i dont know chinese that well... i know the basics and thats it.. i rly rly rly want to learn.. i think im going to take canto in college but until then ill suffer without knowing how to speak chinese

I can speak / understand Mandarin well enough to have a conversation with some gesturing, but reading / writing? I stink. I can only read a couple hundred words, and I can write even less.

It's really funny when some relative that I haven't talked to in years finally calls me. They usually speak Cantonese / some other dialect, and I was raised w/ Mandarin, so I just nod, say yes, and blah xp

i so completely envy u.. i rly want to learn chinese whether its madarin or cantonese.. i only know english.. and ive taken 2 years of spanish

I'm a near-perfect Canto, speak/write/read profoundly. 8D It's very helpful to know Chinese, especially Canto when you decide to cuss and diss others. xD
