actually try his hand at firing.
He took his aim, waiting a bit too long, and fired. The creature had already moved, rearing up to go after Jerry. The REAL threat in this fight.
Melvin just looked at his gun and sighed. So much for having a moment, and he put his gun down, hoping Jerry was too distracted to see that green pod fly out into the distant jungle and hit a tree instead.
Damage: MISSED

The creature barely noticed Melvin, it had the more annoying prize cornered. Withouot any sort of distraction, there was nothing in it's way to stretch it's remaining limb out, shadows crawling up the Sun hunter who's face momentarily went white.
By the time the claws had scratched, the bazooka had barked.
As the ashes fell, he staggered forward, deeper into the trees, "Let's go."
Nothing new. Nothing to be afraid of. Nothing to stand in his way.

Melvin had followed Jerry and was close behind, but just as they were pushing through the trail, he felt his leg caught and was just about to call out when the ground under him opened wide. He dropped, falling down as Jerry vanished and he was sent down a tunnel and went down and down before shooting him out into a field where he tumbled and laid there, feeling bruised and worn.
It was after a few minutes that his pendent went off and the unconscious trainee was sent back.

Jerry drifted... his feet knew where to go. There were twists, there were turns, there were deep horrible pits filled with crawling, pinching, stinging things, but he pressed on.

He... he could hear her! Jerry stumbled out of the labyrinth, winded, but intent. That soft voice... his breath hitched in his throat, "I'm here..." He whispered, eyes closed now as he pressed forward, just... listening.
The notes were different but the same, the melody changing in his memory like a squirming snake that refused to be held, but he gripped, he memorized every dancing chord, she would be his he would find her...
His legs grew weak as the music filled him and he staggered. Roar vanished from his shoulder as he took hold of a stone fixture. "I'm here... I want... I want to meet you..." He pleaded.
With a small gasp, he felt the magic sweep past him... but it was not the magic of music.
Tentacles hit the ground once again, and his pendant immediately leaped into action, snatching Melvin away as well in a burst of light.

Melvin followed Jerry in and found them in another part of the jungle, as usual. Then, without much time to really gather their wits and take in their surroundings, a shadow that was perked on a rock went down on all fours and started to move to them.
"Great." Melvin said, looking over to Melvin. "I'll go...do what I usually do." He told him, heading towards the side.

"We got this. This is what being a Sun is all about." Jerry had Roar shouldered in an instant, marching forward.
Something rustled nearby. It wasn't the thundering footsteps of the previous shadow-beasts... whatever it was was probably afraid.
He was proud at that thought. "Alright, get your position!"

"Yeah. Yeah." Melvin called out, moving to the side before climbing up a rock and whistling. "HEY UGLY! Right here! Come on!"
With having no previous harm done, the creature turn it's slender head his way, moving on all fours in a clumsy fashion as it groaned.
Defending Jerry cause that's what Melvin does - since, ya know, he can't shoot: 4

The shadow suddenly burst from the coverage, a blur of darkness and snapping jaws leaping straight for Melvin-
It's attack was cut short by a massive blast, sending the smaller, sleeker shade of nothing tumbling. "RUN," Jerry snapped, rushing forward as the thing rolled, catching him with a clawed foot as he followed his own advice.

This shadow was fast and Melvin jumped off his rock for cover before he heard the blast. Peaking over the rock, he saw Jerry shout at him to run.
"s**t!" He ran around the rock and ran to the trees nearby, getting some cover as he looked back at the monster. "HEY! Still over here!!" He called out, now that he had some distance but being sure to run the moment it came over.

The creature leaped after it's escaped prey, not wanting to bother the other one that bit from a distance. It was fast, but it gave Jerry enough time to run ahead, twisting and planting himself for a fresh shot. "Let it run toward me and then call it back!!" He shouted, but in the time it took to call the order, the enraged creature had leaped toward him, claws lashing out-

"Okay! Just don't die or anything!" He called out, and then picked up a rock and chucked it at the monster, before running over and hitting his gun against a tree. "HEY! DINNER BELL! COME HERE!" He called out. The creature was both aggravated and confused, moving back towards Melvin as he heard more commotion. Jerry was it's prey when it stung, but Melvin was loud and not firing, thus coming off as weak.
You can hit it with a rock but not with a gun?!
Shut up, Saliva. I already know.
